BACKGROUND Patellar tendon rupture is a rare disease,and reports regarding patellar tendon reconstruction with ligament augmentation reconstruction system(LARS)ligaments are limited,with only three reports available in the *** ligaments are made of polyethylene terephthalate and have been certified as a more favorable option than other tendon *** our knowledge,this is the first report of patellar tendon reconstruction with LARS for suture fixation due to poor quality of the tendon after multiple operations to enable early mobilization and quick *** SUMMARY A 65-year-old woman had limited ability in extending her leg and an inability to perform a straight leg raise after multiple operations due to patella *** patient underwent patellar tendon reconstruction with LARS artificial *** 12 mo of follow-up,the patient was able to perform a straight leg raise,and the incision healed well without *** Lysholmscore was 95 and the range of motion of the knee was 0-130°.CONCLUSION This study revealed that patellar tendon reconstruction with LARS artificial ligaments is possible in a patient with a patellar tendon rupture who required rapid postoperative recovery.

BACKGROUND Discoid meniscus is a congenital anomaly that typically affects the lateral *** appearance of the discoid medial meniscus in both knees is extremely rare,with an incidence of only 0.012%.CASE SUMMARY Our patient was a 30-year-old *** no obvious predisposing causes,she began to experience pain in both knees,which worsened while walking and *** pain was aggravated after exercise,and joint flexion and extension activities were accompanied by knee ***’s test was positive on physical examination,and there was a pressing pain in the medial articular *** radiographs of both knees revealed no obvious abnormalities in the bilateral knee joint *** meniscectomy as well as menisci reformation were performed on both knees under *** the guidance of rehabilitation,the patient’s range of motion in both knees returned to normal without pain and knee *** This study showed that the clinical manifestations of the discoid medial meniscus injury are identical to those of the conventional medial meniscus injury,and arthroscopic surgery is effective.

Objective： Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency are global public health problems, which must first be identified before they can be appropriately addressed, and yet information is strikingly lacking in most parts of the Asia and Pacific region. The study aimed to document and account for the actual situation in Wenzhou on the southeastern coast of China. Subjects and methods： Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels among a total of 5845 infants, preschool children, school children, and adolescents aged 1-18 years were examined between March 2014 and February 2015. Results： Their mean levels were （110.2＋26.8）, （77.5＋25.7）, （55.6＋15.4）, and （47.2＋13.9） nmol/L, respectively. Older age groups were involved in increasing risk of vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency. There were significant seasonal differences in its median level and prevalence of deficiency and insufficiency among school children and adolescents, but there was no significant sex difference in mean level and prevalence in any age group. Conclusions： Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency were prevalent among infants, preschool children, school children, and adolescents in Wenzhou. A vitamin D-rich diet and outdoor activities for 1-2 h per day under the natural conditions favorable to its endogeous synthesis do not suffice. The vitamin D status in Wenzhounese infants excelling over that in the US was the result of its supplementation thanks to the Chinese Medical Association recommendations, which should be conse- quently extended to more age groups. Life style shaped by socio-economic environments affects vitamin D status. Knowledge on the importance of vitamin D for healthy growth should be popularized.

The microstructures of the siliconized specimens of Ti-48Al alloy were analyzed by SEM equipped with XEDS. The specimens were pack siliconized with the two different cementations, 15%Si+85% A12O3 and 15%Si+85%ZrO2. The results show that a composite siliconized layer is formed on the surface of the TiAl alloy. The outer layer is the continuous A12O3 where a lot of Si particles adhered; the inner layer is most of Ti5Si3 with amount of ALjOs particles dispersed in. It was deduced that the A12O3 in the cementation layer is formed by the Al atoms in the TiAl substrate react with the residual O in the furnace and in the TiAl substrate.

Electrochemical conversion of methane to bridge the gap in the artificial carbon cycle

This paper analyzes the advantages of PFI project and the feasibility of highway construction project, analyzes the risk factors and the project stakeholders, and establishes the risk factors involved in the construction project, and establishes a risk assessment system, and uses the analytic hierarchy process to calculate the weight of the evaluation index, and then improve the objectivity of the evaluation system. The main body of the financing is involved in the cluster analysis, quantitative analysis, and through the gray clustering algorithm to evaluate the risk index value, and finally quantitative analysis of PFI financing mode in the highway construction projects in the use of integrated risk.

