Systematic study of cluster radioactivity in trans-lead nuclei with various versions of proximity potential formalisms

In this study,based on the framework of the Coulomb and proximity potential model(CPPM),we systematically investigate the cluster radioactivity half-lives of 26 trans-lead nuclei by considering the cluster preformation probability,which possesses a simple mass dependence on the emitted cluster according to R.Blendowske and H.Walliser[Phys.Rev.Lett.61,1930(1988)].Moreover,we investigate 28 different versions of the proximity potential formalisms,which are the most complete known proximity potential formalisms proposed to describe proton radioactivity,two-proton radioactivity,αdecay,heavy-ion radioactivity,quasi-elastic scattering,fusion reactions,and other applications.The calculated results show that the modified forms of proximity potential 1977,denoted as Prox.77-12,and proximity potential 1981,denoted as Prox.81,are the most appropriate proximity potential formalisms for the study of cluster radioactivity,as the root-mean-square deviation between experimental data and relevant theoretical results obtained is the least;both values are 0.681.For comparison,the universal decay law(UDL)proposed by Qi et al.[Phys.Rev.C 80,044326(2009)],unified formula of half-lives forαdecay and cluster radioactivity proposed by Ni et al.[Phys.Rev.C 78,044310(2008)],and scaling law(SL)in cluster radioactivity proposed by Horoi et al.[J.Phys.G 30,945(2004)]are also used.In addition,utilizing CPPM with Prox.77-12,Prox.77-1,Prox.77-2,and Prox.81,we predict the half-lives of 51 potential cluster radioactive candidates whose cluster radioactivity is energetically allowed or observed but not yet quantified in NUBASE2020.The predicted results are in the same order of magnitude as those obtained using the compared semi-empirical and/or empirical formulae.At the same time,the competition betweenαdecay and cluster radioactivity of these predicted nuclei is discussed.By comparing the half-lives,this study reveals thatαdecay predominates.

In the present study,on the basis of the screened electrostatic effect of the Coulomb potential,we propose an improved Gamow model within the centrifugal potential in which there are only two adjustable parameters,i.e.,the screened parameters t and g,which represent the combined effect of the interaction potential and reduced mass of the emitted proton-daughter nucleus on the half-life of proton radioactivity in the overlapping region.Using this model,we systematically calculated the proton radioactivity half-lives of 31 spherical nuclei and 13 deformed nuclei and obtained corresponding root-mean-square deviations of 0.274 and 0.367,respectively.The relationship between the proton radioactivity half-life of 177Tlm and the corresponding angular momentum l removed by the emitted proton is also discussed.In addition,we used the proposed model to predict the proton radioactivity half-lives of 18 nuclei whose proton radioactivity is energetically allowed or observed but not yet quantified in NUBASE2020.For comparison,we used the universal decay law of proton radioactivity proposed by Qi et al.(Phys Rev C 85:011303,2012.https://***/10.1103/PhysR evC.85.011303),and the new Geiger–Nuttall law of proton radioactivity proposed by Chen et al.(Eur Phys J 55:214,2019.https://***/10.1140/epja/i2019-12927-7).

In the present work,we extend the Coulomb and Proximity Potential Model(CPPM)to study two-proton(2p)radioactivity from excited states while the proximity potential is chosen as AW95 proposed by Aage Withner in 1995.Demonstration reveals that the theoretical results acquired by CPPM exhibit a high level of consistency with prior theoretical models such as the unified fission model(UFM),generalized liquid-drop model(GLDM)and effective liquid-drop model(ELDM).Furthermore,within the CPPM,we predicted the half-lives of potential 2p radioactive nuclei for which experimental data are currently unavailable.The predicted results were then assessed,compared with UFM,ELDM and GLDM models,and examined in detail.

Theoretical calculations of proton emission half-lives based on a deformed Gamow-like model

In this study,proton emission half-lives were investigated for deformed proton emitters with 53≤Z≤83based on the presented deformed Gamow-like model,where the deformation effect was included in the Coulomb potential.The experimental half-lives of proton emitters can be reproduced within a factor of 3.45.For comparison,the results from the universal decay law and the new Geiger-Nuttall law are also presented.Furthermore,the relevance of the half-lives to the angular momentum l for ^(117)La,^(121)Pr,^(135)Tb,and ^(141)Ho were analyzed,and the corresponding possible values of l were proposed:l=3,3,4,4.

In this study,we systematically investigated the two-proton(2p)radioactivity half-lives from the excited state of nuclei near the proton drip line within the Gamowlike model(GLM)and modified Gamow-like model(MGLM).The calculated results were highly consistent with the theoretical values obtained using the unified fission model[Chin.Phys.C 45,124105(2021)],effective liquid drop model,and generalized liquid drop model[Acta Phys.Sin 71,062301(2022)].Furthermore,utilizing the GLM and MGLM,we predicted the 2p radioactivity halflives from the excited state for some nuclei that are not yet available experimentally.Simultaneously,by analyzing the calculated results from these theoretical models,it was found that the half-lives are strongly dependent on Qand l.

