Neutrophils constitute a significant portion of the immune cells present within the tumor microenvironment.Evidence generated by our group has confirmed neutrophils to be an adverse independent prognostic factor affecting the disease-free survival of gastric carcinoma(GC)patients.1 Neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs),protein-covered DNA webs that interact with tumor cells in the tumor microenvironment,were detected in GC tissues and found to clinically associated with disease progression in our previous study.2 NETosis could be mediated by a series of agonists,such as interleukin 8(IL-8).3 However,the mechanism of IL-8 in the progression of GC occurs via NETs remains unclear.In this study,we identified that IL-8-mediated NETosis can promote the proliferation,migration,and invasion of GC cells in vitro,which can be abrogated by NET degradation through deoxyribonucleaseI(DNase I)or IL-8 suppression through neutralizing antibodies.Disruption of NETs by DNase I or blockade of the IL-8-CXC chemokine receptor 2(CXCR2)axis could result in growth retardation in mouse models.We also confirmed that NETs may influence the biological behavior of GC cells by up-regulating the expression of transcription factor IB-related factor 1(BRF1)and cyclin p21/p27.

This paper aimed to propose two algorithms,DA-M and RF-M,of reducing the impact of multipath interference(MPI)on intensity modulation direct detection(IM-DD)systems,particularly for four-level pulse amplitude modulation(PAM4)systems.DA-M reduced the fluctuation by averaging the signal in blocks,RF-M estimated MPI by subtracting the decision value of the corresponding block from the mean value of a signal block,and then generated interference-reduced samples by subtracting the interference signal from the product of the corresponding MPI estimate and then weighting factor.This paper firstly proposed to separate the signal before decision-making into multiple blocks,which significantly reduced the complexity of DA-M and RF-M.Simulation results showed that the MPI noise of 28 GBaud IMDD system under the linewidths of 1e5 Hz,1e6 Hz and 10e6 Hz can be effectively alleviated.

Landscape ecological risk assessment and its driving factors in the weihe River basin,China

weihe River basin is of great significance to analyze the changes of land use pattern and landscape ecological risk and to improve the ecological basis of regional development.Based on land use data of the weihe River basin in 2000,2010,and 2020,with the support of Aeronautical Reconnaissance Coverage Geographic Information System(ArcGIS),GeoDa,and other technologies,this study analyzed the spatial-temporal characteristics and driving factors of land use pattern and landscape ecological risk.Results showed that land use structure of the weihe River basin has changed significantly,with the decrease of cropland and the increase of forest land and construction land.In the past 20 a,cropland has decreased by 7347.70 km2,and cropland was mainly converted into forest land,grassland,and construction land.The fragmentation and dispersion of ecological landscape pattern in the weihe River basin were improved,and land use pattern became more concentrated.Meanwhile,landscape ecological risk of the weihe River basin has been improved.Severe landscape ecological risk area decreased by 19,177.87 km2,high landscape ecological risk area decreased by 3904.35 km2,and moderate and low landscape ecological risk areas continued to increase.It is worth noting that landscape ecological risks in the upper reaches of the weihe River basin are still relatively serious,especially in the contiguous areas of high ecological risk,such as Tianshui,Pingliang,Dingxi areas and some areas of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.Landscape ecological risk showed obvious spatial dependence,and high ecological risk area was concentrated.Among the driving factors,population density,precipitation,normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI),and their interactions are the most important factors affecting the landscape ecological risk of the weihe River basin.The findings significantly contribute to our understanding of the ecological dynamics in the weihe River basin,providing crucial insights for sustainable management in the region.

