BACKGROUND Uridine diphosphate glucuronosyltransferase 1A1(UGT1A1)plays a crucial role in metabolizing and detoxifying endogenous and exogenous ***,its contribution to the progression of liver damage remains *** To determine the role and mechanism of UGT1A1 in liver damage *** We investigated the relationship between UGT1A1 expression and liver injury through clinical ***,the impact and mechanism of UGT1A1 on the progression of liver injury was analyzed through a mouse model *** Patients with UGT1A1 gene mutations showed varying degrees of liver damage,while patients with acute-onchronic liver failure(ACLF)exhibited relatively reduced levels of UGT1A1 protein in the liver as compared to patients with chronic *** suggests that low UGT1A1 levels may be associated with the progression of liver *** mouse models of liver injury induced by carbon tetrachloride(CCl_(4))and concanavalin A(ConA),the hepatic levels of UGT1A1 protein were found to be *** mice with lipopolysaccharide or liver steatosis-mediated liver-injury progression,the hepatic protein levels of UGT1A1 were decreased,which is consistent with the observations in patients with ***1A1 knockout exacerbated CCl_(4)-and ConA-induced liver injury,hepatocyte apoptosis and necroptosis in mice,intensified hepatocyte endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress and oxidative stress,and disrupted lipid *** UGT1A1 is upregulated as a compensatory response during liver injury,and interference with this upregulation process may worsen liver ***1A1 reduces ER stress,oxidative stress,and lipid metabolism disorder,thereby mitigating hepatocyte apoptosis and necroptosis.

Catch organism assemblages along artificial reefs area and adjacent waters in Haizhou Bay

To better understand the community patterns mediated by connectivity in artificial reefs of coastal areas, it is necessary to understand the distribution and coexistence of organisms with artificial reefs area and adjacent waters. This study was conducted to examine main catches assemblages collected by trawls in Haizhou Bay,which included five habitats: the artificial reef area(AR), aquaculture area(AA), natural area(NA), estuary area(EA) and comprehensive effect area(CEA). The result shows that the total abundances of species in the five habitats were highly different(univariate PERMANOVA: P = 0.001, n = 24), but some species were also unique in their habitat(e.g. Scapharca subcrenata and Glossaulax didyma in AA). The body size distribution of specific species between habitats are different. For Collichthys lucidus, their body size in AR(14.63 cm ± 1.64 cm) and EA(14.3 cm ± 0.85 cm) is higher than that in NA(10.65 cm ± 1.64 cm), CEA(11.28 cm ± 1.85 cm) and AA(12.1 cm ±0.43 cm), which indicates the potential connection from AR to EA mediated by their adult population. We concluded that artificial reefs in AR can be considered key components that have the ability to support species assemblages in adjacent habitats. This study has implications for the conservation and monitoring of species assemblages in coastal areas in terms of that artificial reefs can be applied in different stages of habitat protection implementation and in different combinations of scenarios.

Recent progress in single crystal perovskite X-ray detectors

Perovskites have attracted extensive attention as radiation detection material due to their long carrier diffusion length and lifetime, high absorption coefficient, and flexible manufacturing process. Compared with polycrystalline structures, single crystal perovskites improve the performance of optoelectronic devices due to their low defect state density, better photoelectric characteristics, and chemical ***, we review the recent progress of single crystal perovskite X-ray detectors. First, we briefly introduced the basic concepts, detection mechanisms, figure of merits of perovskite X-ray detectors, and the preparation methods of single crystal perovskites. Then, we summarized the significant advancements in single crystal perovskite X-ray detectors in recent times. Finally, we discussed the critical challenges and some practicable solutions for developing high-performance X-ray detectors.

