Effects of initial velocity on the sinking of ilmenite-bearing cumulates in the early lunar mantle:Insight from the theory of Rayleigh-Taylor instability

The early lunar mantle overturn,associated with the sinking of the dense ilmenite-bearing cumulate(IBC)crystallized at the shallow lunar mantle,provides satisfactory explanations for the origination of high-Ti basalt,the abnormally strong magnetic field between~3.9 and~3.6 Ga and the low-viscosity zone in the deep lunar mantle,but still poses a debate regarding the initial state of IBC in the early lunar *** the sinking of IBC initiated before the end of lunar magma ocean crystallization,the solidified IBC can acquire a greater thickness and a higher initial velocity at the IBC-mantle *** variation of initial velocity can affect the strain rate of IBC and,correspondingly,the dislocation creep components at the shallow lunar *** this work,we analyze the effects of initial velocity on the dynamics of early lunar mantle by using the theory of Rayleigh-Taylor *** couple the effects of diffusion creep and dislocation creep for all major minerals in the lunar mantle,we exploit an improved Minimized Power Geometric(IMPG)model and isostress mixing model to characterize the upper limit and lower limit for the viscosity of the lunar mantle comprising four major minerals,***,orthopyroxene,clinopyroxene and *** modeling results suggest that a high initial velocity,in any case,can shorten the onset time,tending to promote the early lunar mantle overturn even in a rheologically-strong lunar *** effect of initial velocity on the overturn wavelength shows a strong dependence on the rheological mixing *** the isostress mixing model,the increase of initial velocity tends to elongate the overturn *** the IMPG mixing model,the overturn wavelength is insensitive to the variation of initial *** the actual lunar mantle rheology sandwiches between the rheologies predicted by isostress mixing model and IMPG model,it can be anticipated that the increase of initial velocity tends to elongate the overturn waveleng

Wind Environment Analysis of Ground-based Optical Observatory

The telescopes and the infrastructures may alter the local wind environment around the observatory and further affect the observing *** the completion of site testing,it is necessary to analyze the wind environment of the entire site and plan the telescope layout to make use of the excellent conditions scientifically and *** a typical observatory as an example,the effect of topographical features on the wind environment and the mutual interference between telescope enclosures are analyzed by using the Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)*** CFD simulations are compared with the seeing data from the Differential Image Motion Monitor,and the results are in good agreement,which verifies the effectiveness of the CFD *** results of wind environment analysis can provide reasonable suggestions for site layout and construction,reducing the interference effects and improving the observing environment.

The generation of various β-chiral sulfones bearing chiral cyclic sulfinamides through photoredox-catalyzed sulfur dioxide insertion with asymmetric radical cyclization is described. This method features a broad substrate scope and excellent stereospecificity. Computational studies reveal that the dispersion interaction between sulfinyl group and CH2SO2Ph group plays a crucial role in the stereoselectivity control.

High-performance hybrid nanogenerator for selfpowered wireless multi-sensing microsystems

Wireless sensor network nodes are widely used in wearable devices,consumer electronics,and industrial electronics and are a crucial component of the Internet of Things(IoT).Recently,advanced power technology with sustainable energy supply and pollution-free characteristics has become a popular research ***,to realize an unattended and reliable power supply unit suitable for distributed IoT systems,we develop a high-performance triboelectricelectromagnetic hybrid nanogenerator(TEHNG)to harvest mechanical *** TEHNG achieves a high load power of 21.8 mW by implementing improvements of material optimization,configuration optimization and pyramid microstructure *** realize a self-powered integrated microsystem,a power management module,energy storage module,sensing signal processing module,and microcontroller unit are integrated into the ***,an all-in-one wireless multisensing microsystem comprising the TEHNG,the abovementioned integrated functional circuit and three sensors(temperature,pressure,and ultraviolet)is *** milliwatt microsystem operates continuously with the TEHNG as the only power supply,achieving self-powered operations of sensing environmental variables and transmitting wireless data to a terminal in real *** shows tremendous application potential in the IoT field.

