Development of underwater electric manipulator based on interventional autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV)

In applications such as marine rescue,marine science,archaeology,and offshore industries,autonomous underwater vehicles(AUVs)are frequently used for survey missions and monitoring tasks,with most operations being performed by manned submersibles or remotely operated vehicles(ROVs)equipped with robotic arms,as they can be operated remotely for days without ***,they require expensive marine vessels and specialist pilots to operate *** exploring oceans are no longer satisfied with the use of manned submersibles and *** is a growing desire for seabed exploration to be performed using smarter,more flexible,and automated *** improving the field operation and intervention capability of AUVs,large-scale and long-range seafloor exploration and sampling can be performed without the support of a mother ship,making it a more effective,economical,convenient,and rapid means of seafloor exploration and sampling operations,and playing a critical role in marine resource *** this study,we explored the integration technology of underwater electric robotic arms and AUVs and designed a new set of electric manipulators suitable for water depths greater than 500 *** reliability of the key components was analyzed by finite element analysis and,based on the theory of robot kinematics and dynamics,simulations were performed to verify the reliability of the key *** were conducted on land and underwater,trajectory tracking experiments were completed,and the experimental data in air and water were compared and ***,the objectives for further research on the autonomous control of the manipulator underwater were proposed.

Cnoidal waves and their soliton limits in single mode fiber lasers

Cnoidal waves are a type of nonlinear periodic wave solutions of the nonlinear dynamic *** are well known in fluid dynamics,but it is not the case in *** this paper we show both experimentally and numerically that cnoidal waves could be formed in a fiber laser either in the net normal or net anomalous cavity dispersion regime,especially because,as the pump power is increased,the formed cnoidal waves could eventually evolve into a train of bright(in the net anomalous cavity dispersion regime)or dark(in the net normal cavity dispersion regime)*** simulations of the laser operation based on the extended nonlinear Schrödinger equation(NLSE)have well reproduced the experimental *** result not only explains why solitons can still be formed in a fiber laser even without mode locking but also suggests a new effective way of automatic stable periodic pulse train generation in lasers with a nonlinear cavity.

Ovarian cancer is the tumor with the highest mortality among gynecological *** have confirmed that paclitaxel chemoresistance is associated with increased infiltration of tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)in the ***-stimu-lating factor 1(CSF-1)receptor(CSF-1R)plays a key role in regulating the number and differ-entiation of macrophages in certain solid *** are few reports on the effects of targeted inhibition of CSF-1R in combination with chemotherapy on ovarian cancer and the tu-mor ***,we explored the antitumor efficacy and possible mechanisms of the CSF-1R inhibitor pexidartinib(PLX3397)when combined with the first-line chemothera-peutic agent paclitaxel in the treatment of ovarian *** found that CSF-1R is highly ex-pressed in ovarian cancer cells and correlates with poor *** by PLX3397 in combination with paclitaxel significantly inhibited the growth of ovarian cancer both in vitro and in *** of CSF-1R altered the macrophage phenotype and reprogrammed the immunosuppressive cell population in the tumor microenvironment.

Reproduction is of great importance for the continuation of the *** insects,the fat body is the major tissue for nutrient storage and involved in vitellogenesis,which is essential for female ***,2 proteins,hexamerin and allergen,were separated from the fat bodies of adult female American cockroaches(Periplaneta americana)and identified as storage proteins,encoding for 733 amino acids with molecular weight of 87.88 kDa and 686 amino acids with molecular weight of 82.18 kDa,*** encoding genes of these 2 storage proteins are mainly expressed in the fat *** interference-mediated knockdown of Hexamerin and Allergen in the early stage of the first reproductive cycle in females suppressed vitellogenesis and ovarian maturation,indicating that these storage proteins are involved in controlling ***,the expression of Hexamerin and Allergen was repressed by knockdown of the juvenile hormone(JH)receptor gene Met and the primary response gene Kr-h1,and was induced by methoprene,a JH analog,in both in vivo and in vitro ***,we have determined that hexamerin and allergen are identified as storage proteins and play an important role in promoting female reproduction in the American *** expression of their encoding genes is induced by JH *** data reveal a novel mechanism by which hexamerin and allergen are necessary for JH-stimulated female reproduction.

A two-grid finite element method with L1 scheme is presented for solving two-dimen-sional time-fractional nonlinear Schrodinger *** finite element solution in the L-norm are proved bounded without any time-step size conditions(dependent on spatial-step size).The classical L1 scheme is considered in the time direction,and the two-grid finite element method is applied in spatial *** optimal order error estimations of the two-grid solution in the LP-norm is proved without any time-step size *** is shown,both theoretically and numerically,that the coarse space can be extremely coarse,with no loss in the order of accuracy.

