Tailoring Light–Matter Interactions in Overcoupled Resonator for Biomolecule Recognition and Detection

Plasmonic nanoantennas provide unique opportunities for precise control of light–matter coupling in surface-enhanced infrared absorption(SEIRA)spectroscopy,but most of the resonant systems realized so far suffer from the obstacles of low sensitivity,narrow bandwidth,and asymmetric Fano resonance ***,we demonstrated an overcoupled resonator with a high plasmon-molecule coupling coefficient(μ)(OC-Hμresonator)by precisely controlling the radiation loss channel,the resonator-oscillator coupling channel,and the frequency detuning *** observed a strong dependence of the sensing performance on the coupling state,and demonstrated that OC-Hμresonator has excellent sensing properties of ultra-sensitive(7.25%nm^(−1)),ultra-broadband(3–10μm),and immune asymmetric Fano *** characteristics represent a breakthrough in SEIRA technology and lay the foundation for specific recognition of biomolecules,trace detection,and protein secondary structure analysis using a single array(array size is 100×100μm^(2)).In addition,with the assistance of machine learning,mixture classification,concentration prediction and spectral reconstruction were achieved with the highest accuracy of 100%.Finally,we demonstrated the potential of OC-Hμresonator for SARS-CoV-2 *** findings will promote the wider application of SEIRA technology,while providing new ideas for other enhanced spectroscopy technologies,quantum photonics and studying light–matter interactions.

Novel schemes to generate multi-level modulation formats for ultra-capacity coherent detection transmission systems

We summarize several novel schemes to generate multi-level modulation formats for high capacity transmission system with high spectral efficiency. We show that multi-level 8QAM, 16QAM, 32QAM, and 64QAM （QAM： quatlrature amplitude modulation） optical signals can be generated by commercial optical and electrical devices. Employing these multilevel modulation formats, we have realized PDM-8QAM （PDM： polarization division multiplexing） 32 Tb/s and PDM-36QAM 64-Tb/s signals transmission over 580-and 320-km fibers, respectively.

This retrospective study aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics and neonatal outcomes of pregnant women with SARS-COV-2 in Wuhan Children's Hospital and further suggested a possible management strategy for infected pregnant women under epidemic *** this study,8 pregnant women with SARS-COV-2 who were admitted into Wuhan Children's Hospital,China from February 1,2020 to March 30,2020 and the clinical features,laboratory data,maternal and neonatal outcomes were *** mean age of the women at the time of admission was 30.6 *** mean gestational age of the women was 37 weeks±4 days,and one woman presented with dichorionic diamniotic(DCDA)twin *** for one woman who was febrile,others had no typical clinical *** all pregnant women,the count of white blood cells and lymphocytes appeared normal,but 6 had a lower percentage of lymphocytes.C-reactive protein(CRP)levels were normal for all the *** neonate was tested positive for the coronavirus IgG and IgM *** clinical symptoms of the pregnant women with SARS-COV-2 were mild,and the laboratory data showed similar characteristics to those of non-infected pregnant *** one neonate was tested positive for coronavirus,there is a possibility of vertical transmission of *** and efficient screening,triage,and isolation of pregnant women are ffective management strategies to reduce nosocomial infection during the SARS-COV-2 epidemic.

The Low-Carbon Transition of Energy Systems:A Bibliometric Review from an Engineering Management Perspective

As a major solution to climate change,the low-carbon transition of energy systems has received growing attention in the past *** paper presents a bibliometric review of the literature on the low-carbon transition of energy systems from an engineering management ***,the definition and boundaries of the energy system transition are clarified,covering transformation of the energy structure,decarbonization of fossil fuel utilization,and improvement in energy ***,a systematic search of the related literature and a bibliometric analysis are conducted to reveal the research *** is found that the number of related publications has been growing exponentially during the past decade,with researchers from China,the United Kingdom,the United States,Germany,and the Netherlands comprising the majority of *** studies with interdisciplinary characteristics appear in journals focusing on energy engineering,environmental science,and social science related to energy *** major research themes are identified by clustering the existing literature:(1)low-carbon transition pathways with different spatiotemporal scales and transition constraints;(2)low-carbon technology diffusion with a focus on renewable energy technologies,pollution control technologies,and other technologies facilitating the energy transition;(3)infrastructure network planning for energy systems covering various sectors and regions;and(4)transition-driving mechanisms from the political,economic,social,and natural *** four topics play distinct but mutually supportive roles in facilitating the low-carbon transition of energy systems,and require more in-depth research on designing resilient low-carbon transition pathways with coordinated goals,promoting low-carbon technologies with cost-effective and reliable infrastructure network deployment,and balancing multi-level risks in various ***,business models,nongovernment actors,energy justi

