The Tianyu Cu-Ni sulfide deposit occurs in the north margin of the Central Tianshan Arc in East Tianshan orogenic belt, Xinjiang, NW China. The intrusions consist of gabbro, peridotite, and olivine pyroxenite. The peridotite and pyroxenite are the main host rock for the Cu-Ni ores. Rhenium and osmium isotopic analyses of Ni-and Cu-bearing sulfide minerals from the deposit have been used to determine the source of osmium, and by inference, the sources of ore metals. Sulfide ore samples have Os and Re concentrations varying in the ranges 1.85 to 4.58 ppb and 93.56 to 146.00 ppb, respectively. An initial ^(187)Os/^(188)Os ratio ranges from 0.86 to 1.23 for the ores and the γOs values from 592 to 2227. Osmium isotopic data suggest that the Tianyu intrusion and associated Cu-Ni mineralization has derived from crustal-contaminated mantle melts. The intrusions early show island-arc geochemical signatures, which indicate that the Hulu mafic–ultramafic intrusions, along with the Cu-Ni deposit, formed as a result of subduction of oceanic crust in the Early Permian.

Protein phosphorylation plays essential roles in various biological procedures. Despite the well-established enrichment strategies for O-phosphoproteomics, the intrinsic acid lability of N–P phosphoramidate bond(phosphorylation of histidine, arginine and lysine) has impaired the progress of N-phosphoproteomics. Herein, we reported a retention time difference combining dimethyl labeling(ReDD) strategy for the isolation and identification of phosphorylated lysine(pLys) peptides. By such a method, pLys peptide could be isolated under 100000-fold interference of non-phosphorylated peptides. Furthermore, ReDD strategy was applied to map pLys sites from E. coli samples, leading to the identification of 11 pLys sites, among which K26p that originating from autonomous glycyl radical cofactor was validated both in mass spectrometry and HPLC co-elution experiments. Furthermore, 112 pLys sites from 100 proteins were identified in HeLa cells. All these results demonstrate that ReDD could provide a first glimpse into Lys phosphorylation, and could be an important step toward the global perspective on protein phosphorylation.

Dissipative Kerr solitons(DKS) have long been suffering from poor power conversion efficiency when driven by continuous-wave lasers. By deriving the critical coupling condition of a multimode nonlinear optics system in a generalized theoretical framework,two efficiency limitations of the conventional pump method of DKS are revealed: the effective coupling rate is too small and is also power-dependent. A general approach is provided to resolve this challenge by introducing two types of nonlinear couplers to couple the soliton cavity and CW input through nonlinear processes. The collective coupler opens multiple coupling channels and the self-adaptive coupler builds a power-independent effective external coupling rate to the DKS for approaching the generalized critical coupling condition, which promises near-unity power conversion efficiencies. For instance, a conversion efficiency exceeding 90% is predicted for aluminum nitride microrings with a nonlinear coupler utilizing second-harmonic generation. The mechanism applies to various nonlinear processes, including Raman and Brillouin scattering, and thus paves the way for micro-solitons toward practical applications.

Straw layer burial to alleviate salt stress in silty loam soils: Impacts of straw forms

Salt stress can be alleviated by straw layer burial in the soil, but little is known of the appropriate form of the straw layer for optimal regulation of soil water and salinity because of the uncontrollability of field tests. Here, the following four straw forms with compaction thickness of 5 cm buried 40–45 deep were studied: no straw layer(CK), segmented straw(SL, 5 cm in length), straw pellet(SK), and straw powder(SF). The three straw forms(SL, SK and SF) significantly delayed the infiltration of irrigation water down the column profile by 71.20–134.3 h relative to CK and the migration velocity of the wetting front under SF was the slowest. It took longer for the wetting front to transcend SK than SL but shorter for it to reach the bottom of soil column after water crossed the straw layer. Compared with CK, the average volumetric water content in the 0–40 cm soil layer increased by 6.45% under SL, 1.77% under SK and 5.39% under SF. The desalination rates at the 0–40 and 0–100 cm soil layers increased by 5.85 and 3.76% under SL, 6.64 and 1.47% under SK and 5.97 and 4.82% under SF. However, there was no significant difference among straw forms in the 0–40 cm soil layer. Furthermore, the salt leaching efficiency(SLE, g mm^–1 h^–1) above the 40 cm layer under SL was 0.0097, being significantly higher than that under SF(0.0071) by 37.23%. Salt storage under SL, SK and SF in the 40–45 cm layer accounted for 4.50, 16.92 and 7.43% of total storage in the 1-m column profile. Cumulative evaporation under SL and SF decreased significantly by 41.20 and 49.00%, with both treatments having the most significant inhibition of salt accumulation(resalinization rate being 36.06 and 47.15% lower than CK) in the 0–40 cm soil layer. In conclusion, the different forms of straw layers have desalting effects under high irrigation level(446 mm). In particular, SL and SF performed better than SK in promoting deep salt leaching and inhibiting salt accumulation on the soil surface. However,

