Fast thermal responsive separators toward long-life and safe lithium metal batteries

Lithium metal batteries(LMBs)have been extensively investigated during the past decades because of their ultrahigh energy *** the increasing demand for energy density,however,the safety issue of LMBs has become a significant *** particular,localized areas of increased temperature(namely,hotspots)may be induced and even exacerbated within LMBs by uneven current distribution,internal short circuits,or inadequate heat dissipation,which significantly sacrifices battery safety and cycle ***,we report the rational design and fabrication of a fast thermal responsive separator capable of inhibiting the growth of lithium dendrites and mitigating thermal propagation,thereby reducing the risk of thermal *** as-achieved separator comprises both an electrospun membrane using a phase change material with superior thermal-storage ability and a thermally conductive modification layer of hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets with a fast heat-transfer *** is demonstrated that such a unique integration of heat conduction and heat storage enables the functional separator with attractive abilities to mitigate hotspots and inhibit the growth of lithium dendrites upon the cycling of ***,pouch cells with the thermal-responsive separator,as well as numerical simulations,verify much enhanced safety and cycle life of *** work may offer a new conceptual design of intelligent separators that acts as a functional unit encapsulated within a single cell to boost in-situ thermal management,which will help to develop high-safety and energy-dense LMBs.

The low signal-to-noise ratio(S/N)and single functionality of fluorescence imaging agents have limited their practical *** two-photon excitation(2PE)imaging probes are highly desirable in vivo with larger imaging depth,minor autofluorescence background,and less ***,we developed responsive aggregated gold nanoparticles(Au NPs)as high contrast 2PE imaging agents,capable of emitting red fluorescence upon excitation of near-infrared(NIR)laser and possessing a high signal-to-noise ratio(S/N of 2,475).By forming aggregates in situ inside tumor tissue,doxorubicin hydrochloride(DOX)-loaded mix-charged gold nanoparticles(DOX-MC-Au NPs)were utilized to act as selective fluorescence imaging probes and precise therapy *** high-contrast theranostic agents offer a promising potential for precise cancer imaging and therapy,which might open a new venue to multifunctional and noninvasive theranostics.

N-acetylserotonin alleviates retinal ischemia-reperfusion injury via HMGB1/RAGE/NF-κB pathway in rats

AIM:To observe the effects of N-acetylserotonin(NAS)administration on retinal ischemia-reperfusion(RIR)injury in rats and explore the underlying mechanisms involving the high mobility group box 1(HMGB1)/receptor for advanced glycation end-products(RAGE)/nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)signaling ***:A rat model of RIR was developed by increasing the pressure of the anterior chamber of the *** male Sprague Dawley were randomly divided into five groups:sham group(n=8),RIR group(n=28),RIR+NAS group(n=28),RIR+FPS-ZM1 group(n=8)and RIR+NAS+FPS-ZM1 group(n=8).The therapeutic effects of NAS were examined by hematoxylin-eosin(H&E)staining,and retinal ganglion cells(RGCs)*** expression of interleukin 1 beta(IL-1β),HMGB1,RAGE,and nod-like receptor 3(NLRP3)proteins and the phosphorylation of nuclear factorkappa B(p-NF-κB)were analyzed by immunohistochemistry staining and Western blot *** expression of HMGB1 protein was also detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).RESULTS:H&E staining results showed that NAS significantly reduced retinal edema and increased the number of RGCs in RIR *** NAS therapy,the HMGB1 and RAGE expression decreased significantly,and the activation of the NF-κB/NLRP3 pathway was antagonized along with the inhibition of p-NF-κB and NLRP3 protein ***,NAS exhibited an anti-inflammatory effect by reducing IL-1β*** inhibitory of RAGE binding to HMGB1 by RAGE inhibitor FPS-ZM1 led to a significant decrease of p-NF-κB and NLRP3 expression,so as to the IL-1βexpression and retinal edema,accompanied by an increase of RGCs in RIR ***:NAS may exhibit a neuroprotective effect against RIR via the HMGB1/RAGE/NF-κB signaling pathway,which may be a useful therapeutic target for retinal disease.

