Altered expression of MUC2 and MUC5AC in progression of colorectal carcinoma

AIM:To study the expression profiles of MUC2 and MUC5AC in tumorigenesis of colorectal carcinoma and in its different pathologic ***:Formalin-fixed,paraffin-embedded human colorectal tissue specimens were immunostained with antibodies against MUC2 and *** samples of normal mucosa(NM),12 samples of hyperplastic polyp(HP),15 samples of tubular adenoma with low-grade dysplasia(LGD),14 samples of tubular adenoma with high-grade dysplasia(HGD),26 samples of conventional colorectal adenocarcinoma(CCA),15 samples of mucinous carcinoma(MC),and 8 samples of signetring cell carcinoma(SRCC) were ***:MUC2 was the most widely expressed protein in each study group,although the number of MUC2positive cases was less in CCA group than in other groups(P < 0.05).The staining score for MUC2 was significantly decreased in the HP-LGD-HGD-CCA sequence(r =-0.73436,P < 0.0001).Among the neoplasms,MC and SRCC were more frequently associated with the high expression of MUC2(P < 0.05) than with that of ***5AC expression was detected in all groups but not in NM ***,the staining score for MUC5AC was higher in HP,LGD,HGD,MC and SRCC groups than in NM and CCA groups(P < 0.05).The frequency of simultaneous expression of MUC proteins was significantly higher in MC and SRCC groups than in CCA group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Alterations in MUC expression occur during colorectal *** transformation process in MC and SRCC may be different from that in the traditional adenoma-carcinoma sequence.

Background： Hyperbaric oxygen （HBO） and Ginkgo biloba extract （e.g., EGB 761） were shown to ameliorate cognitive and memory impairment in Alzheimcr＇s disease （AD）. However, the exact mechanism remains elusive. The aim of the present study was to investigate the possible mechanisms of HBO and EGB 761 via the function of nuclear factor kappa-B （NF-κB） pathway. Methods： AD rats were induced by injecting β-amyloid 25-35 into the hippocampus. All animals were divided into six groups： Normal. sham. AD model, HBO （2 atmosphere absolute： 60 min/d）, EGB 761 （20 mg·kg^-1 ·d ^-1）, and HBO/EGB 761 groups. Morris water maze tests were used to assess cognitive, and memory capacities of rats： TdT-mediated dUTP Nick-End Labeling staining and Western blotting were used to analyze apoptosis and NF-κB pathway-related proteins in hippocampus tissues. Results： Morris water maze tests revealed that EGB 761 and HBO significantly improved the cognitive and memory ability of AD rats. In addition, the protective effect of combinational therapy （HBO/EGB 761 ） was superior to either HBO or EGB 761 alone. In line. redticed apoptosis with NF-κB pathway activation was observed in hippocampus neurons treated by HBO and EGB 761. Conclusions： Our results suggested that HBO and EGB 761 improve cognitive and memory capacity in a rat model of AD. The protective effects are associated with the reduced apoptosis with NF-κB pathway activation in hippocampus neurons.

CNN-LSTM based incremental attention mechanism enabled phase-space reconstruction for chaotic time series prediction

To improve the prediction accuracy of chaotic time series and reconstruct a more reasonable phase space structure of the prediction network,we propose a convolutional neural network-long short-term memory(CNN-LSTM)prediction model based on the incremental attention ***,a traversal search is conducted through the traversal layer for finite parameters in the phase ***,an incremental attention layer is utilized for parameter judgment based on the dimension weight criteria(DWC).The phase space parameters that best meet DWC are selected and fed into the input ***,the constructed CNN-LSTM network extracts spatio-temporal features and provides the final prediction *** model is verified using Logistic,Lorenz,and sunspot chaotic time series,and the performance is compared from the two dimensions of prediction accuracy and network phase space ***,the CNN-LSTM network based on incremental attention is compared with long short-term memory(LSTM),convolutional neural network(CNN),recurrent neural network(RNN),and support vector regression(SVR)for prediction *** experiment results indicate that the proposed composite network model possesses enhanced capability in extracting temporal features and achieves higher prediction ***,the algorithm to estimate the phase space parameter is compared with the traditional CAO,false nearest neighbor,and C-C,three typical methods for determining the chaotic phase space *** experiments reveal that the phase space parameter estimation algorithm based on the incremental attention mechanism is superior in prediction accuracy compared with the traditional phase space reconstruction method in five networks,including CNN-LSTM,LSTM,CNN,RNN,and SVR.

