Relationship between interleukin-6 polymorphism and susceptibility to chronic hepatitis B virus infection

AIM:To identify the relationship between tag single nucleotide polymorphisms(tag SNPs) of interleukin-6(IL-6) gene and susceptibility to chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection in a Han Chinese ***:We performed a case-control study of501 Chinese patients with chronic HBV infection and301 self-limiting HBV-infected individuals as *** DNA was isolated from the whole blood of all subjects using phenol/chloroform with MaXtract highdensity tubes. Tag SNPs were identified using genotype data from the panel(Han Chinese in Beijing) of the phase II HapMap Project. Four tag SNPs in IL-6(rs17147230A/T,rs2066992G/T,rs2069837A/G and rs2069852A/G) were genotyped by the Multiplex Snapshot technique. The genotype and allele frequencies were calculated and ***:Five haplotypes were involved in the analysis,with frequencies higher than 0.03. One of the haplotypes,TTAA,was significantly different between the two groups. Overall haplotype P values were:ATAA,P = 0.605,OR(95%CI) = 1.056(0.860-1.297); TGAG,P = 0.385,OR(95%CI) = 1.179(0.813-1.709); TGGG,P = 0.549,OR(95%CI) = 1.087(0.827-1.429); TTAA,P = 0.004,OR(95%CI) = 0.655(0.491-0.873); TTAG,P = 0.266,OR(95%CI) = 1.272(0.832-1.944). However,the four SNPs showed no significant genotype/allele associations with susceptibility to chronic HBV infection. Overall allele P values were:rs17147230,P = 0.696,OR(95%CI) = 1.041(0.850-1.276); rs2066992,P = 0.460,OR(95%CI)= 1.090(0.868-1.369); rs2069837,P = 0.898,OR(95%CI) = 0.983(0.759-1.274); rs2069852,P = 0.165,OR(95%CI) = 0.859(0.693-1.064). Overall genotype P values were:rs17147230,P = 0.625; rs2066992,P= 0.500; rs2069837,P = 0.853; and rs2069852,P =***:The four tag SNPs of IL-6 gene may be associated with susceptibility to chronic HBV infection in the Han Chinese population.

Developing new polymeric semiconductors with excellent device performance is essential for organic electronics. Herein, we synthesized two new thiazoloisoindigo(Tz II)-based polymers, namely, P(Tz II-d Th-d Th) and P(Tz II-d Th-d Tz), by copolymerizing thiophene-flanked Tz II with bithiophene and bithiazole, respectively. Owing to the more electron-deficient nature of bithiazole than bithiophene, P(Tz II-d Th-d Tz)possesses deeper LUMO/HOMO levels of-3.45/-5.47 e V than P(Tz II-d Th-d Th)(-3.34/-5.32 e V). The organic field-effect transistor(OFET) devices based on P(Tz II-d Th-d Th) exhibited p-type behaviors with an average hole mobility value as high as 1.43 cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1), while P(Tz II-d Th-d Tz)showed typical ambipolar characteristics with average hole and electron mobilities of 0.38 and 0.56 cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1). In addition, we compared the performances of both polymers with other Tz II-based polymers reported in our previous work, and showed that the charge carrier polarity can be manipulated by adjusting the number of the thiophene units between the acceptor unit. As the increase of the number of thiophene rings,charge carrier polarity shifts from electron-dominated ambipolar transport to hole-dominated ambipolar transport and then to unipolar hole transport in OFETs, which provides an effective molecular design strategy for further optimization of polymer OFET performance.

Recent advances and perspectives of zinc metal-free anodes for zinc ion batteries

Zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs) are recognized as potential energy storage devices due to their advantages of low cost, high energy density, and environmental friendliness. However, zinc anodes are subject to unavoidable zinc dendrites, passivation, corrosion, and hydrogen evolution reactions during the charging and discharging of batteries, becoming obstacles to the practical application of ZIBs. Appropriate zinc metal-free anodes provide a higher working potential than metallic zinc anodes, effectively solving the problems of zinc dendrites, hydrogen evolution, and side reactions during the operation of metallic zinc anodes. The improvement in the safety and cycle life of batteries creates conditions for further commercialization of ZIBs. Therefore, this work systematically introduces the research progress of zinc metal-free anodes in “rocking chair” ZIBs. Zinc metal-free anodes are mainly discussed in four categories: transition metal oxides,transition metal sulfides, MXene(two dimensional transition metal carbide) composites, and organic compounds, with discussions on their properties and zinc storage mechanisms. Finally, the outlook for the development of zinc metal-free anodes is proposed. This paper is expected to provide a reference for the further promotion of commercial rechargeable ZIBs.

Intelligent UAV Based Energy Supply for 6G Wireless Powered IoT Networks

In this paper,we develop a 6G wireless powered Internet of Things(IoT)system assisted by unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)to intelligently supply energy and collect data at the same *** our dual-UAV scheme,UAV-E,with a constant power supply,transmits energy to charge the IoT devices on the ground,whereas UAV-B serves the IoT devices by data collection as a base *** this framework,the system's energy efficiency is maximized,which we define as a ratio of the sum rate of IoT devices to the energy consumption of two UAVs during a fixed working *** the constraints of duration,transmit power,energy,and mobility,a difficult non-convex issue is presented by optimizing the trajectory,time duration allocation,and uplink transmit power of *** tackle the non-convex fractional optimization issue,we deconstruct it into three subproblems and we solve each of them iteratively using the descent method in conjunction with sequential convex approximation(SCA)approaches and the Dinkelbach *** simulation findings indicate that the suggested cooperative design has the potential to greatly increase the energy efficiency of the 6G intelligent UAV-assisted wireless powered IoT system when compared to previous benchmark systems.

Design of Ca-type todorokite catalysts with highly active for the selective reduction of NO_(x) by NH_(3) at low temperatures

Ca-type todorokite catalysts were designed and prepared by a simple redox method and applied to the selective reduction of NO_(x) by NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR)for the first *** with the Na-type manjiroite prepared by the same method,the todorokite catalysts with different Mn/Ca ratios showed greatly improved catalytic activity for NO_(x) *** them,Mn8Ca4 catalyst exhibited the best NH_(3)-SCR performance,achieving 90%NO_(x) conversion within temperature range of 70-275℃ and having a high sulphur *** to the Na-type manjiroite sample,Ca-type todorokite catalysts possessed an increased size of tunnel,resulting in a larger specific surface *** increased the amounts of Ca doping,the Na content in Ca-type todorokite catalysts significantly decreased,providing larger amounts of Bronsted acid sites for NH_(3) adsorption to produce NH_(4)^(+).The NH_(4)^(+)species were highly active for reaction with NO+O_(2),playing a determining role in NH_(3)-SCR process at low ***,larger amounts of surface adsorbed oxygen contained over the Ca-doping samples than that over Na-type manjiroite,promoting the oxidation of NO and fast SCR *** the Ca-type todorokite catalysts,furthermore,nitrates produced during the flow of NO+O_(2),were more active for reaction with NH_(3) than that over Na-type manjiroite,benefiting the occurrence of NH_(3)-SCR *** study provides novel insights into the design of NH_(3)-SCR catalysts with high performance.
