Mitochondrial superoxide overproduction is believed to be responsible for the neurotoxicity associated with ***-targeted antioxidants,such as MitoQ,have emerged as potentially effective antioxidant *** sulfoxide reductase A(MsrA)is a key mitochondrial-localized endogenous antioxidative enzyme and it can scavenge oxidizing species by catalyzing the methionine(Met)-centered redox cycle(MCRC).In this study,we observed that the natural L-Met acted as a good scavenger for antimycin A-induced mitochondrial superoxide overproduction in PC12 *** antioxidation was largely dependent on the Met oxidase activity of MsrA.S-methyl-L-cysteine(SMLC),a natural analogue of Met that is abundantly found in garlic and cabbage,could activate the Met oxidase activity of MsrA to scavenge free ***,SMLC protected against antimycin A-induced mitochondrial membrane depolarization and alleviated 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium(MPP+)-induced ***,our data highlighted the possibility for SMLC supplement in the detoxication of mitochondrial damage by activating the Met oxidase activity of MsrA.

Conductive polyvinylidene fluoride（PVDF）matrix composites filled with graphited fiber（GF）or carbon fiber（CF）were prepared by the melt-mixing *** breakage and length distribution of the fibers in the polymer matrix were studied by scanning electron microscope（SEM）and optical microscope（OM）observations,respectively. The differences in the positive temperature coefficient（PTC）effects of the composites were mainly attributed to inter-fiber contact *** elimination of the negative temperature coefficient（NTC）effect for CF/PVDF composite was because of an increase in the viscosity of the polymer *** the same filler content,CF could be more effective,to eliminate the NTC effect when compared with *** of 2%CF（mass fraction）in the PVDF composite with 7%GF（mass fraction）could effectively eliminate the NTC phenomenon of the composite.

Results of several Large Eddy Simulations （LES） this article. It is shown that the vegetation can make the flow of open channel flows with non-submerged vegetation are presented in structure in the mainstream direction uniform for both supercritical and subcritical flows. For subcritical flows, the LES results of the ensemble-average of time-averaged velocity distributions at four vertical sections around a single plant are in good agreement with measurements. The velocity sees double peaks at the upper and lower positions of flows. For supercritical flows, the ensemble-average velocities see some discrepancy between LES and measurement results. Some secondary flow eddies appear near the single plant, and they just locate in the positions of the double peaks in stream-wise velocity profiles. It is also found that the vegetation drag coefficient deceases as the Froude number increases.

Sensing mechanism is still a big problem in the field of gas ***-depth study of the sensing mechanism can provide better ideas for the design of sensing materials,and it is also more conducive to the improvement in gas-sensing *** this work,Ag/α-MoO_(3) material was obtained by loading Ag in α-MoO_(3) nanobelts prepared by hydrothermal *** material was characterized by field electron scanning electron microscopy(SEM),high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).Comparing the gas sensing properties of α-MoO_(3) and Ag/α-MoO_(3),it is found that Ag effectively improves the selectivity of the material to H_(2)S at 133℃.The response of the 5 wt% Ag/α-MoO_(3) sensor to 100 × 10-6 hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S) is 225 and the detection limit is 100 ×10^(-9).The sensing mechanism was verified by gas chromatography and mass spectrometer(GC-MS),XPS and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR).

The solvation of protonated methanol by carbon dioxide has been studied via a cluster model. Quantum chemical calculations of the H+(CH3OH)(CO2)n (n=1–7) clusters indicate that the first solvation shell of the OH groups is completed at n=3 or 4. Besides hydrogen-bond interaction, the CCO2 ? OCO2intermolecular interaction is also responsible for the stabilization of the larger clusters. The transfer of the proton from methanol onto CO2 with the formation of the OCOH+ moiety might be unfavorable in the early stage of solvation process. Simulated IR spectra reveal that vibrational frequencies of free O–H stretching, hydrogen-bonded O–H stretching, and O–C–O stretching of CO2 unit afford the sensitive probe for exploring the solvation of protonated methanol by carbon dioxide. IR spectra for the H+(CH3OH)(CO2)n (n=1–7) clusters could be readily measured by the infrared photodissociation technique and thus provide useful information for the understanding of solvation processes.

The title compound C18H16N4O2S has been synthesized by the reaction of 4-amino-3-（4-ethoxyphenyl）-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole with phenoxyacetic acid in phospho- rus oxychloride, and characterized by IR, NMR spectra and elemental analysis. Its structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 1.4903（3）, b = 1.5230（2）, c = 0.9615（16） nm, Z = 4, V = 1.7769（5） nm^3, Dc = 1.317 g/cm^3, μ = 0.201 mm^-1, F（000） = 736, R = 0.0795 and wR = 0.2233. In the title compound, all rings are essentially planar.

Effect of dietary defatted diatom biomass on egg production and quality of laying hens

Background： This study was to determine if feeding laying hens with defatted diatom microalgal biomass （DFA） from biofuel production affected their egg production and health status. Methods： Five replicates of 5 individually caged ISA Babcock White leghorn hens were fed 4 diets, including a corn-soybean meal control diet, a diet containing 7.5% DFA substituting for soybean meal, and diets containing 7.5% or 15% DFA substituting for corn and soybean meal. Body weights, feed intake, feed conversion ratio （FCR）, rate of egg production, egg size, egg mass, and several characteristics of eggs were determined at 4 and 8 wk. Venous blood was sampled at 4 and 8 wk for measurement of 5 biomarkers of health. Results： The15% DFA diet decreased （P 〈 0.05） feed intake, egg production, and plasma uric acid concentrations as compared with the control diet, but increased （P 〈 0.05） egg albumen weight and height compared with the 7.5% DFA diets. The two levels of DFA produced dose-dependent （P 〈 0.05） changes in three color measures of egg yolk, without affecting four hen plasma biochemical indicators of health. Conclusions： Feeding laying hens with 7.5% DFA in the corn-soybean meal diet for 8 wk had no adverse effect on their health, egg production, or egg quality, but 15% inclusion reduced feed intake, egg production, and efficiency of feed utilization.

AIM: To investigate the characteristics of postoperative central visual field defect(cVFD) in patients with macular hole(MH).METHODS: Eighteen eyes from 18 MH patients were involved in this retrospective study which reviewed square root of loss variance(sLV) and mean defect(MD) of the visual field test in all subjects. The relationship between cVFD and MH stage, as well as the postoperative ellipsoid zone disruption were evaluated using Spearman's correlation test. RESULTS: Our analysis determined Spearman coefficient is 0.705 for the correlation between sLV and MH stage(P<0.01), 0.877 for the correlation between sLV and postoperative ellipsoid zone disruption(P<0.01) and 0.721 for the correlation between MD and postoperative ellipsoid zone disruption(P<0.01). A significant relationship was also detected between postoperative ellipsoid zone disruption and MH stage(r=0.470, P<0.05). Univariate regression analysis indicated that sLV and MD were associated with postoperative ellipsoid zone disruption(P<0.01, P<0.01, respectively). CONCLUSION: Postoperative cVFD is highly correlated with MH stage and postoperative ellipsoid zone disruption in patients with MH.
