Objective:To systematically evaluate the safety and efficacy of Mongolian medical warm acupuncture in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods:CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,Pubmed,Embase,Cochrane Library,and other databases were searched.The randomized controlled trials(RCTs)on the treatment of LDH with Mongolian medical warm acupuncture were manually searched in the Chinese Journal of Ethnic Medicine,Chinese Journal of Mongolian Medicine,Journal of Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities,and Journal of Inner Mongolia Medical University.The search time limit was from January 2000 to October 2023.RevMan5.4 software was used to analyze the included and excluded literature.Results:A total of 8 RCTs involving 1,042 patients with LDH were included,with 551 patients in the observation group and 491 patients in the control group.The results of the meta-analysis showed that a total of 8 randomized controlled trials were included in the treatment of LDH with Mongolian medical warm acupuncture compared with simple acupuncture(RR=1.18,95%CI=[1.12,1.23],P<0.00001).Conclusion:The total effective rate of Mongolian medical warm acupuncture for LDH is higher than that of simple acupuncture.However,due to the low quality of the literature included in this study,multi-dimensional,large sample size,and more rigorous clinical randomized trials are needed for further verification in the future.

Intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)is a newly emerged and promising paradigm to substantially improve the performance of wireless communications by constructing favorable communication channels via properly tuning massive reflecting elements.This paper considers a distributed IRS aided decode-and-forward(DF)relaying system over Nakagami-m fading channels.Based on a tight approximation for the distribution of the received signalto-noise ratio(SNR),we first derive exact closed-form expressions of the outage probability,ergodic capacity,and energy efficiency for the considered system.Moreover,we propose the optimal IRS configuration considering the energy efficiency and pilot overhead.Finally,we compare the performance between the distributed IRS-aided DF relaying and multi-IRS-only systems,and verify the analytical results by using monte carlo simulations.

The maritime communication network(MCN)plays an important role in the 6th generation(6G)system development.In MCNs,packet transport over long-distance lossy links will be ubiquitous.Transmission control protocol(TCP),the dominant transport protocol in the past decades,have had performance issues in such links.In this paper,we propose a novel transport approach which uses user datagram protocol(UDP)along with a simple yet effective bandwidth estimator for congestion control,and with a proactive packet-level forward erasure correction(FEC)code called streaming code to provide low-delay loss recovery without data retransmissions at all.We show that the approach can effectively address two issues of the state-of-the-art TCP variants in the long-distance lossy links,namely 1)the low bandwidth utilization caused by the slow increase of the congestion window(CWND)due to long roundtrip time(RTT)and the frequent CWND drop due to random and congestion losses,and 2)the high endto-end in-order delivery delay when re-transmissions are incurred to recover lost packets.In addition,we show that the scheme’s goodput has good smoothness and short-term intra-protocol fairness properties,which are beneficial for multimedia streaming and interactive applications that are prominent parts of today’s wireless traffic.

Line-of-sight(LoS)probability prediction is critical to the performance optimization of wireless communication systems.However,it is challenging to predict the LoS probability of air-to-ground(A2G)communication scenarios,because the altitude of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)or other aircraft varies from dozens of meters to several kilometers.This paper presents an altitude-dependent empirical LoS probability model for A2G scenarios.Before estimating the model parameters,we design a K-nearest neighbor(KNN)based strategy to classify LoS and non-LoS(NLoS)paths.Then,a two-layer back propagation neural network(BPNN)based parameter estimation method is developed to build the relationship between every model parameter and the UAV altitude.Simulation results show that the results obtained using our proposed model has good consistency with the ray tracing(RT)data,the measurement data,and the results obtained using the standard models.Our model can also provide wider applicable altitudes than other LoS probability models,and thus can be applied to different altitudes under various A2G scenarios.

A real-time ray-based hardware emulator for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) communication channels which suits for the Three-Dimensional(3D) dynamic scenarios and considers the movements of both terminals is developed in this paper. The time-variant channel parameters, i.e.,ray delay, ray gain, and ray Doppler frequency are precalculated in the host by using the Ray Tracing(RT) method. Meanwhile, RT simulation dramatically increases the number of valid rays. To address the problem of resource limitation and huge computational burden in the implementation,an efficient ray coefficients generation method based on iteration is proposed and implemented.With the advantages of low cost and high flexibility, a Software Defined Radio(SDR) hardware platform is used to emulate the ray-based UAV channels by utilizing the compact architecture including the Time-Division(TD) scheme and Tapped-Delay Line(TDL) for channel convolution.Finally, hardware measurement results demonstrate that the properties of emulated channel, i.e.,Power Delay Profile(PDP) and Doppler Power Spectrum Density(DPSD) consist with the simulated ones, which verifies the correctness of hardware implementation. The proposed channel emulator provides an efficient way for optimization, verification, and evaluation of UAV communication systems.