Analysis of cracks origin behaviors during sulfide stress corrosion (SSC) in HSLA steel at different temperatures by electrochemical noise

The sulfide stress corrosion(SSC)behaviors of the high strength low alloy steel at the different temperatures were investigated by the microstructural observation and electrochemical noise(EN)analysis.With the corrosion temperature increasing from 20 to 40℃,SSC ruptured time is prolonged.The increase in corrosion temperature results in the decrease of the saturation solubility of H_(2)S in the solution and thus increases pH value of solution.The increase in corrosion temperature decreases the size of the holes and cracks in the corrosion product film on the surface of the sample,which is due to the formation of the dense FeS corrosion product film.The current kurtosis results indicate that the time for the first occurrence of crack initiation is postponed by the increase in the corrosion temperature.The standard deviation of current noise signals,current kurtosis,power spectral density and energy distribution plot results shows a great consistency,which suggests that EN analysis method can reflect SSC behaviors in real time.

In this study, based on a two-potential approach, we systematically investigated the proton radioactivity half-lives of spherical proton emitters with 69≤Z≤81 from the ground and/or isomeric state, choosing the nuclear potential to be a modified Woods–Saxon potential that contains the isospin effect of the daughter nucleus. It was found that the calculated half-lives could reproduce the experimental data well. Furthermore, we extended this model to predict the half-lives of 17 protonemitting candidates whose radioactivity is energetically allowed or observed but not yet quantified in NUBASE2020. For comparison, the unified fission model, Coulomb potential and proximity potential model, universal decay law for proton emission, and new Geiger–Nuttall law were also used. All the predicted results are consistent with each other.

Background Despite the increasing focus on strengthening One Health capacity building on global level, challenges remain in devising and implementing real-world interventions particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Recognizing these gaps, the One Health Action Commission (OHAC) was established as an academic community for One Health action with an emphasis on research agenda setting to identify actions for highest impact.Main text This viewpoint describes the agenda of, and motivation for, the recently formed OHAC. Recognizing the urgent need for evidence to support the formulation of necessary action plans, OHAC advocates the adoption of both bottom-up and top-down approaches to identify the current gaps in combating zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, addressing food safety, and to enhance capacity building for context-sensitive One Health implementation.Conclusions By promoting broader engagement and connection of multidisciplinary stakeholders, OHAC envisions a collaborative global platform for the generation of innovative One Health knowledge, distilled practical experience and actionable policy advice, guided by strong ethical principles of One Health.

BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)is the main pathogen that causes a variety of upper digestive diseases.The drug resistance rate of H.pylori is increasingly higher,and the eradication rate is increasingly lower.The antimicrobial resistance of H.pylori is an urgent global problem.It has been confirmed that Banxia Xiexin decoction(BXXXT)demonstrates the effects of treating gastrointestinal diseases,inhibiting H.pylori and protecting gastric mucosa.The purpose of the present study is to further explore the therapeutic effects of BXXXT on drug-resistant H.pylori.AIM To confirm that BXXXT demonstrates therapeutical effects in vivo and in vitro on gastritis mice with drug-resistant H.pylori and explain its mechanism to provide an experimental basis for promoting the application of BXXXT.METHODS The aqueous extract of BXXXT was gained by water decocting method.The inhibitory effect of the aqueous extract on H.pylori was detected by dilution in vitro;drug-resistant H.pylori cells were used to build an acute gastritis model in vivo.Thereafter,the model mice were treated with the aqueous extract of BXXXT.The amount of H.pylori colonization,the repair of gastric mucosal damage,changes of inflammatory factors,apoptosis,etc.,were assessed.In terms of mechanism exploration,the main medicinal compositions of BXXXT aqueous extract and the synergistic bacteriostatic effects they had demonstrated were analyzed using mass spectrometry;the immune function of peripheral blood cells such as CD3+T and CD4+T of mice with gastritis before and after treatment with BXXXT aqueous extract was detected using a flow cytometry;the H.pylori transcriptome and proteome after treatment with BXXXT aqueous extract were detected.Differently expressed genes were screened and verification was performed thereon with knockout expression.RESULTS The minimum inhibitory concentration of BXXXT aqueous extract against H.pylori was 256-512μg/mL.A dose of 28 mg/kg BXXXT aqueous extract treatment produced better therapeutical effects than the standard trip

An algorithm for identifying symmetric variables based on the order eigenvalue matrix

To simplify the process for identifying 12 types of symmetric variables in Boolean functions, we propose a new symmetry detection algorithm based on minterm expansion or the truth table. First, the order eigenvalue matrix based on a truth table is defined according to the symmetry definition of a logic variable. By analyzing the constraint conditions of the order eigenvalue matrix for 12 types of symmetric variables, an algorithm is proposed for identifying symmetric variables of the Boolean function. This algorithm can be applied to identify the symmetric variables of Boolean functions with or without don't-care terms. The proposed method avoids the restriction by the number of logic variables of the graphical method, spectral coefficient methods, and AND-XOR expansion coefficient methods, and solves the problem of completeness in the fast computation method. The algorithm has been implemented in C language and tested on MCNC91 benchmarks. The application results show that, compared with the traditional methods, the new algorithm is an optimal detection method in terms of the applicability of the number of logic variables, the Boolean function including don't-care terms, detection type, and complexity of the identification process.