Methane, an abundant one-carbon（C1） resource, is extensively used in the industrial production of vital fuels and value-added chemicals. However, current industrial methane conversion technologies are energy-and carbon-intensive, mainly due to the high activation energy required to break the inert C–H bond, low selectivity, and problematic side reactions, including CO2emissions and coke deposition. Electrochemical conversion of methane（ECM） using intermittent renewable energy offers an attractive solution, due to its modular reactor design and operational flexibility across a broad spectrum of temperatures and pressures. This review emphasizes conversion pathways of methane in various reaction systems, highlighting the significance and advantages of ECM in facilitating a sustainable artificial carbon cycle. This work provides a comprehensive overview of conventional methane activation mechanisms and delineates the complete pathways of methane conversion in electrolysis contexts. Based on surface/interface chemistry, this work systematically analyzes proposed reaction pathways and corresponding strategies to enhance ECM efficiency towards various target products, including syngas, hydrocarbons, oxygenates, and advanced carbon materials. The discussion also encompasses opportunities and challenges for the ECM process, including insights into ECM pathways, rational electrocatalyst design, establishment of benchmarking protocols, electrolyte engineering, enhancement of CH4conversion rates, and minimization of CO2emission.

Several studies have shown that activation of unfolded protein response and endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress plays a crucial role in severe cerebral ischemia/reperfusion *** occurs within hours after cerebral ischemia,but the relationship between ER stress and autophagy remains *** this study,we established experimental models using oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation in PC12 cells and primary neurons to simulate cerebral ischemia/reperfusion *** found that prolongation of oxygen-glucose deprivation activated the ER stress pathway protein kinase-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase(PERK)/eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 subunit alpha(e IF2α)-activating transcription factor 4(ATF4)-C/EBP homologous protein(CHOP),increased neuronal apoptosis,and induced ***,inhibition of ER stress using inhibitors or by si RNA knockdown of the PERK gene significantly attenuated excessive autophagy and neuronal apoptosis,indicating an interaction between autophagy and ER stress and suggesting PERK as an essential target for regulating *** autophagy with chloroquine exacerbated ER stress-induced apoptosis,indicating that normal levels of autophagy play a protective role in neuronal injury following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion *** from this study indicate that cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury can trigger neuronal ER stress and promote autophagy,and suggest that PERK is a possible target for inhibiting excessive autophagy in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.

The selective nucleoside synthesis through direct condensation between nucleobase and unactivated sugar in aqueous media has long been a formidable obstacle for the early chemical transformations hypothesized to construct the RNAWorld, due to product complexity and the low selectivity of the desired isomer. The preference of β-furanoside, the extant RNA component, has never been documented. Here we report an aqueous ribosylation mediated by divalent transition-metal ions, which unprecedentedly enhances the selectivity of furanosyl ribonucleosides as opposed to the traditionally predominating pyranosyl ones, with the furanoside/pyranoside ratio reaching up to 9/1. Furthermore, β-furanoside stands out for the first time as the most prevalent isomer in the presence of zinc and ammonium salts. The mechanism of this selectivity is elucidated with density functional theory calculations. The selectivity for β-furanoside can be further elevated via the adsorption on a zinc mineral. These findings exhibit as the first example that the selection of nucleosides with the desired, canonical configuration might be completed in the early stage of the RNA-forming process as opposed to later evolution, promoted by simple and widespread transition-metal minerals. The study may also find its value in synthetic chemistry as a guideline for developing a sustainable and selective glycosylation process.

Alzheimer's disease is an age-related neurodegenerative disorder with a complex and incompletely understood pathogenesis. Despite extensive research, a cure for Alzheimer's disease has not yet been found. Oxidative stress mediates excessive oxidative responses, and its involvement in Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis as a primary or secondary pathological event is widely accepted. As a member of the selenium-containing antioxidant enzyme family, glutathione peroxidase 4 reduces esterified phospholipid hydroperoxides to maintain cellular redox homeostasis. With the discovery of ferroptosis, the central role of glutathione peroxidase 4 in anti-lipid peroxidation in several diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, has received widespread attention. Increasing evidence suggests that glutathione peroxidase 4 expression is inhibited in the Alzheimer's disease brain, resulting in oxidative stress, inflammation, ferroptosis, and apoptosis, which are closely associated with pathological damage in Alzheimer's disease. Several therapeutic approaches, such as small molecule drugs, natural plant products, and non-pharmacological treatments, ameliorate pathological damage and cognitive function in Alzheimer's disease by promoting glutathione peroxidase 4 expression and enhancing glutathione peroxidase 4 activity. Therefore, glutathione peroxidase 4 upregulation may be a promising strategy for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. This review provides an overview of the gene structure, biological functions, and regulatory mechanisms of glutathione peroxidase 4, a discussion on the important role of glutathione peroxidase 4 in pathological events closely related to Alzheimer's disease, and a summary of the advances in small-molecule drugs, natural plant products, and non-pharmacological therapies targeting glutathione peroxidase 4 for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
