Energy transfer enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution in organic heterostructure nanoparticles via flash nanoprecipitation processing

Organic nanophotocatalysts are promising candidates for solar fuels production,but they still face the challenge of unfavorable geminate recombination due to the limited exciton diffusion ***,we introduce a binary nanophotocatalyst fabricated by blending two polymers,PS-PEG5(PS)and PBT-PEG5(PBT),with matched absorption and emission spectra,enabling a F€orster resonance energy transfer(FRET)process for enhanced *** heterostructure nanophotocatalysts are processed using a facile and scalable flash nanoprecipitation(FNP)technique with precious kinetic control over binary nanoparticle *** resulting nanoparticles exhibit an exceptional photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate up to 65 mmol g^(-1) h^(-1),2.5 times higher than that single component *** through fluorescence spectra and transient absorption spectra confirm the hetero-energy transfer within the binary nanoparticles,which prolongs the excited-state lifetime and extends the namely“effective exciton diffusion length”.Our finding opens new avenues for designing efficient organic photocatalysts by improving exciton migration.

High toughness and strong electromagnetic shielding properties of PAM/PEG dual network hydrogels

With the wide application of electromagnetic wave,a high performance electromagnetic shielding material is urgently needed to solve the harm caused by electromagnetic *** cross-linking strategy is adopted in this ***(PAM)was synthesized by in-situ polymerization of acrylamide(AM)*** obtained PAM was blended with polyethylene glycol(PEG)to prepare PAM/PEG hydrogels and form rigid support ***,the modified carbon nanotubes(S-CNTs)were incorpor-ated into sodium alginate(SA)and PAM/***,Na+was used to trigger SA self-assembly,which significantly improved the mechanical properties and electrical conductivity of the hydrogels,and prepared PAM/PEG/SA/S-CNTs-Na hydrogels with high tough-ness and strong electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding efficiency(SE).The results showed that the compressive strength of PAM/PEG/SA/S-CNTs-Na hydrogel was 19.05 MPa,which was 7.69%higher than that of PAM/PEG hydrogel(17.69 MPa).More en-couraging,the average EMI SE of PAM/PEG/SA/S-CNTs-Na hydrogels at a thickness of only 3 mm and a CNTs content of 16.53wt%was 32.92 dB,which is 113.21%higher than that of PAM/PEG hydrogels(15.44 dB).

Perfluoroalkyl acid analogs(PFAAs)are a class of chemically stable environmentally persistent organic pollutants(POPs)that are difficult to degrade and have a strong capacity to accumulate in the human *** have been found to be biotoxic to humans and have been detected in various environmental media,especially in the cryosphere at trace *** cryosphere,sensitively responds to climate change,plays a crucial role in the global water,carbon and energy ***,researches on cryosphere PFAAs especially in Tibetan Plateau(TP)is ***,we summarize the physicochemical properties,physiological toxicity,spatiotemporal distribution,sources,diffusion and migration pathways,as well as analysis and removal methods of PFAAs in the cryosphere *** results show that PFAAs pollutants are mainly produced and distributed in the more economically developed countries in Europe and the United States,as well as in East Asia,and PFAAs can be transported by atmospheric circulation and water cycle to remote regions including cryosphere *** current detection methods for PFAAs in cryosphere need to be further refined for increased accuracy and *** is also a need to develop more effective removal methods that will reduce the environmental and human threats posed by these ***,we propose key scientific questions for future research in cryosphere including PFAAs redistribution influenced by cryosphere changes,human activities,and the interaction of other spheres.

Power synchronization: taming massive diversified serverless functions under power constraints

Carbon neutrality has become an important design objective worldwide. However, the on-going shift to cloud-naive era does not necessarily mean energy efficiency. From the perspective of power management, co-hosted serverless functions are difficult to tame. They are lightweight, short-lived applications sensitive to power capping activities. In addition, they exhibit great individual and temporal variability, presenting idiosyncratic performance/power scaling goals that are often at odds with one another. To date, very few proposals exist in terms of tailored power management for serverless platforms. In this work, we introduce power synchronization, a novel yet generic mechanism for managing serverless functions in a power-efficient way. Our insight with power synchronization is that uniform application power behavior enables consistent and uncompromised function operation on shared host machines. We also propose PowerSync, a synchronization-based power management framework that ensures optimal efficiency based on a clear understanding of functions. Our evaluation shows that PowerSync can improve the energy efficiency of functions by up to 16% without performance loss compared to conventional power management strategies.

Let-7 microRNA targets BmCentrin to modulate the development and functionality of the middle silk gland in the silkworm,Bombyx mori

The silk gland of the silkworm Bombyx mori serves as a valuable model for investigating the morphological structure and physiological functions of *** studies have demonstrated the notable regulatory role of let-7 microRNA in the silk gland,but its specific molecular mechanism remains to be elucidated across different segments of this *** this study,we further investigated the functional mechanism of let-7 in the middle silk gland(MSG).The MSG of a let-7 knockout strain was analyzed using a combined proteomic and metabolomic technique,revealing the enrichment of differential proteins and metabolites in the DNA synthesis and energy metabolism *** was identified as a novel target gene of let-7 in the MSG,and its downregulation inhibited the proliferation of BmN4-SID1 cells,which is exactly opposite to the role of let-7 in these ***/Cas9 genome editing and transgenic technologies were employed to manipulate BmCentrin in the *** of BmCentrin led to severe MSG atrophy,whereas the overexpression of BmCentrin resulted in beaded *** measurements of these knockout or overexpression strains revealed significant changes in the expression levels of sericin protein genes,the weight of the cocoon and the mechanical properties of the *** the biological role of BmCentrin in the silk gland offers valuable insights for elucidating the molecular mechanisms by which let-7 controls silk gland development and silk protein synthesis in the silkworm.

