A method of combining Green’s function retrieval theory and ultrasonic array imaging using Lamb waves is presented to solve near filed defects in thin aluminum *** defects are close to the ultrasonic phased array and satisfy the near field calculation *** field acoustic information of defects is obscured by the nonlinear effects of initial wave signal in a directly acquired response using the full matrix capture mode.A reconstructed full matrix of inter-element responses is produced from cross-correlation of directly received ultrasonic signals between sensor *** new matrix eliminates the nonlinear interference and restores the near-field defect *** topological imaging method that was developed in recent ultrasonic inspection is used for displaying the *** experiments are conducted on both thin aluminum plates containing two and four defects, *** results show that these defects are clearly identified when using a reconstructed full *** spatial resolution is equal to about one wavelength of the selectively excited mode and the identifiable defect is about one fifth of the ***, in a conventional directly captured image,the images of defects overlap together and cannot be *** proposed method reduces the background noise and allows for effective topological imaging of near field defects.

Income inequality is widespread in human society and has important implications for human ***’s perception of the environment bridges income inequality and individual behavioral *** research suggests that social income inequality is usually biased,either overestimated or ***,such phenomena have not been fully explored with quantitive prove,especially in the working environment based on performance data of actual *** fact,the correct perception of people is the basis of a fair environment for their production ***,the perception bias may weaken the adaptability and competitiveness of a company in the *** paper first confirms the prevalence of individual perception bias of income inequality within the working environment based on actual production *** results show that people tend to underestimate income inequity around them,and this underestimation grows with the real unfairness of the working ***,this paper proposes a network generation-based framework with a three-layer structure to correct perception bias using a cooperative network reengineering *** the framework,a homophily-based generative network model is proposed as the key *** simulation results show that our proposed framework effectively reduces individuals’perception bias of income inequality.

The formation of multiple oxygen intermediates supporting efficient oxygen evolution reaction(OER)are affinitive with hydroxyl ***,ability of the catalyst to capture hydroxyl and maintain the continuous supply at active sits remains a tremendous ***,an affordable Ni2P/FeP2 heterostructure is presented to form the internal polarization field(IPF),arising hydroxyl spillover(HOSo)during *** by IPF,the oriented HOSo from FeP2 to Ni2P can activate the Ni site with a new hydroxyl transmission channel and build the optimized reaction path of oxygen intermediates for lower adsorption energy,boosting the OER activity(242 mV *** at 100 mA cm-2)for least 100 *** interestingly,for the anion exchange membrane water electrolyzer(AEMWE)with low concentration electrolyte,the advantage of HOSo effect is significantly amplified,delivering 1 A cm^(-2)at a low cell voltage of 1.88 V with excellent stability for over 50 h.

Extremely small-sized iron oxide nanoparticles(IONPs) are of great interest in magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) due to their biosafety as an alternative to clinical gadolinium(Ⅲ) complexes-based contrast *** when the particle size is less than 10 nm,it has strong diffusion ability and deep penetration distance in tumor *** doping can significantly enhance the T_(1)contrast effect of nanoparticles by regulating the surface exposed ***,the nucleation and growth processes of multi-component synthesis systems are complex and difficult to be accurately controlled,leading to great challenges in the synthesis of ultra-small-sized nanoparticles with different components and ***,extremely smallsized superparamagnetic gadolinium-doped iron oxide nanoparticles(GdIONPs,Gd_(x)Fe_(3-x)O_(4) NPs) with adjustable doping amount and controllable size in the range of 3.5-7.5 nm were synthesized by thermal ***,as-synthesized GdIONPs were surface modified with a highly water-soluble and biocompatible carboxyl-polyethylene glycol-phosphoric acid ligand with high binding ***_(0.65)Fe_(2.35)O_(4) NPs exhibited very high r_(1) relaxivity of 10.6 mmol^(-1)·L·s^(-1) in terms of all metal concentrations and 49.0 mmol^(-1)·L·s^(-1) in terms of gadolinium alone,respectively,3 and 14 times higher than clinical T_(1) contrast agents(Gd-DTPA).GdIONPs can continuously obtain high resolution images of blood vessels,and can be used as an efficient and multifunctional contrast agent for MR T_(1)*** stable and efficient doping strategy provides an easy and effective method to individually optimize the magnetic properties of complex oxides and their relaxation effects for a variety of biomedical applications.

