Liver transplantation (LT) is the only way to cure end-stage liver disease with or without tumors in the last few decades [1].However,critical issues such as how to rebuild portal flow in patients with portal vein thrombosis (PVT) or superior mesenteric vein (SMV) thrombosis have been challenging for surgeons.Adequate portal flow is critical in LT because more than 75%of the liver’s blood supply comes from the portal vein and the rest comes from the hepatic artery.PVT is a universal problem in LT.

Mountain tunnels in cold regions are vulnerable to adverse effects of freezing action.Thus,it is necessary to identify the lining responses of shallow mountain tunnels subjected to freezing action.To quantify the influence of freezing action and key design parameters(such as cross-sectional shape;lining thickness;and waterproof measures)on the lining response,a thermal-hydro-mechanical coupled finite element(FE)model is established and verified.Then,specific consideration is given to the lining internal force and resulting axial stresses.And the influences of the cross-sectional shape,concrete parameters,and waterproof measures on the lining responses are investigated.Generally,the rectangular tunnel has the worst security;the circular tunnel is the safest.On the other hand,when the thermal conductivity is less than 2.2[W/(m·K)],a greater thermal conductivity will cause a greater risk of damage to the lining.Moreover,the drainage plate can reduce the value of minimum axial stresses,whether frozen or not,even eliminating the tensiondamaged area.Overall,this study helps to estimate the lining responses and prevent frost damages for shallow mountain tunnels during freezing period.

Objective To evaluate the quality of the existing studies and summarize evidence of important outcomes of meta-analyses/systematic reviews(MAs/SRs)of CFS.Methods Potentially eligible studies were searched in the following electronic databases from inception to 1 September,2019:Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM),China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP),China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),WanFang Database(WF),Web of Science,Embase,PubMed and Cochrane Library.Grades of Recommendation,Assessment,Development,and Evaluation(GRADE)was used to evaluate the quality of evidence.The methodological quality of the literature was evaluated by A Measure Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews-2(AMSTAR-2)and the quality of the report was assessed by Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses(PRISMA).The intra-class correlation coefficient was used to assess the consistency of the reviewers,with an overall intraclass correlation coefficient score of 0.967.Results Ten MAs/SRs were included.The overall conclusions were that acupuncture had good safety and efficacy in the treatment of CFS,but some of these results were contradictory.The GRADE indicated that out of the 17 outcomes,high-quality evidence was provided in 0(0%),moderate in 3(17.65%),low in 10(58.82%),and very low in 4(23.53%).The results of AMSTAR-2 showed that the methodological quality of all included studies was critically low.The PRISMA statement revealed that 8 articles(80%)were in line with 20 of the 27-item checklist,and 2 articles(20%)matched with 10-19 of the 27 items.Conclusion We found that acupuncture on treating CFS has the advantage for efficacy and safety,but the quality of SRs/MAs of acupuncture for CFS need to be improved.

Silent information regulator 2 （Sir2） proteins, or sirtuins, are nicotine adenine dinucleotide （NAD）-dependent deacetylases that connect metabolism with longevity in lower organisms. In mammals, there are seven Sir2 homologs, namely, silent information regulators （SIRT1-7）. SIRT4 and SIRT7 genes play a crucial role in regulating lipid metabolism, cellular growth and metabolism. This suggests that they are potential candidate genes for affecting body size and meat quality traits in animals. Hence, this study aimed to detect genetic variations of both SIRT4 and SIRT7 bovine genes in Qinchuan cattle, and to evaluate the effect of these variations on economically important body size and meat quality traits. Expression analysis using quantitative real-time PCR （qPCR） indicated that SIRT4 and SIRT7 were broadly expressed in all thirteen studied tissues. The expression of SIRT4 was higher in liver, muscle, and in subcutaneous fat tissue. In the case of SIRT7, the expression was higher in lung, abomasum, and subcutaneous fat. Using DNAsequencing, a total of three single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs） were identified within SIRT4 and SIRT7 genes in 468 Qinchuan cattle. These included one novel SNP within 3＇ untranslated regions （UTR） of SIRT4 （SNP1： g. 13915A〉G） and two novel synonymous substitutions in SIRT7 （SNP2： g.3587C〉T and SNP3： g.3793T〉C）. Statistical analyses indicated that all three SNPs could significantly influence some body size and meat quality traits in Qinchuan cattle. These novel findings will provide a background for application of bovine SIRT4 and SIRT7 genes in the selection program of Chinese cattle.

