Natural product curcumin-based coordination nanoparticles for treating osteoarthritis via targeting Nrf2 and blocking NLRP3 inflammasome

Oxidative stress leads to chondrocyte apoptosis and extracellular matrix(ECM)degradation,thus contributing to the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis(OA).Herein,curcumin with remarkable antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities has been employed as an organic ligand to coordinate ferric ions for enhancing the water-solubility and biocompatibility of natural product *** obtained iron-curcumin-based coordination nanoparticles(Fe-Cur NPs)exhibit great water-solubility and efficient reactive oxygen/nitrogen species(ROS/RNS)scavenging *** vitro chondrocyte evaluation experiments indicated that the intracellular ROS/RNS induced by interleukin 1β(IL-1β)could be efficiently scavenged by these Fe-Cur NPs and oxidative-stressinduced cell death could be preserved as *** addition,post intra-articular(i.a.)injection into OA rat joints,Fe-Cur NPs could greatly inhibit OA progression via activating the nuclear factor-erythroid 2 related factor-2(Nrf2)and inhibiting nod-like receptor protein-3(NLRP3)inflammasome activation in primary rat chondrocytes,as well as decrease the production of matrix degrading proteases and other inflammatory *** efficient antioxidation and anti-inflammation performance of Fe-Cur NPs endow them as a promising nanoplatform for treatment of various inflammatory diseases,and more detailed researches will be conducted in the future.

Oxidative stress,due to the disruption of the balance between reactive oxygen species(ROS)generation and the antioxidant defense system,plays an important role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Excessive ROS leads to the loss of biological molecules and cellular functions,release of many inflammatory mediators,stimulate the polarization of macrophages,and aggravate the inflammatory response,thus promoting osteoclasts and bone ***,foreign antioxidants would effectively treat ***,ultrasmall iron-quercetin natural coordination nanoparticles(Fe-Qur NCNs)with excellent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties were constructed to effectively treat ***-Qur NCNs obtained by simple mixing retain the inherent ability to remove ROS of quercetin and have a better water-solubility and *** vitro experiments showed that Fe-Qur NCNs could effectively remove excess ROS,avoid cell apoptosis,and inhibit the polarization of inflammatory macrophages by reducing the activation of the nuclear factor-κ-gene binding(NF-κB)*** vivo experiments showed that the swollen joints of mice with rheumatoid arthritis treated with Fe-Qur NCNs significantly improved,with Fe-Qur NCNs largely reducing inflammatory cell infiltration,increasing antiinflammatory macrophage phenotypes,and thus inhibiting osteoclasts,which led to bone *** study demonstrated that the new metal-natural coordination nanoparticles could be an effective therapeutic agent for the prevention of RA and other diseases associated with oxidative stress.

Photosynthetic and Respiratory Acclimation to Experimental Warming for Four SpeCies in a Tallgrass Prairie Ecosystem

Global temperature has been Increased by 0.6 ℃ over the past century and is predicted to Increase by 1.4-5.8 ℃ by the end of this century. It is unclear what impacts global warming will have on tallgrass species. In the present study, we examined leaf net photosynthetic rate （P.） and leaf respiration rate in darkness （Rd） of Aster erlcoldes （L.） Nesom, Ambrosia psllostachya DC., Helianthus mollis Lam., and Sorghastrum nutans （L.） Nash In response to experimental warming in a tallgrass prairie ecosystem of the Great Plains, USA, in the autumn （fall） of 2000 and through 2001. Warming has been Implemented with infrared heaters since 21 November 1999. The P. increased significantly In spring, decreased in early fall, and did not change in summer and late fall in the four species under warming compared with control. The Rd of the four species increased significantly until mid-summer and then did not change under warming. Measured temperature-response curves of P. showed that warming Increased the optimum temperature of P. （Topt） by 2.32 and 4.59 ℃ for H. mollis and S. nutans, respectively, in August, whereas there were no changes in May and September, and A. ericoldes and A. psllostachya also showed no changes in any of the 3 months. However, P. at optimum temperature （Popt） showed downregulation in September and no regulation in May and August for all four species. The temperature-response curves of Rd Illustrate that the temperature sensitivity of Rd, Q10, was lower in the warmed plots compared with the control plots, except for A. ericoides in August, whereas there were no changes In May and September for all four species. The results of the present study indicate that photosynthetic and respiratory acclimation varies with species and among seasons, occurring In the mid-growing season and not in the early and late growing seasons.