The prevalence of hyperlipidemia has increased significantly due to genetic, dietary, nutritional and pharmacological factors, and has become one of the most common pathological conditions in humans. Hyperlipidemia can lead to a range of diseases such as atherosclerosis, stroke, coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, diabetes, and kidney failure, etc. High circulating low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is one of the causes of hyperlipidemia. LDL-C in the blood binds to LDL receptor (LDLR) and regulates cholesterol homeostasis through endocytosis. In contrast, proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) mediates LDLR degradation via the intracellular and extracellular pathways, leading to hyperlipidemia. Targeting PCSK9-synthesizing transcription factors and downstream molecules are important for development of new lipid-lowering drugs. Clinical trials regarding PCSK9 inhibitors have demonstrated a reduction in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease events. The purpose of this review was to explore the target and mechanism of intracellular and extracellular pathways in degradation of LDLR and related drugs by PCSK9 in order to open up a new pathway for the development of new lipid-lowering drugs.

Understanding the response of the Earth system to varying concentrations of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))is critical for projecting possible future climate change and for providing insight into mitigation and adaptation strategies in the near *** this study,we generate a dataset by conducting an experiment involving carbon dioxide removal(CDR)—a potential way to suppress global warming—using the Chinese Academy of Sciences Earth System Model version 2.0(CASESM2.0).A preliminary evaluation is *** model is integrated from 200–340 years as a 1%yr^(−1) CO_(2) concentration increase experiment,and then to~478 years as a carbon dioxide removal experiment until CO_(2) returns to its original ***,another 80 years is integrated in which CO_(2) is kept *** in the 2-m temperature,precipitation,sea surface temperature,ocean temperature,Atlantic meridional overturning circulation(AMOC),and sea surface height are all *** the ramp-up period,the global mean 2-m temperature and precipitation both increase while the AMOC *** of all the above variables change in the opposite direction in the ramp-down period,with a delayed peak relative to the CO_(2) *** CO_(2) returns to its original value,the global mean 2-m temperature is still~1 K higher than in the original state,and precipitation is~0.07 mm d^(–1) *** the end of the simulation,there is a~0.5°C increase in ocean temperature and a 1 Sv weakening of the *** model simulation produces similar results to those of comparable experiments previously reported in the literature.

Methanol is one of the characteristic gases that distinguish between healthy individuals and lung cancer(LC)lesions in exhaled human *** concentration in exhaled breath is generally below one part per million(1×10^(-6)).The second-phase composite is widely regarded as one of the methods to improve the gas-sensing perfor-mance of metal oxide semiconductor(MOS)*** this study,LaF_(3)-Co_(3)O_(4) was synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method to enhance its low-concentration methanol gas-sensing performance.5 at%LaF_(3)-Co_(3)O_(4) nanorods exhibited excellent methanol detection performance,including a wider linear detection concentration range(0.2×10^(-6)~5×10^(-6)),a response value exceeding 4.0 for 1×10^(-6)methanol at 275°C and 75%relative humidity(RH),long-term stability(maximum deviation within 15%over 2 weeks),and excellent *** mechanism of performance enhancement was studied using various techniques,and density functional *** special spinel structure of Co_(3)O_(4),the high ionic migration of F-in LaF_(3),the larger specific surface area of 5 at%LaF_(3)-Co_(3)O_(4) nanorods,and the generated crystal defects all explain the excellentmethanol gas-sensing *** work provides a novel route to prepare MOS composite materials for low-concentration methanol gas detection.

