Efficient reduction and adsorption of Cr(Ⅵ)using FeCl_(3)-modified biochar:Synergistic roles of persistent free radicals and Fe(Ⅱ)

Transition metal iron and persistent free radicals(PFRs)both affect the redox properties of biochar,but the electron transfer relationship between them and the coupling reduction mechanism of Cr(Ⅵ)requires further *** untangle the interplay between iron and PFRs in biochar and the infuences on redox properties,FeCl_(3)-modified rice husk biochar(FBCs)was prepared and its reduction mechanism for Cr(Ⅵ)without light was *** FBCs had higher surface positive charges,oxygen-containing functional groups,and PFRs compared with pristine rice husk biochar(BC).Phenoxyl PFRs with high electrondonating capability formed in *** pronounced electron paramagnetic resonance signals showed that the PFRs preferred to form at lower Fe(Ⅲ)*** a high concentration of Fe(Ⅲ)would be reduced to Fe(Ⅱ)and consumed the formed *** kinetics and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis indicated that the FBCs effectively enhanced the Cr(Ⅵ)removal efficiency by 1.54-8.20 fold and the Cr(Ⅵ)reduction efficiency by 1.88-9.29 fold compared to those of *** quenching and competitive reductant addition experiments revealed that the higher Cr(Ⅵ)reduction performance of FBCs was mainly attributed to the formed PFRs,which could contribute to~74.0%of Cr(Ⅵ)reduction by direct or indirect electron *** PFRs on FBCs surfaces could promote the Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ)cycle through single electron transfer and synergistically accelerate~52.3%of Cr(Ⅵ)*** study provides an improved understanding of the reduction mechanism of iron-modified biochar PFRs on Cr(Ⅵ)in environments.

An adaptive physics-informed deep learning method for pore pressure prediction using seismic data

Accurate prediction of formation pore pressure is essential to predict fluid flow and manage hydrocarbon production in petroleum *** deep learning technique has been receiving more interest due to the great potential to deal with pore pressure ***,most of the traditional deep learning models are less efficient to address generalization *** fill this technical gap,in this work,we developed a new adaptive physics-informed deep learning model with high generalization capability to predict pore pressure values directly from seismic ***,the new model,named CGP-NN,consists of a novel parametric features extraction approach(1DCPP),a stacked multilayer gated recurrent model(multilayer GRU),and an adaptive physics-informed loss *** machine training,the developed model can automatically select the optimal physical model to constrain the results for each pore pressure *** CGP-NN model has the best generalization when the physicsrelated metricλ=0.5.A hybrid approach combining Eaton and Bowers methods is also proposed to build machine-learnable labels for solving the problem of few *** validate the developed model and methodology,a case study on a complex reservoir in Tarim Basin was further performed to demonstrate the high accuracy on the pore pressure prediction of new wells along with the strong generalization *** adaptive physics-informed deep learning approach presented here has potential application in the prediction of pore pressures coupled with multiple genesis mechanisms using seismic data.

Influence of cutterhead opening ratio on soil arching effect and face stability during tunnelling through non-uniform soils

Tunnelling has increasingly become an essential tool in the exploration of underground space.A typical construction problem is the face instability during tunnelling,posing a great threat to associated *** face instability often occurs with the soil arching *** study investigates the combined effect of cutterhead opening ratio and soil non-uniformity on soil arching effect and face stability,via conducting random finite-element analysis coupled with Monte–Carlo *** results underscore that the face stability is strongly associated with the evolution of stress *** obtained stability factors in the uniform soils can serve as a reference for the design of support pressure in practical tunnelling *** addition,non-uniform soils exhibit a lower stability factor than uniform soils,which implies that the latter likely yields an underestimated probability of face *** tunnel face is found to have a probability of failure more than 50%if the spatial non-uniformity of soil is *** the end,a practical framework is established to determine factor of safety(FOS)corresponding to different levels of probability of face failure considering various opening ratios in non-uniform *** required FOS is 1.70 to limit the probability of face instability no more than 0.1%.Our findings can facilitate the prediction of probability of instability in the conventionally deterministic design of face pressure.

Preparation of Modified UiO-66 Catalyst and Its Catalytic Performance for NH_(3)-SCR Denitration

Zirconium-based metal-organic framework UiO-66 was successfully prepared by solvothermal method,and UiO-66 was modified by adding regulators such as formic acid,acetic acid,and hydrochloric *** NH_(3)-SCR reactivity of the samples was evaluated by the denitration activity evaluation system,and the UiO-66 and the regulator-modified UiO-66 were characterized by XRD,SEM,BET,FTIR,TG,NH_(3)-TPD,etc.,the effects of regulator types on the structure and properties of UiO-66 were *** experimental results show that,after adding the modifier,the morphology of UiO-66 changes from irregular quadrilateral with serious agglomeration to particles with regular crystal shape and good dispersibility,and the crystal morphology of the catalyst is *** addition,after adding the modifier,UiO-66 has a larger specific surface area and stronger surface acidity,which optimizes the catalytic performance of *** catalytic performance test results of NH_(3)-SCR show that the low-temperature activity of UiO-66 is poor,and it only shows a certain catalytic activity at higher *** catalytic activity of UiO-66 was significantly improved after adding the *** them,the UiO-66-HCl modified with hydrochloric acid had the best catalytic activity,and the denitration rate reached 70%when the denitration temperature was 380℃.

