The amyloid-β(Aβ)oligomer,rather than the Aβmonomer,is considered to be the primary initiator of Alzheimer’s *** was hypothesized that p(Aβ3-10)10-MT,the recombinant Aβ3-10 gene vaccine of the Aβoligomer has the potential to treat Alzheimer’s *** this study,we intramuscularly injected the p(Aβ3-10)10-MT vaccine into the left hindlimb of APP/PS1/tau triple-transgenic mice,which are a model for Alzheimer’s *** results showed that the p(Aβ3-10)10-MT vaccine effectively reduced Aβoligomer levels and plaque deposition in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus,decreased the levels tau protein variants,reduced synaptic loss,protected synaptic function,reduced neuron loss,and ameliorated memory impairment without causing any cerebral ***,this novel DNA vaccine,which is safe and highly effective in mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease,holds a lot of promise for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease in humans.

The thermal decomposition behavior of composite modified double-base（CMDB） propellant containing cyclotrimethylene trinitramine（RDX） was studied via a Calvet microcalorimeter at five different heating rates. The activation energy（E） and the pre-exponential factor（A） of two obvious exothermic processes were obtained by Kissinger＇s method and Ozawa＇s method. The entropy of activation（△S^≠）, the enthalpy of activation（△H^≠）, and the free energy of activation（△G^≠） of the first stage were calculated. To evaluate the thermal hazard of the RDX-CMDB propellant, the critical temperature of thermal explosion（Tb）, the self acceleration decomposition temperature（Tsgox）, the adiabatic decomposition temperature increment（ATad） and the time-to-explosion of adiabatic system（t） were presented as 145.3 ℃, 138.15 ℃, 1634 K and 583.71 s（n=0） and 586.28 s（n=1）, respectively.

Photocatalytic H_(2) evolution from seawater splitting presents a promising approach to tackle the fossil energy crisis and mitigate carbon emission due to the abundant source of seawater and sunlight on the ***,the development of efficient photocatalysts for seawater splitting remains a formidable ***,a 2D/2D ZnIn_(2)S_(4)/WO_(3)(ZIS/WO_(3))heterojunction nanostructure is fabricated to efficiently separate the photoinduced carriers by steering electron transfer from the conduction band minimum of WO_(3) to the valence band maximum of ZIS via constructing internal electric ***,plasmonic Au nanoparticles(NPs)as a novel photosensitizer and a reduction cocatalyst are anchored on ZIS/WO_(3) surface to further enhance the optical absorption of ZIS/WO_(3) heterojunction and accelerate the catalytic *** obtained Au/ZIS/WO_(3) photocatalyst exhibits an outstanding H_(2) evolution rate of 2610.6 or 3566.3μmol g^(-1)h~(-1)from seawater splitting under visible or full-spectrum light irradiation,*** rates represent an impressive increase of approximately 7.3-and 6,6-fold compared to those of ZIS under the illumination of the same light *** unique 2D/2D structure,internal electric field,and plasmonic metal modification together boost the photocatalytic H_(2) evolution rate of Au/ZIS/WO_(3),making it even comparable to H_(2) evolution from pure water *** present work sheds light on the development of efficient photocatalysts for seawater splitting.

In this study,we present an organic field-effect transistor floating-gate memory using polysilicon(poly-Si)as a charge trapping *** memory device is fabricated on a N^+-Si/SiO2 ***-Si,polymethylmethacrylate,and pentacene are used as a floating-gate layer,tunneling layer,and active layer,*** device shows bidirectional storage characteristics under the action of programming/erasing(P/E)operation due to the supplied electrons and holes in the channel and the bidirectional charge trapping characteristic of the poly-Si *** carrier mobility and switching current ratio(Ion/Ioff ratio)of the device with a tunneling layer thickness of 85 nm are 0.01 cm^2·V^-1·s^-1 and 102,respectively.A large memory window of 9.28 V can be obtained under a P/E voltage of±60 V.

Ultimate Government Control Structures and Firm Value:Evidence from Chinese Listed Companies

We show that 70% of Chinese listed companies are ultimately controlled by government agencies, thereby indicating that state ownership remains widespread in China's stock markets. Three questions are considered that are related to government control structures and their impact on firm value:(1) how do government agencies maintain their control of listed companies;(2) what are the impacts of different government control structures on firm value; and(3) are these impacts different in local government and central government-controlled firms? We find that the Chinese government controls listed companies directly or indirectly through solely state-owned enterprises(SSOEs). Taking into account the trade-off between political and agency costs, we show that firm value increases when some control rights are decentralized from the government to state-owned enterprises(SOEs). Moreover, decentralization improves significantly the performance of local government- controlled, but not central government-controlled firms.

BACKGROUND: To invent a novel cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) time point recorder to synchronously and automatically record the time and to identify its effectiveness in ***: A CPR time point recorder was invented after the doctors were familiar with the traditional Utstein recovery registration mode and mastered the registration time points required. The progress of CPR was simulated. The standard and correct times were recorded, and the doctors performing the recovery collected the data about the times using our CPR time point recorder or the memory registration ***: The deviation times were 21.4±24.7 seconds for the memory group and 3.57±4.58 seconds for CPR time point recorder group. The deviation of times increased signifi cantly depending on the increase of the operation items in the memory group. A similar phenomenon was found in the timer group but with a smaller difference(P<0.01).CONCLUSION: A CPR time point recorder could reduce the deviation of operate-time, especially after a long-time operation, and for procedures with more operating items, compared with the memory mode. It was a more advantageous and accurate method for the Utstein registration.

Van der Waals heterostructures(vdWHs)realized by vertically stacking of different two-dimensional(2D)materials are a promising candidate for tunneling devices because of their atomically clean and lattice mismatch-free interfaces in which different layers are separated by the vdW *** gaps can provide an ideal electric modulation environment on the vdWH band structures and,on the other hand,can also impede the electron tunneling behavior because of large tunneling ***,through first-principles calculations,we find that the electrically modulated tunneling behavior is immune to the interlayer interaction,keeping a direct band-to-band tunneling manner even the vdWHs have been varied to the indirect semiconductor,which means that the tunneling probability can be promoted through the vdW gap *** transition metal dichalcogenide heterostructures as examples and normal strains as the gap reducing strategy,a maximum shrinking of 33%is achieved without changing the direct tunneling manner,resulting in a tunneling probability promotion of more than 45 ***,the enhanced interlayer interaction by the strains will boost the stability of the vdWHs at the lateral direction,preventing the interlayer displacement *** is expected that our findings provide perspectives in improving the electric behaviors of the vdWH devices.