Agitation drying synthesis of porous carbon supported Li_(3)VO_4 as advanced anode material for lithium-ion batteries

Li_(3)VO_4 has been considered as a promising insertion-type anode for lithium-ion batteries due to its high theoretical specific capacity and suitable operating voltage platform. However, this promising anode still suffers from poor electrical conductivity. To address this issue, herein, a porous carbon supported Li_(3)VO_4 composites(Li_(3)VO_4/C) via a facile agitation-drying method combined with subsequent calcination is reported, in which Ketjen black carbon with high porosity, easy dispersion and excellent conductivity can serve as one of carbon sources. The Li_(3)VO_4/C composite prepared at 700 ℃ with a carbon content of~10% exhibits the optimized structure. The void space of the composite accommodates the volume changes during the charge/discharge ***, the carbon shell serves as a conductive skeleton to provide bi-continuous Li ions and electrons pathways. Electrochemical results reveal that the composite delivers a high initial discharge capacity of 572 m Ahág^(-1) and maintains a capacity of 442.9 m Ahág^(-1) after 100 cycles at 100 m Aág^(-1). Even at a high current density of 2 Aág^(-1), a considerable capacity of 243.8 m Ahág^(-1) can still be obtained. This work provides a promising approach for the practical application of Li_(3)VO_4 as anode material for LIBs.

Tuning the interfacial reaction environment via pH-dependent and induced ions to understand C–N bonds coupling performance in NO3- integrated CO2 reduction to carbon and nitrogen compounds over dual Cu-based N-doped carbon catalyst

Dual atomic catalysts （DAC）,particularly copper （Cu2）-based nitrogen （N） doped graphene,show great potential to effectively convert CO2and nitrate （NO3-） into important industrial chemicals such as ethylene,glycol,acetamide,and urea through an efficient catalytical process that involves C–C and C–N ***,the origin of the coupling activity remained unclear,which substantially hinders the rational design of Cu-based catalysts for the N-integrated CO2reduction reaction （CO2RR）.To address this challenge,this work performed advanced density functional theory calculations incorporating explicit solvation based on a Cu2-based N-doped carbon (Cu2N6C10) catalyst for *** calculations are aimed to gain insight into the reaction mechanisms for the synthesis of ethylene,acetamide,and urea via coupling in the interfacial reaction *** to the sluggishness of CO2,the formation of a solvation electric layer by anions （F-,Cl-,Br-,and I-） and cations (Na+,Mg2+,K+,and Ca2+) leads to electron transfer towards the Cu *** process significantly accelerates the reduction of *** results reveal that*CO intermediates play a pivotal role in N-integrated ***,the Cu2-based N-doped carbon catalyst examined in this study has demonstrated the most potential for C–N coupling to *** findings reveal that through the process of a condensation reaction between*CO and NH2OH for urea synthesis,*NO3-is reduced to*NH3,and*CO2to*CCO at dual Cu atom *** dual-site reduction facilitates the synthesis of acetamide through a nucleophilic reaction between NH3and the ketene ***,we found that the I-and Mg2+ions,influenced by pH,were highly effective for acetamide and ammonia synthesis,except when F-and Ca2+were ***,the mechanisms of C–N bond formation were investigated via ab-initio molecular dynamics simulations,and we found that adjusting the micro-environment can change the dominant side reaction,shift

Comparative study on the corrosion behavior of X52, 3Cr, and 13Cr steel in an O2–H2O–CO2 system: products, reaction kinetics, and pitting sensitivity

The corrosion behaviors of X52, 3Cr low-alloy steel, and 13Cr stainless steel were investigated in an O_2–H2O–CO_2 environment at various temperatures and O_2–CO_2 partial-pressure ratios. The results showed that the corrosion rates of X52, 3Cr, and 13Cr steels increased with increasing temperature. The corrosion rates slowly increased at temperatures less than 100°C and increased sharply when the temperature exceeded 100°C. In the absence of O_2, X52, 3Cr, and 13Cr exhibited uniform corrosion morphology and Fe CO3 was the main corrosion product. When O_2 was introduced into the system, various forms of Fe_2O_3 appeared on the surface of the samples. The Cr content strongly influenced the corrosion resistance. The 3Cr steel with a low Cr content was more sensitive to pitting than the X52 or 13Cr steel. Thus, pitting occurred on the surface of 3Cr when 1.25 MPa of O_2 was added; this phenomenon is related to the non-uniform distribution of Crin 3Cr.

