An Ultra-wideband Doubler Chain with 43–65 dBc Fundamental Rejection in Ku/K/Ka Band

In this paper, a double-balanced doubler chain with >43-dBc fundamental rejection over an ultra-wide bandwidth in 0.13-μm SiGe BiCMOS technology is proposed. To achieve high fundamental rejection, high output power, and high conversion gain over an ultra-wideband, a double-balanced doubler chain with pre-and post-drivers employs a bandwidth broadening technique and a ground shielding strategy. Analysis and comparison of the singlebalanced and double-balanced doublers were conducted, with a focus on their fundamental rejection and circuit imbalance. Three doublers, including a passive single-balanced doubler, an active single-balanced doubler, and a passive double-balanced doubler were designed to verify the performance and characteristics of the single-and doublebalanced doublers. Measurements show that the proposed double-balanced doubler chain has approximately 15 dB better fundamental rejection, and more than twice the relative bandwidth compared to the single-balanced doubler chain fabricated with the same process. Over an 86.9% 3-dB bandwidth from 13.4 GHz to 34 GHz, the double-balanced doubler chain delivers 14.7-dBm peak output power and has >43-/33-dBc fundamental/third-harmonic rejection. To the authors' best knowledge, the proposed double-balanced doubler chain shows the highest fundamental rejection over an ultra-wideband among silicon-based doublers at millimeter-wave frequency bands.

Targeted genomic capture and massively parallel sequencing to identify novel mutations causing hereditary hearing loss

Background:Hereditary hearing loss is genetically heterogeneous,and hundreds of mutations in than 60 genes are involved in this ***,it is difficult to identify the causative gene mutations *** this study,we combined targeted genomic capture and massively parallel sequencing(MPS)to address this ***:Using targeted genomic capture and MPS,104 genes and three microRNA regions were selected and simultaneously sequenced in 30 unrelated probands of Chinese families with nonsyndromic hearing *** results were validated by Sanger sequencing for all available members of the probands’*** analyze the possible pathogenic functional effects of the variants,three types of prediction programs(SIFT,PROVEAN and Mutation Taster)were used.A total of 200 ethnicity-matched individuals were selected as controls to confirm the candidate ***:Of the 30 probands,nine had mutations in DFNA genes[WFS1(n=3),COCH(n=2),ACTG1,TMC1(n=2),and POU4F3]known to cause autosomal dominant nonsyndromic hearing *** included two novel in-frame indel mutation,six novel missense mutations and one reported missense ***,one proband from a family with recessive DFNB carried two monoallelic mutations in the SLC26A4 and USH2A *** of these mutations co-segregated with the hearing loss phenotype in 40 affected individuals from7 families and were predicted to be ***:Mutations in uncommon deafness genes contribute to a portion of nonsyndromic deafness *** the future,critical gene mutations may be accurately and quickly identified in families with hereditary hearing loss by targeted genomic capture and MPS.

Application of wastewater-based epidemiological monitoring of COVID-19 for disease surveillance in the city

Leakages from subsea oil and gas equipment cause substantial economic losses and damage to marine ecosystem,so it is essential to locate the source of the ***,due to the complexity and variability of the marine environment,the signals collected by hydrophone contain a variety of noises,which makes it challenging to extract useful signals for *** solve this problem,a hydrophone denoising algorithm is proposed based on variational modal decomposition(VMD)with grey wolf ***,the average envelope entropy is used as the fitness function of the grey wolf optimizer to find the optimal solution for the parameters K andα.Afterward,the VMD algorithm decomposes the original signal parameters to obtain the intrinsic mode functions(IMFs).Subsequently,the number of interrelationships between each IMF and the original signal was calculated,the threshold value was set,and the noise signal was removed to calculate the time difference using the valid signal obtained by ***,the arrival time difference is used to locate the origin of the *** localization accuracy of the method in finding leaks is investigated experimentally by constructing a simulated leak test rig,and the effectiveness and feasibility of the method are verified.

The robust operation of quantum entanglement states is crucial for applications in quantum information,computing,and communications^(1–3).However,it has always been a great challenge to complete such a task because of decoherence and ***,we propose theoretically and demonstrate experimentally an effective scheme to realize robust operation of quantum entanglement states by designing quadruple degeneracy exceptional *** encircling the exceptional points on two overlapping Riemann energy surfaces,we have realized a chiral switch for entangled states with high *** to the topological protection conferred by the Riemann surface structure,this switching of chirality exhibits strong robustness against perturbations in the encircling ***,we have experimentally validated such a scheme on a quantum walk *** work opens up a new way for the application of non-Hermitian physics in the field of quantum information.

