Thermal barrier coatings(TBCs)can effectively protect the alloy substrate of hot components in aeroengines or land-based gas turbines by the thermal insulation and corrosion/erosion resistance of the ceramic top ***,the continuous pursuit of a higher operating temperature leads to degradation,delamination,and premature failure of the top *** new ceramic materials and new coating structures must be developed to meet the demand for future advanced TBC *** this paper,the latest progress of some new ceramic materials is first ***,a comprehensive spalling mechanism of the ceramic top coat is summarized to understand the dependence of lifetime on various factors such as oxidation scale growth,ceramic sintering,erosion,and calcium–magnesium–aluminium–silicate(CMAS)molten salt ***,new structural design methods for high-performance TBCs are discussed from the perspectives of lamellar,columnar,and nanostructure *** latest developments of ceramic top coat will be presented in terms of material selection,structural design,and failure mechanism,and the comprehensive guidance will be provided for the development of next-generation advanced TBCs with higher temperature resistance,better thermal insulation,and longer lifetime.

Excessive rainfall provides a favorable condition for field mold infection of plants, which triggers field mold(FM) stress. If FM stress occurs during the late maturation stage of soybean seed, it negatively affects seed yield and quality. To investigate the responses of soybean seed against FM stress and identify the underlying biochemical pathways involved, a greenhouse was equipped with an artificial rain producing system to allow the induction of mold growth on soybean seed. The induced quality changes and stress responses were revealed on the levels of both transcriptome and metabolome. The results showed that soybean seeds produced under FM stress conditions had an abnormal and inferior appearance, and also contained less storage reserves, such as protein and polysaccharide. Transcriptional analysis demonstrated that genes involved in amino acid metabolism, glycolysis, tricarboxylic acid, β-oxidation of fatty acids, and isoflavone biosynthesis were induced by FM stress. These results were supported by a multiple metabolic analysis which exhibited increases in the concentrations of a variety of amino acids, sugars, organic acids, and isoflavones, as well as reductions of several fatty acids. Reprogramming of these metabolic pathways mobilized and consumed stored protein, sugar and fatty acid reserves in the soybean seed in order to meet the energy and substrate demand on the defense system, but led to deterioration of seed quality. In general, FM stress induced catabolism of storage reserves and diminished the quality of soybean seed in the field. This study provides a more profound insight into seed deterioration caused by FM stress.

Partial oxidation of methane（POM） co-fed with CO_2 to syngas in a novel catalytic BaCo_（0.6）Fe_（0.2）Ta_（0.2）O_（3-δ） oxygen permeable membrane reactor was successfully *** CO_2 to the partial oxidation of methane reaction not only alters the ratio of CO/H_2,but also increases the oxygen permeation flux and CH_4 *** 96%CH_4 conversion with more than 93%CO_2 conversion and 100%CO selectivity is achieved,which shows an excellent reaction performance.A steady oxygen permeation flux of 15 mL/（cm^2 min） is obtained during the 100-h operation,which shows good stability as well.

DNA methyltransferases（Dnmts）comprise a family of proteins which involved in the establishment and maintenance of DNA methylation *** pig,the molecular characterization and tissue expression profile of Dnmt gene family are not *** solve this problem,reverse transcriptase PCR and rapid amplification of c DNA ends were used to clone the sequences of the porcine Dnmt2 and Dnmt3b ***,the m RNA expression profiles of Dnmt1,Dnmt2,Dnmt3a and Dnmt3b genes from 54 adult tissues and 2 entire fetuses of Rongchang pig were analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR（q RT-PCR）.As a result,the lengths of porcine Dnmt2 and Dnmt3b gene c DNAs were 1 227 and 2 559 bp with cytosine-C5specific DNA methylase domain,*** four Dnmt genes were highly expressed in longissimus dorsi muscle（P〈0.01）.Dnmt1 is highly expressed in heart（P〈0.01）and Dnmt 2 shows its preference in liver and seminal vesicle tissue（P〈0.01）.Dnmt3a and Dnmt3b are highly expressed in the two fetus stages（P〈0.01）.All these results suggested that each gene has its specific expression profile,and deeper study is required to dig more details between the methylation level and Dnmt family m RNA expressions in different tissues.

