Background Atrial fibrillation(AF)is a generally acknowledged turning-point of the natural history of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM);however,data from the cryoballoon ablation(CBA)for AF in HCM patients are relatively *** study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of CBA in HCM patients with *** We retrospectively analyzed HCM patients among 1253 patients with symptomatic AF who underwent CBA for pulmonary vein isolation in a single *** study analyzed the AF recurrence and assessed the CBA indexes,including nadir temperature,time-to-isolation,CBA failure,pulmonary vein potentials(PVPs),and redo *** A total of 108 patients were included(mean age:59.0±6.9 years),27 patients(25%)had HCM,with the median follow-up duration of 25.5 *** one-year AF-free rates were 79.0%vs.63.0%(non-HCM ***),while the two-year AF-free rates were 77.8%vs.55.1%[hazard ratio(HR)=2.758,log-rank P=0.024].Patients with persistent AF had poor AF-free rates compared to those with paroxysmal AF(P<0.001).The CBA failure was the most common in the right inferior pulmonary veins,which had the lowest *** Cox regression analysis indicated that HCM and persistent AF were risk factors for AF recurrence(HR=2.74,95%CI:1.29–5.79,P=0.008;and HR=3.97,95%CI:1.85–8.54,P<0.001,respectively).Conclusions The CBA can be effectively and safely used to treat HCM patients with symptomatic *** freedom from AF for HCM patients after CBA is relatively low compared to that for non-HCM patients.

AIM: To investigate the chemical constituents of Selaginella sinensis(Desv.) Spring. METHODS: Chromatographic separations on Diaion HP-20, silica gel, and Sephadex LH-20 were used. The structures of the isolates were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis, as well as chemical methods. RESULTS: Eight compounds were obtained and their structures were identified as sinensioside A(1), syringaresinol-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(2),(+)-medioresinol-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(3), pinoresinol-4, 4′-di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(4), quercetin(5), eucomic acid(6), shikimic acid(7), and 2, 3-dihydroamentoflavone(8). CONCLUSION: Compound 1 is a new dihydrobenzofuran sesquilignan glycoside from Selaginella sinensis.

The lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation, a widespread black shale deposition, is of geological interest because of its polymetallic beds, Cambrian explosion, depositional ages, dramatic environmental changes and so on. Previous study focused mainly on inorganic geochemistry and few studies have investigated the organic fractions of upper Neoproterozoic-lower Cambrian strata in South China. Here we report a study of biomarkers plus organic carbon isotopes for black shales from Ganziping, Hunan Province （China）. All the saturated hydrocarbon fractions have a unimodal distribution of n-alkanes, a high content of short-chain alkanes and maximize at C 19 or C 20 （C 23 for sample Gzh00-1）. The C 27 /C 29 sterane ratio ranges from 0.77 to 1.20 and 4-methylsteranes are in low abundance. These parameters indicate that algae and bacteria are the important primary producers. Furthermore, biomarker maturity proxies show the samples to be higher maturity. The low Pr/Ph values （0.7） suggest that the samples were deposited under anoxic conditions and, likely, under stratified water columns. In addition, 25-norhopanes and gammacerane are present as diagnostic indicators of normal marine salinity and dysoxic to anoxic conditions. During the Early Tommotian, known to coincide with a transgression event, small shelly fossils increased in abundance and diversity. Moreover, positive δ 13 C org excursions close to 1.4‰ occur at the base of the Tommotian stage. In summary, the Early Cambrian black shales were deposited under dramatic paleoenvironmental changes, including oceanic anoxia, higher primary productivity and sea-level rise.

This study compares the strength characteristics of rocks anchored by NPR bolts and ordinary bolts with varied preloads,based on the mechanical properties of NPR bolts(with a negative Poisson’s ratio).The results show that the uniaxial compressive stress-strain curve of ordinary anchored rocks exhibits noticeable abrupt *** reaching peak strength,the bolt breaks,whereas the stress-strain curve of NPR-anchored rocks is *** NPR bolt enters the stage of continuous resistance after reaching maximal strength and does not *** the preload increases,the strength of the anchored rock grows linearly.A calculation equation for the strength of the anchored rock is proposed based on the *** theoretical equation fits the test results well,and the fitted parameters show that NPR bolts can better increase the strength of the *** concept of dynamic toughness UC of anchored rock is proposed to reflect the comprehensive mechanical properties of anchored rock,including strength and *** the preload increases,the UC of ordinary anchored rock first decreases and then increases,while the UC of the NPR anchored rock does not change significantly with the preload when the strain is small,and the UC increases with the increase of the preload when the strain is large.

