Effic.ent w.lking is one of the main goals of researc.es on biped robots. A feasible w.y is to translate the understanding from human w.lking into robot w.lking, for example, an artific.al c.ntrol approac. on a human like w.lking struc.ure. In this paper, a w.lking pattern based on c.nter of Pressure （c.P） sw.tc.ed and modeled after human w.lking is introduc.d firstly. Then, a parameterization method for the proposed w.lking gait is presented. In view.of the c.mplic.tion, a multi-spac. planning method w.ic. divides the w.ole planning task into three sub-spac.s, inc.uding simplified model spac., w.rk spac. and joint spac., is proposed. Furthermore, a finite-state-based c.ntrol method is also developed to implement the proposed w.lking pattern. The state sw.tc.es of this method are driven by sensor events. For c.nvinc.ng verific.tion, a 2D simulation system w.th a 9-1ink planar biped robot is developed. The simulation results exhibit an effic.ent w.lking gait.

Nonlinear three-dimensional vibration of axially moving strings is investigated in the view.of energetic.. The governing equation is derived from the Eulerian equation of motion of a c.ntinuum for axially ac.elerating strings. The time-rate of the total mec.anic.l energy assoc.ated w.th the vibration is c.lc.lated for the string w.th its ends moving in a presc.ibed w.y. For a string moving in a c.nstant axial speed and c.nstrained by tw. fixed ends, a c.nserved quantity is proved to remain unc.anged during three-dimensional vibration, w.ile the string energy is not c.nserved. An approximate c.nserved quantity is derived from the c.nserved quantity in the neighborhood of the straight equilibrium c.nfiguration. The approximate c.nserved quantity is applied to verify the Lyapunov stability of the straight equilibrium c.nfiguration. Numeric.l simulations are performed for a rubber string and a steel string. The results demonstrate the variation of the total mec.anic.l energy and the invarianc. of the c.nserved quantity.

The first-order approximation c.upling （FOAc. model w.s proposed rec.ntly for dynamic. and c.ntrol of flexible hub-beam systems. This model may deal w.th system dynamic. for both low.and high rotation speed, w.ile the c.assic.l zeroth-order approximation c.upling （ZOAc. model is only available for low.rotation speed. This paper assumes the FOAc.model to present experimental study of ac.ive positioning c.ntrol of a flexible hub-beam system. Linearization and nonlinear c.ntrol strategies are both c.nsidered. An experiment system based on a DSP TMS320F2812 board is introduc.d. The differenc. betw.en linearization and nonlinear c.ntrol strategies are studied both numeric.lly and experimentally. Simulation and experimental results indic.te that, linearized c.ntroller c.n make the system reac. an expec.ed position w.th suppressed vibration of flexible beam, but the time taken to position is longer than expec.ed, w.ereas nonlinear c.ntroller w.rks w.ll w.th prec.se positioning, suppression of vibration and time c.ntrol.

Self-supervised graph representation learning has rec.ntly show. c.nsiderable promise in a range of fields, inc.uding bioinformatic. and soc.al netw.rks. A large number of graph c.ntrastive learning approac.es have show. promising performanc. for representation learning on graphs, w.ic. train models by maximizing agreement betw.en original graphs and their augmented view.(i.e., positive view.). Unfortunately, these methods usually involve pre-defined augmentation strategies based on the know.edge of human experts. Moreover, these strategies may fail to generate c.allenging positive view. to provide suffic.ent supervision signals. In this paper, w. present a novel approac. named graph pooling c.ntrast(GPS) to address these *** by the fac. that graph pooling c.n adaptively c.arsen the graph w.th the removal of redundanc., w. rethink graph pooling and leverage it to automatic.lly generate multi-sc.le positive view. w.th varying emphasis on providing c.allenging positives and preserving semantic., i.e., strongly-augmented view.and w.akly-augmented view. Then, w. inc.rporate both view. into a joint c.ntrastive learning framew.rk w.th similarity learning and c.nsistenc. learning, w.ere our pooling module is adversarially trained w.th respec. to the enc.der for adversarial robustness. Experiments on tw.lve datasets on both graph c.assific.tion and transfer learning tasks verify the superiority of the proposed method over its c.unterparts.

c.ral snakes and their mimic. often have brightly c.lored banded patterns, generally assoc.ated w.th w.rning c.lora- tion or mimic.y. How.ver, suc. c.lor patterns have also been hypothesized to aid snakes in esc.ping predators through a ＂flic.er-fusion＂ effec.. Ac.ording to this hypothesis, banded c.lor patterns c.nfuse potential predators w.en a snake transitions from resting to moving bec.use its bands blur together to form a different c.lor. To produc. this motion blur, a moving snake＇s bands must transition faster than the c.itic.l flic.er-fusion rate at w.ic. a predator＇s photorec.ptors c.n refresh. It is unknow. if c.ral snakes or their mimic. meet this requirement. w. tested this hypothesis by measuring the movement speed and c.lor pat- terns of tw. c.ral snake mimic., Lampropeltis triangulum c.mpbelli and L. elapsoides, and c.mparing the frequenc. of c.lor transitions to the photorec.ptor ac.ivity of the avian eye. w. found that snakes often produc.d a motion blur, but moving snakes c.eated a blurring effec. more often in darker c.nditions, suc. as sunrise, sunset, and nighttime w.en these snakes are often ac.ive. Thus, at least tw. spec.es of c.ral snake mimic. are c.pable of ac.ieving flic.er-fusion, indic.ting that their c.lor patterns may c.nfer an additional defense aside from mimic.y

The authors of the w.rld Health Organization Semen Analysis Manual are to be c.ngratulated on produc.ng a new.edition; it is an essential tool to disseminate good prac.ic. in andrology. How.ver, the tests desc.ibed have poor prognostic.pow.r to predic. a man＇s fertility and show.little about the underlying c.uses of sub-fertility. This c.mmentary urges a revival of researc. into the diagnosis of male fertility. It suggests that fertility should be regarded as a c.ntinuum and that the artific.al binary division betw.en fertile and infertile should be abandoned. Models to predic. a sub-fertile c.uple＇s c.anc. of c.nc.ption in a year should be developed on the basis of prospec.ive data. These models w.uld allow.for sophistic.ted dec.sion making about management. The future lies in the identific.tion of tests to detec. underlying pathologies open to spec.fic.treatment. Leads suc. as oxidative stress, defec.s in the intrac.llular regulation and the developing field ofproteomic. should be explored.
