We study chimera states in one-dimensional and two-dimensional Gaussian coupled map lattices through simulations and experiments. Similar to the case of global coupling oscillators, individual lattices can be regarded as being controlled by a common mean field. A space-dependent order pa- rameter is derived from a self-consistency condition in order to represent the collective state.

Tensor data have been widely used in many fields,e.g.,modern biomedical imaging,chemometrics,and economics,but often suffer from some common issues as in high dimensional *** to find their low-dimensional latent structure has been of great interest for *** this end,we develop two efficient tensor sufficient dimension reduction methods based on the sliced average variance estimation(SAVE)to estimate the corresponding dimension reduction *** first one,entitled tensor sliced average variance estimation(TSAVE),works well when the response is discrete or takes finite values,but is not■consistent for continuous response;the second one,named bias-correction tensor sliced average variance estimation(CTSAVE),is a de-biased version of the TSAVE *** asymptotic properties of both methods are derived under mild *** and real data examples are also provided to show the superiority of the efficiency of the developed methods.

Background: Although many risk factors for mortalityof necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) were investigated,most of them were obtained from preterm infants, andfew works focused on the prognostic risk factors in fullterminfants. This study aimed to identify risk factors anddevelop a prediction score model for mortality in fulltermneonates with ***: The risk factors were analyzed retrospectivelyby bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis in153 full-term neonates with NEC, who were hospitalizedin Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical Universityfrom 2000 to 2013. A prediction score model was developedaccording to the regression coeffi cients of risk ***: The mortality of the infants was 19.6%(30/153). The non-survivors had a younger age of diagnosisand advanced stage of NEC (Plications, compared with thesurvivors (Plikely to have abnormal laboratoryindicators than survivors (Plity of full-term infants with NEC. Infants with apredictive score of 8 were at high risk for death.

Objective:The study compared laparoscopy-assisted gastrectomy(LAG) with open gastrectomy(OG) in the management of advanced gastric cancer(AGC).Methods:literature search was performed in the Medline,Embase,and Cochrane library databases to identify control studies that compared LAG and OG for AGC.A meta-analysis was conducted to examine the surgical safety and oncologic adequacy,using the random-effect ***:Seven eligible studies including 815 patients were *** was associated with less blood loss,less use of analgesics,shorter time of flatus and periods of hospital stay,but longer time of *** incidence of most complications was similar between the two ***,LAG was associated with a lower rate of pulmonary infection(odds ratio(OR) 0.19;95% confidence interval(CI) 0.05 to 0.68;P0.05),overall mortality(OR 0.65;95% CI 0.39 to 1.10;P>0.05),cancer-related mortality(OR 0.64;95% CI 0.32 to 1.25;P>0.05),or recurrence(OR 0.62;95% CI 0.33 to 1.16;P>0.05).Conclusions:LAG could be performed safely for AGC with adequate lymphadenectomy and has several short-term advantages compared with conventional *** differences were found in long-term ***,these results should be validated in large randomized controlled studies(RCTs) with sufficient follow-up.

To the Editor: We sincerely applaud the work by Tang et al., in which they described caudate lobe-sparing subtotal hepatectomy as treatment for intrahepatic arterioportal fistulas [ 1 ]. Compared to intrahepatic arterioportal fistulas, portal vein-hepatic vein fistulas are rarely reported. Patients typically lack clinical symptoms such as hyperammonemia, cholestatic jaundice, and hypoglycemia, unless the shunt becomes relatively large [ 2, 3 ]. Herein, we describe partial hepatectomy as a treatment for cases of left portal vein-middle hepatic vein fistulas.

Competitiveness for nodulation of Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains plays a key role in symbiotic nitrogen fixation. In order to reveal the difference in competitiveness, B. japonicum 4534 with high competitiveness and B. japonicum 4222 with low competitiveness for nodulation were analyzed by proteomic technique. The results showed that differential proteins were fewer when two strains were treated with just daidzein. Only 24 and 10 differential proteins were detected with an up-regulated rate of 58 and 40% in B. japonicum 4534 and B. japonicum 4222, respectively. However, more differential proteins were detected upon treatment with daidzein and mutual extracellular materials simultaneously. There were 78 differential proteins detected in B. japonicum 4534 with 43 being up-regulated and 35 being down-regulated. These differential proteins, such as metabolism-related proteins, transporters, transcription-related proteins, translation-related proteins, and flagellin, were found to be associated with nodulation process. 25 up-regulated and 22 down-regulated proteins were detected in B. japonicum 4222. Some of these proteins were not related to nodulation. More differential proteins associated with nodulation in B. japonicum 4534 may be the reason for its high competitiveness. The results can provide a guide to the selection and inoculation of effective strains and are significant to biological nitrogen fixation.

Zn-li alloys are considered promising candidate materials for biodegradable orthopedic implant applications due to their high mechanical performance and good ***,the presence of a large number of second-phase particles in this class of Zn alloys can lead to severe localized degradation due to micro-galvanic corrosion,which is detrimental to the mechanical integrity of the alloys during tissue healing in the human *** this study we report ultrahigh strength,uniform corrosion,good cytocompatibility,and effective antibacterial ability in Zn-x li（x=0.3,0.5,0.7;wt%） alloys achieved through supersaturated solid solution treatment （SSST） at 375℃ under ultrahigh pressure of 3 GPa.A high concentration of β-liZn4phases coexisted with the-Zn matrix in the as-cast Zn-x li alloys,whereas almost all the li dissolved into the-Zn matrix of SSST *** yield strength was 437 MPa for SSST Zn-0.3li,592 MPa for SSST Zn-0.5 li and 686 MPa for SSST *** SSST Zn-li alloys showed uniform degradation with remarkably reduced degradation rates compared to their as-cast *** 25% concentration extracts of the Zn-x li alloys demonstrated no cytotoxicity toward MC3T3-E1 cells,and the alloys exhibited effective antibacterial ability agains methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus.

The li-Mg-B-H composite(2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2))has a high capacity of 11.4 wt%as a hydrogen storage ***,the slow kinetics and poor cycling stability severely restrict its practical *** this work,a layered Nb_(2)C MXene was first synthesized and then introduced to tailor the kinetics and cycling stability of the li-Mg-B-H *** milled 2liH+MgB_(2)composites were initially hydrogenated to obtain the 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2)*** 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2)+5wt%Nb_(2)C can release 9.0 wt%H_(2)in 30 min at 400℃,while it is only 2.7 wt%for the undoped 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2).The dehydrogenation activation energies of MgH_(2)and liBH_(4)are 123 and 154 kJ·mol^(-1)respectively for the 5 wt%Nb_(2)C-doped composite,lower than the undoped composite(164 and 165 kJ·mol^(-1)).The 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2)+5 wt%Nb_(2)C possesses excellent cycling stability,with the reversible capacity only slightly reduced from 9.4 wt%for the 1st cycle to 9.3 wt%for the 20th ***_(2)C keeps stable in the composite and acts as an efficient catalyst for the li-Mg-B-H *** is believed that both the layered structure and the active Nb element contribu te to the enhanced hydrogen storage performances of the li-Mg-B-H *** work confirms that the Nb_(2)C MXene with layered stru cture has a significant enhancing impact on the li-Mg-B-H hydrogen storage materials,which is different from the bulk NbC.
