Research progress and challenges in stem cell therapy for diabetic foot: Bibliometric analysis and perspectives

BACKGROUND Stem cell therapy has shown great potential for treating diabetic foot(DF).AIM To conduct a bibliometric analysis of studies on the use of stem cell therapy for DF over the past two decades,with the aim of depicting the current global research landscape,identifying the most influential research hotspots,and providing insights for future research directions.METHODS We searched the Web of Science Core Collection database for all relevant studies on the use of stem cell therapy in DF.Bibliometric analysis was carried out using CiteSpace,VOSviewer,and R(4.3.1)to identify the most notable studies.RESULTS A search was conducted to identify publications related to the use of stem cells for DF treatment.A total of 542 articles published from 2000 to 2023 were identified.The United States had published the most papers on this subject.In this field,Iran’s Shahid Beheshti University Medical Sciences demonstrated the highest productivity.Furthermore,Dr.Bayat from the same university has been an outstanding researcher in this field.Stem Cell Research&Therapy is the journal with the highest number of publications in this field.The main keywords were“diabetic foot ulcers,”“wound healing,”and“angiogenesis.”CONCLUSION This study systematically illustrated the advances in the use of stem cell therapy to treat DF over the past 23 years.Current research findings suggested that the hotspots in this field include stem cell dressings,exosomes,wound healing,and adipose-derived stem cells.Future research should also focus on the clinical translation of stem cell therapies for DF.

A green efficient photoredox-catalyzed decarboxylative alkynylation of carboxylic acids with alkynyl bromides has been developed.This broadly applicable protocol is presented whereinα-amino,aliphatic andα-oxy acids are converted into useful alkynylation products.The commercially-available organic photocatalyst 4CzIPN is used as the photocatalyst,organic base DBU is utilized as the base,and DMSO serves as solvent.This strategy features mild conditions,is metal-free,and is environmentally friendly.The batch and continuous-flow protocols described were applied to obtain a broader substrate scope of functionalization(more than 50 examples).Furthermore,we demonstrate that the use of microflow technology enhanced and intensified the reaction process,achieving significantly reduced reaction times(i.e.,10 min of residence time).

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is associated with mutations in lipopolysaccharide-binding protein(LBP),but the underlying epigenetic mechanisms remain understudied.Herein,LBP^(-/-)rats with NAFLD were established and used to conduct integrative targetingactive enhancer histone H3 lysine 27 acetylation(H3K27ac)chromatin immunoprecipitation coupled with high-throughput and transcriptomic sequencing analysis to explore the potential epigenetic pathomechanisms of active enhancers of NAFLD exacerbation upon LBP deficiency.Notably,LBP^(-/-)reduced the inflammatory response but markedly aggravated high-fat diet(HFD)-induced NAFLD in rats,with pronounced alterations in the histone acetylome and regulatory transcriptome.In total,1128 differential enhancer-target genes significantly enriched in cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism were identified between wild-type(WT)and LBP^(-/-)NAFLD rats.Based on integrative analysis,CCAAT/enhancer-binding proteinβ(C/EBPβ)was identified as a pivotal transcription factor(TF)and contributor to dysregulated histone acetylome H3K27ac,and the lipid metabolism gene SCD was identified as a downstream effector exacerbating NAFLD.This study not only broadens our understanding of the essential role of LBP in the pathogenesis of NAFLD from an epigenetics perspective but also identifies key TF C/EBPβand functional gene SCD as potential regulators and therapeutic targets.

Photocatalyzed alkylsulfonylation of unactivated alkenes using DABCO.(SO_(2))_(2) and thianthrenium salts via a distal heteroaryl migration process has been developed,which provides a new means of synthesizing a variety of valuable alkylsulfonyl-substituted compounds.These alkylsulfonyl radicals couple with unactivated alkenes to undergo efficient intermolecular reactions,followed by distal heteroaryl migration.This mild catalytic method is tolerant of functional groups and affords medicinally relevant alkylsulfonylated heterocycles.

