Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that inflicts irreversible damage on *** experimental data regarding Parkinson’s patients are redundant and irrelevant,posing significant challenges for disease ***,there is a need to devise an effective method for the selective extraction of disease-specific information,ensuring both accuracy and the utilization of fewer *** this paper,a Binary Hybrid Artificial Hummingbird and Flower Pollination Algorithm(FPA),called BFAHA,is proposed to solve the problem of Parkinson’s disease diagnosis based on speech ***,combining FPA with Artificial Hummingbird Algorithm(AHA)can take advantage of the strong global exploration ability possessed by FPA to improve the disadvantages of AHA,such as premature convergence and easy falling into local ***,the Hemming distance is used to determine the difference between the other individuals in the population and the optimal individual after each iteration,if the difference is too significant,the cross-mutation strategy in the genetic algorithm(GA)is used to induce the population individuals to keep approaching the optimal individual in the random search process to speed up finding the optimal ***,an S-shaped function converts the improved algorithm into a binary version to suit the characteristics of the feature selection(FS)*** this paper,10 high-dimensional datasets from uCI and the ASu are used to test the performance of BFAHA and apply it to Parkinson’s disease *** with other state-of-the-art algorithms,BFAHA shows excellent competitiveness in both the test datasets and the classification problem,indicating that the algorithm proposed in this study has apparent advantages in the field of feature selection.

Rainwater runoff that does not infiltrate the soil during heavy rainfall may increase slope instability. The effect of runoff is usually neglected in conventional rainfall-induced slope failure analysis to simplify the model. To analyze the effect of runoff on slope stability, this study simultaneously simulated the effects of surface runoff and rainfall infiltration on bank slopes in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area. A shallow slope failure method that can be used to analyze runoff was proposed based on the modified Green-Ampt model, the simplified Saint-Venant model, and the infinite slope model. In this model, the modified Green–Ampt model was used to estimate the rainfall infiltration capacity and the wetting front depth. The eight-flow(D8) method and the simplified Saint-Venant model were selected to estimate the distribution of runoff. By considering the wetting front depth as the slip surface depth, the factor of safety of the slope could be determined using the infinite slope stability model. A comparison of the different models reveals that runoff can escalate the instability of certain slopes, causing stable slopes to become unstable. Comparison of the unstable areas obtained from the simulation with the actual landslide sites shows that the model proposed in this study can successfully predict landslides at these sites. The slope instability assessment model proposed in this study offers an alternative approach for estimating high-risk areas in large mountainous regions.

After a century of standstill,bacteria-based tumor therapy has resurged recently benefiting from the revolution of tumor immunotherapy,which provides unique solutions to tackle the obstacles of traditional tumor *** and facultative anaerobes with active tropism can selectively colonize at tumor sites and suppress tumor growth via different mechanisms,serving as attractive tools for tumor treatment either as a monotherapy or combining with other therapies for synergistic anti-tumor *** this critical review,we introduce the recent advances of bacteria-based tumor therapy from the following ***,the general properties of bacteria are reviewed emphasizing on their structural components related to tumor immunotherapy,and the main bacteria that have been used in tumor therapy are ***,the benefits of bacteria for tumor therapy are illustrated,such as tumor targetability,deep penetration,and facile genetic engineering for attenuation,enhanced efficacy,as well as ***,anti-tumor mechanisms of bacteria are summarized,which refer to intrinsic tumoricidal activities,immune activation,bacteria metabolism,and their capability to regulate gut microbiota ***,bacteria could act as carriers to deliver various types of therapeutics to achieve combination therapy with improved *** addition,several challenges for anti-tumor applications of bacteria are discussed regarding the delivery,efficacy and safety issues,and potential solutions are also ***,the possible improvements and perspectives are discussed in the end,which provide a guideline for the design of advanced bacteria-based tumor therapeutics in the future.

Macrocyclic materials have attracted much attention due to their particular chemical and physical *** we report the precise synthesis and characterization of a new bismacrocycle structure base on cycloparaphenylene(CPP)and pillar[5]arene,named cycloparaphenylene-pillar[5]arenes(CPPn[5]).The bismacrocycle was fully characterized by NMR and *** photophysical properties of CPPn[5]were investigated by uV–vis,and the maximum absorption peak was located at 331 nm,which was consistent with density functional theory(DFT)*** fluorescence spectrum was further studied and the emission peak was maximized at 458 *** computational results indicate the strain energy of CPPn[5]is 27.80 kcal/mol and the HOMO-LuMO gap is 3.39 eV Notably,CPPn[5]showed interesting supramolecular properties.

Tungsten disulfide(WS_(2))has been reported to show negligible stacking dependence under ambient conditions,impeding its further explorations on physical properties and potential ***,we realize efficient modulation of interlayer coupling in bilayer WS_(2)with 3R and 2H stackings by high pressure,and find that the pressure-triggered interlayer coupling and pressure-induced resonant-to-nonresonant transition exhibit prominent stacking dependence,which are experimentally observed for the first time in *** work may unleash the stacking degree of freedom in designing WS_(2)devices with tailored properties correlated to interlayer coupling.

Elastic metamaterials with unusual elastic properties offer unprecedented ways to modulate the polarization and propagation of elastic waves. However, most of them rely on the resonant structural components, and thus are frequency-dependent and unchangeable. Here, we present a reconfigurable 2D mechanism-based metamaterial which possesses transformable and frequency-independent elastic properties. Based on the proposed mechanism-based metamaterial, interesting functionalities, such as ternarycoded elastic wave polarizer and programmable refraction, are demonstrated. Particularly, unique ternary-coded polarizers, with 1-trit polarization filtering and 2-trit polarization separating of longitudinal and transverse waves, are first achieved. Then, the strong anisotropy of the proposed metamaterial is harnessed to realize positive-negative bi-refraction, only-positive refraction, and only-negative refraction. Finally, the wave functions with detailed microstructures are numerically verified.