Quantum-enhanced interferometry with unbalanced entangled coherent states

We propose a quantum-enhanced metrological scheme utilizing unbalanced entangled coherent states(ECSs) generated by passing a coherent state and a coherent state superposition through an unbalanced beam splitter(BS). We identify the optimal phase sensitivity of this scheme by maximizing the quantum Fisher information(QFI) with respect to the BS transmission ratio. Our scheme outperforms the conventional scheme with a balanced BS, particularly in the presence of single-mode photon loss. Notably, our scheme retains quantum advantage in phase sensitivity in the limit of high photon intensity, where the balanced scheme offers no advantage over the classical strategy.

为提高水工隧洞混凝土衬砌脱空检测精准度,从混凝土衬砌脱空地球物理响应特征出发,引入了冲击回波法、地质雷达法、超声横波三维反射成像法综合物探检测方法,结合三种方法在水工隧洞混凝土衬砌质量检测中的应用及验证情况,对混凝土衬砌检测中的应用效果进行分析总结。结果表明:超声横波反射三维成像法既不受金属物屏蔽的影响,也不受气相和液相介质的干扰(横波只在固相介质中传播),对衬砌混凝土厚度、钢筋分布、混凝土密实及脱空均有良好的检测效果,成果直观、清晰度、准确度高,值得推广。

Advances in regional-scale crop growth and associated process modeling

In the context of global change, ensuring national food security and achieving sustainable development of agricultural production systems have become major challenges worldwide. To address these issues, regional-scale crop growth and associated process(CROP-AP) models, with their robust simulation and predictive capabilities, have emerged as important tools for studying a wide range of issues relating to agricultural production at river basin, national, and even global scales. Here, we provide a systematic review of the advances of regional-scale CROP-AP models. First, regional-scale CROP-AP models are categorized based on model characteristics: statistical models, crop growth models, hydrology-crop coupling models, and ecosystem models. The origin, development, principle, structure, and application of each model type are introduced. Then, the main functions of regional-scale CROP-AP models are critically reviewed from five aspects: crop yield prediction, crop water consumption, agricultural non-point source pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and climate change impact and ***, the future development trends and research priorities of regional-scale CROP-AP models are explored from six key perspectives: model validation and calibration, the ability to simulate the coupling of crop physiology and human activities,enhancing model scalability, multi-model ensembles, data and code sharing, and the integration of artificial intelligence. This review aims to provide comprehensive references and insights for the further development and application of large-scale, high-precision CROP-AP models.

目的通过对1例因"脑梗死"入院,检查发现为心脏黏液瘤并颅内多发夹层动脉瘤及动静脉瘘的报道,探讨心脏黏液瘤及其合并症的发病机制和处理措施。方法患者入院后行心脏黏液瘤切除,动脉瘤和动静脉瘘未做处理,出院后随诊50个月,无明显不适。查阅国内外文献发现,不少文献是关于心房黏液瘤并发假性动脉瘤的,尚未查及关于合并动静脉瘘的报道。结果心脏黏液瘤是心脏原发肿瘤中最常见的类型,其合并多发动脉瘤和动静脉瘘的发病机制,主要包括栓子种植学说及其引起的局部炎症。治疗主要为手术切除原发灶,假性动脉瘤和动静脉瘘随访观察,尚无合并放化疗的推荐意见。结论心脏黏液瘤因为易脱落,造成转移、种植而危害极大,虽其发病率较低,但仍需高度关注。

Spatiotemporal Variations in Climatic Factors,Catchment Characteristic Induced Runoff Changes with Multi-Time Scales across the Contiguous United States

Previous works were mainly concentrated on long-term average runoff alterations,and extreme temperatures and watershed conditions are little *** this study,we collected gauged river flow and meteorological data time series from 1916 to 2015 and 1941 to 2015 across the contiguous United States(CONUS)for 188 catchments to investigate the temporal trends and spatial features of runoff changes at multi-time *** also analyzed the relationships between runoff changes and climatic *** descriptive statistics and Budyko coupled climate elasticity methods were used to calculate runoff elasticity in each time *** original Mann-Kendall trend test was used to test their trend significance in four time-scale(11,20,40,and 60 a),*** results show that the trend of runoff changes is more significant in high time scales;total changes are heterogeneous over *** the 1970s,increases of up to 27%decade-1 were mainly concentrated in the mid-northern *** temperature and catchment characteristics are vital factors for runoff alteration;runoff changes are independent of rainfall,and wet regions tend to have lower *** findings could help develop better regional water resource planning and management.
