Numerical simulations of Atlantic meridional overturning circulation(AMOC)from OMIP experiments and its sensitivity to surface forcing

Atlantic meridional overturning circulation(AMOC)plays an important role in transporting heat meridionally in the Earth’s climate system and is also a key metrical tool to verify oceanic general circulation *** OMIP(Ocean Model Intercomparison Project phase 1 and 2)simulations with LICOM3(version 3 of the LASG/IAP Climate System Ocean Model)developed at the State Key Laboratory of Numerical Modeling for Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics(LASG),Institute of Atmospheric Physics(IAP),are compared in this *** simulations well reproduce the fundamental characteristics of the AMOC,but the OMIP1 simulation shows a significantly stronger AMOC than the OMIP2 *** the LICOM3 configurations are identical between these two experiments,any differences between them must be attributed to the surface forcing *** analysis suggests that sea surface salinity(SSS)differences should be mainly responsible for the enhanced AMOC in the OMIP1 simulation,but sea surface temperature(SST)also play an unignorable role in modulating *** the North Atlantic,where deep convection occurs,the SSS in OMIP1 is more saline than that in *** find that in the major region of deep convection,the change of SSS has more significant effect on density than the change of *** a result,the SSS was more saline than that in OMIP2,leading to stronger deep convection and subsequently intensify the *** conduct a series of numerical experiments with LICOM3,and the results confirmed that the changes in SSS have more significant effect on the strength of AMOC than the changes in SST.

Effect of Vacancy Defects on the Properties of CoS_(2) and FeS_(2)

In order to explore the effect of vacancy defects on the structural,electronic,magnetic and optical properties of CoS_(2) and FeS_(2),first-principles calculation method was used to investigate the *** calculated results of materials without vacancy are consistent with those reported in the literatures,while the results of materials with vacancy defect were different from those of literatures due to the difference vacancy *** Co vacancy defect hardly changes the half-metallic characteristic of CoS_(2).The Fe vacancy defect changes FeS_(2) from semiconductor to half-metal,and the bottom of the spin-down conduction band changes from the p orbital state of S to the d(t_(2g))orbital state of Fe,while the top of the valence band remains the d orbital d(eg)state of *** half-metallic Co vacancy defects of CoS_(2) and Fe vacancy defects of FeS_(2) are expected to be used in spintronic devices.S vacancy defects make both CoS_(2) and FeS_(2) *** the Co and S vacancy defects lead to the decrease of the magnetic moment of CoS_(2),while both the Fe and S vacancy defects lead to the obvious magnetic property of FeS_(2).Vacancy defects enhance the absorption coefficient of infrared band and long band of visible light obviously,and produce obvious red shift phenomenon,which is expected to be used in photoelectric devices.

Advancing high-voltage stability of layered sodium-ion oxides represents a pivotal avenue for their progress in energy storage *** this,a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms underpinning their structural deterioration at elevated voltages remains insufficiently *** this study,we unveil a layer delamination phenomenon of Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.3)Mn_(0.7)O_(2)(NNM)within the 2.0-4.3 V voltage,attributed to considerable volumetric fluctuations along the c-axis and lattice oxygen reactions induced by the simultaneous Ni^(3+)/Ni^(4+)and anion redox *** introducing Mg doping to diminished Ni-O antibonding,the anion oxidation-reduction reactions are effectively mitigated,and the structural integrity of the P2 phase remains firmly intact,safeguarding active sites and precluding the formation of novel *** Na_(0.67)Mg_(0.05)Ni_(0.25)Mn_(0.7)O_(2)(NMNM-5)exhibits a specific capacity of100.7 mA h g^(-1),signifying an 83%improvement compared to the NNM material within the voltage of2.0-4.3 *** investigation underscores the intricate interplay between high-voltage stability and structural degradation mechanisms in layered sodium-ion oxides.

Structure and immunomodulatory activity of Lentinus edodes polysaccharides modified by probiotic fermentation

Plant-based fermentations provide an untapped source for novel biotechnological *** this study,a probiotic named Lactobacillus fermentum 21828 was introduced to ferment Lentinus *** were extracted from fermented and non-fermented *** and purified via DEAE-52 and Sephadex *** components designated F-LEP-2a and NF-LEP-2a were analyzed by FT-IR,HPGPC,HPAEC,SEM,GC-MS and *** results revealed that probiotic fermentation increased the molecular weight from 1.16×10^(4) Da to 1.87×10^(4) Da and altered the proportions of glucose,galactose and mannose,in which glucose increased from 45.94%to 48.16%.Methylation analysis and NMR spectra indicated that F-LEP-2a and NF-LEP-2a had similar linkage ***,their immunomodulatory activities were evaluated with immunosuppressive ***-LEP and F-LEP improved immune organ indices,immunoglobulin(Ig G and Ig M)and cytokines concentrations;restored the antioxidation capacity of liver;and maintained the balance of gut microbiota.F-LEP displayed better moderating effects on the spleen index,immunoglobulin,cytokines and the diversity of gut microbiota than NF-LEP(200,400 mg/kg).Our study provides an efficient and environment-friendly way for the structural modification of polysaccharides,which helps to enhance their biological activity and promote their wide application in food,medicine and other fields.

