Wire electrochemical machining(WECM)is a potential method for manufacturing macrostructures from difficult-to-cut materials,such as turbine slots,with good surface integrity and low costs.In this study,a novel tube electrode with array holes in the front and insulation in the back was applied using WECM to improve the machining precision and efficiency.Additionally,assisted by an immersion electrolyte and axial flushing,the electrolyte-deficient gap was supplemented to achieve the cutting of a very thick workpiece.The simulation results indicated that this method could effectively reduce the machining gap and improve the uniformity of the electric-and flow-field distributions.Experiments verified that when the uninsulated range(machining angle)was reduced from 360°to 90°,the side machining gap was reduced from 462.5µm to 175µm.Finally,using optimized machining parameters,array slits with gaps as small as(175±10)μm were machined on a powder superalloy René88DT sample with a thickness of 10 mm at a feed rate of 16µm/s.The feasibility of fabricating complex profiles using this method was verified using a self-designed servo device.

Benefiting from strong decoding capabilities,soft-decision decoding has been used to replace hard-decision decoding in various communication systems,and NAND flash memory systems are no exception.However,soft-decision decoding relies heavily on accurate soft information.Owing to the incremental step pulse programming(ISPP),program errors(PEs)in multi-level cell(MLC)NAND flash memory have different characteristics compared to other types of errors,which is very difficult to obtain such accurate soft information.Therefore,the characteristics of the log-likelihood ratio(LLR)of PEs are investigated first in this paper.Accordingly,a PE-aware statistical method is proposed to determine the usage of PE mitigation schemes.In order to reduce the PE estimating workload of the controller,an adaptive blind clipping(ABC)scheme is proposed subsequently to approximate the PEs contaminated LLR with different decoding trials.Finally,simulation results demonstrate that(1)the proposed PE-aware statistical method is effective in practice,and(2)ABC scheme is able to provide satisfactory bit error rate(BER)and frame error rate(FER)performance in a penalty of negligible increasing of decoding latency.

Objective:To explore the possible effects and mechanism of Zhizhu Decoction(ZZD)on the pathophysiology of slow transit constipation(STC).Methods A total of 54 C57BL/6 mice was randomly divided into the following 6 groups by a random number table,including control,STC model(model),positive control,and low-,medium-and high-doses ZZD treatment groups(5,10,20 g/kg,namely L,M-,and H-ZZD,respectively),9 mice in each group.Following 2-week treatment,intestinal transport rate(ITR)and fecal water content were determined,and blood and colon tissue samples were collected.Hematoxylin-eosin and periodic acid-Schiff staining were performed to evaluate the morphology of colon tissues and calculate the number of goblet cells.To determine intestinal permeability,serum levels of lipopolysaccharide(LPS),low-density lipoprotein(LDL)and mannose were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Western blot analysis was carried out to detect the expression levels of intestinal tight junction proteins zona-occludens-1(ZO-1),claudin-1,occludin and recombinant mucin 2(MUC2).The mRNA expression levels of inflammatory cytokines including tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,IL-4,IL-10 and IL-22 were determined using reverse transcription-quantitative reverse transcription reaction.Colon indexes of oxidative stress were measured by ELISA,and protein expression levels of colon silent information regulator 1/forkhead box O transcription factor 1(SIRT1/FoxO1)antioxidant signaling pathway were detected by Western blot.Results Compared with the model group,ITR and fecal moisture were significantly enhanced in STC mice in the M-ZZD and H-ZZD groups(P<0.01).Additionally,ZZD treatment notably increased the thickness of mucosal and muscular tissue,elevated the number of goblet cells in the colon of STC mice,reduced the secretion levels of LPS,LDL and mannose,and upregulated ZO-1,claudin-1,occludin and MUC2 expressions in the colon in a dose-dependent manner,compared with the model group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).In addition,ZZD si