Sources appointment and health risks of PM_(2.5)-bound trace elements in a coastal city of southeastern China

To gain a comprehensive understanding of sources and health risks of trace elements in an area of China with high population densities and low PM_(2.5)concentrations,15 trace elements(Al,K,Ca,Ti,V,Cr,Mn,Fe,Ni,Cu,Zn,As,Sn,Ba,Pb)in PM_(2.5)were monitored from December 2020 to November 2021 in a representative city,*** concentrations of trace elements in Xiamen displayed an obvious seasonal variation and were dominated by K,Fe,Al,Ca and *** on Positive Matrix Factorization analysis,source appointment revealed that the major sources of trace elements in Xiamen were traffic,dust,biomass and firework combustion,industrial manufacture and shipping *** to health risk assessment combined with the source appointment results,it indicated that the average noncarcinogenic risk was below the threshold and cancer risk of four hazardous metals(Cr,Ni,As,Pb)exceeded the threshold(10^(-6)).Traffic-related source had almost half amount of contribution to the health risk induced by PM_(2.5)-bound trace *** the dust transport period or Spring Festival period,the health risks exceeded an acceptable threshold even an order of magnitude higher,suggesting that the serious health risks still existed in low PM_(2.5)environment at certain *** risk assessment reminded that the health risk reduction in PM_(2.5)at southeastern China should prioritize traffic-related hazardous trace elements and highlighted the importance of controlling vehicles emissions in the future.

Distributed phase-matching measurement for dynamic strain and temperature sensing based on stimulated Brillouin scattering enhanced four-wave mixing

A Brillouin dynamic grating(BDG) can be used for distributed birefringence measurement in optical fibers,offering high sensitivity and spatial resolution for sensing ***,it is quite a challenge to simultaneously achieve dynamic measurements with both high accuracy and high spatial *** this work,we propose a sensing mechanism to achieve distributed phase-matching measurement using a chirped pulse as a probe *** BDG reflection,the peak reflection corresponds to the highest four-wave mixing(FWM) conversion efficiency,and it requires the Brillouin frequency in the fast and slow axes to be equal,which is called the phase-matching *** condition changes at different fiber positions,which requires a range of frequency injection for the probe *** proposed method uses a chirped pulse as a probe wave to cover this frequency range associated with distributed birefringence *** allows us to detect distributed phase matching for birefringence changes that are introduced by temperature and strain *** to the single shot and direct time delay measurement capability,the acquisition rate in our system is only limited by the fiber ***,unlike conventional BDG spectrum recovery-based systems,the spatial resolution here is determined by both the frequency chirping rate of the probe pulse and the birefringence profile of the *** the experiments,an acquisition rate of 1 k Hz(up to fiber length limits) and a spatial resolution of 10 cm using a 20 ns probe pulse width are *** minimum detectable temperature and strain variation are 5.6 mK and 0.37 με along a 2 km long polarization-maintaining fiber(PMF).

Influenza A virus(IAV)continues to pose a pandemic threat to public health,resulting a high mortality rate annually and during pandemic *** modification of viral protein plays a substantial role in regulating IAV ***,based on immunoprecipitation(IP)-based mass spectrometry(MS)and purified virus-coupled MS,a total of 89 phosphorylation sites distributed among 10 encoded viral proteins of IAV were identified,including 60 novel phosphorylation ***,for the first time,we provide evidence that PB2 can also be acetylated at site ***,the PB2 S181 phosphorylation site was consistently identified in both IP-based MS and purified virus-based *** S181 and K187 are exposed on the surface of the PB2 protein and are highly conserved in various IAV strains,suggesting their fundamental importance in the IAV life *** analysis results demonstrated that S181E/A and K187Q/R mimic mutations do not significantly alter the PB2 protein *** continuous phosphorylation mimicked by the PB2 S181E mutation substantially decreases viral fitness in mice,PB2 K187Q mimetic acetylation slightly enhances viral virulence in ***,PB2 S181E substantially impairs viral polymerase activity and viral replication,remarkably dampens protein stability and nuclear accumulation of PB2,and significantly weakens IAV-induced inflammatory ***,our study further enriches the database of phosphorylation and acetylation sites of influenza viral proteins,laying a foundation for subsequent mechanistic ***,the unraveled antiviral effect of PB2 S181E mimetic phosphorylation may provide a new target for the subsequent study of antiviral drugs.

Beamspace maximum likelihood algorithm based on sum and difference beams for elevation estimation

Beamspace super-resolution methods for elevation estimation in multipath environment has attracted significant attention, especially the beamspace maximum likelihood(BML)algorithm. However, the difference beam is rarely used in superresolution methods, especially in low elevation estimation. The target airspace information in the difference beam is different from the target airspace information in the sum beam. And the use of difference beams does not significantly increase the complexity of the system and algorithms. Thus, this paper applies the difference beam to the beamformer to improve the elevation estimation performance of BML algorithm. And the direction and number of beams can be adjusted according to the actual needs. The theoretical target elevation angle root means square error(RMSE) and the computational complexity of the proposed algorithms are analyzed. Finally, computer simulations and real data processing results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

According to the latest global cancer statistics,colorectal cancer(CRC)is the most common malignancy of the digestive system and the second most lethal among all cancer types(1).In China,CRC is the second most prevalent cancer,following only after lung cancer(2).The first version of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO)guideline was launched in 2017 and has been updated annually based on the latest findings of clinical research,drug accessibility and expert consensus(3-8).Here,we present the main updates of the 2024 version compared to the 2023 version.