Background： Placebo was defined as any therapy that is used for its nonspecific psychological and physiologic effect but has no specific pharmacologic impact on the condition being treated. Besides medication therapies, studies have found that the optimal dietary approach as well as physical activity and education are useful to control hyperglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes （T2DM）. The aim of this study was to evaluate the placebo effects ofantidiabetic therapies in Asian and Caucasian T2DM patients and make a comparison between the two ethnicities. Methods： A search using the MEDlinE database, EMBASE, and Cochrane Database was performed, from when recording began until December 2016. The main concepts searched in English were sulfonylurea （SU）; alpha glucosidase inhibitors （AGI）; metfornlin （MET）; thiazolidinediones （TZD）; dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors （DPP-4i）; sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors （SGLT2i）; glucagon-like peptide- 1 receptor agonist （GLP- 1RA）; type 2 diabetes （T2DM）; placebo controlled; and randomized controlled trials. Using the Cochrane instrument, we evaluated the adequacy of randomization, allocation concealment procedures, and blinding. Results： This study included 63 studies with a total of 7096 Asian patients involved and 262 studies with a total of 27,477 Caucasian patients involved. In Caucasian population, the use of placebo led to significant redtlctions of glycosylated hemoglobin （HbAlc）, -0.683% （P - 0.008） in SU monotherapy treatment, -0.193% （P = 0.001） in DPP-4i treatment, and -0.230% （P 〈 0.001） in SGLT2i treatment, respectively. In Asian population, the use of placebo resulted in significant decreases ofHbA1c, 0.162% （P= 0.012） in DPP-4i treatment and -0.269% （P =0.028） in GLP-1RA add-on therapy, respectively. The placebo also significantly reduced body weight. In Caucasian population, placebo use resulted in 0.833 kg （P = 0.006） weight loss by SU treatment and 0.953 kg （P = 0.006） weight loss by GLP-I RA treatment. AIM:To investigate the clinical characteristics,treatment methods and outcomes of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD)in highly myopic eyes with implantable collamer lens(ICL).METHODS:High myopia patients who received treatment for nontraumatic RRD after ICL implantation surgery at the Retinal Department of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center from Jan 2018 to Dec 2022 were reviewed.Comprehensive ophthalmologic examinations including visual acuity measurement and digital fundus photography were performed in each patient.RESULTS:A total of nine RRD eyes from nine patients who received V4c-ICL implantation were included.The mean time from ICL implantation surgery to the diagnosis of RRD was 32.44±22.56mo(range,1-60mo).At the initial visit for RRD,giant retinal tear(GRT),horseshoe tear,simple round hole,and horseshoe tear combined with round hole were detected in 3,3,2,and 1 eye(s),respectively,with maculaoff in eyes.Eight patients received surgical treatment,and one patient was treated by retinal laser photocoagulation alone.The ICL was preserved in 7 eyes.At the last followup,the mean best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)improved significantly from 1.76±1.06 logMAR at presentation to 0.81±1.01 logMAR(P=0.035),and no case of recurrent retinal detachment was found.CONCLUSION:The morphological presentation of retinal breaks is diverse in this study.The ICL can be preserved in most cases during the course of retinal detachment repair surgery in our data,companied with acceptable visual and anatomical outcomes.

Objective:This study aimed to explore the relationship between cohesin subunit REC8 reduction and meiosis chromosome segregation errors in the ovary.Methods:Rec8^(+/-)mice were generated using CRIPSR/Cas9 gene editing.The association between age and REC8 expression levels in the ovary was determined by Western blotting.Chromosome segregation errors were investigated by immunofluorescence imaging of superovulated oocytes.Wild-type andRec8^(+/-)female mice at 5,8,20,36,and 40 weeks were used to evaluate ovarian reserve by ovarian clearing and immunolabeling.Results:Ovary REC8 expression levels gradually decreased with age,while chromosome segregation errors increased with age.Segregation errors were more common inRec8^(+/-)mice,suggesting an association with REC8 expression.The ovarian reserve capacity decreased significantly with age.The ovarian reserve inRec8^(+/-)mice was inferior to that of age-matched wild-type mice,indicating important roles of age and REC8 levels in the ovarian reserve.Conclusions:REC8 reduction has an age-cumulative effect on meiotic chromosome segregation errors in mouse ovaries.Rec8 haploinsufficiency poses a major challenge in generating normal and reproductive oocytes in aging mice.