Inherited bacterial symbionts are very common in arthropods, but infection frequency can vary widely among populations. Experiments and interpopulation comparisons suggest that host genetic background might be important in explaining this variation. Our extensive field investigation showed that the infection pattern of the facultative symbiont Cardinium was heterogeneous across geographical populations of the invasive whitefly Bemisia tabaci Mediterranean (MED) in China, with genetic nuclear differences evident in 2 of the populations: 1 with a low infection rate (SD line) and 1 with a high infection rate (HaN line). However, whether the heterogeneous frequency of Cardinium is associated with the host genetic background remains poorly understood. Here, we compared the fitness of the Cardinium-infected and uninfected sublines with similar nuclear genetic backgrounds from SD and HaN lines, respectively, and further determine whether host extranuclear or nuclear genotype influenced the Cardinium–host phenotype by performing 2 new introgression series of 6 generations between SD and HaN lines (i.e., Cardinium-infected females of SD were backcrossed with uninfected males of HaN, and vice versa). The results showed that Cardinium provides marginal fitness benefits in the SD line, whereas Cardinium provides strong fitness benefits in the HaN line. Further, both Cardinium and the Cardinium–host nuclear interaction influence the fecundity and pre-adult survival rate of B. tabaci, whereas the extranuclear genotype does not. In conclusion, our results provide evidence that Cardinium-mediated fitness effects were closely associated with the host genetic background, which provides a fundamental basis for understanding the mechanism underlying the heterogeneous distribution of Cardinium in B. tabaci MED populations across China.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic,caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),has claimedmillions of lives and caused innumerable economic losses worldwide.Unfortunately,state-of-the-art treatments still lag behind the continual emergence of new variants.Key to resolving this issue is developing antivirals to deactivate coronaviruses regardless of their structural evolution.Here,we report an innovative antiviral strategy involving extracellular disintegration of viral proteins with hyperanion-grafted enediyne(EDY)molecules.The core EDY generates reactive radical species and causes significant damage to the spike protein of coronavirus,while the hyperanion groups ensure negligible cytotoxicity of the molecules.The EDYs exhibit antiviral activity down to nanomolar concentrations,and the selectivity index of up to 20,000 against four kinds of human coronavirus,including the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant,suggesting the high potential of this new strategy in combating the COVID-19 pandemic and a future“disease X.”

为获得加工工艺对高强度钢性能的影响,选取激光选区熔化(selective laser melting,SLM)和锻造工艺加工弹丸,通过镜像观测、准静态、SHPB和混凝土侵彻等研究手段,对比分析了三种SLM制造工艺以及锻造工艺对于15-5PH钢性能的影响.结果表明,SLM技术细化了15-5PH钢组织的晶粒,SLM成型的15-5PH钢力学性能有提升,其中SLM-B工艺的提升效果明显,SLM-B成型的15-5PH钢的准静态屈服强度相较于锻造工艺提升幅度达13.1%;其动态屈服强度相较于锻造工艺钢提高了9.0%;且SLM-B工艺对弹丸抗磨蚀性能最好.试验结果表明SLM工艺提高了15-5PH钢力学性能和抗磨蚀能力.

本文基于高铁开通这一准自然实验,使用2012~2022年我国深圳证券交易所A股上市公司作为研究样本,构建双重差分模型探究高铁开通对上市公司信息披露质量的影响。研究表明,高铁开通能够显著提高我国上市公司信息披露质量,该结论在控制了内生性问题后依然成立。同时,本文发掘了高铁开通影响信息披露质量的作用机理,结果显示,市场化程度的提升和投资者实地调研次数的增加是高铁开通提高信息披露质量的内在机制。本文研究为交通基础设施建设在促进信息传播和推动资本市场有效性方面提供了微观经验证据。

Chemical cleaning and disinfection are crucial steps for eliminating infection in root canal treatment. However, irrigant selection or irrigation procedures are far from clear. The vapor lock effect in the apical region has yet to be solved, impeding irrigation efficacy and resulting in residual infections and compromised treatment outcomes.

目的:基于网络药理学及动物实验验证探讨毓麟珠改善早发性卵巢功能不全(POI)大鼠的潜在作用机制。方法:采用中药系统药理学数据库与分析平台(TCMSP)数据库筛选毓麟珠中5味核心药物——菟丝子、杜仲、熟地黄、当归、人参的入血活性成分及预测作用靶点,进一步获取药物成分对应靶点及POI靶点,利用微生信平台获取交集靶点,构建蛋白质-蛋白质相互作用网络并筛选出核心靶点,通过DAVID数据库对核心靶点进行基因本体(GO)富集分析及京都基因与基因组百科全书(KEGG)通路富集分析;依据KEGG通路分析结果,选择缺氧诱导因子1(HIF1)信号通路进行动物体内实验验证。结果:筛选出的活性成分主要包括槲皮素、山柰酚、β-谷甾醇、β-胡萝卜素、豆甾醇、芝麻素等。与疾病相关的候选作用靶点共103个,关键靶点涉及蛋白激酶(AKT1)、窖蛋白(CAV1)、雌激素受体1(ESR1)、Ras同源基因家族成员A(RHOA)等,主要参与细胞增殖、介导雌激素发挥生物学作用、细胞信号转导等生物过程。动物实验验证了毓麟珠干预后可改善POI大鼠的血清激素水平,降低HIF1α的蛋白表达水平。结论:毓麟珠通过多靶点、多途径作用于POI,且毓麟珠可能通过HIF1通路改善POI大鼠的卵巢功能。
