Superinfection is frequently detected among individuals infected by human immunodeficiency virus type I （HIV-1）. Superinfection occurs at similar frequencies at acute and chronic infection stages but less frequently than primary infection. This observation indicates that the immune responses elicited by natural HIV-1 infection may play a role in curb of superinfection; however, these responses are not sufficiently strong to completely prevent superinfection. Thus, a successful HIV-1 vaccine likely needs to induce more potent and broader immune responses than those elicited by primary infection. On the other hand, potent and broad neutralization responses are more often detected after superinfection than during monoinfection. This suggests that broadly neutralizing antibodies are more likely induced by sequential immunization of multiple different immunogens than with only one form of envelope glycoprotein immunogens. Understanding why the protection from superinfection by immunity induced by primary infection is insufficient and if superinfection can lead to cross-reactive immune responses will be highly informative for HIV-1 vaccine design.

China is a mountainous country,and Southwest mountain areas cover the most mountain areas in China and have the most serious *** Zhaotong city as the study area,based on 902 rural household questionnaires of 11 villages in 2 counties and Tobit model,this paper analyzes the geographical differences and influencing factors of energy consumption for non-production purposes of rural households living in different terrain *** research finds that:(1) Coal takes up the main part of energy consumption in valley areas and coal consumption is mainly affected by per capita cultivated land area,household income,proportion of rural household energy expenditure in total expenditure,coal price,and family population *** takes up the main part of energy consumption in high mountain areas and firewood consumption is mainly affected by per capita firewood forest area,distance to purchase coal,household income,electricity price,and coal price.(2) Only when the distance is greater than 20 kilometers,that is the average distance of rural households living in middle mountain areas(1,600m^1,800m) to purchase coal,the transportation condition has a significant impact on coal consumption.(3) In high mountain areas,prices of coal and electricity are the main factors influencing energy consumption choice of rural *** high prices of coal and electricity would to some extent lead rural households to choose firewood as the main energy consumption *** to coal,rural households prefer to choose electricity.

Precise identification of HIV transmission among populations is a key step in public health ***,the HIV transmission network is usually difficult to *** molecular networks can be determined by phylogenetic approach,genetic distance-based approach,and a combination of both *** approaches are increasingly used to identify transmission networks among populations,reconstruct the history of HIV spread,monitor the dynamics of HIV transmission,guide targeted intervention on key subpopulations,and assess the effects of *** and retrospective studies have demonstrated that these molecular network-based interventions are more cost-effective than random or traditional ***,we still need to address several challenges to improve the practice of molecular network-guided targeting interventions to finally end the HIV *** data remain limited or difficult to obtain,and more automatic real-time tools are *** addition,molecular and social networks must be combined,and technical parameters and ethnic issues warrant further studies.

Myocardial infarction(MI)exhibits a complicated and ever-accelerated pathological change involving excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS)and the up-regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the initial stage,and a permanently inadequate blood ***,an injectable hydrogel fabricated by nanoparticles(NPs)knotted thiolated hyaluronic acid(HA-SH)was reported to reverse the hostile microenvironment and rebuild the heart functions after *** by the composite shell-core structure of Ferrero chocolate sphere,a mimetic nanocarrier was designed to consist of the hydrophobic dimethyloxalylglycine(DMOG)NPs core and a thick polydopamine(PDA)shell formed by the self-polymerization of dopamine embedded with watersoluble drug epigallocatechin-3-gallate(EGCG)throughπ-π*** resulted"Ferrero-like"NPs exhibited a"three-inone"capacity,namely loading two distinct drugs,elimination of ROS,and serving a crosslinker to knot HA-SH."Ferrero-like"NPs and HA-SH could rapidly form a hydrogel that exhibited a stable mechanical property,high capability to capture ROS,and programmed release of EGCG and *** weeks after deploying the"Ferrero-like"NPs knotted hydrogels into rat infarcted hearts,the ejection fraction(EF)increased by 23.7%,and the infarct size decreased by 21.1%,and the fibrotic area reduced by 24.4%.The outcomes of immunofluorescence staining and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RTPCR)demonstrated a down-regulation of inflammatory factors(tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),interferon-γ(IFN-γ)),up-regulation of vascular related growth factors(hypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α),vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGFA),von Willebrand factor(vWF),angiopoietin-1(Ang-1))and cardiac-related m RNAs(gap junction protein(Cx43),Cadherin 2).All in all,in this report,a very simple approach to intertemporally address the intricate and ongoing pathological changes after MI by injecting"Ferrero-like"NPs knotted hydrogels is develo

Amomi Fructus(Sharen,AF)is a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)from three source species(or varieties),including Wurfbainia villosa ***(WVV),*** ***(WVX),or ***(WL).Among them,WVV has been transplanted from its top-geoherb region,Guangdong,to its current main production area,Yunnan,for>50 years in ***,the genetic and transcriptomic differentiation among multiple AF source species(or varieties)and between the origin and transplanted populations of WVV is *** our study,the observed overall higher expression of terpenoid biosynthesis genes in WVV than in WVX provided possible evidence for the better pharmacological effect of *** also screened six candidate borneol dehydrogenases(BDHs)that potentially catalyzed borneol into camphor in WVV and functionally verified *** expressed genes at the P2 stage of WVV,Wv05G1424 and Wv05G1438,were capable of catalyzing the formation of camphor from(+)-borneol,(-)-borneol and ***,the BDH genes may experience independent evolution after acquiring the ancestral copies,and the following tandem duplications might account for the abundant camphor content in ***,four populations of WVV,WVX,and WL are genetically differentiated,and the gene flow from WVX to WVV in Yunnan contributed to the greater genetic diversity in the introduced population(WVV-JH)than in its top-geoherb region(WVV-YC),which showed the lowest genetic diversity and might undergo genetic *** addition,terpene synthesis(TPS)and BDH genes were selected among populations of multiple AF source species(or varieties)and between the top-and non-top-geoherb regions,which might explain the difference in metabolites between these *** findings provide important guidance for the conservation,genetic improvement,and industrial development of the three source species(or varieties)and for identifying top-geoherbalism with molecular markers,and proper clinical application

Dear Editor,In China,HIV-1 CRF01_AE has always been one of the most prevalent subtypes,especially among sexually active population,since it was initially reported in Yunnan and Guangxi Provinces during the early 1990s(Cheng et al.1994;Yu et al.1998;Chen et al.1999).Multiple independent introductions of CRF01_AE have led to the establishment of at least eight epidemic lineages in China,which have been circulating among different high-risk populations and have variable prevalence and geographic distribution(Li et al.2017).
