Retrofitting low-performance units to abate sewer overflow pollution based on mathematical model and Sobol algorithm

Optimal retrofit of low-performance units(LPUs)is promising to abate overflow pollutant mass loading of sewer systems during *** study presents a combination of mathematical model and Sobol algorithm to help identify LPUs of sewer systems and design retrofitting ***,the solution to minimize the overflow pollutant mass loading from sewers systems can be efficiently *** developed method was demonstrated at a catchment served by one wastewater treatment plant in the Chaohu City,Anhui Province of China,with five pumping stations and a total sewer length of 58.3 *** the catchment,there are three rivers and a small lake to receive overflows from the sewer *** them,one river that was mostly polluted was selected as the object of overflow pollution abatement during wet weather *** identifying the LPUs of the sewer system and developing retrofitting strategies using Sobol sequence,the mitigation of overflow pollution during wet weather period was *** show that the mass loading of chemical oxygen demand(COD)discharged into the target river could be reduced by 40.6%,by implementing optimal retrofit strategy of LPUs,i.e.,increasing the conveyance capacities of two pumping stations by 2.5–3.2 times and augmenting the diameters of 12 sewers by 1.25–1.29 *** further coordinate the abatement of overflow pollution and retrofit investment,Sobol sensitivity analysis was conducted to screen the dominant LPUs to update the optimal retrofit *** applying the updated strategy,the overflow COD mass loading per overflow event was close to that of non-updated strategy,while the retrofitting length of sewers was reduced by 40%.Therefore,on the basis of the presented method,decision-makers can flexibly develop retrofitting strategies of sewer system to abate overflow pollution during wet weathers in a cost-effective way.

MIMO Channel Measurement and Characterization at 6.0-6.4 GHz Under Typical Classroom Environment

An extensive 4 x 4 MIMO channel measurement is carried out at 6. 0-6. 4 GHz under a typical classroom environment with channel sounder based on vector network analyzer. Both LOS and NLOS scenarios are considered. The results on path loss, delay spread and spatial correlation are presented. The measurement shows that, for corridor coverage, 2x2 MIMO is more economical than 4x4 MIMO due to high correlation. In order to identify the unique characteristics at the high frequency band, the measured channel parameters at 6. 0-6.4 GHz are compared with those at 2. 45 GHz. The comparison shows that the shortened wavelength of this higher frequency band results in a great difference of channel characteristics. Therefore, our measurement results provide new gnidance for the design and development of the system working on 6. 0-6.4 GHz band.

Nonlocal coherence harvesting from quantum vacuum

It is well known that nonlocal coherence reflects nonclassical correlations better than quantum entanglement. Here, we analyze nonlocal coherence harvesting from the quantum vacuum to particle detectors adiabatically interacting with a quantum scalar field in minkowski *** find that the harvesting-achievable separation range of nonlocal coherence is larger than that of quantum entanglement. As the energy gap grows sufficiently large, the detectors harvest less quantum coherence, while the detectors could extract more quantum entanglement from the vacuum state. Compared with the linear configuration and the scalene configuration, we should choose the model of equilateral triangle configuration to harvest tripartite coherence from the vacuum. Finally, we find a monogamous relationship, which means that tripartite l_(1)-norm of coherence is essentially bipartite types.

Eigenvalue Modeling and Cross-Correlation Analysis for 6. 0- 6. 4 GHz MIMO Channel

In Multiple-Input Multiple-Output( MIMO) system, the number of positive channel matrix eigenvalues is directly related to system performance. In order to characterize and model channel matrix eigenvalues,channel measurements at 6. 0- 6. 4GHz by using 4 × 4 MIMO structure were conducted in a typical classroom environment. Based on measured data, the eigenvalues were modeled as Log-Normal distributed random variables and parameterized. Furthermore, Cross-Correlation( CC) coefficients of eigenvalues were estimated. The measurement results show that,under both Light-Of-Sight( LOS) and NonLight-Of-Sight( NLOS) scenarios,eigenvalues are highly de-correlated so that CC can be ignored for eigenvalue model.

Effects of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists on glucose excursion and inflammation in overweight or obese type 2 diabetic patients

BACKGROUND Currently,the lack of comparative studies between weekly and daily formulations of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists(GLP-1RAs)for glucose excursion is worth *** To investigate the effects of weekly and daily formulations of GLP-1RA on glucose excursion and inflammation in overweight and obese patients with type 2 *** Seventy patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were treated at our hospital between January 2019 and January 2022 were enrolled in this retrospective *** patients were treated with *** evaluated changes in blood glucose levels and a series of important indicators in patients before and after treatment with either a weekly or daily preparation of GLP-1RA(group A;n=33 and group B;n=37).RESULTS The degree of decrease in the levels of fasting blood glucose,mean blood glucose,mean amplitude of glycemic excursions,total cholesterol,triglycerides,tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-6,and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein after treatment in group A was higher than that in group B(P0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was significantly lower in group A than in group B(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The effect of the weekly preparation of GLP-1RA in controlling blood glucose levels in the patients,suppressing inflammation,and reducing adverse reactions was significantly higher than that of the daily preparations,which is worthy of clinical promotion.

