Boosting spring runoff into the sea by reservoir regulation and its potential for estuarine fishery recovery

With global surge in reservoir construction over the past decades,river systems worldwide have been profoundly ***,flow manipulation by reservoirs has altered the natural hydrological processes,resulting in extensive modifications of fluvial-marine *** the adverse ecological consequences of reservoirs has become a global concern and has garnered increasing *** Yellow River,as one of the most extensively manipulated river systems globally,has experienced substantial changes in the amount and timing of water discharge due to the presence of numerous reservoirs scattered throughout its catchment *** alterations have caused physicochemical changes in the estuary and subsequent modifications to the estuarine *** recent years,the Yellow River Conservancy Committee initiated the release of water through the xiaolangdi Dam during the major spawning period of fisheries,specifically in the spring,with the aim of improving the estuarine ecological *** 2011 to 2020,a total of 84.05 km^(3)of water was discharged from the xiaolangdi Reservoir during spring seasons,of which 40%(33.16 km^(3))constituted water impounded within the reservoir during preceding ***,the spring water discharge from the Yellow River to the sea increased significantly from 1.50 km^(3)/yr to 3.46 km^(3)/yr in the past decade,leading to a decrease in estuarine salinity by 1.6 *** estuarine fishery resources,such as fish eggs in the Yellow River estuary,have demonstrated evident *** reservoir regulation in the Yellow River,which has successfully enhanced spring water discharge and subsequently restored estuarine fishery resources,presents an effective attempt for mitigating the adverse ecological effects associated with reservoirs.

Serrated flow behavior of GH536 superalloy under different loading rates at room temperature

Serrated flow phenomenon has been widely observed among different metals due to the potential influence on their *** tensile tests of nickel-based superalloy GH536 were carried out at loading rates of 0.06,0.60,3.60,and 36.00 mm·min^(-1)at room temperature,*** tensile stress-strain curves demonstrate repetitive and discontinuous yielding behavior,namely serrated *** is observed that the stress-strain curves were dominated by type B serration,and original annealing twin boundaries(TBs)were distorted to various degrees under comparatively different lower tensile *** contrast,the TBs almost disappear,and the type B serrations become smoother and regular under the higher loading *** phenomenon can be attributed to the interactions between TBs and dislocations during tensile *** effects of the mobile and immobile dislocations illustrate the unsteady amplitude of serrations observed in stress-strain *** electron microscope images of tested pieces reveal the interaction of dislocation and TB,with dislocation tangling around the TBs.

Efficient and selective upcycling of waste polylactic acid into acetate using nickel selenide

The conversion of waste polylactic acid（PLA） plastics into high-value-added chemicals through electrochemical methods is a promising and sustainable ***,developing efficient and highly selective catalysts for lactic acid oxidation reaction（LAOR） and understanding the reaction process are ***,we report the electrooxidation of waste PLA to acetate at a high current density of 100 mA cm-2 with high Faraday efficiency（～95%） and excellent stability（>100 h） over a nickel selenide nanosheet *** addition,a total Faraday efficiency of up to 190% was achieved for carboxylic acids,including acetic acid and formic acid,by coupling with the cathodic CO2reduction *** situ experimental results and theoretical simulations revealed that the catalytic activity center of LAOR was dynamically formed NiOOH species,and the surface-adsorbed SeOxspecies accelerated the formation of Ni3+species,thus promoting catalytic *** mechanism of lactic acid electrooxidation was further *** acid was dehydrogenated to produce pyruvate first and then formed CH3CO due to preferential C-C bond cleavage,resulting in the presence of *** work demonstrated a sustainable method for recycling waste PLA and CO2into high-value-added products.

Predictive value of NLR, Fib4, and APRI in the occurrence of liver failure after hepatectomy in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma

Cisplatin-based miRNA delivery strategy inspired by the circCPNE1/miR-330-3p pathway for oral squamous cell carcinoma

Circular RNAs(circRNAs)are ideal biomarkers of oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)because of their highly stable closed-loop structure,and they can act as microRNA(miRNA)sponges to regulate OSCC *** analyzing clinical samples,we identified circCPNE1,a dysregulated circRNA in OSCC,and its expression level was negatively correlated with the clinical stage of OSCC ***-of-function assays revealed the tumor-suppressive effect of circCPNE1,which was then identified as a miR-330-3p ***-330-3p was recognized as a tumor promoter in multiple studies,consistent with our finding that it could promote the proliferation,migration,and invasion of OSCC *** results indicated that selective inhibition of miR-330-3p could be an effective strategy to inhibit OSCC ***,we designed cationic polylysine-cisplatin prodrugs to deliver antagomiR-330-3p(a miRNA inhibitory analog)via electrostatic interactions to form PP@miR nanoparticles(NPs).Paratumoral administration results revealed that PP@miR NPs effectively inhibited subcutaneous tumor progression and achieved partial tumor elimination(2/5),which confirmed the critical role of miR-330-3p in OSCC *** findings provide a new perspective for the development of OSCC treatments.

Renewable conversion of coal gangue to 13-X molecular sieve for Cd^(2+)-containing wastewater adsorption performance

Using coal gangue(CG)as raw material,a new type of all solid-waste-based 13-X molecular sieve material was controllably prepared by alkali fusion-hydrothermal *** synthetic molecular sieve was used as a solid adsorbent to treat Cd^(2+)-containing wastewater,and its adsorption behavior on Cd^(2+)in aqueous solution was studied and *** microstructure and morphology of the molecular sieve were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM)and specific surface area *** results show that the synthesized 13-X molecular sieve has higher Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET)specific surface area with higher crystallinity and higher adsorption capacity for the heavy metal Cd^(2+).The adsorption process of Cd^(2+)by molecular sieve conforms to the Langmuir isotherm adsorption equation and Lagergren pseudo-second-order rate *** with thermodynamic calculation,it can be concluded that the adsorption process is physically monolayer,spontaneous and *** this study,a low-cost and naturally available synthesis method of 13-X molecular sieve is *** with its adsorption mechanism for Cd^(2+),it provides a feasible and general method for removing heavy metal ions from coal gangue and also provides a new way for the utilization of coal gangue with high added value.
