We report on the solid-state synthesis and the strongly anisotropic transport properties of the ternary telluride TaNi_(2)Te_(3),whose three orthogonal resistivity coefficients exhibit a large ratio of 1.4:1:2294(14:1:2303) at 300 K(2 K),thereby demonstrating its quasi-one-dimensional(q1D) electronic *** Kohler’ s rule in different current/field configurations shows a moderate *** one dimensionality manifests itself in the needle-like shape of crystal,the large anisotropic resistivity and the flat Fermi surface normal to the chain ***,the first-principles calculations also provide evidence for the existence of the nontrivial topological carriers in this q1D *** calculation demonstrates that TaNi_(2)Te_(3) is a strong topological nontrivial material with topological indices(1;1 0 1) and its nontrivial topology is also evidenced from its bulk-surface *** study may therefore offer a new platform for engineering the topologically nontrivial phase in low-dimensional materials,in analogy to the recently discovered q1D topological TaNiTe_(5).

Background:The burden of kidney,bladder,and prostate cancers has changed in recent *** study aims to investigate the global and regional burden of,and attributable risk factors for genitourinary cancers during the past 30 ***:We extracted data of kidney,bladder,and prostate cancers from the Global Burden of Disease 2019 database,including incidence,mortality,disability-adjusted life-years(DALYs),and attributable risk factors from 1990 to *** annual percentage changes(EAPC)were calculated to assess the changes in age-standardized incidence rate,age-standardized mortality rate(ASMR),and age-standardized DALYs rate(ASDR).The associations between cancers burden and socio-demographic index(SDI)were also ***:Compared with 1990,the global incident cases in 2019 were higher by 154.78%,123.34%,and 169.11%for kidney,bladder,and prostate cancers,*** the 30-year study period,there was a downward trend in ASMR and ASDR for bladder cancer(EAPC=–0.68 and–0.83,respectively)and prostate cancer(EAPC=–0.75 and–0.71,respectively),but an upward trend for kidney cancer(EAPC=0.35 and 0.12,respectively).Regions and countries with higher SDI had higher incidence,mortality,and DALYs for all three types of *** burden of bladder and prostate cancers was mainly distributed among older men,whereas the burden of kidney cancer increased among middle-aged *** related mortality and DALYs decreased,but high body mass index(BMI)and high fasting plasma glucose(FPG)related mortality and DALYs increased among kidney,bladder,and prostate cancers during the study ***:Kidney,bladder,and prostate cancers remain major global public health challenges,but with distinct trend for different disease entity across different regions and socioeconomic *** proactive intervention strategies,at both the administrative and academic levels,based on the dynamic changes,are needed.

The evolution of high-frequency communication has accentuated the significance of controlling dielectric properties in polymer ***,it has been theorized that rigid molecular chains lead to lower dielectric ***,the validity of this proposition at high frequencies remains *** scrutinize the correlation between chain flexibility and dielectric properties,we synthesized six poly(ester imide)s(PEIs)with systematically varied molecular chain flexibilities by modifying the ester's substitution on the aromatic *** introduction of ester bonds bestowed all PEI films with a low dielectric dissipation factor(D_(f)),ranging from 0.0021 to 0.0038 at 10 GHz in dry *** dry D_(f)displayed a pattern consistent with volume polarizability(P/V).Unexpectedly,PI-mmm-T,featu ring the most flexible molecular chain,exhibited the lowest dielectric loss under both dry(0.0021@10 GHz)and hygroscopic(0.0029@10 GHz)***,the observed increase in D_(f)after humidity absorption suggests that the high dielectric loss of PEI in applications may be attributed to its hygroscopic *** simulations and characterization of the aggregation structure revealed that the smaller cavities within flexible molecular chains,after close stacking,impede the entry of water *** sacrificing high-temperature resistance,the precursor exhibited enhanced solubility properties and could be processed into high-quality *** research unveils new insights into the relationship between flexibility and highfrequency dielectric loss,offering innovative perspectives on synthesizing aromatic polymers with exceptional dielectric properties.

Effects of ultrasonic on morphologies of primary Mg2Si crystals in in-situ Mg2Si/A1 composite were investigated by metallographic microscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy. The results show that the mean grain size of primary MgESi crystals is refined from 150 to 20 μm by high intensity ultrasonic, and the morphologies of primary MgESi crystals are changed as well. Optical microscopy reveals that primary MgESi crystals without ultrasonic vibration exhibit coarse particles with cavities, in which eutectic structures grow. However, primary Mg2Si crystals with ultrasonic vibration appear fine grains without any cavity. Three-dimensional morphologies of primary Mg2Si without ultrasonic vibration display octahedron and tetrakaidecahedron with hopper-like hole in the crystals. After ultrasonic vibration, primary Mg2Si particles become solid crystals with rounded comers and edges.

The rational design of effective bifunctional electrocatalysts is of paramount importance for overall water-splitting technology in sustainable energy ***,bimetallic oxide catalysts(RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4))derived from Ru combined MOF-derivatives(MOF=metal-organic framework)were demonstrated effective for overall water splitting in an alkaline solution,owing to the combined merits such as the two-dimensional interconnected network structure,the synergetic coupling effects and increased chemical *** as-prepared RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4) only requires an overpotential of 260 mV for oxygen evolution and 75 mV for hydrogen evolution at 10 mA/cm^(2) in 1 M KOH solution;a low cell voltage of 1.54 V was required to reach the kinetic current density of 10 mA/cm^(2) for the water electrolysis when supporting on glass carbon electrode,and very good stability for 40 h was *** and theoretical results demonstrated the electronic structure optimization of bimetallic RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4) compared to the individual metal oxide,which promoted interface charges redistribution and the d-band center downshift,resulting in increased activity and stability for water-splitting *** work provides a feasible approach for developing bimetallic oxides for application in energy-relevant electrocatalysis reactions.

BACKGROUND: A safe and effective preservation solution is a precondition for liver transplantation, which is accepted as the radical treatment for patients with end- stage liver disease. The increasing use of marginal donors and non-heart beating donors as well as the establishment of a national organ allocation network call for better preservation. New preservation solutions like histidine- tryptophan-ketoglutarate (HTK) solution and Celsior solution have been introduced to liver preservation, and protective gene intervention and other modifications have also been investigated. In this article, we review recent advances in liver preservation solutions. DATA SOURCES: An English-language literature search was conducted using MEDLINE (1990-2005) on liver preservation solution, biliary complication, protective gene and other related subjects. RESULTS: Although the high viscosity of the University of Wisconsin (UW) solution proved harmful to the hepatic microcirculation, three solutions showed equivalent preservation effects. When the cold ischemia time was short, there were no significant differences among the three solutions in the incidence of biliary complications. So far, modifications of preservation solutions have achieved great success. Several types of protective genes like A20, Bcl-2, Bcl-XL and HO-1 were reported to have definite liver protective effects. The addition of other substrates like TNF-α antibody, tacrolimus (FK506) and fructose-1, 6-bisphosphate (FBP) can also improve the preservation effect. However, addition of insulin to UW solution is harmful to the graft. CONCLUSIONS: In centers with highly-developed transplantation techniques, HTK and Celsior solutions are acceptable in liver preservation. Protective genemodification and addition of substrates like TNF-α antibody, FK506 and FBP are prominent approaches to improve liver preservation.
