Objective:Vitiligo is a chronic,acquired depigmentation of the skin,which can be divided into active and stable *** stable and active stages are not immutable and often *** of internal markers would help to diagnose the active stage of vitiligo,and the purpose of this study was to find potential active markers in the progression of ***:We compared 30 healthy controls to 60 patients with vitiligo(30 with active disease and 30 with stable disease)regarding the expression of serum monocyte chemoattractant protein(MCP)-1,chemokine(C-C motif)ligand(CCL)3,CCL5,CCL21,interleukin(IL)-6,and *** were collected from May 2017 to December *** detection was carried out by enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** difference between groups was compared by Kruskal-Wallis H test and Mann-Whitney U ***:We found that the serum levels of MCP-1,CCL3,IL-6,and IL-17 were significantly higher in patients with vitiligo than in healthy controls(P<0.01)and that IL-17 was higher in patients with active vitiligo than in those with stable vitiligo(P<0.01).After 3months of treatment,the serum IL-17 level of patients with active vitiligo was not significantly different from that before treatment(P=0.526);after 6months of treatment,however,the serum IL-17 level had significantly decreased(P<0.01).Conclusion:These findings suggest that the serum IL-17 level can be used as a marker of vitiligo disease activity giving it certain guiding significance for clinical treatment.

Combination of endoscopic submucosal dissection and laparoscopic sentinel lymph node dissection in early mucinous gastric cancer:Role of lymph node metastasis

BACKGROUND Recent evidence showed that combining endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)and laparoscopic sentinel lymph node dissection may avoid unnecessary gastrectomy in treating early mucinous gastric cancer(EMGC)patients with risks of positive lymph node metastasis(pLNM).AIM To explore the predictive factors for pLNM in EMGC,and to optimize the clinical application of combing ESD and sentinel lymph node dissection in a proper subgroup of patients with *** Thirty-one patients with EMGC who had undergone gastrectomy with lymph node dissection were consecutively enrolled from January 1988 to December *** and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to estimate the association between the rates of pLNM and clinicopathological factors,providing odds ratio(OR)with 95%confidence *** the association between the number of predictors and the pLNM rate was also *** Depth of invasion(OR=7.342,1.127-33.256,P=0.039),tumor diameter(OR=9.158,1.348-29.133,P=0.044),and lymphatic vessel involvement(OR=27.749,1.821-33.143,P=0.019)turned out to be significant and might be the independent risk factors for predicating pLNM in the multivariate *** patients with 1,2,and 3 risk factors,the pLNM rates were 9.1%,33.3%,and 75.0%,*** was not detected in seven patients without any of these risk *** ESD might serve as a safe and sufficient treatment for intramucosal EMGC if tumor size≤2 cm,and when lymphatic vessel involvement is absent by postoperative histological *** ESD and sentinel lymph node dissection could be recommended as a safe and effective treatment for EMGC patients with a potential risk of pLNM.

A Self-Healing Elastomer with Extremely High Toughness Achieved by Acylsemicarbazide Hydrogen Bonding and Cu2+-Neocuproine Coordination Interactions

Elastomers with high mechanical toughness can guarantee their durability during service life. Self-healing ability, as well as recyclability, can also extend the life of materials and save the consuming cost of the materials. Many efforts have been dedicated to promoting the mechanical toughness as well as the self-healing capability of elastomers at the same time, while it remains a challenge to balance the trade-off between the above properties in one system. Herein we proposed a molecular design driven by dual interactions of acylsemicarbazide hydrogen bonding and Cu2+-neocuproine coordination simultaneously. By introducing the reversible multiple hydrogen bonds and strong coordination bonds, we successfully fabricated an extremely tough and self-healing elastomer. The elastomer can achieve an impressive top-notch toughness of 491 MJ/m3. Furthermore, it boasted rapid elastic restorability within 10 min and outstanding crack tolerance with high fracture energy（152.6kJ/m2）. Benefiting from the combination of dynamic interactions, the material was able to self-repair under 80 ℃ conveniently and could be reprocessed to restore the exceptional mechanical properties.