Effects of professional rehabilitation training on the recovery of neurological function in young stroke patients

Young stroke patients have a strong desire to return to the society, but few studies have been conducted on their rehabilitation training items, intensity, and prognosis. We analyzed clinical data of young and middle-aged/older stroke patients hospitalized in the Department of Neurological Rehabilitation, China Rehabilitation Research Center, Capital Medical University, China from February 2014 to May 2015. Results demonstrated that hemorrhagic stroke （59.6%） was the primary stroke type found in the young group, while ischemic stroke （60.0%） was the main type detected in the middle-aged/older group. Compared with older stroke patients, education level and incidence of hyperhomocysteinemia were higher in younger stroke patients, whereas, incidences of hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease were lower. The average length of hospital stay was longer in the young group than in the middle-aged/older group. The main risk factors observed in the young stroke patients were hypertension, drinking, smoking, hyperlipidemia, hyperhomocysteinemia, diabetes, previous history of stroke, and heart disease. The most accepted rehabilitation program consisted of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, acupuncture and moxibustion. Average rehabilitation training time was 2.5 hours/day. Barthel Index and modified Rankin Scale scores were increased at discharge. Six months after discharge, the degree of occupational and economic satisfaction declined, and there were no changes in family life satisfaction. The degrees of other life satisfaction （such as friendship） improved. The degree of disability and functional status improved significantly in young stroke patients after professional rehabilitation, but the number of patients who returned to society within 6 months after stroke was still small.

Abstract CC chemokine receptor 4 （CCR4） is a kind of G-protein-coupled receptor, which plays a pivotal role in allergic inflammation. The interaction between 2-（2-（4-chloro-phenyl）-5-{[（naphthalen-1- ylmethyl）-carbamlyl]-methyl-4-oxo-thiazolidin-3-yl）-N-（3-morpholin-4-yl-propyi）-acetamide （S009） and the N-terminal extracellular tail （ML40） of CCR4 has been validated to be high affinity by capillary zone electrophoresis （CZE）.The S009 is a known CCR4 antagonist. Now, a series of new thiourea derivatives have been synthesized. Compared with positive control S009, they were screened using ML40 as target by CZE to find some new drugs for allergic inflammation diseases. The synthesized compounds XJH-5, XJH-4, XJH-17 and XJH-1 displayed the interaction with ML40, but XJH-9, XJH-10, XJH-I 1, XJH-12, XJH-13, XJH-14, XJH-3, XJH-8, XJH-6, XJH-7, XJH-15, XJH-16 and XJH-2 did not bind to ML40. Both qualification and quantification characterizations of the binding were determined. The affinity of the four compounds was valued by the binding constant, which was similar with the results of chemotactic experiments. The established CEZ method is capable of sensitive and fast screening for a series of lactam analogs in the drug discovery for allergic inflammation diseases.

In this study,the sources of potentially toxic elements(PTEs)from atmospheric deposition in the waters of Guizhou’s Caohai Lake were investigated in addition to the potential risks to human health.Moss bags were used to enrich PTEs from atmospheric deposition,and eight monitoring sites that best represented geographic variation were established around Caohai Lake.Moss bags were collected and examined at every 3 months to identify spatiotemporal patterns of dry and wet atmospheric deposition of PTEs.Zn was the most abundant metal identified from deposition in Caohai(72.07%–95.94%),followed by Pb and Cd,while Hg was the least abundant(0.008%–0.354%).The contributions of wet deposition of PTEs were greater than those of dry deposition,and deposition during the heating season from December to April was greater than that between April to July.Hg was mainly derived from atmospheric dry deposition(65.38%–84.44%).Spatial distribution analysis indicated that atmospheric deposition was associated with the intensity of human activities and heating emissions.Exposure via hand-to-mouth contact accounted for over 99%of the total exposure risk although overall exposure was lower than threshold acceptable levels for carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic metals,indicating an overall lack of risk towards human health.Nevertheless,the health risk from atmospheric deposition of PTEs in Caohai Lake may be reduced by focusing on Zn,Pb,and Cd deposition in rainfall and minimizing the hazards associated with hand-to-mouth exposure to PTEs.
