Characteristics,formation mechanism and stability of high internal phase emulsions stabilized by porcine plasma protein (PPP) / carrageenan (CG) hybrid particles

High internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) stabilized by nanoparticles based on biomacromolecules are challenging issues in recent ***,a newly developed HIPE was investigated by using heat-denatured porcine plasma protein (PPP) nanoparticles at pH 6.5 as emulsifier,and its emulsifying stability could be significantly enhanced by compounding carrageenan (CG).In the miscible system,PPP and CG formed hybrid particles through non-covalent interaction,and the sizes and zeta-potentials of the particles increased significantly along with addition of CG (from 0 to 0.7%,w/v),reached up to about 3.6 μm and −53 mV at 0.5% (w/v),*** weakened the ability of PPP to lower interfacial tension of oil/water (O/W),but increased the apparent viscosity of the *** results from CLSM,rheology and stability experiments indicated a significant increasing trend of the HIPEs stability and solid-like characteristics along with addition of *** with the controls including bovine serum albumin (BSA),BSA-CG and CG alone,PPP-CG hybrid particles had good performance in fabricating and stabilizing the *** work revealed the novel function of PPP as emulsifier of HIPEs and so offered the theoretical direction for application of PPP as a mass by-product,as well as an excellent HIPEs system for food,medicine and cosmetics fields.

Many different factors,such as species traits,socio-economic factors,geographical and environmental factors,can lead to specimen collection *** study aims to determine whether grassland specimen collection in China is preferred by species traits(i.e.,plant height,flowering and fruiting period),environmental range(i.e.,the temperature and precipitation range)and geographical range(i.e.,distribution range and altitudinal range).Ordinary least squares models and phylogenetic generalized linear mixed models were used to analyze the relationships between specimen number and the explanatory *** Forest models were then used to find the most parsimonious multivariate *** results showed that interannual variation in specimen number between 1900 and 2020 was *** number of these species in southeast China was notably lower than that in northwest *** range and geographical range of species had significant positive correlations with specimen *** addition,there were relatively weak but significant associations between specimen number and species trait(i.e.,plant height and flowering and fruiting period).Random Forest models indicated that distribution range was the most important variable,followed by flowering and fruiting period,and altitudinal *** findings suggest that future floristic surveys should pay more attention to species with small geographical range,narrow environmental range,short plant height,and short flowering and fruiting *** correction of specimen collection preference will also make the results of species distribution model,species evolution and other works based on specimen data more accurate.

In the context of the left-right twin Higgs model,we study single production of a𝑇-quark at the Large Hadron electron Collider based𝑒ep and γpcolliders,which proceed via the processes𝑒e+b𝑏→ˉveT and𝛾γp→W−*** the main decay mode𝑇T→Φ+b𝑏→tbbˉ,these two processes mainly transfer to the final states of 3b+l(e or μ)+missing Et and 3b𝑏+2l𝑙+missing𝐸𝑇,*** the electron energy𝐸Ee=500 GeV and photon energy𝐸Ep=7TeV,we find that the production rates can reach tens fb when the heavy𝑇−quark mass𝑚mt<600 GeV.A simple phenomenological analysis is also given for the decay modeT→W+b𝑏.Our numerical results show that the SM background can be reduced by applying a cut on the transverse momentum of the final𝑏b-quark and the invariant mass of ***,such a channel is only useful for a tiny parameter space.

Three test models and a simulation model were constructed based on the prevailing conditions of the Taiping coalmine in order to analyze pore pressure fluctuations of an overlying aquifer during residual coal mining. As well, the relation between pore pressure and soil stress was evaluated. The model tests show the vibrations of pore pressure and soil stress as a result of mining activities. The simulation model tells of the response characteristics of pore pressure after mining and its distribution in the sand aquifer. The comparative analysis reveals that pore pressure and soil stress vibration are activated by unexpected events occurring in mines, such as collapsing roofs. An increased pore pressure zone always lies above the wall in front or behind the working face of a mine. Both pore pressure and vertical stress result in increasing and decreasing processes during movements of the working face of a mine. The vibration of pore pressure always precedes soil stress in the same area and ends with a sharp decline. Changes in pore pressure of sand aquifer are limited to the area of stress changes. Obvious changes are largely located in a very small frame over the mining face.

Based on the quantization scheme of the radiation fields in the dispersive and absorptive magnetic media, the normally ordered correlation functions of the outgoing field through a metamaterial plate are obtained. Then the relative photon-number densities of the transmitted field, the reflected field and the absorbed field are gotten through the correlation functions. Furthermore, the contributions of the relative permittivity and permeability of the metamaterials to the transmission are analyzed. Our results show that the permittivity and permeability reinforce the transmission for frequencies that are big compared with the magnetic resonance frequency.

