1 Introduction For developers,fault localization is the most tedious and time-consuming *** order to reduce the burden of developers,researchers have developed various techniques to help reduce the cost of locating faults based on possibility of containing a fault in program statements[1].Among them,coverage-based fault localization is one of the most studied automated fault localization ***-based fault localization methods utilize a type of preliminary information to localize the faults in programs,which is a matrix of statements’coverage *** value of each element is 1 or 0,in which 1 means a statement is executed and 0 denotes a statement is not executed[1].

To enhance training in software development,we argue that students of software engineering should be exposed to software development activities early in the *** entails meeting the challenge of engaging students in software development before they take the software engineering *** this paper,we propose a method to connect courses in the software engineering curriculum by setting comprehensive development projects to students in prerequisite courses for software *** the Discrete Mathematics(DM)course as an example,we describe the implementation of the proposed method and teaching practices using several practical and comprehensive projects derived from topics in discrete *** descriptions of the sample projects,their application,and training results are *** and lessons learned from applying these practices show that it is a promising way to connect courses in the software engineering curriculum.

Fault localization techniques are originally proposed to assist in manual debugging by generally producing a rank list of suspicious *** the increasing popularity of automated program repair,the fault localization techniques have been introduced to effectively reduce the search space of automated program *** developers who mainly focus on the rank information,current automated program repair has two strategies to use the fault localization information:suspiciousness-first algorithm(SFA)based on the suspiciousness accuracy and rank-first algorithm(RFA)relying on the rank ***,despite the fact that the two different usages are widely adopted by current automated program repair and may result in different repair results,little is known about the impacts of the two strategies on automated program *** this paper we empirically compare the performance of SFA and RFA in the context of automated program ***,we implement the two strategies and six well-studied fault localization techniques into four state-of-the-art automated program repair tools,and then use these tools to perform repair experiments on 60 real-world bugs from *** study presents a number of interesting findings:RFA outperforms SFA in 70.02%of cases when measured by the number of candidate patches generated before a valid patch is found(NCP),while SFA performs better in parallel repair and patch diversity;the performance of SFA can be improved by increasing the suspiciousness accuracy of fault localization techniques;finally,we use SimFix that deploys SFA to successfully repair four extra Defects4J bugs which cannot be repaired by SimFix originally using *** observations provide a new perspective for future research on the usage and improvement of fault localization in automated program repair.

Dear editor,Merging of various branches of software with the current branch is common in collaborative software *** decades of hard work on detecting merge conflicts,various tools have been proposed [1] for assisting software developers in detecting and resolving conflicts. However,software developers are still deeply relying on textual merge tools to handle complicated merge tasks [2]. They may not be able to detect latent semantic merge conflicts, which reduces the software quality.

Pile foundation bearing-retaining wall combination structure is a new type of support structure developed in recent *** article focuses on the characteristics,advantages,and application scope of the support structure,while combining a variety of algorithms,according to different geological conditions and slope stability,as well as summarizes the pile foundation bearing-retaining wall combination structure force analysis and design methods,taking a high-fill road project in Chongqing as an *** application of this support structure under special conditions,such as thicker soil layer,steeper sliding surface,weak foundation,and limited slope release conditions,is presented,which illustrates the technical advantages of this support structure and proving that it has several other advantages,including clear force mechanism as well as economic and reasonable structure,thus providing reference for similar projects.

Effects of recombinant human growth hormone on intestinal translocation of bacteria and endotoxin in rats with obstructive jaundice

Extrahepatic biliary obstruction promotes intestinal translocation of bacteria and endotoxin and this process is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with jaundice. This study was undertaken to investigate the effect and mechanism of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) and to alleviate intestinal translocation of bacteria and endotoxin in murine obstructive jaundice. METHODS:A group of 42 Wistar rats were divided into 3 groups:sham operation (SO), bile duct ligation (BDL), and BDL and rhGH treatment (rhGH). By the end of the experiment,on day 7, the animals were killed, and their liver function and serum endotoxin were measured, bacterial cultures of the liver, kidney and mesenchymal lymph were made. Terminal ileum mucosa was observed under an electron microscope. RESULTS:Liver function was improved more significantly in the rhGH group than in the BDL group. The value of endotoxin in the rhGH group was 0.38±0.03 EU/ml, significantly lower than that in the BDL group (0.65±0.04 EU/ml, P0.05). The rate of bacteria translocation in the liver, kidney and mesenteric lymph was much higher in the BDL group than in other two groups. The rate of bacteria translocation in mesenteric lymph was 64.29%,significantly higher than that in the SO group and the rhGH group (P0.05). Under an electron microscope , ileum mucosa epithelial cells in the BDL group were necrotic, and organelle were markedly metamorphic. In the rhGH group, ultrastructural changes were less evident or similar to those in the SO group. CONCLUSION:rhGH has significant protective effects on intestinal mucosa barrier in obstructive jaundice, and reduces intestinal translocation of bacteria and endotoxin.

Solar steam generation(SSG)is widely regarded as one of the most sustainable technologies for seawater ***,salt fouling severely compromises the evaporation performance and lifetime of evaporators,limiting their practical ***,we propose a hierarchical salt-rejection(HSR)strategy to prevent salt precipitation during long-term evaporation while maintaining a rapid evaporation rate,even in high-salinity *** salt diffusion process is segmented into three steps—insulation,branching diffusion,and arterial transport—that significantly enhance the salt-resistance properties of the ***,the HSR strategy overcomes the tradeoff between salt resistance and evaporation ***,a high evaporation rate of 2.84 kg m^(-2) h^(-1),stable evaporation for 7 days cyclic tests in 20 wt%NaCl solution,and continuous operation for 170 h in natural seawater under 1 sun illumination were *** with control evaporators,the HSR evaporator exhibited a>54%enhancement in total water evaporation mass during 24 h continuous evaporation in 20 wt%salt ***,a water collection device equipped with the HSR evaporator realized a high water purification rate(1.1 kg m^(-2) h^(-1)),highlighting its potential for agricultural applications.

More efficient automatic repair of large-scale programs using weak recompilation

Automatically repairing a bug can be a time-consuming process especially for large-scale programs owing to the significant amount of time spent recompiling and reinstalling the patched *** reduce this time overhead and speed up the repair process,in this paper we present a recompilation technique called weak *** weak recompilation,we assume that a program consists of a set of components,and for each candidate patch only the altered components are recompiled to a shared *** original program is then dynamically updated by a function indirection *** advantage of weak recompilation is that redundant recompilation cost can be avoided,and while the reinstallation cost is completely eliminated as the original executable program is not modified at *** maximum applicability of weak recompilation we created WAutoRepair,a scalable system for fixing bugs with high efficiency in large-scale C *** experiments on real bugs in widely used programs show that our repair system significantly outperforms Genprog,a wellknown approach to automatic program *** the wireshark program containing over 2 million lines of code,WAutoRepair is over 128 times faster in terms of recompilation cost than Genprog.

Ferroptosis has been recognized as a unique cell death modality driven by excessive lipid peroxidation and unbalanced cellular *** this study,we established a protein interaction landscape for ferroptosis pathways through proteomic analyses,and identified choline/ethanolamine phosphotransferase 1(CEPT1)as a lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransferase 3(LPCAT3)-interacting protein that regulates LPCAT3 protein *** contrast to its known role in promoting phospholipid synthesis,we showed that CEPT1 suppresses ferroptosis potentially by interacting with phospholipases and breaking down certain pro-ferroptotic polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA)-containing ***,our study reveals a previously unrecognized role of CEPT1 in suppressing ferroptosis.
