Rotation Angle Control Strategy for Telescopic Flexible Manipulator Based on a Combination of Fuzzy Adjustment and RBF Neural Network

The length of fexible manipulators with a telescopic arm alters during movement.The dynamic parameters of telescopic fexible manipulators exhibit signifcant time-varying characteristics owing to variations in length.With an increase in the manipulators’length,the nonlinear terms caused by fexibility in the manipulators’dynamic equations cannot be ignored.The time-varying characteristics and nonlinear terms of telescopic fexible manipulators cause fuctuations in rotation angles,which afect the operation accuracy of end-efectors.In this study,a control strategy based on a combination of fuzzy adjustment and an RBF neural network is utilized to improve the control accuracy of fexible telescopic manipulators.First,the dynamic equation of the manipulators is established using the assumed mode method and Lagrange’s principle,and the infuence of nonlinear terms is analyzed.Subsequently,a combined control strategy is proposed to suppress the fuctuation of the rotation angle in telescopic fexible manipulators.The variation ranges of the feedforward PD controller parameters are determined by the pole placement strategy and length of the manipulators.Fuzzy rules are utilized to adjust the controller parameters in real-time.The RBF neural network is utilized to identify and compensate the uncertain part of the dynamic model of the fexible manipulators.The uncertain part comprises time-varying parameters and nonlinear terms.Finally,numerical simulations and prototype experiments prove the efectiveness of the combined control strategy.The results prove that the proposed control strategy has a smaller standard deviation of errors.Therefore,the combined control strategy is more suitable for telescopic fexible manipulators,which can efectively improve the control accuracy of rotation angles.

As the search for effective treatments for COVID-19 continues,the high mortality rate among critically ill patients in Intensive Care Units(ICU)presents a profound challenge.This study explores the potential benefits of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)as a supplementary treatment for severe COVID-19.A total of 110 critically ill COVID-19 patients at the Intensive Care Unit(ICU)of Vulcan Hill Hospital between Feb.,2020,and April,2020(Wuhan,China)participated in this observational study.All patients received standard supportive care protocols,with a subset of 81 also receiving TCM as an adjunct treatment.Clinical characteristics during the treatment period and the clinical outcome of each patient were closely monitored and analysed.Our findings indicated that the TCM group exhibited a significantly lower mortality rate compared with the non-TCM group(16 of 81 vs 24 of 29;0.3 vs 2.3 person/month).In the adjusted Cox proportional hazards models,TCM treatment was associated with improved survival odds(P<0.001).Furthermore,the analysis also revealed that TCM treatment could partially mitigate inflammatory responses,as evidenced by the reduced levels of proinflammatory cytokines,and contribute to the recovery of multiple organic functions,thereby potentially increasing the survival rate of critically ill COVID-19 patients.

Effects of Metal Cations and Counter Anions on the Structural Stability of Isoquinoline-Based Metallo-Supramolecular Cages

Metallo-supramolecular architectures that are constructed by coordination-driven self-assembly have received tremendous attention on account of their diverse yet molecular-level precise structures and broad applications.Of particular,metal cations and counter anions are fundamentally important in terms of self-assembly,characterization and property;however,their effects on the structural stabilities of metallo-supramolecular architectures have seldom been investigated.To address this issue,herein,a series of octahedral metallo-cages that are capable of tolerating with five metal cations(Pd^(2+),Cu^(2+),Ni^(2+),Co^(2+)and Zn^(2+)),and five counter anions(ClO_(4)^(–),OTf^(–),BF_(4)^(–),NTf_(2)^(–)and NO_(3)^(–))are constructed by the coordination-driven self-assembly of a well-designed tritopic isoquinoline-based ligand with corresponding metal salts.Structural stability studies show that metal cations and counter anions play a critical role in the stability of the resulting cages depending on their coordination abilities and stacking manners.This work provides deep insights in the ever-diversifying field of metallo-supramolecular chemistry,and will enable us to design more sophisticated assembled structure with desired function.