Commonly afected in early-life population,the impact of allergic phenotypes on mid-or late-life health is less *** study is to explore the association of allergic phenotypes including atopic dermatitis(AD),asthma,eosinophils count(EC),and *** conducted observational studies and mendelian randomization(MR)analysis based on UK Biobank(UKB),the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS)and data from genome-wide association study(GWAS).Based on the UKB data,AD,asthma and EC were positively correlated with pre-sarcopenia and decreased skeletal muscle mass index and hand grip in fully adjusted *** and EC were signifcantly associated with sarcopenia while AD was marginally associated(p=0.095).Based on the CHARLS cohort,asthma signifcantly added 109.4%risk for pre-sarcopenia in adjusted model(relative risk=2.094;p=0.002),*** asthma(β=0.100,p=0.006)and EC(β=0.023,p=0.017)exerted signifcantly casual efects on ***,as for sarcopenia,merely EC exhibited a signifcantly casual efect(β=0.005,p=0.048).Signifcant casual efects of AD(β=–0.027,p=0.003),asthma(β=–0.029,p=0.027)and EC(β=–0.041,p<0.001)on decreased appendicular lean mass(ALM)were observed using the inverse-variance weighted method and the Mendelian randomization pleiotropy residual sum and outlier(MR-PRESSO)*** results revealed a contributory role of AD,asthma and EC on sarcopenia,especially in terms of decreased ALM,an indicator for sarcopenia *** fndings of our study will raise the awareness of preventing aging-related disorders or geriatric syndromes among allergic populations.

Vegetation canopies intercept and redistribute rainfall into throughfall and stemflow,which transfer substantial amounts of elements into the soil,influencing soil microbial community,plant survival,and plant community *** advancements in ecohydrological research,the implication of nutrient enrichment resulting from this redistribution of rainfall by canopies remains largely *** address this gap,we conducted a systematic review of 1020 papers published between 2000 and 2022,gathering data on nutrient concentration and enrichment for critical ions(including K^(+),Na^(+),Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+),NH_(4)^(+),Cl^(-),NO_(3)^(-)and SO_(4)^(2-))from the Web of Science and Chinese Knowledge Infrastructure *** aimed to synthesize the mechanisms,quantify the enrichments,and identify global patterns of nutrient enrichment in stemflow and throughfall across climate zones,and vegetation types and *** results of this study indicate that stemflow exhibits,on average,2.1times greater ion concentration(6.13 mg L^(-1))compared to *** particular,among the investigated ions,SO_(4)^(2-)(12.45and 6.32 mg L^(-1))for stemflow and throughfall,respectively,and Cl^(-)(9.21 and 4.81 mg L^(-1))exhibit the highest concentrations in both rainfall redistribution components,while K^(+)(13.7 and 5.8)and Mg^(2+)(5.6 and 2.8)have the highest enrichment *** climate zones,throughfall and stemflow show the lowest ion concentrations but the highest enrichment factors in extremely humid *** the temperature gradient,ion concentrations are the highest in cold climates with no clear patterns observed for enrichment factors with increasing *** addition,shrubs,conifers,mixed forests,and artificial ecosystems demonstrate enrichment factors 1.1 to 3.0 times greater than those of trees,broad-leaved plants,pure forests,and natural *** findings emphasize the need for increased attentions to artificial ecosystems,such as urban

The Silurian palaeontology and stratigraphy of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau have been studied for more than100 *** the launch of the Second Tibetan Plateau Scientific Expedition and Research,it is necessary to update the summaries of the Silurian stratigraphy and fossil assemblages of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and their correlation with its surrounding *** this study,we have selected 33 sections from the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surroundings areas,summarised the available data in terms of stratigraphic regionalisation,lithostratigraphy,chronostratigraphy,and biostratigraphy,and divided the study area into four stratigraphic provinces:the Xizang-Western Yunnan-Western Sichuan Province,the KunlunQilian Province,the South China Province,and the Tarim *** general,the Silurian strata in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is more complete than those in other areas of *** studies of the vertebrate faunas,sporomorph assemblages,and brachiopod faunas of the study area indicate a closer geographical relationship between the South China,Tarim,and Indochina palaeoplates,than previously *** with the surrounding areas where Silurian strata have been extensively studied,the study of Silurian strata in the main part of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is still in the preliminary *** the future,it is necessary to conduct research on the age,distribution,and resource potential of basal Silurian black shales to provide new directions for shale gas exploration and development in *** shallow marine strata of the middle to upper Silurian require further *** that the Silurian System in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is more complete,it has the potential to supplement and improve the study of the carbon isotope stratigraphy of the Silurian in China.