Adhesive hydrogel has drawn great attention for wide applications in wound healing owing to its excellent biocompatibility and lasting ***,traditional adhesive hydrogels only keep the wound moist to promote wound *** is still imperative to fabricate adhesive hydrogels that exhibit efficient antibacterial ability,active driving dynamic wound closure,and reactive oxygen species(ROS)scavenging together with excellent mechanical ***,a novel hydrogel based on poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide)(PNIPAAm),a thermoresponsive polymer,and tannic acid(TA)-Ag nanoparticles(TA-Ag NPs)exhibiting active contraction,tissue adhesion,anti-inflammatory and antibacterial functions was ***-Ag dispersed in the hydrogel not only functioned as the catalyst to polymerize the reaction but also provided additional anti-inflammatory and antibacterial ***,tannic acid containing catechol groups endowed the hydrogel with adhesive *** interestingly,the obtained hydrogel exhibited the thermoresponsive shrinkage ability,which could mechanically drive wound closure due to the presence of PNIPAAm *** vivo mouse full-thickness skin defect model demonstrated that this actively contractible and antibacterial hydrogel is a promising dressing to improve wound healing process by accelerating tissue regeneration and preventing bacterial ***,this multi-functional adhesive hydrogel developed here may provide a new possibility for wound healing.

BACKGROUND Colorectal polyps,which are characterized by a high recurrence rate,represent preneoplastic conditions of the *** to unclear mechanisms of pathogenesis,first-line therapies for non-hereditary recurrent colorectal polyps are limited to endoscopic *** recent studies suggest a mechanistic link between intestinal dysbiosis and polyps,the exact compositions and roles of bacteria in the mucosa around the lesions,rather than feces,remain *** To clarify the composition and diversity of bacteria in the mucosa surrounding or 10 cm distal to recurrent intestinal *** Mucosal samples were collected from four patients consistently with adenomatous polyps(Ade),seven consistently with non-Ade(Pol),ten with current Pol but previous Ade,and six healthy individuals,and bacterial patterns were evaluated by 16S rDNA *** discriminant analysis and Student’s t-tests were used to identify the genus-level bacteria differences between groups with different colorectal polyp ***’s correlation coefficients were used to evaluate the correlation between intestinal bacteria at the genus level and clinical *** The results confirmed a decreased level of probiotics and an enrichment of pathogenic bacteria in patients with all types of polyps compared to healthy *** changes were not restricted to the mucosa within 0.5 cm adjacent to the polyps,but also existed in histologically normal tissue 10 cm distal from the *** differences in bacterial diversity were observed in the mucosa from individuals with normal conditions,Pol,and *** abundance of Gram-negative bacteria,including Klebsiella,Plesiomonas,and Cronobacter,was observed in Pol group and Ade group,suggesting that resistance to antibiotics may be one risk factor for bacterium-related harmful ***,age and gender were linked to bacteria changes,indicating the potential involvement of sex hormone

Thienoacenes is one of most important groups of semiconducting materials due to the high stability and superior ***,there are scarce studies on the emission properties of thienoacenes to ***,we synthesized fluorinated and chlorinated dibenzo[d,d’]thieno[3,2-b;4,5-b’]dithiophenes(DBTDTs)derivatives F6-DBTDT and Cl6-DBTDT by sulfoxide cyclization,significantly lowering the energy levels relative to the parent compound *** to single crystal structure analysis,F6-DBTDT molecules adopt one-dimensional slipped stacking with closeπ-πinteractions of 3.43Å(1Å=0.1 nm),which is different from the parent compound DBTDT with herringbone stacking ***,the halogenated DBTDT derivatives exhibit enhanced emission properties both in solution and in the solid state,opening up possiblities to improve photoluminescence of thienoacences by halogenation.

Faraday isolators can prevent the front-end system from disturbance and damage caused by a back-reflected beam,so they are important elements in laser *** magneto-optical materials are the most important component in Faraday isolators,the studies on magneto-optical materials have attracted much attention these ***_(3)Al_(5)O_(12)(TAG)ceramics are considered to be one of the most promising magneto-optical materials for visible to near-infrared wavelength band application because of their outstanding comprehensive magneto-optical ***,the optical quality of TAG ceramics needs further optimization to meet the application *** this work,high optical quality(Tb_(1−x)Y_(x))_(3)Al_(5)O_(12)(x=0,0.05,0.1,0.2,and 0.3)magneto-optical ceramics were fabricated successfully by solid-state reaction sintering combined with hot isostatic pressing(HIP)*** the ceramics obtained showed a single garnet phase for different values of x in the range *** addition of Y_(2)O_(3) was found to suppress the secondary phase and improve optical quality *** ceramic samples obtained had clear grain boundaries and possessed the in-line transmittance values of 82.9%at 1064 nm and 82.2%at 633 nm,*** Verdet constants of(Tb_(1−x)Y_(x))_(3)Al_(5)O_(12)ceramics with x=0,0.05,0.1,0.2,and 0.3 were−188.1,−175.4,−168.5,−143.0,and−119.9 rad/(T·m),*** thermal conductivity of TAG ceramics was found to be 5.23 W/(m·K)at 25℃,and when 20%Y was substituted in place of Tb,the thermal conductivity decreased by only 9.4%.

