Degradation of o-dichlorobenzene by DBD-NTP co-modified titanium gel catalyst

In order to study the degradation process of dioxins in industrial flue gas,the decomposition of o-dichlorobenzene(o-DCB)in a DBD plasma catalytic reactor was investigated.The results showed that an NTP-catalyzed system,especially using the Cu Mn Ti Oxcatalyst,had better o-DCB degradation performance compared to plasma alone.The combination of the Cu Mn Ti Oxcatalyst with NTP can achieve a degradation efficiency of up to 97.2%for o-DCB;the selectivity of CO and CO_(2)and the carbon balance were 40%,45%,and 85%,respectively.The dielectric constant and electrical property results indicated that the surface discharge capacity of the catalysts played a major role in the degradation of o-DCB,and a higher dielectric constant could suppress the plasma expansion and enhance the duration of the plasma discharge per discharge cycle.According to the O1s XPS and O_(2)-TPD results,the conversion of CO to CO_(2)follows the M-v-K mechanism;thus,the active species on the catalyst surface play an important role.Moreover,the Cu Mn Ti Oxand NTP mixed system exhibited excellent stability,which is probably because Cu doping improved the lifetime of the catalyst.This work can provide an experimental and theoretical basis for research in the degradation of o-DCB by plasma catalyst systems.

Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined with PD-1 inhibitors and Lenvatinib for hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein tumor thrombus

BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients complicated with portal vein tumor thrombus(PVTT)exhibit poor prognoses and treatment responses.AIM To investigate efficacies and safety of the combination of PD-1 inhibitor,transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE)and Lenvatinib in HCC subjects comorbid with PVTT.METHODS From January 2019 to December 2020,HCC patients with PVTT types Ⅰ-Ⅳ were retrospectively enrolled at Beijing Ditan Hospital.They were distributed to either the PTL or TACE/Lenvatinib(TL)group.The median progression-free survival(mPFS)was set as the primary endpoint,while parameters like median overall survival,objective response rate,disease control rate(DCR),and toxicity level served as secondary endpoints.RESULTS Forty-one eligible patients were finally recruited for this study and divided into the PTL(n=18)and TL(n=23)groups.For a median follow-up of 21.8 months,the DCRs were 88.9%and 60.9%in the PTL and TL groups(P=0.046),res-pectively.Moreover,mPFS indicated significant improvement(HR=0.25;P<0.001)in PTL-treated patients(5.4 months)compared to TL-treated(2.7 months)patients.There were no treatment-related deaths or differences in adverse events in either group.CONCLUSION A triplet regimen of PTL was safe and well-tolerated as well as exhibited favorable efficacy over the TL regimen for advanced-stage HCC patients with PVTT types Ⅰ-Ⅳ.

Refractory autoimmune hemolytic anemia in a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus and ulcerative colitis:A case report

BACKGROUND Ulcerative colitis(UC)and systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)are both systemic immunoreactive diseases,and their pathogenesis depends on the interaction between genes and environmental factors.There are no reports of UC with SLE in China,but six cases of SLE with UC have been reported in China.The combination of these two diseases has distinct effects on the pathogenesis of both diseases.CASE SUMMARY A female patient(30 years old)came to our hospital due to dull umbilical pain,diarrhea and mucous bloody stool in August 2018 and was diagnosed with UC.The symptoms were relieved after oral administration of mesalazine(1 g po tid)or folic acid(5 mg po qd),and the patient were fed a control diet.On June 24,2019,the patient was admitted for treatment due to anemia and tinnitus.During hospitalization,the patient had repeated low-grade fever and a progressively decreased Hb level.Blood tests revealed positive antinuclear antibody test,positive anti-dsDNA antibody,0.24 g/L C3(0.9-1.8 g/L),0.04 g/L C4(0.1-0.4 g/L),32.37 g/L immunoglobulin(8-17 g/L),and 31568.1 mg/24 h total 24-h urine protein(0-150 mg/24 h).The patient was diagnosed with SLE involving the joints,kidneys and blood system.Previously reported cases of SLE were retrieved from PubMed to characterize clinicopathological features and identify prognostic factors for SLE.CONCLUSION The patient was discharged in remission after a series of treatments,such as intravenous methylprednisolone sodium succinate,intravenous human immunoglobulin,cyclophosphamide injection,and plasma exchange.After discharge,the patient took oral prednisone acetate tablets,cyclosporine capsules,hydroxychloroquine sulfate tablets and other treatments for symptoms and was followed up regularly for 1 month,after which the patient's condition continued to improve and stabilize.

