The impedance matching of absorbers is a vital factor affecting their microwave absorption(MA)*** this work,we controllably synthesized Material of Institute Lavoisier 88C(MIL-88C)with varying aspect ratios(AR)as a precursor by regulating oil bath conditions,followed by one-step thermal decomposition to obtain carbon-coated iron-based *** the precursor MIL-88C(Fe)preparation conditions,such as the molar ratio between metal ions and organic ligands(M/O),oil bath temperature,and oil bath time,influenced the phases,graphitization degree,and AR of the derivatives,enabling low filler loading,achieving well-matched impedance,and ensuring outstanding MA *** MOF-derivatives 2(MD_(2))/polyvinylidene Difluoride(PVDF),MD_(3)/PVDF,and MD4/PVDF absorbers all exhibited excellent MA properties with optimal filler loadings below 20 wt%and as low as 5 wt%.The MD_(2)/PVDF(5 wt%)achieved a maximum effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 5.52 GHz(1.90 mm).The MD_(3)/PVDF(10 wt%)possessed a minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))value of−67.4 at 12.56 GHz(2.13 mm).A symmetric gradient honeycomb structure(SGHS)was constructed utilizing the high-frequency structure simulator(HFSS)to further extend the EAB,achieving an EAB of 14.6 GHz and a RL_(min) of−59.0 *** research offers a viable inspiration to creating structures or materials with high-efficiency MA properties.

Covering corneal stromal lenticule for macular hole in pathological myopia

AIM:To evaluate the clinical effect of a new surgery technique(covering corneal stromal lenticule,CSL)for macular hole(MH)in pathological ***:This was a prospective non-randomized series case *** eyes of 14 patients whose axial length were more than 29 mm and suffered from MH and macular hole retinal detachment(MHRD)were included in this *** cases were treated with 25-gauge pars plana vitrectomy(PPV)with internal limiting membrane(ILM)peeling,covering CSL and C_(3)F_(8) gas *** cases were followed for 6mo,and the best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),healing status of MH,the reattached rate of retinal detachment(RD),and reoperation rate were ***:All cases were successfully performed the surgery and the postoperative follow-up was *** surgery,MHs were healed in all 14 eyes(100%,14/14)after assessed by optical coherence *** reattachment of retina was achieved in all 6 eyes(100%,6/6)with *** was improved in 12 eyes(85.71%,12/14),and had no significant change in 2 eyes(14.29%,2/14).The overall mean BCVA was improved from 1.80±0.77 to 0.82±0.46 logMAR(F=10.46,P<0.01).No serious complications occurred in all ***:The new surgery technique(covering CSL)has high reattached rate of RD and high healing rate of MH in pathological myopia in the preliminary *** it can effectively improve the visual function of *** new technique offers meaningful new ideas for treating refractory MH in pathological myopia.

Porous carbon polyhedrons coupled with bimetallic CoNi alloys for frequency selective wave absorption at ultralow filler loading

Combining suitable microstructure and dielectric-magnetic synergy effect is conducive to achieve lightweight,broadband,and high-efficiency microwave absorbing materials within low filler ***,porous carbon polyhedrons coupled with bimetallic CoNi alloys were synthesized by using metalorganic frameworks(MOFs)as a template and subsequent pyrolysis *** analysis indicated that the existence of metal Ni element could influence the wave attenuation capacity effectively,resulting in frequency selective wave absorption ***,the pyrolysis temperature was also closely related to wave absorption *** Co_(2)Ni_(1)/C/PVDF composites calcined at 800℃ possessed outstanding wave absorption performance at an ultra-low filler loading of 5 wt%.The minimum reflection loss value achieved-52 dB(10.8 GHz)under the matched thickness of 3 ***,the broadest effective absorption bandwidth(RL<-10 dB)reached 6.2 dB(11.8-18 GHz)for Co/C-800/PVDF composites when the thickness turned into 2 *** remarkable wave attenuation ability was mainly ascribed to magnetic and dielectric loss,impedance matching as well as porous structure effect.

A novel male-specific SET domain-containing gene setdm identified from extra microchromosomes of gibel carp males

Various genes have been screened on extra chromosomes, but their molecular characterization, expression pattern and biological function are still unclear. Here, we utilized a male-specific sequence of polyploid gibel carp （Carassius gibelio） to identify a novel male-specific SET （Su（var）3-9, Enhancer- of-zeste, Trithorax） domain-containing gene setdm on extra microchromosomes of gibel carp males. And setdm was characterized in molecule and expression aspects, in which its expression was specific to testis, and had relative high transcription during middle/late stages of testis development. Moreover, prominent expression of Setdm in spermatogenic cells was observed in testis through immunofluorescence co-localization analysis. These results suggest that biological function of setdrn might be related to testis development and spermatogenesis of gibel carp. Additionally, the homeologous gene setdmf of setdm, was also characterized, and its expression was gonad-specific, in which its expressed product was detected to mainly distribute in gametogenic cells of testis and ovary, and to have dynamic expression pattern similar to that of setdm. Based on the current results, we propose that the novel male-specific setdm on extra microchromosomes might be functional divergence gene of the gonad-specific setdmf. Therefore, these findings will help us to further understand evolutionary fate and functional role of genes on extra microchromosomes.

