V0405 Dra:A New Deep and Low Mass Ratio Contact Binary with Extremely Fast Decrease in the Orbital Period

V0405 Dra is a W UMa-type binary *** on the TESS data,we have conducted an orbital period study and performed a light curve analysis for the *** orbital period study reveals that the O-C curve for V0405 Dra exhibits secular decrease at an extremely high rate of d P/dt=-2.71×10^(-6)day year^(-1),along with periodic variations characterized by an amplitude of A_(3)=0.0032 day and a period of P_(3)=1.413 *** orbital periodic change is possibly due to the light-travel time effect resulting from an additional third body in the system,for which we estimate a minimum mass of M_(3)=0.77M_(⊙).By employing the 2013 version of the Wilson-Devinney(W-D)method to synthesize a light curve,we derived photometric solutions indicating that V0405 Dra is a new deep(f=68.7%)and low-mass ratio(q=0.175)contact *** fast decrease in its orbital period is likely caused by mass transfer from the more massive primary star to the less massive secondary star,or due to angular momentum *** further mass transfer and loss of angular momentum,the binary will gradually evolve into a tighter contact configuration,eventually leading to a merger into a single star,following the evolutionary paths suggested for such deep and low mass ratio contact binaries.

Investigation of the shortest period Am type eclipsing binary TYC 6408–989–1

The first BV bands photometric observations and the low-resolution spectrum of the shortest period Am type eclipsing binary TYC 6408-989-1 have been *** stellar atmospheric parameters of the primary star were obtained through the spectral fitting as follows:Teff=6990±117 K,log g=4.25±0.26 cm s^(-2),[Fe/H]=-0.45±0.03 *** original spectra obtained by European Southern Observatory(ESO)were processed with an IRAF package by *** on the ESO blue-violet spectra,TYC 6408-989-1 was concluded as a marginal Am(Am:)star with a spectral type of kA3 hF1 mA5Ⅳ-Ⅴidentified through the MKCLASS *** observed light curves were analyzed through the WilsonDevinney *** final photometric solutions show that TYC 6408-989-1 is a marginal contact binary with a low mass ratio(q=0.27).The temperature of the secondary component derived through the light curve analysis is significantly higher than main sequence *** addition,TYC 6408-989-1 is a poor thermal contact *** temperature differences between the two components is about 1800 ***6408-989-1 should be located in the oscillation stage predicted by the thermal relaxation oscillations theory(TRO)and will evolve into the shallow contact stage *** very short period(less than one day),marginal Am peculiarity and quite large rotational velocity(v sin i■160 km s^(-1))make TYC 6408-989-1 become a challenge to the cut-off of rotation velocities and periods of Am *** have collected the well known eclipsing Am binaries with absolute parameters from the literature.

Adsorption properties of Ⅴ(Ⅳ) on resin-activated carbon composite electrodes in capacitive deionization

Composite electrodes prepared by cation exchange resins and activated carbon(AC)were used to adsorb Ⅴ(Ⅳ)in capacitive deionization(CDI).The electrode made of middle resin size(D860/AC M)had the largest specific surface area and mesoporous content than two other composite *** analysis showed that D860/AC M presents higher specific capacitance and electrical double layer capacitor than the others,and significantly lower internal diffusion ***,D860/AC M exhibits the highest adsorption capacity and rate of Ⅴ(Ⅳ)among three *** intra-particle diffusion model fits well in the initial adsorption stage,while the liquid film diffusion model is more suitable for fitting at the later *** pseudo-second-order kinetic model is suited for the entire adsorption *** adsorption of Ⅴ(Ⅳ)on the composite electrode follows that of the Freundlich *** analysis indicates that the adsorption of Ⅴ(Ⅳ)is an exothermic process with entropy reduction,and the electric field force plays a dominant role in the CDI *** work aims to improve our understanding of the ion adsorption behaviors and mechanisms on the composite electrodes in CDI.

Photometric investigation of the eclipsing binary TX Herculis observed by LUT

The lander of China’s Chang’E-3 spacecraft is equipped with a 15-cm telescope that is very useful for monitoring celestial objects in the ultraviolet(UV) band(245–340 nm).The Lunar-based Ultraviolet Telescope(LUT) is the first long-term lunar-based astronomical observatory,that can make uninterrupted observations of a target from the *** we present the continuous complete UV light curve of the eclipsing binary TX Herculis(TX Her).The analysis of the light curve suggests that TX Her is a detached *** dip in the light curve was explained by the emergence of a stellar dark spot on the less massive F0 type *** cyclic change of arrival eclipse times for the system reveals that it contains an additional stellar companion with a minimal mass of 0.35 M⊙ and a period of 48.92 yr,which is supported by the detected light contribution of the third body from light curve *** third body may play an important role in the formation of the present short-period system TX Her.