The rapid development of communication services in the power distribution network poses challenges for existing wireless communications,and the deployment of a fiber optic network is costly and *** emerging 5G technology has been piloted in power distribution networks,though the cost-effectiveness of its large-scale deployment remains *** paper proposes an economic evaluation method for 5G planning in power distribution networks,considering the coupling relationship between power distribution and communication networks and the identification of important network ***,the objective function to solve the planned number of 5G base stations is *** is solved using the adaptive particle swarm algorithm and K-means ***,the coupling relationship between the distribution and communication networks is discussed and *** node importance of the coupling network is analyzed to identify the important nodes,and micro base stations or optical fibers are added to improve the reliability of the distribution network at the communication ***,an economic evaluation index of 5G planning of the distribution network is *** paper compares the economic solutions of 5G and 4G communications in city and town scenarios using the IEEE 123-node network as an example,and concludes that the economics of 5G are better than those of 4G.

Model Test Study on Response of Weathered Rock Slope to Rainfall Infiltration under Different Conditions

Weathered rock(especially granite)slopes are prone to failure under the action of rainfall,making it necessary to study the response of weathered rock slope to rainfall infiltration for landslide *** this study,a series of model tests of weathered rock slope under different conditions were *** matric suction,volumetric water content,earth pressure and deformation of slope were monitored in real time during *** response of the slope to rainfall infiltration,failure process and failure mode of slope under different conditions were analyzed,and the early warning criterion for the failure of weathered rock slope caused by rainfall was *** results show that the slope deformation evolution process under rainfall condition was closely related to the dissipation of matric *** the distribution of the matrix suction(or water content)of slope met the condition that the resistance to sliding of the slip-mass was overcome,the displacement increased sharply and landslide *** factors including rainfall process,lithologic condition and excavation condition significantly affect the response of weathered rock slope to *** can be found from the test results under different conditions that compared with intermittent rainfall condition,the rainfall intensity and infiltration depth were smaller when the slope entering accelerated deformation stage under the condition of incremental *** accumulated rainfall when weathered clastic landslide occurring was greater than that of weathered granite,which results in greater disaster *** excavation angle and moisture distribution of a slope were the main factors affecting the stability of a *** addition,the evolution processes and critical displacement velocities of slopes were studied by combining the deformation curves and matrix suction curves,which can be used as reference for early warning of rainfall-induced weathered rock landslide.

Twin-Capture Rydberg State Excitation Enhanced with Few-Cycle Laser Pulses

Quantum excitation is usually regarded as a transient process occurring instantaneously,leaving the underlying physics shrouded in *** research shows that Rydberg-state excitation with ultrashort laser pulses can be investigated and manipulated with state-of-the-art few-cycle *** theoretically find that the efficiency of Rydberg state excitation can be enhanced with a short laser pulse and modulated by varying the laser *** also uncover new facets of the excitation dynamics,including the launching of an electron wave packet through strong-field ionization,the re-entry of the electron into the atomic potential and the crucial step where the electron makes a U-turn,resulting in twin captures into Rydberg *** tuning the laser intensity,we show that the excitation of the Rydberg state can be coherently controlled on a sub-optical-cycle *** work paves the way toward ultrafast control and coherent manipulation of Rydberg states,thus benefiting Rydberg-state-based quantum technology.

采用严格的增量动力分析(IDA)方法对砂土场地桥梁群桩基础的延性性能开展了系统研究。基于砂土中单墩-群桩基础体系振动台试验验证了数值模拟方法;以实际工程为背景,考虑与结构、土体相关的9个参数,建立了一系列分析模型;将7条实际地震记录作为输入,进行了系统的增量动力分析。基于计算结果,对地震下桥梁群桩基础的损伤破坏过程进行了验证,提出了表征群桩基础延性性能的位移、转角、强度3个指标,并揭示了各性能指标随结构、土体参数的变化规律。结果表明,群桩基础在易修复状态下的平均位移延性系数为2.52,平均水平承载力为首次屈服状态的1.41倍;极限状态下平均位移延性系数为3.62,平均水平承载力为首次屈服状态的1.47倍,延性性能可观且稳定;承台转动引起的桥墩漂移率最大不超过0.7%,不控制抗震设计。

Autogenous bone grafts have long been considered the“gold standard”and most effective material in bone regeneration procedures.[1]Autogenous bone grafts are used to repair bone defects caused by nonunion,infection,tumor resection,and spinal and joint fusion.[2]It has been reported that more than 200,000 autologous bone grafts are performed in the United States each year.[3]Although there are no specific statistics on the annual number of bone grafts performed in China,autologous bone grafting is the most common surgical technique in *** iliac crest remains the most common donor site,along with the fibula,ribs,tibial metaphysis,proximal humerus,distal radius,and greater trochanter.[4,5]Various bone-graft options provide different amounts and qualities of cortical,cancellous,and corticocancellous bone.[6,7]Autogenous bone graft is osteogenic,histocompatible,provides structural support.