BACKGROUND Accumulating evidence has shown that adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells(ADSCs)are an effective therapeutic approach for managing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19);however,further elucidation is required to determine their underlying immunomodulatory effect on the mRNA expression of T helper cell-related transcription factors(TFs)and cytokine release in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs).AIM To investigate the impact of ADSCs on the mRNA expression of TFs and cytokine release in PBMCs from colorectal cancer(CRC)patients with severe COVID-19(CRC^(+)patients).METHODS PBMCs from CRC^(+)patients(PBMCs-C+)and age-matched CRC patients(PBMCs-C)were stimulated and cultured in the presence/absence of *** mRNA levels of T-box TF TBX21(T-bet),GATA binding protein 3(GATA-3),RAR-related orphan receptor C(RORC),and forkhead box P3(FoxP3)in the PBMCs were determined by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain *** supernatants were evaluated for levels of interferon gamma(IFN-γ),interleukin 4(IL-4),IL-17A,and transforming growth factor beta 1(TGF-β1)using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** Compared with PBMCs-C,PBMCs-C+exhibited higher mRNA levels of T-bet and RORC,and increased levels of IFN-γ and ***,a significant decrease in FoxP3 mRNA and TGF-β1,as well as an increase in Tbet/GATA-3,RORC/FoxP3,IFN-γ/IL-4,and IL-17A/TGF-β1 ratios were observed in PBMCs-C+.Furthermore,ADSCs significantly induced a functional regulatory T cell(Treg)subset,as evidenced by an increase in FoxP3 mRNA and TGF-β1 release *** was accompanied by a significant decrease in the mRNA levels of T-bet and RORC,release of IFN-γ and IL-17A,and T-bet/GATA-3,RORC/FoxP3,IFN-γ/IL-4,and IL-17A/TGF-β1 ratios,compared with the PBMCs-C+*** The present in vitro studies showed that ADSCs contributed to the immunosuppressive effects on PBMCs-C+,favoring Treg ***,ADSC-based cell therapy could be a beneficial approach for p

Photocatalysis has attracted much attention in recent years due to its potential in solving energy and environmental issues. Even though numerous achievements have been made, the photocatalytic systems developed to date are still far from practical applications due to the low efficiency and poor durability. Efficient light absorption and charge separation are two of the key factors for the exploration of high performance photocatalytic systems, which is generally difficult to be obtained in a single photocata- lyst. The combination of various materials to form heterojunctions provides an effective way to better harvest solar energy and to facilitate charge separation and transfer, thus enhancing the photocatalytic activity and stability. This review concisely summarizes the recent development of visible light respon- sive heterojunctions, including the preparation and performances of semiconductor/semiconductor junctions, semiconductor/cocatalyst junctions, semiconductor/metal junctions, semiconductor/non- metal junctions, and surface heterojunctions, and their mechanism for enhanced light harvesting and charge separation/transfer.

Pattern-triggered immunity(PTI) is an essential strategy used by plants to deploy broad-spectrum resistance against pathogen attacks. Heterotrimeric G proteins have been reported to contribute to *** the three non-canonical EXTRA-LARGE G PROTEINs(XLGs) in Arabidopsis thaliana, XLG2 and XLG3 were shown to positively regulate immunity,but XLG1 was not considered to function in defense,based on the analysis of a weak xlg1 *** this study, we characterized the xlg1 xlg2 xlg3 triple knockout mutants generated from an xlg1 knockout allele. The strong xlg1 xlg2 xlg3 triple mutants compromised pathogen-associated molecular pattern(PAMP)-triggered activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPKs) and resistance to pathogen infection. The three XLGs interacted with MAPK cascade proteins involved in defense signaling, including the MAPK kinase kinases MAPKKK3 and MAPKKK5, the MAPK kinases MKK4 and MKK5, and the MAPKs MPK3 and MPK6. Expressing a constitutively active form of MKK4 restored MAPK activation and partially recovered the compromised disease resistance seen in the strong xlg1 xlg2 xlg3 triple mutant. Furthermore, mutations of all three XLGs largely restored the phenotype of the autoimmunity mutant bak1-interacting receptor-like kinase 1. Our study reveals that all three XLGs function redundantly in PAMP-triggered MAPK activation and plant immunity.