Research on Restoration of Murals Based on Diffusion Model and Transformer

Due to the limitations of a priori knowledge and convolution operation,the existing image restoration techniques cannot be directly applied to the cultural relics mural restoration,in order to more accurately restore the original appearance of the cultural relics mural images,an image restoration based on the denoising diffusion probability model(Denoising Diffusion Probability Model(DDPM))and the Transformer *** process involves two steps:in the first step,the damaged mural image is firstly utilized as the condition to generate the noise image,using the time,condition and noise image patch as the inputs to the noise prediction network,capturing the global dependencies in the input sequence through the multi-attentionmechanismof the input sequence and feedforward neural network processing,and designing a long skip connection between the shallow and deep layers in the Transformer blocks between the shallow and deep layers using long skip connections to fuse the feature information of global and local outputs to maintain the overall consistency of the restoration results;In the second step,taking the noisy image as a condition to direct the diffusion model to back sample to generate the restored *** results show that the PSNR and SSIM of the proposedmethod are improved by 2%to 9%and 1%to 3.3%,respectively,which are compared to the comparison *** study proposed synthesizes the advantages of the diffusionmodel and deep learningmodel to make themural restoration results more accurate.

Current-carrying tribological behavior of C/Cu contact pairs in extreme temperature and humidity environments for railway catenary systems

Many current-carrying contact pairs, such as those found in pantograph-catenary systems, operate in open environments and are susceptible to significant external interference from temperature and humidity variations. This study investigated the evolution of the friction coefficient and contact resistance of C/Cu contact pairs under alternating temperature, humidity, and current conditions. Through experimentation, the wear rate and microtopography of the worn surface were analyzed under various constant parameters. Subsequently, the differences in tribological behavior and current-carrying characteristics of the contact pairs under these three parameters were explored. The results revealed that the decrease in temperature resulted in a significant increase in the friction coefficient of the contact pairs, carbon wear, and copper surface roughness. Additionally, the surface oxidation rate was lower at lower temperatures. Moreover, contact resistance did not consistently increase with decreasing temperature, owing to the combined action of the contact area and the oxide film. Compared with temperature, humidity fluctuations at room temperature exerted less influence on the friction coefficient and contact resistance of the contact pairs. Dry environments rendered carbon materials vulnerable to oxidation and cracking, while excessive humidity fostered abrasive wear and arcing. High-current conditions generally degraded the tribological properties of C/Cu contacts. In the absence of current, the friction coefficient was extremely high, and the copper transfer was high. Under excessive current, copper was susceptible to plowing by carbon micro-bumps and abrasive particles, resulting in a decrease in the friction coefficient. The release of lipids from the carbon surface due to temperature elevation weakened the electrical contact performance and increased the occurrence of arc erosion, thereby exacerbating carbon wear.

Identification and functional analysis of CG3526 in spermatogenesis of Drosophila melanogaster

Spermatogenesis is a critical part of reproduction in insects;however,its molecular mechanism is still largely *** this study,we identified a testis-specific gene CG3526 in Drosophila *** analysis showed that CG3526 contains a zinc binding domain and 2 C2H2 type zinc fingers,and it is clustered to the vertebrate really interesting new gene(RING)family E3 ubiquitin-protein *** CG3526 was knocked down by RNA interference(RNAi),the testis became much smaller in size,and the apical tip exhibited a sharp and thin end instead of the blunt and round shape in the control *** importantly,compared to the control flies,only a few mature sperm were present in the seminal vesicle of C587-Gal4>CG3526 RNAi *** staining of the testis from CG3526 RNAi flies showed that the homeostasis of testis stem cell niche was disrupted,cell distribution in the apical tip was scattered,and the process of spermatogenesis was not ***,we found that the phenotype of CG3526 RNAi flies’testis was similar to that of testis of Stat92E RNAi flies,the expression level of CG3526 was significantly downregulated in the Stat92EF06346 mutant flies,and the promoter activity of CG3526 was upregulated by *** together,our results indicated that CG3526 is a downstream effector gene in the JAK-STAT signaling pathway that plays a key role in the spermatogenesis of Drosophila.