BACKGROUND Endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage using electrocautery-enhanced(ECE)delivery of lumen-apposing metal stent(LAMS)is gradually being re-cognized as a viable palliative technique for malignant biliary obstruction after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)failure.However,most of the studies that have assessed its efficacy and safety were small and hetero-geneous.Prior meta-analyses of six or fewer studies that were published 2 years ago were therefore underpowered to yield convincing evidence.AIM To update the efficacy and safety of ECE-LAMS for treatment of biliary ob-struction after ERCP failure.METHODS We searched PubMed,EMBASE,and Scopus databases from the inception of the ECE technique to May 13,2022.Primary outcome measure was pooled technical success rate,and secondary outcomes were pooled rates of clinical success,re-intervention,and adverse events.Meta-analysis was performed using a random-effects model following Freeman-Tukey double-arcsine transformation in R soft-ware(version 4.1.3).RESULTS Fourteen eligible studies involving 620 participants were ultimately included.The pooled rate of technical success was 96.7%,and clinical success was 91.0%.Adverse events were reported in 17.5%of patients.Overall reinter-vention rate was 7.3%.Subgroup analyses showed results were generally consistent.CONCLUSION ECE-LAMS has favorable success with acceptable adverse events in relieving biliary obstruction when ERCP is impossible.The consistency of results across most subgroups suggested that this is a generalizable approach.

In this study,we propose a drainage pipe pile under vacuum consolidation to integrate foundation treatment and pile foundation engineering in soft soil areas.To study its bearing capacity characteristics and foundation treatment performance,single pile static load tests,vane shear tests,and water content tests were carried out for ordinary piles,perforated piles,and drainage pipe piles under conditions of static and vacuum consolidation.Based on the results,the concept of strong and weak reinforcement areas was proposed and used for bearing capacity prediction.The results showed that the drainage pipe pile did not become silted under vacuum consolidation.The single pile bearing capacity was much higher than that of an ordinary pile,and the pile side friction was exerted mainly in the middle and lower parts.Good results were achieved using the shear strength at the junction of the strong and weak reinforcement areas to estimate the ultimate bearing capacity of a single pile.This study provided important insights into the design and construction of drainage pipe piles in a soft soil foundation.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of manipulation treatment on knee osteoarthritis rats and the effect on Rho-associated protein kinase(ROCK)/LIM-kinase1(LIMK1)/Cofilin signaling pathway.METHOD:Fifty Specific pathogen Free Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups(n=8 each):blank group,model group,manipulation group,celecoxib group,and manipulation combined with celecoxib group(MC group).The osteoarthritis model was established by injecting 0.2 m L 4%papain into the articular disc of the rats.After successfully establishing the model,we treated the manipulation group with pushing manipulation using one-finger-meditation to the Neixiyan(EX-LE4),Waixiyan(EX-LE5),Xuehai(SP10),Liangqiu(ST34),and Zusanli(ST36)acupoints for 10 min each time.Also,the celecoxib group was gavaged with 24 mg·kg^(-1)·d^(-1 )celecoxib,while the MC group was treated using both of these two methods.After four weeks,the cartilage of the right femur was removed for hematoxylin-eosin staining of the cartilage tissue.The expressions of interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in serum were observed using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Besides,we detected the expressions of ROCK,LIMK1,Phospho-LIM-kinase1(Phospho-LIMK1),Cofilin,and Phospho-Cofilin by Western blot.RESULTS:Compared to the model group,the manipulation group,celecoxib group,and MC group all exhibited superior results concerning pathological morphologic changes of cartilage,as observed by hematoxylin-eosin staining and calculated using the Mankin score.Besides,in contrast to the blank group,the model group exhibited elevated serum levels of IL-1βand TNF-α(P<0.01),while the expression of ROCK,LIMK1,Phospho-LIMK1,Cofilin,and Phospho-Cofilin in cartilage were all higher(P<0.01).Also,the serum levels of IL-1βand TNF-αin each treatment group were lower(P<0.01)than in the model group.Moreover,there were lower expressions of ROCK,LIMK1,Phospho-LIMK1,Cofilin,and Phospho-Cofilin in cartilage in the manipulation group and the MC group(P<0.01).Compared with t

The generalized-stacking-fault energies are calculated to illustrate the dissociation of〈c＋a〉dislocation on pyramidal I plane in magnesium.The c surfaces of {1011} plane and its adjacent planes {3034} and {3032} are presented using Liu embedded-atom-method potential method,and one possible dissociation path of 1/3{1123} dislocation on {1011} plane with minimum energy is predicted.Meanwhile,another two reasonable dissociation paths of 1/3{1123} dislocation successively on {3034} and {3032} planes are also proposed.Moreover,based on molecular dynamics simulations of magnesium single crystals under c-axis compression,the possible slip path is further examined and discussed.