Increased excitatory amino acid transporter 2 levels in basolateral amygdala astrocytes mediate chronic stress–induced anxiety-like behavior

The conventional perception of astrocytes as mere supportive cells within the brain has recently been called into question by empirical evidence, which has revealed their active involvement in regulating brain function and encoding behaviors associated with ***, astrocytes in the basolateral amygdala have been found to play a role in the modulation of anxiety-like behaviors triggered by chronic stress. Nevertheless, the precise molecular mechanisms by which basolateral amygdala astrocytes regulate chronic stress–induced anxiety-like behaviors remain to be fully elucidated. In this study, we found that in a mouse model of anxiety triggered by unpredictable chronic mild stress, the expression of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 was upregulated in the basolateral amygdala. Interestingly, our findings indicate that the targeted knockdown of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 specifically within the basolateral amygdala astrocytes was able to rescue the anxiety-like behavior in mice subjected to stress. Furthermore, we found that the overexpression of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 in the basolateral amygdala, whether achieved through intracranial administration of excitatory amino acid transporter 2agonists or through injection of excitatory amino acid transporter 2-overexpressing viruses with GfaABC1D promoters, evoked anxiety-like behavior in mice. Our single-nucleus RNA sequencing analysis further confirmed that chronic stress induced an upregulation of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 specifically in astrocytes in the basolateral amygdala. Moreover, through in vivo calcium signal recordings, we found that the frequency of calcium activity in the basolateral amygdala of mice subjected to chronic stress was higher compared with normal *** knocking down the expression of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 in the basolateral amygdala, the frequency of calcium activity was not significantly increased, and anxiety-like behavior was ob

Chronic Food Antigen-specific IgG-mediated Hypersensitivity Reaction as A Risk Factor for Adolescent Depressive Disorder

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is the most common nonfatal disease burden world-wide. Systemic chronic low-grade inflammation has been reported to be associated with MDD pro-gression by affecting monoaminergic and glutamatergic neurotransmission. However,whether various proinflammatory cytokines are abnormally elevated before the first episode of depression is still largely unclear. Here,we evaluated 184 adolescent patients who were experiencing their first episode of depressive disorder,and the same number of healthy individuals was included as con-trols. We tested the serum levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),IgE,14 different types of food antigen-specific IgG,histamine,homocysteine,S100 calcium-binding protein B,and diamine oxidase. We were not able to find any significant dif-ferences in the serum levels of hs-CRP or TNF-αbetween the two groups. However,the histamine level of the patients (12.35μM) was significantly higher than that of the controls (9.73μM,Prance with elevated levels of serum histamine,leading to hyperpermeability of the blood–brain barrier,which has previously been implicated in the pathogen-esis of MDD. Hence,prolonged high levels of serum histamine could be a risk factor for depressive disorders,and antihistamine release might represent a novel therapeutic strategy for depression treatment.

Merging bound states in the continuum in an open acoustic resonator

Bound states in the continuum （BICs） are perfectly localized resonances despite embedding in the continuum ***,an isolated BIC is very sensitive to the structure ***,we report merging acoustic BICs in a single open resonator,robust against the structure *** find that both symmetry-protected BIC and Friedrich-Wintgen BIC are sustained in a single coupled waveguide-resonator *** varying the height and length of the resonator,these two BICs move toward each other and merge into a single one at a critical *** to an individual BIC,the merged BIC is robust against fabrication error because its Q-factor is proportional to ΔL-4,whereΔL embodies the structure *** essence of this extraordinary phenomenon is perfectly explained by the two-and three-level approximations of the effective nonHermitian ***,we present direct experimental demonstrations of the moving and merging of BICs in a coupled 3D waveguide-resonator,which are evidenced by the vanishing of the linewidth of Fano resonance in the transmission *** results may find exciting applications in designing high-quality acoustic sources,sensors and filters.