Numerical simulation of inlet placement on sewage characteristics in the rounded square aquaculture tank with single inlet

To improve the self-cleaning ability of aquaculture tank and the efficiency of circulating water, physical and numerical experiments were conducted on the influence of inlet structure on sewage discharge in a rounded square aquaculture tank with a single inlet. Based on the physical model of the tank, analysis of how inlet structure adjustment affects sewage discharge efficiency and flow field characteristics was conducted to provide suitable flow field conditions for sinkable solid particle discharge. In addition, an internal flow field simulation was conducted using the RNG k-ε turbulence model in hydraulic drive mode. Then a solid-fluid multiphase model was created to investigate how the inlet structure affects sewage collection in the rounded square aquaculture tank with single inlet and outlet. The finding revealed that the impact of inlet structure is considerably affecting sewage collection. The conditions of C/B=0.07–0.11 (the ratio of horizontal distance between the center of the inlet pipe and the tank wall (C) to length of the tank (B)) and α=25° (α is the angle between the direction of the jet and the tangential direction of the arc angle) resulted in optimal sewage collection, which is similar to the flow field experiment in the rounded square aquaculture tank with single inlet and outlet. An excellent correlation was revealed between sewage collection and fluid circulation stability in the aquaculture tank. The present study provided a reference for design and optimization of circulating aquaculture tanks in aquaculture industry.

目的研究老年腰椎压缩性骨折患者进行胸椎MRI检查的必要性。方法选取自2018-01—2023-03于苏州大学附属第二医院采用经皮穿刺椎体成形术(Percutaneous vertebroplasty,PVP)或经皮椎体后凸成形术(Percutanous kyphoplasty,PKP)治疗的1504例腰椎骨折。术前均进行了胸腰椎X线、CT及MRI检查。根据患者年龄,以10年为年龄段进行整理统计,分析每个年龄段腰椎骨折患者同时合并胸椎新发骨折的数量和比例。同时统计各节段腰椎骨折合并胸椎新发骨折的数量和比例,以及常见合并胸椎新发骨折的位置、数量和比例。结果共纳入1504例(笔者所在医院腰椎MRI检查可以包含T_(11)~L_(5)椎体),女1158例,男346例;年龄(73.42±4.38)岁。有196例(13.03%)合并胸椎新发骨折。以10年为一个年龄段进行整理统计,51~>90岁患者中各年龄段的胸椎新发骨折检出率均≥10%。分别对T_(11)至L_(5)各骨折节段进行分析,除T_(12)、L_(1)及L_(2)椎体外,其余所有节段合并胸椎新发骨折比率均≥10%。合并胸椎新发骨折好发部位排名前三的是T_(10)(55椎,24.66%)、T_(9)(49椎,21.97%)和T_(8)(47椎,21.08%)。结论老年腰椎压缩性骨折患者可能会同时合并胸椎骨折,因此有必要对这类患者同时进行胸椎MRI检查,以评估整体脊柱情况。

Late Mesoproterozoic to Early Neoproterozoic Tectonic Evolution of the SW Yangtze Block, South China: Evidence from U-Pb Geochronology and Lu-Hf Isotopes of Detrital Zircons from Sedimentary Rocks

In situ zircon U-Pb geochronological and Lu-Hf isotope studies of detrital zircons from Late Mesoproterozoic to Early Neoproterozoic sedimentary units on the southwestern margin of the Yangtze Block have important implications for the tectonic evolution of the Yangtze *** Huili Group contains zircons whose ages are mainly Late Archean to Mesoproterozoic(2650-2450,2100-1800,and 1350-1150 Ma).The Dengxiangying Group has one major age population of 1900-1600 Ma,and two subordinate age populations of 1350-1100 and 2300-2000 *** Group sedimentary rocks have a zircon age population mainly in the range of 970-850 Ma,contemporaneous with the ages of widespread arc-related magmatism in the western Yangtze *** these results with previous work,the Huili and Dengxiangying groups were most likely deposited during ca.1160 to 1000 Ma in an intra-continental rift basin setting,while the Yanbian Group accumulated during>920 to 782 Ma in a back-arc basin setting at the southwestern margin of the Yangtze *** addition,all these results further suggest a tectonic transition from a continental rift basin to a convergent environment at the southwestern margin of the Yangtze Block at 1000-970 Ma.

This paper presents a novel watermarking scheme designed to address the copyright protection challenges encountered with Neural radiation field(NeRF)*** employ an embedding network to integrate the watermark into the images within the training ***,theNeRFmodel is utilized for *** copyright verification,a secret image is generated by inputting a confidential viewpoint into *** this basis,design an extraction network to extract embedded watermark images fromconfidential *** the event of suspicion regarding the unauthorized usage of NeRF in a black-box scenario,the verifier can extract the watermark from the confidential viewpoint to authenticate the model’s *** experimental results demonstrate not only the production of visually appealing watermarks but also robust resistance against various types of noise attacks,thereby substantiating the effectiveness of our approach in safeguarding NeRF.