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease that is characterized by progressive destruction of the periodontium and causes tooth loss in adults.Periodontitis is known to be associated with dysbiosis of the oral microflora,which is often linked to various diseases.However,the complexity of plaque microbial communities of periodontitis,antibiotic resistance,and enhanced virulence make this disease difficult to treat.In this study,using metagenomic shotgun sequencing,we investigated the etiology,antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs),and virulence genes(VirGs)of periodontitis.We revealed a significant shift in the composition of oral microbiota as well as several functional pathways that were represented significantly more abundantly in periodontitis patients than in controls.In addition,we observed several positively selected ARGs and VirGs with the Ka/Ks ratio>1 by analyzing our data and a previous periodontitis dataset,indicating that ARGs and VirGs in oral microbiota may be subjected to positive selection.Moreover,5 of 12 positively selected ARGs and VirGs in periodontitis patients were found in the genomes of respiratory tract pathogens.Of note,91.8%of the background VirGs with at least one non-synonymous single-nucleotide polymorphism for natural selection were also from respiratory tract pathogens.These observations suggest a potential association between periodontitis and respiratory infection at the gene level.Our study enriches the knowledge of pathogens and functional pathways as well as the positive selection of antibiotic resistance and pathogen virulence in periodontitis patients,and provides evidence at the gene level for an association between periodontitis and respiratory infection.

A comprehensive 2D computational fluid dynamics （CFD） model was developed to simulate the flow behavior and catalytic dehydrogenation reaction of syngas in a heterogenous fixed-bed reactor （FBR）. The model combined the porous medium CFD model with a reaction kinetics model. To acquire an accu- rate reaction kinetics model, a comprehensive reaction mechanism was studied for the heterogeneous catalytic dehydrogenation reaction ofsyngas over a supported metal catalyst. Based on the reaction mech- anism and a statistical test, a reliable kinetics model was proposed. The CFD model combined with the above kinetics model was validated with one set of experimental data. The CFD model was also used to predict key reaction variable distributions such as the temperature and the component concentrations in the reactor.

1 Introduction The fifth-generation(5G)era has already arrived and many applications are prospering.The multi‐ple input multiple output(MIMO)system is the key to enhancing channel capacity for both the fourthgeneration(4G)wireless communication and 5G sys‐tems.For a smartphone,the most challenging task for antenna engineers is to accommodate the numerous 4G and 5G multi-port antennas while avoiding mutual coupling problems(Li Y et al.,2009,2012;Hong,2017;Sharawi et al.,2017).Therefore,implementing multiple antennas within a small space is a worth‐while topic to study,especially for antennas operat‐ing at the same frequency。

In recent years, large numbers of non-coding RNAs （ncR- NAs） have been identified in C. elegans but their functions are still not well studied. In C. elegans, CEP-1 is the sole homolog of the p53 family of genes. In order to obtain transcription profiles of ncRNAs regulated by CEP-1 under normal and UV stressed conditions, we applied the ＇not-so- random＇ hexamers priming strategy to RNA sequencing in C. elegans, This NSR-seq strategy efficiently depleted rRNA transcripts from the samples and showed high technical replicability. We identified more than 1,000 ncR- NAs whose apparent expression was repressed by CEP-1, while around 200 were activated. Around 40% of the CEP-1 activated ncRNAs promoters contain a putative CEP-1- binding site. CEP-1 regulated ncRNAs were frequently clustered and concentrated on the X chromosome. These results indicate that numerous ncRNAs are involved in CEP-1 transcriptional network and that these are espe- cially enriched on the X chromosome in C. elegans.

Channel Modeling and Performance Analysis for UAV Relay Systems

In this paper, a multi-hop relay channel model based on unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) is established by taking into account of the propagation loss, shadowing, and multi-path fading. Based on the proposed channel model, the cascaded propagation loss of relay link and the cascaded probability density function(PDF) of channel fading are derived. Moreover, the theoretical performance of the UAV-based relay system, i.e., the outage probability, bit error rate(BER), and channel capacity, is also analysed and derived. Simulation results show agreement with theoretical results for the hill, mountain, and sea scenarios, indicating the accuracy of both the simulations and derivations.
