Due to non-saturating magnetoresistance(MR)and the special compensation mechanism,the Weyl semimetal Ta As single crystal has attracted considerable attention in condensed matter ***,we use maximum entropy mobility spectrum analysis(MEMSA)to extract charge carrier information by fitting the experimentally measured longitudinal and transverse electric transport curves of Ta *** carrier types and the number of bands are obtained without any *** of the temperature dependence shows details of carrier property *** quantitative results explain the nonsaturated magnetoresistance and Hall sign change phenomena of TaAs.

In this experimental prospective study, we aimed to analyze the effect of transient scrotal hyperthermia on the male reproductive organs, from the perspective of sperm parameters, semen plasma biochemical markers, and oxidative stress, to evaluate whether different frequencies of heat exposure cause different degrees of damage to spermatogenesis. Two groups of volunteers （10 per group） received testicular warming in a 43~C water bath 10 times, for 30 min each time： group 1：10 consecutive days; group 2： once every 3 days. Sperm parameters, epididymis and accessory sex gland function, semen plasma oxidative stress and serum sex hormones were tested before treatment and in the 16-week recovery period after treatment. At last, we found an obvious reversible decrease in sperm concentration （P = 0.005 for Group 1 and P = 0.008 for Group 2 when the minimums were compared with baseline levels, the same below）, motility （P= 0.009 and 0.021, respectively）, the hypoosmotic swelling test score （P-- 0.007 and 0.008, respectively）, total acrosin activity （P = 0.018 and 0.009, respectively）, and an increase in the seminal plasma malondialdehyde concentration （P = 0.005 and 0.017, respectively）. The decrease of sperm concentration was greater for Group 2 than for Group 1 （P = 0.031）. We concluded that transient scrotal hyperthermia seriously, but reversibly, negatively affected the spermatogenesis, oxidative stress may be involved in this process. In addition, intermittent heat exposure more seriously suppresses the spermatogenesis compared to consecutive heat exposure. This may be indicative for clinical infertility etiology analysis and the design of contraceptive methods based on heat stress.

Acclimatization is a process of biological adaptation when exposed to environmental factors such as hypoxia,cold and heat for prolonged periods of time,where non-genetical variations play a role in allowing subjects to tolerate hypoxic,cold or hot *** review focuses on the characteristics and mechanisms of acclimatization found through major research advances by our ***,the mechanisms underlying the acclimatization to extreme environments are *** our investigations,the physiological changes of multiple systems including the nervous,circulatory,respiratory,and hemopoietic system were demonstrated when the acclimatization to hypoxia was developed,and the underlying significance of hypoxia-inducible factor-1(HIF-1) was ***,it is suggested that the development of acclimatization to extreme environments is *** and cold coexist at high *** investigations revealed the characteristics of negative cross-relationship in the acclimatization to hypoxia and *** third,it is interesting for us to understand that acclimatization to extreme environments is transferable among individuals,and the characteristics of heat acclimatizationinducing factor(HAIF) were *** above findings will provide a theoretical guidance for protective operations and help to establish a solid foundation for future research related to acclimatization.

We develop an experimental tool to investigate the order parameter of superconductors by combining pointcontact spectroscopy measurement with high-pressure *** is demonstrated for the first time that planar point-contact spectroscopy measurement on noncentrosymmetric superconducting PbTaSe2 single crystals is systematically subjected to hydrostatic pressures up to 12.1 *** such a high pressure,the normal-state contact resistance is sensitive to the applied pressure,reflecting the underlying variation of contact transparency upon *** a superconducting state,the pressure dependence of the energy gap△0 and the critical temperature Tc for gap opening/closing are extracted based on a generalized Blond-Tinkham-Klapwijk *** gap ratio 2△0/kB Tc indicates a crossover from weak coupling to strong coupling in electron pairing strength upon pressure for *** experimental results show the accessibility and validity of high-pressure pointcontact spectroscopy,offering rich information about high-pressure superconductivity.

AIM:To study the effect of sulfated cholecystokinin-octapeptide(CCK-8)on systemic hypotension,gene andprotein expression of TNF-α in spleen of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced endotoxic shock(ES)rats,and furtherinvestigate the signal transduction mechanism of p38mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK).METHODS:The changes of blood pressure were observedusing physiological record instrument in four groups of rats:LPS(S mg·kg^(-1),iv),CCK-8(40μg·kg^(-1),iv)pretreatment10 rain before LPS(8 mg·kg^(-1)),CCK-8(40μg·kg^(-1),iv)ornormal saline(control)*** content of TNF-αinspleen was assayed 2 h after LPS administration usingELISA kit and the expression of TNF-α mRNA was examined30 min,2 h and 6 h after LPS administration by reversetranscribed polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Activationof p3S MAPK was detected with Western blot 30 min afterLPS ***:CCK-8 reversed LPS-induced decrease of meanarterial pressure(MAP)in *** content of TNF-α inspleen was(282±30)ng·L^(-1)in control group,while itincreased to(941±149)ng·L^(-1)in LPS group,P<***-8 significantly inhibited the LPS-induced increase ofTNF-α content in *** decreased to(462±87)ng·L^(-1)inCCK-8+LPS group,P<*** expression of TNF-αmRNA 30 min and 2 h after treatment was stronger in LPSgroup,while it was lowered after CCK-8 ***38 MAPK expression increased significantly in LPS group(5.84 times of control)and CCK-8 increased the activationof p38 MAPK in ES rats(10.74 times of control).CONCLUSION:CCK-8 reverses the decrease of MAP in ESrats and has inhibitory effect on the gene and proteinexpression of TNF-α in spleen,and p38 MAPK may beinvolved in its signal transduction mechanisms.

The origin of superconductivity observed at the point contact between the normal metal tip and the topological material remains uncertain due to the potential presence of superconducting elements or allotropes *** is imperative to seek out a topological material entirely free of superconducting impurities and induce superconductivity between it and normal tips to verify the source of the induced ***,we report the observation of superconductivity up to 9 K induced at point contacts between normal metal tips and the topological material grey arsenic,which is free of *** determined temperature dependencies of superconducting gapsΔ(T)deviate from the Bardeen-Cooper-Schriefer(BCS)superconductivity law,exhibiting abnormal ***,the highly anisotropic upper critical field H_(c2)(T)suggests the anisotropy of the projected interfacial Fermi *** tuning the junction resistance,we obtained a negative correlation between the superconducting gapΔand the efective barrier height Z,which validates the interfacial coupling strength as a key factor in the observed tip-induced *** experimental results provide guidance for the relevant theory about tip-induced superconductivity on topological materials.

The genus Ilex L. has been used as remedies in traditional Chinese medicine in Aquifoliaceae and beverages for thousands of years due to abundant pharmaceutical bioactivities. There are 600 species in genus IlexL. containing various compounds such as terpenoids, saponins, glycosides, etc. Three species, L cornuta, I. chinensis, and L rotunda have been admitted in Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2015 to treat dyspepsia, stomatitis, and hyperactivity cough and protect the liver and kidney. Recent studies showed that several species have been daily drunk to promote human health and prevent cardiovascular diseases in the folk. Here we reviewed the genus Ilex L. in phytochemistry, ethnopharmacology, and pharmacology.
