As the saying goes,spring always comes after winter.Cold winter has been driven away by vibrant spring in the past three months.Meanwhile,Wuhan where I live,like a patient,has just recovered from a dangerous illness,and has managed to achieve major phased results in the fight against COVID-19.Today,Wuhan will be re-opened,and over ten million heroic people here will work hard for the rebirth of this great city.

Hepatic resection represents the first-line treatment for patients with resectable hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).However,the 5-year recurrence rates of HCC after surgery have been reported to range from 50%to 70%.In this review,we evaluated the available evidence for the efficiency of adjuvant treatments to prevent HCC recurrence after curative liver resection.Antiviral therapy has potential advantages in terms of reducing the recurrence rate and improving the overall survival(OS)and/or disease-free survival of patients with hepatitisrelated HCC.Postoperative adjuvant transarterial chemoembolization can significantly reduce the intrahepatic recurrence rate and improve OS,especially for patients with a high risk of recurrence.The efficacy of molecular targeted drugs as an adjuvant therapy deserves further study.Adjuvant adoptive immunotherapy can significantly improve the clinical prognosis in the early stage.Randomized controlled trial(RCT)studies evaluating adjuvant immune checkpoint inhibitors are ongoing,and the results are highly expected.Adjuvant hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy might be beneficial in patients with vascular invasion.Huaier granule,a traditional Chinese medicine,has been proved to be effective in prolonging the recurrence-free survival and reducing extrahepatic recurrence.The efficiency of other adjuvant treatments needs to be further confirmed by large RCT studies.

Postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) is the most common and critical complication after pancreatic body and tail resection.How to effectively reduce the occurrence of pancreatic fistula and conduct timely treatment thereafter is an urgent clinical issue to be solved.Recent research standardized the definition of pancreatic fistula and stressed the correlation between POPF classification and patient prognosis.According to the literature,identification of the risk factors for pancreatic fistula contributed to lowering the rate of the complication.Appropriate management of the pancreatic stump and perioperative treatment are of great significance to reduce the rate of POPF in clinical practice.After the occurrence of POPF,the treatment of choice should be determined according to the classification of the pancreatic fistula.However,despite the progress and promising treatment approaches,POPF remains to be a clinical issue that warrants further studies in the future.

KeJia is a domestic service robot, consisting of a mobile base, an arm, two cameras, and a set of software components for perception, manipulation, natural language understanding, motion and task planning, and decision making. With on-line running of these functions, a robot can adapt to dynamic environments which may have unexpected changes. In this paper, we propose a novel hierarchical method which combines motion planning with a neural network, so that the robot can tolerate errors from sensors, wear of parts, and human disturbances during motion execution. We evaluate our work on KeJia that cooks popcorn using a microwave oven, where humans try to disturb KeJia during the operation.

To the Editor: Research result of CULPRIT-SHOCK trial[1] presented at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) 2017 conference suggested that acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients with multivessel disease (MVD) and cardiogenic shock undergoing primary percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) treated with culprit-only revascularization (COR) strategy had lower mortality at one month compared with immediate complete revascularization in single procedure (CRS) strategy, which challenge current guidelines and years of consensus[2-5].

With variation of drainage basin environments, desorption of soluble matter has become one of the significant erosion processes in rivers. It has a considerable impact on flow and sediment transport, as well as processes of river bed deformation and landform evolution throughout a watershed. In this study, considering influences on sediment movement, especially on cohesive sediment transport, Ca^2＋ and H^＋ were chosen as characteristic ions of soluble matter, and the total desorption quantity of Ca^2＋ and pH value when the desorption equilibrium is reached were employed as two indexes representing the desorption of soluble matter. By means of an indoor experiment, desorption of soluble matter as influenced by cations in static water was investigated. The results show that the total desorption quantity of soluble matter increases with the initial cation concentration until a maximum desorption quantity value is obtained and maintained. The total desorption quantity of soluble matter depends on properties of the specific cations in static water, and the stronger the affinity is between the cation and sediment surface, the higher the total desorption quantity will be. Finally, a strong approximate linear relationship between desorption quantities for different kinds of soluble matters was obtained, which means that variation of pH values can accurately reflect the desorption results of soluble matter.

