The particle size of sediment is one of the main factors that influence the phosphorus physical adsorption on sediment. In order to eliminate the effect of other components of sediment on the phosphorus physical adsorption, the sediment mineral matrices were obtained by removing inorganic matter, metal oxides, and organic matter from natural sediments, which were collected from the Nantong reach of the Yangtze River. The results show that an exponential relationship exists between the median particle size （Ds0） and specific surface area （Sg） of the sediment mineral matrices, and the fine sediment mineral matrix sample has a larger specific surface area and pore volume than the coarse sediment particles. The kinetic equations were used to describe the phosphorus adsorption process of the sediment mineral matrices, including the Elovich equation, quasi-first-order adsorption kinetic equation, and quasi-second-order adsorption kinetic equation. The results show that the quasi-second-order adsorption kinetic equation has the best fitting effect. Using the mass conservation and Langmuir adsorption kinetic equations, a formula was deduced to calculate the equilibrium adsorption capacity of the sediment mineral matrices. The results of this study show that the phosphorus adsorption capacity decreases with the increase of Ds0, indicating that the specific surface area and pore volume are the main factors in determining the phosphorus adsorption capacity of the sediment mineral matrices. This study will help understand the important role of sediment in the transformation of phosphorus in aquatic environments.

Photosensitizers that can target and accumulate in mitochondria are expected to achieve good therapeutic effects in photodynamic therapy,as mitochondria are the energy generation factory in ***,we designed and synthesized a novel mitochondrion-targeting photosensitizer TPC-Py with aggregation-induced emission characteristics for image-guided photodynamic ***-Py possessed an efficient production of 1O2,with a quantum yield of 11.65%,upon mild white light irradiation(6 mW/cm^(2)).TPC-Py exhibited good biocompatibility under dark condition,but showed remarkable cytotoxicity towards human cervical carcinoma(HeLa)cells with a half maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50)of 3.2µmol/L when exposed to white light irradiation(14.4 J/cm^(2)).In addition,the Stokes shift of TPC-Py was as high as 150 nm,so that it could prevent self-absorption and increase the signal-to-noise ratio of fluorescence *** excellent performance of TPC-Py makes it a promising candidate in imaging-guided clinical PDT for cancer in the near future.

Evaluating the recyclability of powders in additive manufacturing has been a long-term *** this study,the microstructure and mechanical properties of a nickel-based superalloy fabricated by laser powder-bed fusion(LPBF)using recycled powders were ***-melted powder surfaces,satellite particles,and deformed powders were found in the recycled powders,combined with a high-oxygencontent surface *** increasing oxygen content led to the formation of high-density oxide inclusions;moreover,printing-induced cracks widely occurred and mainly formed along the grain boundaries in the as-built LPBF nickel-based superalloys fabricated using recycled powders.A little change in the Si or Mn content did not increase the hot cracking susceptibility(HCS)of the printed *** changing aspect ratio and the surface damage of the recycled powders might contribute to increasing the crack ***,the configuration of cracks in the as-built parts led to anisotropic mechanical properties,mainly resulting in extremely low ductility vertical to the building direction,and the cracks mainly propagated along the cellular boundary owing to the existence of a brittle precipitation phase.

In primate species with social systems consisting of one-male breeding units （OMUs）, resident male takeover represents a major challenge to individual reproductive success and mating strategies. The golden snub-nosed monkey （Rhinopithecus roxellana） is characterized by large multilevel societies （MLS） comprised of several OMUs and all-male units （AMUs）; however, the factors and mechanisms associated with resident male takeover, which offer important insight into primate reproduction and social strategies, are still poorly understood. Based on 5-year monitoring data from a free-ranging herd of golden monkeys from the Qinling Mountains in China, we categorized three phases of an OMU, that is, a rising phase, developing phase, and declining phase. The rising and declining phases were unstable periods in which male takeover in an OMU might occur. Factors causing takeover, such as leader male rank, fighting ability, reproduction rate, and affiliation （proximity, allogrooming）, were analyzed for males and females and for different OMUs. Results indicated that the new resident male＇s fighting ability was lower than that of the former resident male in 23 cases. After replacement, the rank order of the new resident male significantly declined. Females involved in a takeover increased their distance from the resident male and decreased mating frequency during the three months prior to takeover. Females with infants under one-year-old had a marked effect on the specific time of takeover occurrence. These results suggested that female choice was the main factor deciding whether a takeover attempt was successful. Furthermore, rather than male conflict, females more often initiated and affected takeover and outcome, implying that the social status and competitive ability of the males played lesser roles during takeover.

Chinese soft-shelled turtles （Trionyx sinens） in culture farms using an artificial warming system in Zhejiang, China, often show typical signs of white-spot disease such as white spots on their bodies, skin lesions, anorexia and eventually death. The sick turtles were mostly 5-80 g in weight. A suspected fungal pathogen was isolated from the sick turtles and verified as Paecilomyces lilacinus by sequence analysis of the internal transcribed spacer （ITS） of its ribosomal DNA （rDNA）. Detailed morphological examinations were also conducted to confirm the white-spot disease.

BACKGROUND Endoscopic papillectomy(EP)is rapidly replacing traditional surgical resection and is a less invasive procedure for the treatment of duodenal papillary tumors in selected *** the expansion of indications,concerns regarding EP include not only technical difficulties,but also the risk of complications,especially delayed duodenal *** perforation after EP is a rare but fatal *** of the artificial ulcer to bile and pancreatic juice is considered to be one of the causes of delayed perforation after *** bile and pancreatic juice away from the wound may help to prevent delayed *** To evaluate the feasibility and safety of placing overlength biliary and pancreatic stents after *** This is a single-center,retrospective *** patients with exposure or injury of the muscularis propria after EP were included.A 7-Fr overlength biliary stent and a 7-Fr overlength pancreatic stent,modified by an endoscopic nasobiliary drainage tube,were placed in the common bile duct and pancreatic duct,respectively,and the bile and pancreatic juice were drained to the proximal *** EP and overlength stents placement were technically feasible in all five patients(63±12 years),with an average operative time of 63.0±5.6 *** the five lesions(median size 20 mm,range 15-35 mm),four achieved en bloc excision and curative *** final histopathological diagnoses of the endoscopic specimen were one tubular adenoma with high-grade dysplasia(HGD),one tubulovillous adenoma with low-grade dysplasia,one hamartomatous polyp with HGD,one poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma and one atypical juvenile polyposis with tubulovillous adenoma,HGD and field cancerization invading the muscularis mucosae and *** were no stent-related complications,but one papillectomy-related complication(mild acute pancreatitis)occurred without any episodes of bleeding,perforation,cholangitis or late-onset duct stenosis.