Heterogeneous interfaces produced by interdomain interactions on a nanoscale performs a crucial role in boosting the properties of an electrocatalyst toward oxygen evolution reaction(OER)***,a series of dual-phase electrodes with intimately connected heterointerfaces are prepared by in situ decomposing solid solution oxide of Ni_(x)Co_(y)Fe_(100-x-y)O,which grew on Ni foam massively via an ultrafast combustion ***,with high-reaction kinetics caused by the reduction treatment at 450℃,the less electronegative Fe and Co are more oxyphilic than Ni,which facilitated their co-exsolution and formation of CoFe_2O_4/NiO oxide with enriched oxygen *** from the nanoporous framework,heterojunction structure,and oxygen defects,the self-supporting electrodes present rapid charge/mass transmission and provide abundant active sites for *** optimized sample(R-SNCF4.5)shows low overpotentials of 226 and 324 mV at 10 and100 mA·cm^(-2),a small Tafel slope(46.7 mV·dec^(-1)),and excellent *** assembled R-SNCF4.5//Pt/C/NF electrolyzer demonstrates continuous electrolysis over 50 h at a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2),under 1.51 *** functional theory(DFT)calculations verify that the strong electronic modulation plays a critical part in the CoFe_2O_4/NiO hybrid by lowering the energy barriers for the ratedetermining steps,and Fe sites are the most active OER sites.

Constructing oxygen deficiency-rich V_(2)O_(3)@PEDOT cathode for high-performance aqueous zinc-ion batteries

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)have attracted widespread attention due to the advantages of high safety and environmental *** V_(2)O_(3) is a promising cathode,the strong electrostatic interaction between Zn^(2+) and V_(2)O_(3) crystal,and the sluggish reaction kinetics still limit their application in ***,the oxygen defects rich V_(2)O_(3) with conducive poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT)shell(V_(2)O_(3)-Od@PEDOT)was fabricated for AZIBs by combining the sulfur-assisted thermal reduction and in-situ polymerization *** introduced oxygen vacancies of V_(2)O_(3)–Od@PEDOT weaken the electrostatic interaction between Zn^(2+) and the host material,improving the interfacial electron transport,while the PEDOT coating enhances the structural stability and conductivity of V_(2)O_(3),thus accelerating the reaction *** on the advantages,V_(2)O_(3)–Od@PEDOT electrode delivers a reversible capacity of 495 mAh·g^(−1) at 0.1 A·g^(−1),good rate capability(189 mAh·g^(−1)at 8.0 A·g^(−1)),and an impressive cycling stability with 90.1%capacity retention over 1000 cycles at 8.0 A·g^(−1).The strategy may provide a path for exploiting the other materials for high performance AZIBs.

Preparation of Self-limiting Heating Cables with Excellent Processability, Mechanical Properties and PTC Effect via Thermal and Electrical Treatments

Polymer/conductive filler composites have been widely used for the preparation of self-limiting heating cables with the positive temperature coefficient (PTC) effect. The control of conductive filler distribution and network in polymer matrix is the most critical for performance of PTC materials. In order to compensate for the destruction of the filler network structure caused by strong shearing during processing, an excessive conductive filler content is usually added into the polymer matrix, which in turn sacrifices its processability and mechanical properties. In this work, a facile post-treatment of the as-extruded cable, including thermal and electrical treatment to produce high-density polyethylene (HDPE)/carbon black (CB) cable with excellent PTC effect, is developed. It is found for the as-extruded sample, the strong shearing makes the CB particles disperse uniformly in HDPE matrix, and 25 wt% CB is needed for the formation of conductive paths. For the thermal-treated sample, a gradually aggregated CB filler structure is observed, which leads to the improvement of PTC effect and the notable reduction of CB content to 20 wt%. It is very interesting to see that for the sample with combined thermal and electrical treatment, CB particles are agglomerated and oriented along the electric field direction to create substantial conductive paths, which leads to a further decrease of CB content down to 15 wt%. In this way, self-limiting heating cables with excellent processability, mechanical properties and PTC effect have simultaneously been achieved.

