The commercialization of nickel-rich LiNi_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)O_(2)(NMC811) has been hindered by its continuous loss of practical capacity and reduction in average working *** address these issues,surface modification has been well-recognized as an effective *** from the coatings reported in literature to date,in this work,we for the first time report a sulfide coating,amorphous Li_(2)S via atomic layer deposition (ALD).Our study revealed that the conformal nano-Li_(2)S coating shows exceptional protection over the NMC811 cathodes,accounting for the dramatically boosted capacity retention from~11.6%to~71%and the evidently mitigated voltage reduction from 0.39 to 0.18 V after 500 charge–discharge *** addition,the Li_(2)S coating remarkably improved the rate capability of the NMC811 *** investigation further revealed that all these beneficial effects of the ALD-deposited nano-Li_(2)S coating lie in the following aspects:(i) maintain the mechanical integrity of the NMC811 electrode:(ii) stabilize the NMC electrode/electrolyte interface:and (iii) suppress the irreversible phase transition of NMC ***,this study also has revealed that the nano-Li_(2)S coating has played some unique role not associated with traditional non-sulfide coatings such as *** this regard,we disclosed that the Li_(2)S layer has reacted with the released O_(2) from the NMC lattices,and thereby has dramatically mitigated electrolyte oxidation and electrode ***,this study is significant and has demonstrated that sulfides may be an important class of coating materials to tackle the issues of NMCs and other layered cathodes in lithium batteries.

Aluminum-activated malate transporters(ALMT)are widely involved in plant growth and metabolic processes,including adaptation to acid soils,guard cell regulation,anion homeostasis,and seed *** ALMT genes have been identified in Arabidopsis,wheat,barley,and Lotus japonicus,little is known about its presence in Gossypium hirsutum *** this study,ALMT gene recognition in diploid and tetraploid cotton were done using bioinformatics analysis that examined correlation between homology and *** regulated ALMT genetic profile in *** was examined,using RNA sequencing and qRT-PCR,during six fiber developmental time-points,namely 5 d,7 d,10 d,15 d,20 d,and 25 *** detected 36 ALMT genes in ***,which were subsequently annotated and divided into seven *** these ALMT genes,34 had uneven distribution across 14/26 *** domains and gene structure analysis indicated that ALMT genes were highly conserved and composed of exons and *** GhALMT gene expression profile at different DPA(days post anthesis)in different varieties of *** is indicative of a crucial role of ALMT genes in fiber development in *** study provides basis for advancements in the cloning and functional enhancements of ALMT genes in enhancing fiber development and augmenting high quality crop production.

Lignans are a powerful weapon for plants to resist stresses and have diverse bioactive functions to protect human *** the mechanisms of stereoselective biosynthesis and response to stresses of lignans is important for the guidance of plant ***,we identified the complete pathway to stereoselectively synthesize antiviral(-)-lariciresinol glucosides in Isatis indigotica roots,which consists of three-step sequential stereoselective enzymes DIR1/2,PLR,and ***1 was further identified as the key gene in respoJanuary 2024nse to stresses and was able to trigger stress defenses by mediating the elevation in lignan ***,the phytohormone-responsive ERF transcription factor LTF1 colocalized with DIR1 in the cell periphery of the vascular regions in mature roots and helped resist biotic and abiotic stresses by directly regulating the expression of *** systematic results suggest that DIR1 as the first common step of the lignan pathway cooperates with PLR and UGT71B2 to stereoselectively synthesize(-)-lariciresinol derived antiviral lignans in *** roots and is also a part of the LTF1-mediated regulatory network to resist *** conclusion,the LTF1-DIR1 module is an ideal engineering target to improve plant Defenses while increasing the content of valuable lignans in plants.

To the Editor:Parathyroid tumors are endocrine tumors that can lead to disorders of calcium and phosphorus metabolism and involve multiple organ *** the past,the genetics of parathyroid tumors have been well established,and the significant roles of genes such as MEN1,CDC73,and CCND1 in the process of parathyroid tumorigenesis have been identified and confirmed[Table 1].However,with further research and the widespread use of sequencing technology,“new”roles for“old”genes and new pathogenic mechanisms have been discovered.

Seasonal Variation of the Sea Surface Temperature Growth Rate of ENSO

El Ni?o–Southern Oscillation(ENSO) exhibits a distinctive phase-locking characteristic, first expressed during its onset in boreal spring, developing during summer and autumn, reaching its peak towards winter, and decaying over the next spring. Several studies have demonstrated that this feature arises as a result of seasonal variation in the growth rate of ENSO as expressed by the sea surface temperature(SST). The bias towards simulating the phase locking of ENSO by many state-of-the-art climate models is also attributed to the unrealistic depiction of the growth rate. In this study, the seasonal variation of SST growth rate in the Ni?o-3.4 region(5°S–5°N, 120°–170°W) is estimated in detail based on the mixed layer heat budget equation and recharge oscillator model during 1981–2020. It is suggested that the consideration of a variable mixed layer depth is essential to its diagnostic process. The estimated growth rate has a remarkable seasonal cycle with minimum rates occurring in spring and maximum rates evident in autumn. More specifically, the growth rate derived from the meridional advection(surface heat flux) is positive(negative) throughout the year. Vertical diffusion generally makes a negative contribution to the evolution of growth rate and the magnitude of vertical entrainment represents the smallest contributor. Analysis indicates that the zonal advective feedback is regulated by the meridional immigration of the intertropical convergence zone, which approaches its southernmost extent in February and progresses to its northernmost location in September, and dominates the seasonal variation of the SST growth rate.