DEAR EDITOR,Guigarra cailaoensis sp.nov.,a new genus and species of Labeoninae,was collected from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,China.It differs from all other genera within Labeoninae by a unique combination of the following characters:(1)rostral cap smooth with posterior margin slightly serrated;(2)upper lip well developed and covering most of upper jaw;(3)gular disc present with crescentic torus.

Objective To describe the global profiles of acetylated proteins in the brains of scrapie agents 139Aand ME7-infected mice collected at mid-early,mid-late,and terminal stages.Methods The acetylated proteins from the cortex regions of scrapie agent(139A-and ME7)-infected mice collected at mid-early(80 days postinfection,dpi),mid-late(120 dpi),and terminal(180 dpi) stages were extracted,and the global profiles of brain acetylated proteins were assayed with proteomic mass spectrometry.The proteins in the infected mice showing 1.5-fold higher or lower levels than that of agematched normal controls were considered as differentially expressed acetylated peptides(DEAPs).Results A total of 118,42,and 51 DEAPs were found in the brains of 139A-80,139A-120,and 139A-180dpi mice,respectively.Meanwhile,390,227,and 75 DEAPs were detected in the brains of ME7-80,ME7-120,and ME7-180 dpi mice,respectively.The overwhelming majority of DEAPs in the mid-early stage were down-regulated,and more portions of DEAPs in the mid-late and late stages were up-regulated.Approximately 22.1%(328/1,485) of acetylated peptides mapped to 74 different proteins were mitochondrial associated.Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway analysis identified 39(80dpi),13(120 dpi),and 10(180 dpi) significantly changed pathways in 139A-infected mice.Meanwhile,55,25,and 18 significantly changed pathways were observed in the 80,120,and 180 dpi samples of139A-and ME7-infected mice(P < 0.05),respectively.Six pathways were commonly involved in all tested samples.Moreover,many steps in the citrate cycle(tricarboxylic acid cycle) were affected,represented by down-regulated acetylation for relevant enzymes in the mid-early stage and upregulated acetylation in the mid-late and late stages.Conclusion Our data here illustrated the changes in the global profiles for brain acetylated proteins during prion infection,showing remarkably inhibited acetylation in the early stage and relatively enhanced acetylation in the late stage.

Background： Aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 （ALDH2） is involved in the pathophysiological processes of cardiovascular diseases. Recent studies showed that mutant ALDH2 could increase oxidative stress and is a susceptible factor for hypertension. In addition, wild-type ALDH2 could improve the endothelial functions, therefore reducing the risk of developing atherosclerosis. The aim of the present study was to explore the frequency of the Glu504Lys polymorphism of the ALDH2 gene and its relation to carotid intima-media thickness （CIMT） in a group of patients with essential hypertension （EH） and to investigate the association between the Glu504Lys polymorphism and CIMT in Chinese Han patients with EH. Methods： In this study, 410 Chinese Han patients with EH who received physical examinations at the People＇s Hospital of Sichuan Province （China） were selected. DNA microarray chip was used for the genotyping of the Glu504Lys polymorphism of the ALDH2 gene. The differences in CIMT among patients with different Glu504Lys ALDH2 genotypes were analyzed. Results： The mean CIMT of the patients carrying AA/AG and GG genotypes was 1.02 ± 0.31 mm and 0.78 ±0.28 mm, respectively. One-way ANOVA showed that the CIMT of the patients carrying the AA/AG genotype was significantly higher than in the ones carrying the GG genotype （P 〈 0.001）. Multivariate logistic regression showed that the Glu504Lys AA/AG genotype of the ALDH2 gene was one of the major factors influencing the CIMT in patients with EH （odds ratio = 3.73 l, 95% confidence interval = 1.589-8.124, P = 0.001）. Conclusions： The Glu504Lys polymorphism of the ALDH2 gene is associated with the CIMT of Chinese Han patients with EH in Sichuan, China.