Luminescent metallo-supramolecules have received tremendous attention in recent years owing to their diverse yet well-defined structures,tunable luminescent properties,and broad applications.In this context,the development of terpyridine(tpy)-based luminescent metallo-supramolecular systems has seen rapid growth.This review aims to summarize the recent progress of luminescent metallo-supramolecular assemblies from tpy ligands with metal ions,with a focus on discrete metallo-supramolecular architectures and metallo-supramolecular polymers.The design strategies and common approaches for tuning the luminescence properties are detailed along with representative applications.Finally,the pitfalls and unmet challenges regarding the structural characterization and practical applications of tpy-based metallo-supramolecules are discussed followed by our perspectives on the future directions of this field.

The reservoir learning power across quantum many-body localization transition

Harnessing the quantum computation power of the present noisy-intermediate-size-quantum devices has received tremendous interest in the last few years. Here we study the learning power of a one-dimensional long-range randomly-coupled quantum spin chain, within the framework of reservoir computing. In time sequence learning tasks, we find the system in the quantum many-body localized (MBL) phase holds long-term memory, which can be attributed to the emergent local integrals of motion. On the other hand, MBL phase does not provide sufficient nonlinearity in learning highly-nonlinear time sequences, which we show in a parity check task. This is reversed in the quantum ergodic phase, which provides sufficient nonlinearity but compromises memory capacity. In a complex learning task of Mackey–Glass prediction that requires both sufficient memory capacity and nonlinearity, we find optimal learning performance near the MBL-to-ergodic transition. This leads to a guiding principle of quantum reservoir engineering at the edge of quantum ergodicity reaching optimal learning power for generic complex reservoir learning tasks. Our theoretical finding can be tested with near-term NISQ quantum devices.

Acoustic Velocity-Independent 2-D DOA Estimation for Underwater Application

In this paper,an acoustic velocityindependent two-dimensional direction of arrival(2-D DOA)estimation for underwater application is presented to eliminate the effect of the inaccurate acoustic velocity estimation.According to the geometric relationship between the linear arrays,the proposed method employs the cross correlation matrix(CCM)of the data received by three crossed linear arrays to remove the acoustic velocity factor.The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method is not susceptible to the acoustic velocity.For a single source,the proposed method outperforms the conventional method in all conditions.For multiple sources,there is a little performance degradation for the proposed method compared with the conventional method.However,the proposed method displays a better performance than the conventional method in situations where the signal to noise ratio(SNR)is extremely low or the acoustic velocity estimation error is non-negligible.Furthermore,the computational complexity of the proposed method is lower than that of the conventional method using the same amount of sensors in total,while the performance is still acceptable.

Geological Structure and Dynamics of the Yinggehai Active Rift Basin,South China Sea

The Yinggehai Basin is a unique NNW-trending petroliferous basin in the northwestern South China Sea.This paper mainly utilized stratigraphic,tectonic and seismic data by characterizing the geological structures and conducting the geo-mechanical analysis to study the formation,evolution and dynamics of the Yinggehai Basin.The study indicates that the Ailaoshan-Truong Son extruded terrane is composed of multiple secondary extruded bodies.The Red River fault zone,located within the Qiangtang-Simao-Yinggehai mantle flow channel and basin zone,experienced transform-type sinistral strike-slip motion before the basin forming stage and formed a NW-trending extruded mantle uplift,which activated the Yinggehai basin.After experiencing the rift depression,fault depression,and fault subsidence,the basin eventually formed large-scale,thick sedimentation features with ideal hydrocarbon-forming conditions at the end of the Miocene.Later,the basin dynamically transformed and entered a period of tectonic superposition,reworking,and thermal subsidence.Superposition of the NNW thrust sinistral strike-slip fault zone on the northern Hanoi sub-basin complicated the basin structure.Since the Pliocene,the southern Yinggehai main basin has been transformed into an extensional dextral strike-slip environment that hosted numerous mud diapirs.The thin crust and high geothermal gradient provide favorable conditions for the large-scale accumulation of natural gas.