Powered by advanced information technology,more and more complex systems are exhibiting characteristics of the cyber-physical-social systems(CPSS).In this context,computational experiments method has emerged as a novel approach for the design,analysis,management,control,and integration of CPSS,which can realize the causal analysis of complex systems by means of“algorithmization”of“counterfactuals”.However,because CPSS involve human and social factors(e.g.,autonomy,initiative,and sociality),it is difficult for traditional design of experiment(DOE)methods to achieve the generative explanation of system *** address this challenge,this paper proposes an integrated approach to the design of computational experiments,incorporating three key modules:1)Descriptive module:Determining the influencing factors and response variables of the system by means of the modeling of an artificial society;2)Interpretative module:Selecting factorial experimental design solution to identify the relationship between influencing factors and macro phenomena;3)Predictive module:Building a meta-model that is equivalent to artificial society to explore its operating ***,a case study of crowd-sourcing platforms is presented to illustrate the application process and effectiveness of the proposed approach,which can reveal the social impact of algorithmic behavior on“rider race”.

Milling degree affects the fermentation properties of rice:perspectives from the composition of nutrients and gut microbiota via in vitro fermentation

Fermentation substrates of rice with different milling degrees(MDs) were prepared and fermented with human feces to compare their fermentation properties and effects on gut *** 0s,MD 5s and MD 60s represented brown rice,moderately-milled rice and white rice,*** in vitro fermentation,the MD 5s group showed higher starch utilization,compared with the MD 0s and 60s groups evaluated by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer,and confocal laser scanning *** of fermentation substrates of rice with different MDs on gut microbiota were evaluated by 16S rDNA *** the sample groups reduced the pH and produced short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs) and branched-chain fatty *** MD 5s group exhibited higher α-diversity than the MD 0s and 60s *** of Phascolarctobacterium,Blautia and norank_f_Ruminococcaceae were higher in the MD 0s and 5s groups,compared with the MD 60s *** bacteria were also positively correlated with the SCFAs production via Spearman correlation *** vitro culture assay revealed that fermentation substrates of MD 0s and 5s promoted the growth of two probiotics(Akkermansia muciniphila and Bifidobacterium adolescentis).Our results showed that moderate milling might be an appropriate way to produce rice products with richer nutrients and better fermentation properties.

Flocculation flotation is the most efficient method for recovering fine-grained minerals,and its essence lies in flotation and recovery of *** physical characteristics of flocs are mainly determined by their apparent particle size and structure(density and morphology).Substantial researches have been conducted regarding the effect of floc characteristics on particle settling and water ***,the influence of floc characteristics on flotation has not been widely *** on the floc formation and flocculation flotation,this study reviews the fundamental physical characteristics of flocs from the perspectives of floc particle size and structure,summarizing the interaction between floc particle size and ***,it thoroughly discusses the effect of floc particle size and structure on floc floatability,further revealing the influence of floc characteristics on bubble collision and adhesion and elucidating the mechanisms of interaction between flocs and ***,it is observed that floc particle size is not the only factor influencing flocculation *** the appropriate apparent particle size range,flocs with a compact structure exhibit higher efficiency in bubble collision and adhesion during flotation,thereby resulting in enhanced flotation *** study aims to provide a reference for flocculation flotation,targeting the development of more efficient and refined flocculation flotation processes in the future.

Method for Detecting Industrial Defects in Intelligent Manufacturing Using Deep Learning

With the advent of Industry 4.0,marked by a surge in intelligent manufacturing,advanced sensors embedded in smart factories now enable extensive data collection on equipment *** analysis of such data is pivotal for ensuring production safety,a critical factor in monitoring the health status of manufacturing *** defect detection techniques,typically limited to specific scenarios,often require manual feature extraction,leading to inefficiencies and limited versatility in the overall *** research presents an intelligent defect detection methodology that leverages deep learning techniques to automate feature extraction and defect localization *** proposed approach encompasses a suite of components:the high-level feature learning block(HLFLB),the multi-scale feature learning block(MSFLB),and a dynamic adaptive fusion block(DAFB),working in tandem to extract meticulously and synergistically aggregate defect-related characteristics across various scales and hierarchical *** have conducted validation of the proposed method using datasets derived from gearbox and bearing *** empirical outcomes underscore the superior defect detection capability of our *** demonstrates consistently high performance across diverse datasets and possesses the accuracy required to categorize defects,taking into account their specific locations and the extent of damage,proving the method’s effectiveness and reliability in identifying defects in industrial components.