Objective This review discusses the current status and progress in studies on the roles of hydrogen sulfide （H2S） in regulation of neurotoxicity, neuroprotection, and neuromodulator, as well as its therapeutic potential for neurodegenerative disorders. Data sources The data used in this review were mainly from Medline and PubMed published in English from 2001 to August 2011. The search terms were ＂hydrogen sulfide＂, ＂neuron＂, and ＂neurodegenerative disorders＂. Study selection Articles regarding the regulation of neuronal function, the protection against neuronal damage and neurological diseases, and their possible cellular and molecular mechanisms associated with H2S were selected. Results The inhibited generation of endogenous H2S is implicated in 1-methy-4-phenylpyridinium ion, 6-OHDA, and homocysteine-triggered neurotoxicity. H2S elicits neuroprotection in Alzheimer＇s disease and Parkinson＇s disease models as well as protecting neurons against oxidative stress, ischemia, and hypoxia-induced neuronal death. H2S offers anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects, as well as activates ATP-sensitive potassium channels and cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator CI channels. H2S regulates the long-term potentiation （LTP） and GABAB receptors in the hippocampus, as well as intracellular calcium and pH homeostasis in neurons and gila cells. Conclusions These articles suggest that endogenous H2S may regulate the toxicity of neurotoxin. H2S not only acts as a neuroprotectant but also serves as a novel neuromodulator.

Proton computed tomography(CT)has a distinct practical significance in clinical applications.It eliminates 3–5%errors caused by the transformation of Hounsfield unit(HU)to relative stopping power(RSP)values when using X-ray CT for positioning and treatment planning systems(TPSs).Following the development of FLASH proton therapy,there are increased requirements for accurate and rapid positioning in TPSs.Thus,a new rapid proton CT imaging mode is proposed based on sparsely sampled projections.The proton beam was boosted to 350 MeV by a compact proton linear accelerator(LINAC).In this study,the comparisons of the proton scattering with the energy of 350 MeV and 230 MeV are conducted based on GEANT4 simulations.As the sparsely sampled information associated with beam acquisitions at 12 angles is not enough for reconstruction,X-ray CT is used as a prior image.The RSP map generated by converting the X-ray CT was constructed based on Monte Carlo simulations.Considering the estimation of the most likely path(MLP),the prior image-constrained compressed sensing(PICCS)algorithm is used to reconstruct images from two different phantoms using sparse proton projections of 350 MeV parallel proton beam.The results show that it is feasible to realize the proton image reconstruction with the rapid proton CT imaging proposed in this paper.It can produce RSP maps with much higher accuracy for TPSs and fast positioning to achieve ultra-fast imaging for real-time image-guided radiotherapy(IGRT)in clinical proton therapy applications.

BACKGROUND The optimal apolipoprotein or lipid measures for identifying statin-treated patients with coronary artery disease(CAD)at residual cardiovascular risk remain controversial.This study aimed to compare the predictive powers of apolipoprotein B(apoB),non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(non-HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),apoB/apolipoprotein A-1(apoA-1)and non-HDL-C/HDL-C for myocardial infarction(MI)in CAD patients treated with statins in the setting of secondary prevention.METHODS The study included 9191 statin-treated CAD patients with a five-year median follow-up.All measures were anal-yzed as continuous variables and concordance/discordance groups by medians.The hazard ratio(HR)with 95%CI was estimated by Cox proportional hazards regression.Patients were classified by the clinical presentation of CAD for further analysis.RESULTS The high-apoB-low-LDL-C and the high-non-HDL-C-low-LDL-C categories yielded HR of 1.40(95%CI:1.04–1.88)and 1.51(95%CI:1.07–2.13)for MI,respectively,whereas discordant high LDL-C with low apoB or non-HDL-C was not associa-ted with the risk of MI.No association of MI with discordant apoB versus non-HDL-C,apoB/apoA-1 versus apoB,non-HDL-C/HDL-C versus non-HDL-C,or apoB/apoA-1 versus non-HDL-C/HDL-C was observed.Similar patterns were found in patients with acute coronary syndrome.In contrast,no association was observed between any concordance/discordance category and the risk of MI in patients with chronic coronary syndrome.CONCLUSIONS ApoB and non-HDL-C better predict MI in statin-treated CAD patients than LDL-C,especially in patients with acute coronary syndrome.ApoB/apoA-1 and non-HDL-C/HDL-C show no superiority to apoB and non-HDL-C for predict-ing MI.