Roasting and leaching behaviors of vanadium and chromium in calcification roasting–acid leaching of high-chromium vanadium slag

Calcification roasting–acid leaching of high-chromium vanadium slag(HCVS)was conducted to elucidate the roasting and leaching behaviors of vanadium and *** effects of the purity of Ca O,molar ratio between Ca O and V_2O_5(n(Ca O)/n(V_2O_5)),roasting temperature,holding time,and the heating rate used in the oxidation–calcification processes were *** roasting process and mechanism were analyzed by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and thermogravimetry–differential scanning calorimetry(TG–DSC).The results show that most of vanadium reacted with Ca O to generate calcium vanadates and transferred into the leaching liquid,whereas almost all of the chromium remained in the leaching residue in the form of(Fe_(0.6)Cr_(0.4))_2O_*** trends of the vanadium and chromium leaching ratios were always opposite because of the competitive reactions of oxidation and calcification between vanadium and chromium with Ca ***,Ca O was more likely to combine with vanadium,as further confirmed by thermodynamic *** the HCVS with Ca O added in an n(Ca O)/n(V_2O_5)ratio of 0.5 was roasted in an air atmosphere at a heating rate of 10°C/min from room temperature to 950°C and maintained at this temperature for 60 min,the leaching ratios of vanadium and chromium reached91.14%and 0.49%,respectively;thus,efficient extraction of vanadium from HCVS was achieved and the leaching residue could be used as a new raw material for the extraction of ***,the oxidation and calcification reactions of the spinel phases occurred at 592and 630°C for n(Ca O)/n(V_2O_5)ratios of 0.5 and 5,respectively.

Rigid elliptical cross-section ogive-nose projectiles penetration into concrete targets

The elliptical cross-section ogive-nose projectile(ECOP) has recently attracted attention because it is well suited to the flattened shape of earth-penetrating weapons. However, the penetration performance of ECOPs has not been completely understood. The objective of this study was to investigate the penetration performance of ECOPs into concrete targets using a theoretical method. A general geometric model of ECOPs was introduced, and closed-form penetration equations were derived according to the dynamic cavity-expansion theory. The model was validated by comparing the predicted penetration depths with test data, and the maximum deviation was 15.8%. The increment in the penetration depth of the ECOP was evaluated using the proposed model, and the effect of the majoreminor axis ratio on the increment was examined. Additionally, the mechanism of the penetration-depth increment was investigated with respect to the caliber radius head, axial stress, and resistance.

Combined phacoemulsification and goniosynechialysis with or without endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation in the treatment of PACG with cataract

AIM:To investigate the efficacy and safety of combined phacoemulsification and goniosynechialysis with or without endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation(PGE group and PG group)for the treatment of patients with coexisting primary angle-closure glaucoma(PACG)and ***:The clinical data of patients with PACG and cataract were retrospectively *** was a total of 88 eyes in the study and were divided into two groups,42 eyes in PGE group and 46 eyes in PG *** success cumulative survival,preoperative and postoperative intraocular pressure(IOP),number of IOPlowering medications,best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)in the two groups were observed for more than 12 mo and compared within each group and between two ***:The mean IOP in PGE group declined from24.9 mm Hg preoperatively to 14.1 mm Hg at the first month after operation(P<0.001)and at the last visit 16.2 mm Hg(P<0.001).Meanwhile PG group also showed significant decrease,from 24.1 mm Hg preoperatively to 13.0 mm Hg at Imo after operation(P<0.001)and 15.3 mm Hg at the last visit(P=0.004).The mean medications reliance reduced in both groups,in PGE group was reduced from 1.62 preoperatively to 0.13 at the last visit(P<0.001),in PG group from 0.87 to 0.10(P<0.001).At the last visit,BCVA increased from 0.21 to 0.60 in PGE group(P<0.001)and from 0.24 to 0.67 in PG group(P<0.001).The success rate of PGE group at 1 mo was95.2%,then decreased to 70.7%at the last visit,whereas in PG group,the success rate at 1 mo was 100%,at the last visit was 73.4%.CONCLUSION:PGE shows promise for PACG patients with cataracts to reduce IOP,lighten the medication burden and improve visual acuity,and PG still has its value in specific patients.
