Hybrid model for BOF oxygen blowing time prediction based on oxygen balance mechanism and deep neural network

The amount of oxygen blown into the converter is one of the key parameters for the control of the converter blowing process,which directly affects the tap-to-tap time of converter. In this study, a hybrid model based on oxygen balance mechanism (OBM) and deep neural network (DNN) was established for predicting oxygen blowing time in converter. A three-step method was utilized in the hybrid model. First, the oxygen consumption volume was predicted by the OBM model and DNN model, respectively. Second, a more accurate oxygen consumption volume was obtained by integrating the OBM model and DNN model. Finally, the converter oxygen blowing time was calculated according to the oxygen consumption volume and the oxygen supply intensity of each heat. The proposed hybrid model was verified using the actual data collected from an integrated steel plant in China, and compared with multiple linear regression model, OBM model, and neural network model including extreme learning machine, back propagation neural network, and DNN. The test results indicate that the hybrid model with a network structure of 3 hidden layer layers, 32-16-8 neurons per hidden layer, and 0.1 learning rate has the best prediction accuracy and stronger generalization ability compared with other models. The predicted hit ratio of oxygen consumption volume within the error±300 m^(3)is 96.67%;determination coefficient (R^(2)) and root mean square error (RMSE) are0.6984 and 150.03 m^(3), respectively. The oxygen blow time prediction hit ratio within the error±0.6 min is 89.50%;R2and RMSE are0.9486 and 0.3592 min, respectively. As a result, the proposed model can effectively predict the oxygen consumption volume and oxygen blowing time in the converter.

A two-grid algorithm based on Newton iteration for the stream function form of the Navier-Stokes equations

In this paper, we propose a two-grid algorithm for solving the stream function formulation of the stationary Navies-Stokes equations. The algorithm is constructed by reducing the original system to one small, nonlinear system on the coarse mesh space and two similar linear systems （with same stiffness matrix but different right-hand side） on the fine mesh space. The convergence analysis and error estimation of the algorithm are given for the case of conforming elements. Furthermore, the Mgorithm produces a numerical solution with the optimal asymptotic H^2-error. Finally, we give a numerical illustration to demonstrate the effectiveness of the two-grid algorithm for solving the Navier-Stokes equations.

Modified two-grid method for solving coupled Navier-Stokes/Darcy model based on Newton iteration

A new decoupled two-gird algorithm with the Newton iteration is proposed for solving the coupled Navier-Stokes/Darcy model which describes a fluid flow filtrating through porous media. Moreover the error estimate is given, which shows that the same order of accuracy can be achieved as solving the system directly in the fine mesh when h = H2. Both theoretical analysis and numerical experiments illustrate the efficiency of the algorithm for solving the coupled problem.

mRNA expression and DNA methylation in three key genes involved in caste differentiation in female honeybees(Apis mellifera)

In honeybee （Apis mellifera） colonies, queens and workers are altemative forms of the adult female honeybee that develop from genetically identical zygotes but that depend on differential nourishment. Queens and workers display distinct morphologies, anatomies and behavior, better known as caste differentiation. Despite some basic insights, the exact mechanism responsible for this phenomenon, especially at the molecular level, remains unclear although some progress has been achieved. In this study, we examined mRNA levels of the TOR （target of rapamycin） and Dnmt3 （DNA methyltransferase 3） genes, closely related to caste differentiation in honeybees. We also investigated mRNA expression of the S6K （similar to RPS6-p70-protein kinase） gene linked closely to organismal growth and development in queen and worker larvae （1-day and 3-day old）. Last, we investigated the methylation status of these three genes in corresponding castes. We found no difference in mRNA expression for the three genes between 1st instar queen and worker larvae; however, 3rd instar queen larvae had a higher level of TOR mRNA than worker larvae. Methylation levels of all three genes were lower in queen larvae than worker larvae but the differences were not statistically significant. These findings provide basic data for broadening our understanding of caste differentiation in female honeybees.

Characterization of the Nanoscale Microstructure of an Immersion Silver on Sputtered Copper

Silver has grown its attraction of the scientists in microelectronic field *** deposition of silver onto copper substrates by immersion method has been one of the keen topics. In this study, ethanol was used as the plating solution in which some chemicals were added. The silver deposits were characterized by a field emission scanning electron microscopy （FESEM）, an atom force microscope （AFM）, a transmission electron microscope （TEM） and a selected area electron diffraction （SAED）. It was found that silver immersion using ethanol-based bath has good coverage feature. The highlands of the copper substrate are coated by silver particles whose sizes are around 12 nm, but those sizes at low-lying lands are a little smaller.

Cells are the fundamental units of biological systems and exhibit unique development trajectories and molecular features. Since the inception of the first single-cell RNA technology, technologies related to single-cell sequencing have experienced rapid advancements in recent years. These technologies have expanded horizontally to include single-cell genome, epigenome,proteome, and metabolome, while vertically, they have progressed to integrate multiple omics data and incorporate additional information such as spatial sc RNA-seq and CRISPR screening. Single-cell omics represent a groundbreaking advancement in the biomedical field,offering profound insights into the understanding of complex diseases, including cancers. Here, we comprehensively summarize recent advances in single-cell omics technologies, with a specific focus on the methodology section. This overview aims to guide researchers in selecting appropriate methods for single-cell sequencing and related data analysis.

Cubic metric improvement of aggregated carriers for downlink transmission in LTE-advanced

To meet long term evolution-advanced （LTE-A） requirements of wider bandwidth and maintain backwards compatibility with LTE release 8 （Rel-8） simultaneously, carrier aggregation has been agreed by the third generation partnership project （3GPP）. High cubic metric （CM） values and peak-to-average power ratio （PAPR） of aggregated component carriers （CCs） exists as an unpleasant issue for both uplink and downlink （DL） transmission. For DL transmission, to use distinct cell ID per DL CC to generate DL reference signal （RS） sequence can mitigate this problem but will cause some other issues on the corresponding uplink carrier. This article proposes two approaches to solve the problem of high CM/PAPR by introducing new variables to change the cell-specific DL RS sequence. In both methods, same cell identifier （cell ID） is allocated to all DL CCs. Simulation results show the performance improvements and prove the effectivity of our proposed approaches.