The addition of traditional carbon sources(e.g.,acetate)could favor heterotrophic overgrowth in partial denitrification coupled with anammox(PD–A)systems,thus hindering the performance and stability of this novel wastewater nitrogen removal ***,it is necessary to develop an effective,environmentally friendly,and inexpensive *** study demonstrated the potential of formate to enhance the performance and community stability of PD–A under mainstream *** a laboratory-scale biofilm reactor,formate addition(COD/NO_(3)^(–)–N=1.75)improved nitrogen removal efficiency(from 72.1±3.5%to 81.7±2.7%),EPS content(from 106.3±8.1 to 163.0±15.5 mg/gVSS)and increased anammox bacteria growth(predominantly Candidatus Brocadia,from 29.5±0.7%to 34.5±5.4%)while maintaining stable heterotrophs dominated by methylotrophic ***–NanoSIMS revealed a formate uptake using *** and Desulfobacillus,with *** being the major contributor to partial nitrate reduction to *** can synthesize diverse hydrophobic amino acids and provide key nutrients for *** achieve comparable nitrogen removal,the cost of the formate-driven PD–A process should be 11.2%lower than that of *** results greatly enrich our understanding of C1 metabolism represented by formate in anammox communities and its application in the context of coupling partial denitrification–anammox toward enhanced nitrogen removal in global wastewater treatment systems.

Efficient electrocatalysts are vital to large-current hydrogen production in commercial water splitting for green energy ***,a novel heterophase engineering strategy is described to produce polymorphic CoSe_(2)*** composition of the electrocatalysts consisting of both cubic CoSe_(2)(c-CoSe_(2))and orthorhombic CoSe_(2)(o-CoSe_(2))phases can be controlled *** results demonstrate that junction-induced spin-state modulation of Co atoms enhances the adsorption of intermediates and accelerates charge transfer resulting in superior large-current hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)***,the CoSe_(2)based heterophase catalyst with the optimal c-CoSe_(2)content requires an overpotential of merely 240 mV to achieve 1,000 mA·cm^(-2)as well as a Tafel slope of 50.4 mV·dec^(-1).Furthermore,the electrocatalyst can maintain a large current density of 1,500 mA·cm^(-2)for over 320 h without *** results reveal the advantages and potential of heterophase junction engineering pertaining to design and fabrication of low-cost transition metal catalysts for large-current water splitting.

Arsenic materials have attracted great attention due to their unique ***,research concerning iron-arsenic(Fe-As) alloys is very scarce due to the volatility of As at low temperature and the high melting point of ***,a new Fe-As alloy was obtained by mechanical alloying(MA) followed by vacuum hot-pressed sintering(VHPS).Moreover,a systematic study was carried out on the microstructural evolution,phase composition,leaching toxicity of As,and physical and mechanical properties of Fe-As alloys with varying weight fractions of As(20%,25%,30%,35%,45%,55%,65%,and 75%).The results showed that pre-alloyed metallic powders(PAMPs) have a fine grain size and specific supersaturated solid solution after MA,which could effectively improve the mechanical properties of Fe-As alloys by VHPS.A high density(> 7.350 g·cm^(-3)),low toxicity,and excellent mechanical properties could be obtained for FeAs alloys sintered via VHPS by adding an appropriate amount of As,which is more valuable than commercial Fe-As *** Fe-25% As alloy with low toxicity and a relatively high density(7.635 g·cm^(-3)) provides an ultra-high compressive strength(1989.19 MPa),while the Fe-65% As alloy owns the maximum Vickers hardness(HVo.5 899.41).After leaching by the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure(TCLP),these alloys could still maintain good mechanical performance,and the strengthening mechanisms of Fe-As alloys before and after leaching were *** in the grain size,micro structure,and phase distribution induced significant differences in the compressive strength and hardness.