Background:The spring phenology and growth strategy of temperate tree species can be strongly linked to their sensitivity to frosts,which deserve more profound investigations under the background of climate warming particularly considering the advancement of spring phenology as well as the increase in frequency and intensity of spring cold ***:Spring phenologies,stem radial growth characteristics,frost sensitivity of leaves and stem hydraulic systems were studied in five diffuse-porous and five ring-porous temperate tree species under a common garden ***:The results showed that the spring leaf phenology of the diffuse-porous species was one to two weeks earlier than that of the ring-porous *** ring-porous species had significantly higher stem hydraulic conductivity than the diffuse-porous species(1.81 and 0.95 kg·m^(-1)·s^(-1)·MPa^(-1),P<0.05)but were more vulnerable to freeze-thaw induced xylem embolism than the *** a simulated freeze-thaw event,the average percentage loss of hydraulic conductivity in the current year shoots increased from 26.0%(native embolism)to 86.7%in the ring-porous species,while it only increased from 21.3%to 38.3%in the diffuse-porous *** spring phenology was clearly correlated with vulnerability to freeze-thaw induced embolism,with the more vulnerable ring-porous species exhibited substantially delayed phenology to reduce risks of catastrophic hydraulic dysfunction during spring ***,ring-porous species can offset the postponed onset of growth and gained even higher annual growth due to significantly higher hydraulic efficiency and leaf gas exchange ***:Contrasts between ring-porous and diffuse-porous species in resistance to freeze-thaw induced embolism suggest that they face different selective pressures from early spring frosts,which may at least be partially responsible for their divergence in spring phenology and growth strategy and can potentially lead to di

Inclusion variations of die steel H13, including changes of species, morphologies, compositions, amounts and sizes, in the production of EAF-LF--VD-ingot casting-electro slag refining （ESR） procedure, were investi- gated by systematic sampling, and analyzed with scanning electron microscope （SEM）, energy dispersive spectrum （EDS） , and metallographic microscope. The variation mechanism was studied by comprehensive analysis of total oxygen, nitrogen, and acid soluble aluminum as well as chemical test of refining slag. Based on the investigations, technical measures for cleanness improvement were discussed. The resuhs show that oxide inclusions in H13 steel change from irregular Al2O3- near globular CaO-MgO-Al2O3 and CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 complex inclusions-finer CaO- Al2O3-SiO2 inclusions with higher CaO content-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 inclusions with higher Al2O3 content and irregular MgO-AI203 inclusions--fine irregular MgO-Al2O3-CaS inclusions in various steps of the production; the variations are related with changes of acid soluble aluminum content, reactions between slag and steel, re-oxidation of liquid steel during casting, and refining of ESR. It is also found that Al2O3 inclusions are modified by refining slag in LF and VD refining~ and ESR plays a good role in inclusion removal, especially in controlling the large linear VC-CrC- MoC inclusions distributed in grain boundaries. It is suggested that casting protection should be improved, and the basicity of refining slag and acid soluble aluminum content in steel should be raised.

A genetic diversity assessment of starch quality traits in rice landraces from the Taihu basin,China

There are nearly 1 000 rice landrace varieties in the Taihu basin, China. To assess the genetic diversity of the rice, 24 intragenic molecular markers（representing 17 starch synthesis-related genes） were investigated in 115 Taihu basin rice landraces and 87 improved cultivars simultaneously. The results show that the average genetic diversity and polymorphism information content values of the landraces were higher than those of improved cultivars. In total, 41 and 39 allele combinations（of the 17 genes） were derived from the landraces and improved cultivars, respectively; only two identical allele combinations were found bet ween the two rice variety sources. Cluster analysis, based on the molecular markers, revealed that the rice varieties could be subdivided into five groups and, within these, the japonica improved rice and japonica landrace rice varieties were in two separate groups. According to the quality reference criteria to classify the rice into grades, some of the landraces were found to perform we ll, in terms of starch quality. For example, according to NY /T595-2002 criteria from the Ministry of Agriculture of China, 25 and 33 landraces reached grade 1, in terms of their apparent amylose content and gel consistency. Th e varieties that had outstanding quality could be used as breeding materials for rice quality breeding programs in the future. Our study is useful for future applications, such as genetic diversity studies, the protection of rice variety and improvment of rice quality in breeding programs.