A toroidal SAW gyroscope with focused IDTs for sensitivity enhancement

A surface acoustic wave(SAW)gyroscope measures the rate of rotational angular velocity by exploiting a phenomenon known as the SAW gyroscope *** a gyroscope is a great candidate for application in harsh environments because of the simplification of the suspension vibration mechanism necessary for traditional microelectromechanical system(MEMS)***,for the first time,we propose a novel toroidal standing-wave-mode SAW gyroscope using focused interdigitated transducers(FIDTs).Unlike traditional SAW gyroscopes that use linear IDTs to generate surface acoustic waves,which cause beam deflection and result in energy dissipation,this study uses FIDTs to concentrate the SAW energy based on structural features,resulting in better focusing performance and increased SAW *** experimental results reveal that the sensitivity of the structure is 1.51µV/(°/s),and the bias instability is 0.77°/s,which are improved by an order of magnitude compared to those of a traditional SAW ***,the FIDT component can enhance the performance of the SAW gyroscope,demonstrating its superiority for angular velocity *** work provides new insights into improving the sensitivity and performance of SAW gyroscopes.

Metal-organic nanosheet assembly ions sieving membrane for precise lithium ion and anion/solvent separation toward robust lithium metal battery

Metal-organic nanosheets（MONs） as a novel material with tunable pore structures and low mass transfer resistance,have emerged as molecular sieves for the separation of gases and *** theory,they can also serve as ion sieves for lithium metal batteries（LMBs）,realizing the high-energy and dendritic free ***,there are rarely relevant reports,because it is difficult to simultaneously balance efficient ion sieving ability,high ion passing rate and high electrochemical ***,we synthesized a stable ultrathin MON[Zn2（Bim）4]([Zn2（Bim）4]Nanosheet,HBim=benzimidazolate),which can achieve both efficient lithium ion sieving ability,high lithium ion passing rate and high electrochemical stability at the same *** separator assembled by this MON exhibits high Li+transfer number of 0.81 due to the accurate lithium ion and anion/solvent *** battery containing such separator shows high lithium ionic conductivity of 0.74 m S cm-1and low activation energy of 0.099 eV,which can be attributed to the nanometer level thickness and the ion sieving *** is more,we realized the application of MONs-based ion sieves in LMBs with intercalation cathodes for the first *** the LiFePO4|Li battery with as-assembled separator demonstrates improved Coulombic efficiency（>99%） and significantly extended cycling life（>1600 cycles） with 80% capacity retention.

Inter-annual variations of dissolved oxygen and hypoxia off the northern Changjiang River(Yangtze River) Estuary in summer from 1997 to 2014

Hypoxia off the Changjiang River Estuary has been the subject of much attention,yet systematic observations have been lacking,resulting in a lack of knowledge regarding its long-term change and *** revisiting the repeated surveys of dissolved oxygen(DO) and other relevant hydrographic parameters along the section from the Changjiang River Estuary to the Jeju-do in the summer from 1997 to 2014,rather different trends were revealed for the dual low-DO *** nearshore low-DO core,located close to the river mouth and relatively stable,shows that hypoxia has become more severe with the lowest DO descen ding at a rate of -0.07 mg/(L·a) and the thickness of low-DO zone rising at a rate of 0.43 m/*** offshore core,centered around 40-m isobath but moving back and forth between 123.5°-125°E,shows large fluctuations in the minimum DO concentration,with the thickness of low-DO zone falling at a rate of -1.55 m/*** probable factors affecting the minimum DO concentration in the two regions also *** the nearshore region,the decreasing minimum DO is driven by the increase in both stratification and primary productivity,with the enhanced extension of the Changjiang River Diluted Water(CDW) strengthening *** the offshore region,the fluctuating trend of the minimum DO concentration indicates that both DO loss and DO supplement are *** DO loss is primarily attributed to bottom apparent oxygen utilization caused by the organic matter decay and is also relevant to the advection of low-DO water from the nearshore *** DO supplement is primarily due to weakened *** analysis also shows that the minimum DO concentration in the nearshore region was extremely low in 1998,2003,2007 and 2010,related to El Ni?o signal in these summers.