Clinical analysis of 12 cases of ovarian neuroendocrine carcinoma

BACKGROUND Neuroendocrine neoplasms of the female genital tract are rare.AIM To enhance our clinical understanding of neuroendocrine carcinoma(NEC)of the ovary.METHODS A retrospective review was conducted on 12 patients diagnosed with NEC of the ovary,analyzing clinicopathological characteristics,treatment modalities,and survival status.RESULTS The median age at diagnosis was 34.5 years(range:20 to 62 years).Among the 12 cases,9 were small cell carcinoma of the ovary and 3 were large cell NEC.Five cases were stage I tumors,one case was stage IV,and six cases were stage III.Eleven patients underwent surgery as part of their treatment.All patients received adjuvant chemotherapy.Among the 12 patients,one patient received radiotherapy,and one patient with a BRCA2 mutation was administered PARP inhibitor maintenance after chemotherapy.The median progression-free survival was 13 months,and the median overall survival was 19.5 months.Four cases remained disease-free,while eight cases experienced tumor recurrence,including three cases that resulted in death due to disease recurrence.CONCLUSION NEC of the ovary is a rare condition that is more common in women of childbearing age and is associated with aggressive behavior and poor clinical outcomes.Surgical resection remains the mainstay of treatment,with some patients benefiting from adjuvant chemoradiation therapy.

Engineered interface of three-dimensional coralliform NiS/FeS_(2)heterostructures for robust electrocatalytic water cleavage

Heterojunction structures improve the intrinsic activity of electrocatalysts by enhancing the charge transfer between the catalyst and the electrode.In this paper,the NiS/FeS_(2)heterostructured electrocatalyst is fabricated by a simple sulfidation method using an interface engineering strategy to adjust the surface electron density of the electrocatalyst.As expected,NiS/FeS_(2)electrocatalyst exhibits superior activity and durable oxygen evolution reaction(OER)stability,requiring only a low overpotential of 183 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2)and can be stable for more than 80 h,superior to NiS,FeS_(2)electrocatalyst individually,and precious RuO_(2).Notably,NiS/FeS_(2)is also a good bifunctional electrocatalyst with good overall water splitting performance,and it only requires a voltage 1.56 V to obtain a current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2)for more than 12 h.Remarkably,the NiS/FeS_(2)hybridization facilitates the formation of coral-like structures,increasing the electrochemical surface area(ECSA)and enhancing the charge transfer efficiency,thus leading to excellent electrocatalytic performance.This work proposes a constructive strategy for designing efficient electrocatalysts based on interface engineering,and lays a foundation for designing a new class of electrocatalysts.

Serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D Level Might Be a Useful Indicator of Disease Severity in Obese Children With Atopic Dermatitis: A Case-Control Study

Objective: To assess the relationship between the severity of atopic dermatitis (AD) in children of varying weight categories and their serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] levels.Methods: The study population comprised 899 patients with AD and 854 age- and sex-matched controls. The Mann-WhitneyU test and Kruskal-WallisH tests were used to assess differences between groups, and Spearman correlation analysis was used to test correlation.Results: The 25(OH)D level in the AD group wasM (Q25,Q75), 24.0 (19.7, 28.4) ng/mL, which was significantly lower than the control group (26.4 [23.6, 29.9] ng/mL;Z = -3.34,P = 0.001). 25(OH)D levels in children with AD were negatively correlated with body mass index (r = -0.30,P < 0.001), Severity scoring of Atopic Dermatitis (SCORAD;r = -0.14,P < 0.001), total immunoglobulin E (r = -0.13,P < 0.001), and eosinophil (r = -0.08,P = 0.017). There were statistically significant differences in 25(OH)D (H = 18.46,P < 0.001), total immunoglobulin E (H = 9.13,P = 0.010), eosinophil (H = 67.17,P < 0.001), and SCORAD (H = 10.49,P = 0.005) among groups with different body mass index classification. The 25(OH)D levels were 22.3 (17.5, 27.1) ng/mL in the overweight AD group and 22.3 (17.6, 25.7) ng/mL in the obese AD group, which were significantly lower than those in the normal-weight AD group (24.7 [20.4, 25.5] ng/mL;P = 0.003,P = 0.004). 25(OH)D levels were negatively correlated with SCORAD in obese AD patients (r = -0.25,P = 0.010).Conclusion: Vitamin D insufficient or deficient is obvious in children AD patients. The 25(OH)D levels in the overweight/obese AD group are significantly lower than those in the normal-weight AD group. Vitamin D level is negatively correlated with SCORAD in obese children with AD.

Association of prealbumin with short-term and long-term outcomes in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction

BACKGROUND Prealbumin is considered to be a useful indicator of nutritional status. Furthermore, it has been found to be associated with severities and prognosis of a range of diseases. However, limited data on the association of baseline prealbumin level with outcomes of patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) are available.METHODS We analyzed 2313 patients admitted for acute STEMI between October 2013 and December 2020. In-hospital outcomes and mortality during the 49 months(interquartile range: 26–73 months) follow-up period were compared between patients with the low prealbumin level(< 170 mg/L) and those with the high prealbumin level(≥ 170 mg/L).RESULTS A total of 114 patients(4.9%) died during hospitalization. After propensity score matching, patients with the low prealbumin level than those with the high prealbumin level experienced higher incidences of heart failure with Killip class Ⅲ(9.9%vs. 4.4%, P = 0.034), cardiovascular death(8.4% vs. 3.4%, P = 0.035) and the composite of major adverse cardiovascular events(19.2%vs. 10.3%, P = 0.012). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified that the low prealbumin level(< 170 mg/L) was an independent predictor of in-hospital major adverse cardiovascular events(odds ratio = 1.918, 95% CI: 1.250–2.942, P = 0.003). The cutoff value of prealbumin level for predicting in-hospital death was 170 mg/L(area under the curve = 0.703, 95% CI: 0.651–0.754, P< 0.001;sensitivity = 0.544, specificity = 0.794). However, after multivariate adjustment of possible confounders, baseline prealbumin level(170 mg/L) was no longer independently associated with 49-month cardiovascular death. After propensity score matching, Kaplan-Meier survival curves revealed consistent results.CONCLUSIONS Decreased prealbumin level closely related to unfavorable short-term outcomes. However, after multivariate adjustment and controlling for baseline differences, baseline prealbumin level was not independently associated with an increased risk of long-term cardio

Lanthanide complex-based materials with magnetic and luminescent properties have received a great deal of attention,owing to their importantly potential applications in diverse fields.In this work,the 9-anthracenecarboxylic acid(9-Haca)as bridging ligand was applied in combination with optically activeπ-conjugated 2,4,6-tri(2-pyridyl)-1,3,5-triazine(tptz)to construct a series of new di-nuclear and tetranuclear lanthanide 9-anthracenecarboxylates[La_(2)(9-aca)_(6)(tptz)_(2)(μ-H_(2)O)]·0.25H_(2)O(1),[Ln_(2)(9-aca)_(6)(tptz)_(2)(H_(2)O)_(2)]·0.5AQ·CH_(3)COOH_(2)H_(2)O[Ln=Sm(2a),Eu(2b),Gd(2c),Tb(2d),Dy(2e),Tm(2f);AQ=9,10-anthracenedione]and[Ln_(4)(9-aca)_(10)(tptz)_(2)(CH3COO)2]·H_(2)O[Ln=Eu(3a),Gd(3b),Dy(3c)].1 displays a di-nuclear centrosymmetric moiety[La_(2)(9-aca)_(6)(tptz)_(2)(μ-H_(2)O)]built up from two complex[La(9-aca)_(2)(tptz)]groups bridged by one H_(2)O molecule and two syn-syn-μ2-η1:η1-9-aca-bridging ligands,while 2a-2f are isostructural and co mprise another di-nuclear centrosymmetric moieties[Ln_(2)(9-aca)_(6)(tptz)_(2)(H_(2)O)_(2)]based on two complex[Ln(9-aca)_(2)(tptz)(H_(2)O)]groups connected by two syn-syn-μ2-η1:η1-9-aca-bridging ligands,3a-3c are isostructural and show tetra-nuclear centro symmetric moieties[Ln4(9-aca)10(tptz)2(CH3COO)2]containing three types of coordination modes of 9-aca-ligands.The present compounds offer the only examples of lanthanide 9-anthracenecarboxylates decorated by optically active tptz.Magnetic investigations of 2a,2c-2f,and 3b-3c indicate that 3c is typical of slow relaxation of the magnetization,while 2c and 3b show significant magnetocaloric effect(MCE)with the value of-ΔSm of 5.26 J/(kg·K)at 4 K and 15.65 J/(kg·K)at 2 K(ΔH=7 T),respectively.The luminescent properties were also studied and reveal that the characteristic luminescent properties of the 7r-conjugated aromatic ligands are introduced into magnetic lanthanide 9-anthracenecarboxylates,simultaneously exhibiting slow magnetic relaxation(or MCE)and luminescent properties.

Relationship of Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Thickness and Retinal Vessel Calibers with Cognitive Impairment in the Asymptomatic Polyvascular Abnormalities Population

Objective Cognitive impairment(CI)in older individuals has a high morbidity rate worldwide,with poor diagnostic methods and susceptible population identification.This study aimed to investigate the relationship between different retinal metrics and CI in a particular population,emphasizing polyvascular status.Methods We collected information from the Asymptomatic Polyvascular Abnormalities Community Study on retinal vessel calibers,retinal nerve fiber layer(RNFL)thickness,and cognitive function of 3,785participants,aged 40 years or older.Logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between retinal metrics and cognitive function.Subgroups stratified by different vascular statuses were also analyzed.Results RNFL thickness was significantly thinner in the CI group(odds ratio:0.973,95%confidence interval:0.953–0.994).In the subgroup analysis,the difference still existed in the non-intracranial arterial stenosis,non-extracranial carotid arterial stenosis,and peripheral arterial disease subgroups(P<0.05).Conclusion A thin RNFL is associated with CI,especially in people with non-large vessel stenosis.The underlying small vessel change in RNFL and CI should be investigated in the future.