How to optimize and regulate the distribution of phosphoric acid in matrix,and pursuing the improved electrochemical performance and service lifetime of high temperature proton exchange membrane （HT-PEMs） fuel cell are significant ***,bifunctional poly （p-terphenyl-co-isatin piperidinium） copolymer with tethered phosphonic acid （t-PA） and intrinsic tertiary amine base groups are firstly prepared and investigated as *** distinctive architecture of the copolymer provides a well-designed platform for rapid proton *** not only transports through the hydrogen bond network formed by the adsorbed free phosphoric acid （f-PA）anchored by the tertiary amine base groups,but also rely upon the proton channel constructed by the ionic cluster formed by the t-PA *** the design of the structure,the bifunctional copolymers with lower PA uptake level （minent proton conductivities and peak power densities (99 mS cm-1,812 mW cm-2at 160℃),along with lower PA leaching and higher voltage stability,which is a top leading result in disclosed *** results demonstrate that the design of intermolecular acid-base-pairs can improve the proton conductivity without sacrificing the intrinsic chemical stability or mechanical property of the thin membrane,realizing win-win demands between the mechanical robustness and electrochemical properties of HT-PEMs.

Oxygen-assisted zinc recovery from electric arc furnace dust using magnesium chloride

Electric arc furnace(EAF)dust is an important secondary resource containing metals,such as zinc(Zn)and iron(Fe).Recover-ing Zn from EAF dust can contribute to resource recycling and reduce environmental ***,the high chemical stability of ZnFe_(2)O_(4)in EAF dust poses challenges to Zn *** address this issue,a facile approach that involves oxygen-assisted chlorination using molten MgCl_(2)is *** work focused on elucidating the role of O2 in the reaction between ZnFe_(2)O_(4)and molten MgCl_(2).The results demonstrate that MgCl_(2)effectively broke down the ZnFe_(2)O_(4)structure,and the high O2 atmosphere considerably promoted the sep-aration of Zn from other components in the form of ZnCl_(2).The presence of O2 facilitated the formation of MgFe_(2)O_(4),which stabilized Fe and prevented its ***,the excessive use of MgCl_(2)resulted in increased evaporation loss,and high temperatures pro-moted the rapid separation of *** on these findings,we successfully extracted ZnCl_(2)-enriched volatiles from practical EAF dust through oxygen-assisted *** optimized conditions,this method achieved exceptional Zn chlorination percentage of over 97%within a short period,while Fe chlorination remained below 1%.The resulting volatiles contained 85wt%of ZnCl_(2),which can be further processed to produce metallic *** findings offer guidance for the selective recovery of valuable metals,particularly from solid wastes such as EAF dust.

Prediction of suitable water content in granulation of sintering mixture based on Litster's model

Effect of Acupuncture on Endometrial Blood Flow in Women Undergoing in vitro Fertilization Embryo Transfer: A Single Blind, Randomized Controlled Trial

Objective: To evaluate the effect of manual acupuncture on endometrial blood flow parameters by three-dimensional(3D) power Doppler ultrasound in women undergoing in vitro fertilization embryo transfer(IVF-ET). Methods: Seventy patients undergoing IVF-ET were equally randomized into traditional or sham acupuncture treatment group for totally 4 days(from the day of oocyte aspiration to the day of embryo transfer) of treatment by random envelope method at the Reproductive Medicine Center and Outpatient Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medicine College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2013 to December 2015. Patients in the traditional acupuncture group accepted traditional acupuncture methods with manual acupuncture, and Zhongji(CV3), Qihai(CV 6), Sanyinjiao(SP6), Taichong(LR 3), Tianshu(ST 25), Guilai(ST 29) and Zusanli(ST 36) were chosen. Patients at the sham acupuncture group accepted shallow acupuncture methods at 4 non-meridian points at each shoulder and upper arm. Outcome measures included endometrial ultrasonic indices such as vascularization index(VI), flow index(FI) and vascularization flow index(VFI), endometrial thickness and volume, subendometrial VI(sVI), subendometrial FI(sFI), subendometrial VFI(sVFI), implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, abortion rate, live birth rate and number of live births. Results: Finally, 34 patients in the traditional acupuncture group and 35 in the sham acupuncture group completed this trial. VI, FI and VFI of the traditional acupuncture group were significantly higher than those in the sham acupuncture group(P0.05).