Period investigation of Algol systems TZ Eri and TU Her

TZ Eri and TU Her are both classic Algol-type systems(Algols). By observing and collecting times of minimum light, we constructed the O-C curves for the two systems. The long-time upward and downward parabolas shown in these diagrams are considered to be the result of the combination of mass transfer and angular momentum loss. The secular orbital period change rates are d P/dt = 4.74(±0.12) ×10-7 d yr-1 and d P/dt =-2.33(±0.01) × 10-6 d yr-1, respectively. There are also cyclic variations in their O-C curves which might be caused by the light-travel time effect(LTTE). A circumbinary star may exist in the TZ Eri system with a mass of at least 1.34 M⊙, while there are possibly two celestial bodies that almost follow a 2 : 1 resonance orbit around the TU Her binary pair. Their masses are at least 2.43 M⊙and 1.27 M⊙.

Multi-color light curves and orbital period research of eclipsing binary V1073 Cyg

New multi-color BVRcIc photometric observations are presented for the W UMa type eclips- ing binary V1073 Cyg. The multi-color light curve analysis with the Wilson-Devinney procedure yielded the absolute parameters of this system, showing that V 1073 Cyg is a shallow contact binary system with a fill-out factor f = 0.124（±0.011）. We collected all available times of light minima spanning 119yr, including CCD data to construct the O - C curve, and performed detailed O - C analysis. The O - C diagram shows that the period change is complex. A long-term continuous decrease and a cyclic vari- ation exist. The period is decreasing at a rate ofP = -1.04（±0.18） × 10-10 d cycle-land, with the period decrease, V1073 Cyg will evolve to the deep contact stage. The cyclic variation with a period of P3 = 82.7（±3.6） yr and an amplitude of A = 0.028（±0.002） d may be explained by magnetic activ- ity of one or both components or the light travel time effect caused by a distant third companion with M3（i1 = 90°） = 0.511 M⊙.

Phonon lasers or coherent amplifications of mechanical oscillations are powerful tools for fundamental studies on coherent acoustics and hold potential for diverse applications,ranging from ultrasensitive force sensing to phononic information ***,we propose the use of an optomechanical resonator coupled to a nonlinear optical resonator for directional phonon *** find that by pumping the nonlinear optical resonator,directional optical squeezing can occur along the pump *** a result,we can achieve the directional mechanical gain using directional optical squeezing,thereby leading to nonreciprocal phonon lasing with a well-tunable directional power *** work proposes a feasible way to build nonreciprocal phonon lasers with various nonlinear optical media,which are important for a wide range of applications,such as directional acoustic amplifiers,invisible sound sensing or imaging,and one-way phononic networks.

Martensitic transformation pathways and crystallographic orientation relationships in steel

Martensite is one of the most important structures determining the ability to tailor the performance of steel and several other engineering *** previous studies,the face-centered cubic(FCC)to hexag-onal close-packed(HCP)(or body-centered cubic(BCC))martensitic transformation and the FCC to body-centered tetragonal(BCT)(or BCC)martensitic transformation during deformation and quenching were widely investigated;these transformations usually improve the plasticity and strength of steel,*** this work,detailed transmission electron microscopy(TEM)observations and electron diffraction pattern analyses of the BCT and BCC twins are performed along the[110],[131],and[¯153]zone *** transformation of BCT twins into BCC twins along the[131]zone axis is also analyzed through in situ heating during the TEM *** high-resolution TEM observations of mutually perpendicular BCT variants are consistent with the atomic arrangement obtained for the quenching pathway during the martensitic *** addition,different orientation relationships between austenite and marten-site are explained in terms of the atomic migration occurring during the deformation pathway and the quenching pathway of the martensitic transformation.

High-performance sodium storage for cobalt phosphide composite array electrodes

Systematic study of the synthesis of heavy and superheavy nuclei in 48Ca-induced fusion-evaporation reactions

We systematically studied the evaporation residue cross sections of ^(48)Ca-induced reactions on lanthanide and actinide target nuclei under the Dinuclear System(DNS)model framework to check the reliability and applicability of the *** produce new proton-rich Fl and Lv isotopes through hot fusion reactions in the superheavy element region with Z≥104,we utilized the reactions ^(48)Ca+^(236,238,239) Pu and ^(48)Ca+^(242,243,244,250) ***,owing to the detection limit of available equipment(0.1 pb),only 283Fl and 287−289Lv,which have the maximum evaporation residue cross section values of 0.149,0.130,9.522,and 0.309 pb,respectively,can be ***,to produce neutron-deficient isotopes of actinides near the proton drip line with Z=93−100,we attempted to generate the new isotopes(224−227Pu,228−232,237Cm)using the reactions ^(48)Ca+180,182,183 W and ^(48)Ca+^(184,186,187,192) *** maximum evaporation residue cross section values are 0.07,0.06,0.26,and 0.30 nb for the former set of reactions,and 1.96 pb,5.73 pb,12.16 pb,19.39 pb,54.79 pb,and 6.45 nb for the latter,*** results are expected to provide new information for the future synthesis of unknown neutron-deficient isotopes.