Searching alternative feed antibiotics is always a study hotspot in the field of animal production. In this study, the antipathogenic activities and probiotics stimulatory effects of 30 kinds of herbs were screened through Oxford cup method and Hungate roll method. 15 herbs showed significantly antibacterial activities（P〈0.05） against Escherichia coli, Salmonella enteritidis, Salmonella typhimurium and Staphylococcus aureus. Seven herbs showed greatly stimulatory promoting effects on Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum. Finally, five herbs were combined for the developed formulation with selective antibacterial properties and they were Mume Fructus（35%）, Isatidis Folium（25%）, Moslae Herba（20%）, Chrysanthemi Indici Flos（13%） and Bupleuri Radix（7%）. The herbal formulation showed significantly antibacterial abilities against four pathogens and stimulatory promoting abilities on two probiotics in vitro and the equivalent activities in broiler chickens in vivo against E. coli and L. acidophilus. The toxicity study showed it had no toxicity, which indicated that it would be a kind of preferred candidate for an alternative antibiotic in future animal production.

In this study we report the results of a decade-long breeding program for japonica super rice made by Nanjing Branch of chinese National Center for Rice Improvement in Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences. We concluded that selection of parents with good comprehensive traits and complementary advantages and disadvantages of both parents in the hybrid combination, and early selection of high heritability traits in earlier segregating generations could significantly improve the breeding efficiency. The use of closely-linked functional markers in pyramiding of multiple genes could greatly increase breeding efficiency, avoiding time-consuming and laborious steps that were used in traditional breeding program. It is also important to coordinate the yield components with variety characteristics such as yield stability, wide adaptability, lodging resistance, and an attractive grain appearance during late growth stage of rice.

Dear editor,Adults with community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(CA-MRSA)are prone to necrotizing pneumonia,bacteremia,and high *** studies have reported the disease worldwide,but only a few cases of CA-MRSA pneumonia in children and adolescents have been reported in china.[1]No CA-MRSA was detected in the pathogens of community-acquired respiratory tract infections in chinese adults from 2009 to *** the influenza epidemic,such as COVID-19,viral infections are followed by repeated bacterial infections,and methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus(MSSA)and MRSA pneumonia are known complications.[2]Thus,identifying and treating these infections is a tricky clinical issue.A case of CA-MRSA pneumonia with bloodstream infection and pneumothorax was successfully treated in our hospital in January ***,we presented a case report based on previous studies.

The growth periods（GPs, from planting/emergence to reproductive stage 8（R8） of soybean cultivars vary in different ecological regions, especially in china with a very complex soybean cropping system. In this study, a 3-yr experimental study was undertaken in three geographical locations of china from 2008 to 2010, including the Northeast（40.66-45.85°N）, Huang-Huai（34.75-38.04°N） and southern（22.82-30.60°N） eco-regions with about 250 accessions in each region to clarify the classification of maturity group（MG） and identify the cultivars with stable GP to increase the knowledge about the GP distribution of soybean cultivars in china. GPs of soybean cultivars in different eco-regions were significant different with a gradual decrease from 115-125 d in the Northeast part to the 85-100 d in the southern part of china. The geographical location was the major factor for GP of cultivars from the Northeast, while the year of planting was the major factor affecting the stability of GPs in Huang-Huai summer and southern summer soybean. AMMI2（additive main effects and multiplicativeinteraction）-Biplot analysis showed that the GPs of soybean cultivars from the Northeast eco-region have a comparatively satisfactory environmental stability. Moreover, soybean cultivars with moderate GP/MG and stable environment adaptability in different eco-regions were identified based on the linear regression and AMMI analysis, which was important for the accurate classification of soybean MGs in future. Taken together, our results reflected the genetic diversity, geographical distribution and environmental stability of the chinese soybean GP trait. Soybean cultivars with stable GP for various chinese eco-regions would be beneficial for chinese soybean genetic improvement, varietal introduction, exchange, and soybean breeding program for wide adaptability.

Thecoronavirusdisease2019(COVID-19)pandemic continues to pose a global threat to the human population. Identifying animal species susceptible to infection with the SARS-CoV-2/HCoV-19 pathogen is essential for controlling the outbreak and for testing valid prophylactics or therapeutics based on animal model studies. Here,different aged chinese tree shrews(adult group, 1 year old;old group, 5–6 years old), which are close relatives to primates, were infected with SARS-CoV-2. X-ray, viral shedding, laboratory, and histological analyses were performed on different days postinoculation(dpi). Results showed that chinese tree shrews could be infected by SARS-CoV-2. Lung infiltrates were visible in X-ray radiographs in most infected animals. Viral RNA was consistently detected in lung tissues from infected animals at 3,5, and 7 dpi, along with alterations in related parameters from routine blood tests and serum biochemistry, including increased levels of aspartate aminotransferase(AST) and blood urea nitrogen(BUN). Histological analysis of lung tissues from animals at 3 dpi(adult group) and 7 dpi(old group) showed thickened alveolar septa and interstitial hemorrhage. Several differences were found between the two different aged groups in regard to viral shedding peak. Our results indicate that chinese tree shrews have the potential to be used as animal models for SARS-CoV-2 infection.