Tetrathiafulvalene esters with high redox potentials and improved solubilities for non-aqueous redox flow battery applications

The exploitation of high performance redox-active substances is critically important for the development of non-aqueous redoxﬂow ***,three tetrathiofulvalene(TTF)derivatives with different substitution groups,namely TTF diethyl ester(TTFDE),TTF tetramethyl ester(TTFTM),and TTF tetraethyl ester(TTFTE),are prepared and their energy storage properties are *** has been found that the redox potential and solubility of these TTF derivatives in conventional carbonate electrolytes increases with the number of ester *** battery with a catholyte of 0.2 mol L^(-1) of TTFTE delivers a speciﬁc capacity of more than 10 Ah L^(-1) at the current density of 0.5 C with two discharge voltage platforms locating at as high as 3.85 and 3.60 V ***/Liþ.Its capacity retention can be improved from 2.34 Ah L^(-1) to 3.60 Ah L^(-1) after 100 cycles by the use of an anion exchange membrane to block the crossover of TTF *** excellent cycling stability of the TIF esters is supported by their well-delocalized electrons,as revealed by the density function theory ***,the introduction of more and larger electron-withdrawing groups is a promising strategy to simultaneously increase the redox-potential and solubility of redox-active ma-terials for non-aqueous redoxﬂow batteries.

Mask image projection-based vat photopolymerization(MIP-VPP)offers advantages like low cost,high resolution,and a wide material range,making it popular in industry and ***,MIP-VPP employing liquid crystal displays(LCDs)has gained traction,increasingly replacing digital micromirror devices,particularly among hobbyists and in educational settings,and is now beginning to be used in industrial ***,LCD-based MIP-VPPsuffers from pronounced pixelated aliasing arising from LCD’s discrete image pixels and itsdirect-contact configuration in MIP-VPP machines,leading to rough surfaces on the 3D-printed ***,we propose a vibration-assisted MIP-VPP method that utilizes a microscalevibration to uniformize the light intensity distribution of the LCD-based mask image on VPP’s building *** maintaining the same fabrication speed,our technique generates asmoother,non-pixelated mask image,reducing the roughness on flat surfaces and boundary segments of 3D-printed *** light intensity modeling and simulation,we derived an optimal vibration pattern for LCD mask images,subsequently validated by *** assessed the surface texture,boundary integrity,and dimensional accuracy of componentsproduced using the vibration-assisted *** notably smoother surfaces and improved boundary roughness enhance the printing quality of MIP-VPP,enabling its promisingapplications in sectors like the production of 3D-printed optical devices and others.

Liquid crystals are a vital component of modern photonics,and recent studies have demonstrated the exceptional sensing properties of stimuli-responsive cholesteric liquid ***,existing cholesteric liquid crystal-based sensors often rely on the naked eye perceptibility of structural color or the measurement of wavelength changes by spectrometric tools,which limits their practical ***,developing a platform that produces recognizable sensing signals is *** this study,we present a visual sensing platform based on geometric phase encoding of stimuli-responsive cholesteric liquid crystal polymers that generates real-time visual patterns,rather than frequency *** demonstrate this platform’s effectiveness,we used a humidity-responsive cholesteric liquid crystal polymer film encoded with a q-plate pattern,which revealed that humidity causes a shape change in the vortex beam reflected from the encoded cholesteric liquid crystal ***,we developed a prototype platform towards remote humidity monitoring benefiting from the high directionality and long-range transmission properties of laser beams carrying orbital angular *** approach provides a novel sensing platform for cholesteric liquid crystals-based sensors that offers promising practical *** ability to generate recognizable sensing signals through visual patterns offers a new level of practicality in the sensing field with stimuli-responsive cholesteric liquid *** platform might have significant implications for a broad readership and will be of interest to researchers working in the field of photonics and sensing technology.

Microlensing bias on the detection of strong lensing gravitational wave

Identifying strong lensing gravitational wave(SLGW)events is of utmost importance in astrophysics as we approach the historic first detection of SLGW amidst the growing number of gravitational wave(GW)***,one crucial method for identifying SLGW signals involves assessing the overlap of parameters between two ***,the distribution of discrete matter,such as stars and sub-halos,within the strong lensing galaxy can imprint a wave optical(WO)effect on the SLGW *** frequency dependent imprints introduce biases in parameter estimation and impact SLGW *** this study,we assess the influence of the stellar microlensing field embedded in a strong lensing *** findings demonstrate that the WO effect reduces the detection efficiency of SLGW by 5%-50%for various false alarm probabilities per pair(FAPper pair).Specifically,at an FAPper pairof 10^(-5),the detection efficiency decreases from~10%to~5%.Consequently,the presence of the microlensing field can result in missing half of the strong lensing ***,the microlensing WO effect introduces a noticeable bias in intrinsic parameters,particularly for chirp mass and mass ***,it has tiny influence on extrinsic *** all parameters,~30%of events exhibit a 1σparameter bias,~12%exhibit a 2σparameter bias,and~5%exhibit a 3σparameter bias.

Reconfigurable mechanism-based metamaterials for ternary-coded elastic wave polarizers and programmable refraction control

Elastic metamaterials with unusual elastic properties offer unprecedented ways to modulate the polarization and propagation of elastic waves. However, most of them rely on the resonant structural components, and thus are frequency-dependent and unchangeable. Here, we present a reconfigurable 2D mechanism-based metamaterial which possesses transformable and frequency-independent elastic properties. Based on the proposed mechanism-based metamaterial, interesting functionalities, such as ternarycoded elastic wave polarizer and programmable refraction, are demonstrated. Particularly, unique ternary-coded polarizers, with 1-trit polarization filtering and 2-trit polarization separating of longitudinal and transverse waves, are first achieved. Then, the strong anisotropy of the proposed metamaterial is harnessed to realize positive-negative bi-refraction, only-positive refraction, and only-negative refraction. Finally, the wave functions with detailed microstructures are numerically verified.