In this article,an adaptive security control scheme is presented for cyber-physical systems(CPSs)suffering from false data injection(FDI)attacks and time-varying state constraints.Firstly,an adaptive bound estimation mechanism is introduced in the backstepping control design to mitigate the effect of FDI attacks.Secondly,to solve the unknown sign time-varying statefeedback gains aroused by the FDI attacks,a type of Nussbaum function is employed in the adaptive security control.Then,by constructing a barrier Lyapunov function,it can be ensured that all signals of controlled system are bounded and the time-varying state constraints are not transgressed.Finally,the provided simulation examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

This comprehensive review elucidates the complex interplay between gut microbiota and constipation in Parkinson’s disease(PD),a prevalent non-motor symptom contributing significantly to patients’morbidity.A marked alteration in the gut microbiota,predominantly an increase in the abundance of Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes,is observed in PD-related constipation.Conventional treatments,although safe,have failed to effectively alleviate symptoms,thereby necessitating the development of novel therapeutic strategies.Microbiological interventions such as prebiotics,probiotics,and fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)hold therapeutic potential.While prebiotics improve bowel movements,probiotics are effective in enhancing stool consistency and alleviating abdominal discomfort.FMT shows potential for significantly alleviating constipation symptoms by restoring gut microbiota balance in patients with PD.Despite promising developments,the causal relationship between changes in gut microbiota and PD-related constipation remains elusive,highlighting the need for further research in this expanding field.

Evolution of interfacial heat transfer,contact behavior and microstructure during sub-rapid solidification of molten steel with different hydrogen contents

Typical Q235 low-carbon steel samples with different hydrogen contents(0.0004,0.0008,and 0.0013 wt.%)were prepared by adjusting the environment humidity and moisture.The effects of hydrogen on interfacial heat transfer,contact behavior,and microstructure evolution were investigated using a novel droplet solidification technique.The results revealed that when the hydrogen content increases from 0.0004 to 0.0013 wt.%,the maximum heat flux between the molten steel and cooling substrate decreases from 8.01 to 6.19 MW/m^(2),and the total heat removed in the initial 2 s reduces from 10.30 to 8.27 MJ/m^(2).Moreover,the final contact angle between the molten steel and substrate increases from 103.741°to 113.697°,and the number of pores on the droplet bottom surface increases significantly from 21 to 210 with the increase in hydrogen.The surface roughness of the droplet bottom surface increases from 20.902 to 49.181 pm.In addition,the average grain size of the droplet increases from 14.778 to 33.548 pm with the increase in the hydrogen content.The interfacial contact condition becomes worse due to the escape of hydrogen from the steel matrix during the cooling process,which leads to the reduction in the interfacial heat transfer and the increase in the grain size.

Enantioselective radical desymmetrization is a highly effective approach for rapidly creating enantioenriched molecules,introducing dramatically increased structural complexity from readily available prochiral or meso compound feedstocks.Two strategic modes have been developed for these reactions,which differ in the nature of the stereo-determining steps.The first category deals primarily with the stereoselective desymmetrization of closed-shell radical precursors or functional reagents,whereas the second category achieves desymmetrization by stereoselectively functionalizing open-shell radical species.This mini-review explores the research progress in this growing field,aiming to elucidate mechanistic scenarios related to stereochemical control.Additionally,it offers insights into the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for further development.

The performance of turbomachinery is largely affected by the nonuniform boundary conditions caused by the coupling between neighboring parts,such as the inlet distortion and hot streak.Existing works study this problem by comparing the flow fields with uniform and nonuniform boundary conditions,which is cost extensive.In this work a new and efficient method is developed by computing the sensitivities of arbitrary performance metric relative to the boundary conditions and this method quantitatively describes how the disturbance on the boundary surface affects the performance.The adjoint method popular in the design optimization is extended to current field for the efficient computation of the sensitivity.The extra cost is independent of the number of parameters describing the nonuniform distribution.Accuracy of the adjoint boundary sensitivity is validated against analytical results for a converging–diverging nozzle case.Its applications in a representative case are detailed and discussed in this paper.Current method provides a new tool,also direct guides to minimize the negative effect and improve the performance utilizing the adjoint boundary sensitivity.