UreteroPelvic Junction Obstruction(UPJO)is a common hydronephrosis disease in children that can result in an even progressive loss of renal *** is an economical,radiationless,noninvasive,and high noise preliminary diagnostic step for *** intelligence has been widely applied to medical fields and can greatly assist doctors'diagnostic *** demand for a highly secure network environment in transferring electronic medical data online,therefore,has led to the development of blockchain *** this study,we built and tested a framework that integrates a deep learning diagnosis model with blockchain *** diagnosis model is a combination of an attention-based pyramid semantic segmentation network and a discrete wavelet transformation-processed residual classification *** also compared the performance between benchmark models and our *** diagnosis model outperformed benchmarks on the segmentation task and classification task with MloU=87.93,MPA=93.52,and accuracy=91.77%.For the blockchain system,we applied the InterPlanetary File System protocol to build a secure and private sharing *** framework can automatically grade the severity of UPJO using ultrasound images,guarantee secure medical data sharing,assist in doctors'diagnostic ability,relieve patients'burden,and provide technical support for future federated learning and linkage of the Internet of Medical Things(loMT).

Dynamic Expression Analysis and Introgressive Gene Identification of Fiber Length Using Chromosome Segment Substitution Lines from ***×***

Fiber length is a critical trait that principally determines cotton spinning quality,while Upland cotton as the most widely cultivated Gossypium species around the world subjects to the relatively ordinary fiber *** segment substitution lines(CSSLs)have been introduced in cotton breeding to take full advantages of superior fiber quality and high yield from Sea Island and Upland cotton,respectively,which serve as ideal materials for elucidating the genetic mechanism of complex quantitative ***,three CSSLs derived from CCRI45(***)×Hai1(***),two superior(MBI7561 and MBI7747)and one(MBI7285)with ordinary fiber-quality,were subjected to transcriptome sequencing during fiber elongation together with their recurrent parent CCRI45,and 471.425 million clean reads were obtained with 91.47%average Q30 and 45.23%mean GC *** total,5,673 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified from multi-sample comparisons,which were mainly involved in the oxidation-reduction process,protein phosphorylation,regulation of transcription,DNA template,and carbohydrate metabolic *** temporal expression patterns were monitored on the DEGs of different lines,of which the significantly enriched profile revealed higher similarities between two superior CSSLs or the ordinary CSSL and CCRI45 with respect to fiber *** on the intersection between the predicted introgressive genes from RNAseq data and the published gene information from the *** genome,1,535 introgressive genes were identified in three *** analysis of the three common introgressive sections in superior CSSLs revealed eight candidate genes that were identified to be involved in fiber development,namely,O-fucosyltransferase family protein(GB_A02G0240),glutamine synthetase 2(GB_A02G0272),Ankyrin repeat family protein(GB_A02G0264),beta-6 tubulin(GB_D03G1742),WRKY DNA-binding protein 2(GB_D03G1655),quinolinate synthase(GB_D07G0623),nuclear factor

Scuffing failure analysis based on a multiphysics coupling model and experimental verification

General reductions in lubricant viscosities and increasing loads in machine components highlight the role of tribofilms in providing surface protection against ***,the relationship between the scuffing process and the growth and removal of tribofilm is not well *** this study,a multiphysics coupling model,which includes hydrodynamic lubrication,asperity contact,thermal effect,tribochemistry reaction,friction,and surface wear,was developed to capture the initiation of surface *** and experiments for a piston ring and cylinder liner contact were conducted following a step-load sequence under different temperature *** results show that high temperature and extreme load could induce the lubricant film collapse,which in turn triggers the breakdown of the tribofilm due to the significantly increased removal *** failures of both lubricant film and tribofilm progress instantaneously in a coupling way,which finally leads to severe scuffing.

Synthesis and reactivity of cobalt dinitrogen complex supported by nonsymmetrical pincer ligand

A nonsymmetrical PNN pincer ligand[6-(^(t)Bu_(2)PNH)C_(5)H_(4)N-2-(3-Mes)C_(3)H_(2)N_(2)]and its corresponding cobalt-N_(2)complex were synthesized and *** the stoichiometric reaction of the PNN ligand lithium salt with CoCl_(2),the complex 3,(PNN)CoCl,was ***,reduction of 3 with NaBHEt3under a dinitrogen atmosphere yielded complex 5,(PNN)Co(Ⅰ)(η^(1)-N_(2)).Single-crystal X-ray analysis,IR spectrum,and DFT calculations revealed that the dinitrogen in 5 was only weakly reduced by the cobalt *** reactions of 5 with carbon monoxide and 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide gave carbonyl and isocyanide complexes 6 and 7 with the release of N_(2),***,these cobalt complexes,especially complex 5,demonstrated the capacity to convert dinitrogen to N(TMS)_(3)with moderate efficiency.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)is known as one of the most malignant tumors with high recurrence and fatality *** poor tumor-targeting ability of traditional chemotherapeutic drugs has been a grand challenge for anti-OSCC *** that,a large quantity of tumor associated macrophages in OSCC tissues further diminish the anti-tumor effects of these ***,we produced a therapeutic nano drug delivery system(FA-PEG-PLA-JQ1)through encapsulating JQ1[a small-molecule inhibitor of bromodomain containing protein 4(BRD4)]into the folic acid(FA)-modified nanoparticle(PEG-PLA),which could prolong the half-life of JQ1 and target the tumor *** then,JQ1 released from this nanoparticle could prevent OSCC growth inducing tumor cell apoptosis,inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and the polarization of M2 type *** conclusion,our date demonstrated the therapeutic benefits of FA-PEG-PLA-JQ1 against OSCC in vivo or in vitro,which could be a novel treatment strategy for OSCC in coming days.