Insights into the provenance implication of leaf wax n-alkanes along the lower Yellow River

Serving as one of the largest rivers in terms of both sediment and organic carbon transport fluxes in the world,the Yellow River plays a crucial role in regional biogeochemical process as well as in the global carbon ***,although a large number of studies have been carried out on the flux,composition,source and seasonal variation of total particulate organic carbon in the Yellow River so far,studies on molecular biomarkers at different spatial and temporal scales are still *** this study,we focus on the molecular and hydrogen isotopic properties of leaf wax n-alkanes among different types of samples which obtained from different seasons(flood ***-flood)along the lower Yellow *** molecular distribution of n-alkanes show that the riparian topsoils are subject to inputs from the overlying vegetation,while the suspended sediments from the flood season are characterized by the mixing of soil materials which originate from various stratigraphy with different ages on the Chinese Loess *** to the contrasting hydrodynamic conditions,the n-alkanes in suspended sediments also show distinct molecular composition between flood and non-flood ***,considering the effect of climatic factors,the proportion of monocots in flood-season suspended sediments is calculated from a semi-quantitative perspective using δ^(2)H_(wax).Our findings may bring to light new considerations for the interpretation of leaf wax proxies in studies of organic matter sources of Yellow River.

Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment in highly myopic eyes with implantable collamer lens

AIM:To investigate the clinical characteristics,treatment methods and outcomes of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD)in highly myopic eyes with implantable collamer lens(ICL).METHODS:High myopia patients who received treatment for nontraumatic RRD after ICL implantation surgery at the Retinal Department of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center from Jan 2018 to Dec 2022 were *** ophthalmologic examinations including visual acuity measurement and digital fundus photography were performed in each ***:A total of nine RRD eyes from nine patients who received V4c-ICL implantation were *** mean time from ICL implantation surgery to the diagnosis of RRD was 32.44±22.56mo(range,1-60mo).At the initial visit for RRD,giant retinal tear(GRT),horseshoe tear,simple round hole,and horseshoe tear combined with round hole were detected in 3,3,2,and 1 eye(s),respectively,with maculaoff in *** patients received surgical treatment,and one patient was treated by retinal laser photocoagulation *** ICL was preserved in 7 *** the last followup,the mean best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)improved significantly from 1.76±1.06 logMAR at presentation to 0.81±1.01 logMAR(P=0.035),and no case of recurrent retinal detachment was ***:The morphological presentation of retinal breaks is diverse in this *** ICL can be preserved in most cases during the course of retinal detachment repair surgery in our data,companied with acceptable visual and anatomical outcomes.

Effect of temperature and time on the precipitation ofκ-carbides in Fe-28Mn-10Al-0.8C low-density steels:Aging mechanism and its impact on material properties

In low-density steel,κ-carbides primarily precipitate in the form of nanoscale particles within austenite ***,their precipitation within ferrite matrix grains has not been comprehensively explored,and the second-phase evolution mechanism during aging remains *** this study,the crystallographic characteristics and morphological evolution ofκ-carbides in Fe-28Mn-10Al-0.8C(wt%)low-density steel at different aging temperatures and times and the impacts of these changes on the steels’microhardness and properties were comprehensively *** different heat treatment conditions,intragranularκ-carbides exhibited various morpho-logical and crystallographic characteristics,such as acicular,spherical,and short rod-like *** the initial stage of aging,acicularκ-carbides primarily precipitated,accompanied by a few spherical carbides.κ-Carbides grew and coarsened with aging time,the spherical carbides were considerably reduced,and rod-like carbides *** hardness testing demonstrated that the material’s hardness was affected by the volume fraction,morphology,and size ofκ-*** aging at higher temperatures led to an increase in carbide size and volume fraction,resulting in a gradual rise in *** deformation,the primary mechanisms for strengthening were dislocation strengthening and second-phase *** on these findings,potential strategies for improving material strength are proposed.