During conventional chemotherapy for cancer, nonspecific drug distribution, which causes serious side effects in normal tissues, is a serious limitation. Thus, it is desirable to develop a tumor or intracellular microenvironment-responsive nanosystem for targeted and on-demand drug release. In the present study, we engineered an intelligent pH-activatable nanosystem, in which a gadolinium- doxorubicin-loaded nanoscale coordination polymer （Gd-Dox NCPs） was the core and hyaluronic acid was the targeting shell. Taking advantage of CD44 receptor-mediated recognition, the nanoparticles were internalized selectively into human cervical carcinoma （HeLa） cells, and trapped within acidic compartments where the fluorescence of Dox recovered, along with the acid dismantling of the Gd NCPs, allowing real-time monitoring of drug release. In vitro experiments also showed that the Gd NCPs present enhanced T1 signals after acid-triggered degradation, suggesting their potential use as contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging. Such nanocarriers, which feature high biodegradation, selective targeting ability, and rapid response to stimulus, demonstrated enhanced therapeutic efficacy in targeted cancer cells and ＂turned on＂T1 signals in vitro, showing great promise for diagnosis and treatment.

In order to identify the potential nephrotoxic compounds in traditional Chinese medicine Lithospermum erythrorhizon,it was separated into serial fractions according to their *** in vitro method was utilized to determine the nephrotoxicity of these fractions with the help of fluorescence image *** a result,the primary fraction A05 and its secondary fractions C06 ＂C09 and C12 ＂C14 were found to have significant toxicity to LLC-PK1 cell line,as determined by the survive rate less than 20% after they were treated with these *** potential nephrotoxic fractions were further analyzed by multistage and high resolution mass *** main compounds in these fractions were tentatively identified to be acetylshikonin,isobutyrylshikonin,β,β＇-dimethyla-cryloylshikonin,and isovalerylshikonin,which may bring nephrotoxicity.

Taking the intrinsic decoherence effect into account, the entanglement ofa two-qubit anisotropic Heisenberg XYZ chain in the presence of the Dzyaloshinski Moriya （DM） anisotropic antisymetric interaction is investigated in this paper. Concurrence, the measurement of entanglement, is calculated. Compared with the anisotropic in XY plane, the DM interaction is another kind of anisotropic antisymmetrie exchange interaction. It is shown that the intrinsic decoherence obviously suppresses the time evolution of the entanglement. The DM interaction only acts on the time evolution of the entanglement when the initial state is [ψ（0）〉 = cosα｜01〉＋ sinα｜10〉 and weakens the degree of entanglement. The anisotropic in XY plane merely impacts on the time evolution of the entanglement when the system ＆ initially in a state ｜ψ（0）〉 = cos α｜00〉＋ sin α｜11 〉. The sufficiently weak anisotropic in XY plane can effectively enhance the degree of entanglement.

We have investigated the feasibility of administration of testosterone undecanoate （TU）-Ioaded injectable in situ-forming implant （ISFI） for contraception in adult male Sprague-Dawley rats. Male rats were treated with vehicle, TU-Ioaded ISFIs （540, 270 and 135 mg TU kg-1） or TU injections （45 mg TU kg-1 every 30 days） for 120 days. Fertility tests served for determining infertility or restoration of fertility in treated rats. Serum testosterone concentration, epididymal sperm count, motility, morphology, and histology of the testis were monitored. The TU-Ioaded ISFIs increased serum testosterone levels in rats steadily without fluctuation over 3 months. One month after TU administration, the epididymal sperm count decreased significantly in all experimental groups. After 3 months, the animals treated with 270 and 135 mg kg-~ TU-Ioaded ISFIs were 100% infertile, and no implantation sites were produced in the mated females. However, some of males treated with 540 mg kg-~ ISFI or TU injections were still fertile but numbers of implantation sites were also significantly lower than control values. TU-Ioaded ISFI at an appropriate dose has potential as a long-acting male contraceptive drug that suppresses spermatogenesis consistently over a period of 3 months.

This paper studied the mechanism of the alkene insertion elementary step in the asymmetric hydroformylation （AHF） catalyzed by RhH（CO）2[（R,S）-Yanphos] using four alkene substrates （CH2=CH- Ph, CH2=CH-Ph-（p）-Me, CH2=CH-C（==O）OCH3 and CH2=CH-OC（=O）-Ph, abbreviated as A1-A4）. Interestingly, the equatorial vertical coordination mode （A mode） with respect to the Rh center was found for AI and A2 but not for A3 and A4, although the equatorial in-plane coordination mode （E mode） was found for A1 -A4. The relative energy of the E mode of the -q2-intermediates is lower than that of the A mode. In the alkene insertion step, Path 1 is more favorable than Path 2 for this system. As for AI and A2, there could be a transformation between 2eq and 2ax.