In insects,20-hydroxyecdysone(20E)and insulin-like growth factor-like peptides(IGFLPs)regulate the development o f imaginal ***,how IGFLPs are up-regulated to impact the development of the pupal wing disc is still *** this study,we investigated the expression regulation of IGFLP in the pupal wing disc of silkworm,Bombyx *** confirmed that *** IGFLP(BmIGFLP)was mainly expressed in the pupal wing disc and the expression of BmIGFLP could be significantly induced by *** analysis of BmIGFLP promoter sequence revealed three m-regulation elements(CREs)of signal transducer and activator of transcription(STAT),which is a key component in the Janus-activated kinase/STAT *** activity assays showed that two CREs enhanced the transcriptional activity o f *** mobility shift and chromatin immunoprecipitation assays demonstrated that BmSTAT proteins in the nuclear extracts o f *** pupal wing discs and BmN cells could only bind to the STAT CRE3,indicating that STAT CRE3 activated by BmSTAT enhances BmIGFLP expression at pupal *** 20E could not enhance the expression of BmSTAT,20E enhanced the nucleus translocation o f BmSTAT to bind with the STAT CRE3 in the BmIGFLP *** increase of transcriptional activity of the STAT CRE3 by overexpression of BmSTAT and addition o f 20E in BmN cells confirmed this *** together,all data indicate that BmSTAT is one o f the transcription factors activating 20E-induced BmIGFLP expression in the pupal wing disc.

Upregulation of the PPAR signaling pathway and accumulation of lipids are related to the morphological and structural transformation of the dragon-eye goldfish eye

Goldfish comprise around 300 different strains with drastically altered and aesthetical morphologies making them suitable models for evolutionary developmental *** dragon-eye strain is characterized by protruding eyes(analogous to those of Chinese dragons).Although the strain has been selected for about 400 years,the mechanism of its eye development remains *** this study,a stable dragon-eye goldfish strain with a clear genetic background was rapidly established and *** found that upregulation of the PPAR signaling pathway accompanied by an increase in lipid accumulation might trigger the morphological and structural transformation of the eye in dragon-eye *** the developmental stage of proptosis(eye protrusion),downregulation of the phototransduction pathway was consistent with the structural defects and myopia of the dragon-eye *** the impairment of retinal development,cytokine-induced inflammation was activated,especially after proptosis,similar to the pathologic symptoms of many human ocular *** addition,differentially expressed transcription factors were significantly enriched in the PAX and homeobox families,two well-known transcription factor families involved in eye ***,our findings reveal the dynamic changes in key pathways during eye development in dragon-eye goldfish,and provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying drastically altered eyes in goldfish and human ocular disease.

TSPAN1 protein expression:A significant prognostic indicator for patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma

AIM:To determine if TSPAN1 overexpression is associated with clinicopathological and prognostic factors in human colorectal ***:Total RNA was extracted in 20 human adenocarcinoma tissues for TSPAN1 mRNA assay by ***-eight specimens of human colorectal adenocarcinoma were surgically ***1 protein levels in cancer tissues were determined by immunohistochemistry using a polyclonal antibody against self-prepared *** correlation between TSPAN1 expression and the clinicopathological factors and the overall survival rate was analyzed by univariate and multivariate ***:TSPAN1 mRNA was detected in 90.0%(18/20) of cancerous *** light density of TSPAN1 mRNA expression levels was 0.89 ± 0.30 in adenocarcinoma by gel-image ***1 protein expression was detected in 78.41%(69/88) and weakly expressed in 40% normal colorectal *** were significant differences between colorectal adenocarcinoma and normal control epithelium(P < 0.05).TSPAN1 protein expression in colorectal cancerous tissue was significantly correlated with the histological grade,cell expression PCNA,lymph nodal metastasis and TNM staging of the *** with TSPAN1 protein overexpression had a significantly shorter survival period than that in patients with TSPAN1 protein negative or weak expression,respectively(P < 0.05).Furthermore,by multivariate analysis,TSPAN1 protein expression demonstrated an independent prognostic factor for human colorectal cancers(P < 0.05,relative risk 0.755;95% confidence interval 0.302-1.208).CONCLUSION:The expression of TSPAN1 gene is increased in colorectal carcinoma,suggesting that TSPAN1 might serve as an independent prognostic factor for the colorectal adenocarcinoma patients.

Goldfish(Carassius auratus) have long fascinated evolutionary biologists and geneticists because of their diverse morphological and color *** genome-wide association studies have provided a clue to uncover genomic basis underlying these phenotypic variations,but the causality between phenotypic and genotypic variations have not yet been ***,we edited proposed candidate genes to recreate phenotypic traits and developed a rapid biotechnology approach which combines gene editing with high-efficiency breeding,artificial gynogenesis,and temperature-induced sex reversal to establish homozygous mutants within two generations(approximately eight months).We first verified that low-density lipoprotein receptorrelated protein 2B(lrp2a B) is the causal gene for the dragon-eye variation and recreated the dragon-eye phenotype in side-view Pleated-skirt Lion-head ***,we demonstrated that the albino phenotype was determined by both homeologs of oculocutaneous albinism type II(oca2),which has subfunctionalized to differentially govern melanogenesis in the goldfish body surface and ***,we determined two causal genes for dragon-eye and albino phenotypes,and created four stable homozygous strains and more appealing goldfish with desirable *** developed biotechnology approach facilitates precise genetic breeding,which will accelerate re-domestication and recreation of phenotypically desirable goldfish.