Carbon nanotubes decorated FeNi/nitrogen-doped carbon composites for lightweight and broadband electromagnetic wave absorption

Magnetic-dielectric component modulation and heterogeneous interface engineering were considered as an effective strategy for designing lightweight and broadband electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorbors.Herein,a series of carbon nanotubes(CNTs)decorated core-shell nitrogen-doped carbon(CNTs/FeNi/NC)composites were successfully fabricated via the carbonization of CNTs/NiFe_(2)O_(4)/PDA precursors obtained by hydrothermal and polymerization method.The EMW absorption(EMWA)properties of CNTs/FeNi/NC composites were explored by varying the CNTs content.When the CNTs content was 15%,the minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))value was-51.13 dB at 9.52 GHz and the corresponding effective absorption band-width(EAB)value was 2.96 GHz(8.96-11.12 GHz)at 2.5 mm.Particularly,the maximum EAB value can reach up to 4.64 GHz(12.80-17.44 GHz)at 1.7 mm.The excellent EMW attenuation capability resulted from the enhanced conductive loss,polarization loss,magnetic loss,and improved impedance matching.This work offers a novel reference for designing lightweight and broadband EMWA materials.

1D/2D CoTe_(2)@MoS_(2)composites constructed by CoTe_(2)nanorods and MoS_(2)nanosheets for efficient electromagnetic wave absorption

Rational design of the components and microstructure is regarded as an efficacious strategy for the high-performance electromagnetic wave absorbing(EMWA)materials.Herein,the CoTe_(2)@MoS_(2)nanocomposites with CoTe_(2)nanorods and MoS_(2)nanosheets were synthesized via a hydrothermal method.The microstructure and composition of the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The CoTe_(2)@MoS_(2)composite was composed of stacked CoTe_(2)as the core and intertwined MoS_(2)nanosheets as the shell.The electromagnetic parameters of the CoTe_(2)@MoS_(2)composites were investigated by vector network analyzer(VNA).The EMWA property of the composite showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing with the increasing content of MoS_(2).When the mass ratio of MoS_(2)and CoTe_(2)was 1:1,the CoTe_(2)@MoS_(2)composite exhibited the minimum reflection loss value of-68.10 dB at 4.71 GHz,and the effective absorption bandwidth value might reach 4.64 GHz(13.08-17.72 GHz)at a matching thickness of 1.60 mm with filler loading of 50 wt.%.The extraordinary EMWA property was attributed to the optimized impedance matching,multiple scattering and reflections,dipole polarization,conductive loss,and interfacial polarization.Therefore,the present approach to the design of microstructure and interface engineering offers a crucial way to construct high-performance EMW absorbers.

Metallo-supramolecular chemistry based on the reversible,directional,and predictable noncovalent interaction of metal–ligand coordination has been widely applied in constructing a myriad of two-and threedimensional supramolecules with sophisticated structures.The development of metallo-supramolecular chemistry highly relies on facile characterization methods.For advancement of structural complexity with desired functions,however,conventional crystallographicandspectroscopiccharacterizationsarelimited by crystal growth,sample purity,and severe signal overlaps.With high sensitivity and low requirement for purity,multidimensional mass spectrometry(MS),including electrospray ionization-MS(ESI-MS),tandem MS(MS2),and ion mobility-MS(IM-MS),is emerging as an essential analytical tool for characterization of the chemical compositions,connectivity,stability,shape,and size of metallo-supramolecules,as well as kinetic and thermodynamic features of self-assembly processes.Thus,this review mainly focuses on the recentdevelopment ofmultidimensionalMSinmetallosupramolecular characterization and discusses how ESI-MS,MS2,and IM-MS assist the development of metallo-supramolecular chemistry.
