Decline in tree-ring growth of Picea mongolica and its intra-annual eco-physiological responses to drought and CO_(2) enrichment in semi-arid China

Episodes of drought-induced decline in tree growth and mortality are becoming more frequent as a result of climate warming and enhanced water stress in semi-arid ***,the ecophysiological mechanisms under-lying the impact of drought on tree growth remains *** this study,earlywood and latewood tree-ring growth,δ^(13)C,andδ^(18)O chronologies of Picea mongolica from 1900 to 2013 were developed to clarify the intra-and inter-annual tree-ring growth responses to increasingly fre-quent *** results indicate that annual basal area increment residuals(BAI_(res)),which removed tree age and size effects,have significantly decreased since ***-ever,the decreasing trend of earlywood BAI_(res) was higher than that of *** response analysis suggests that the dominant parameters for earlywood and latewood proxies(BAI_(res),δ^(13)C andδ^(18)O)were drought-related climate variables(Palmer drought severity index,temperature,rela-tive humidity,and vapor pressure deficit).The most signifi-cant period of earlywood and latewood proxies’responses to climate variables were focused on June-July and July-August,***_(res),andδ^(13)C were significantly affected by temperature and moisture conditions,whereasδ^(18)O was slightly *** stomatal conduct-ance due to drought outweighed the influence of increasing CO_(2) on intrinsic water use efficiency(iWUE),and ultimately led to a decline in BAI_(res).Compared to latewood,the faster decreasing BAI_(res) and smaller increasing iWUE of early-wood suggested trees were more vulnerable to water stress in the early growing *** study provides insights into the inter-and intra-annual mechanisms of tree-ring growth in semi-arid regions under rising CO_(2) and climate change.

Plant antifreeze proteins(AFPs)are special proteins that can protect plant cells from ice crystal damage in low-temperature environments,and they play a crucial role in the process of plants adapting to cold *** with these characteristics have been found inﬁsh living in cold regions,as well as many plants and *** research on plant AFPs started relatively late,their application prospects are broad,leading to the attention of many researchers to the isolation,cloning,and genetic improvement of plant AFP *** have found that the distribution of AFPs in different species seems to be the result of independent evolu-tionary *** the AFPs found inﬁsh and insects,plant AFPs have multiple hydrophilic ice-binding domains,and their recrystallization inhibition activity is about 10–100 times that ofﬁsh and insect *** different plant AFPs have the characteristics of low TH and high RI,their DNA and amino acid sequences are completely different,with small *** in-depth research and analysis of the character-istics and mechanisms of plant AFPs,not only has our understanding of plant antifreeze mechanisms been enriched,but it can also be used to improve crop varieties and enhance their freezing tolerance,yield,and quality through genetic *** addition,the study of plant AFPs also contributes to our understanding of freezing resistance mechanisms in other organisms and provides new research directions for theﬁeld of ***,based on the analysis of relevant literature,this article will delve into the concepts,character-istics,research methods,and mechanisms of plant AFPs,summarize the latest research progress and application prospects of AFPs in plant,and provide prospects for the future development of AFP gene research.

Development of a novel staging classification for Siewert Ⅱ adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction after neoadjuvant chemotherapy

BACKGROUND Stage classification for Siewert Ⅱ adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction(AEG)treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC)has not been *** To investigate the optimal stage classification for Siewert Ⅱ AEG with *** A nomogram was established based on Cox regression model that analyzed variables associated with overall survival(OS)and disease-specific survival(DSS).The nomogram performance in terms of discrimination and calibration ability was evaluated using the likelihood-ratio test,Akaike information criterion,Harrell concordance index,time-receiver operating characteristic curve,and decision curve *** Data from 725 patients with Siewert type Ⅱ AEG who underwent neoadjuvant therapy and gastrectomy were obtained from the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results *** and multivariate analyses revealed that sex,marital status,race,ypT stage,and ypN stage were independent prognostic factors of OS,whereas sex,race,ypT stage,and ypN stage were independent prognostic factors for *** factors were incorporated into the OS and DSS *** novel nomogram model performed better in terms of OS and DSS prediction compared to the 8th American Joint Committee of Cancer pathological staging system for esophageal and gastric ***,a user-friendly web application was developed for clinical *** The nomogram established specifically for patients with Siewert type Ⅱ AEG receiving NAC demonstrated good prognostic *** using external data is warranted before its widespread clinical application.

P2P Energy Trading Considering Prosumer Preference and System Risk

As an important means of mobilizing demand-side resources,peer-to-peer(P2P)energy trading has drawn more and more attention from *** paper constructs a P2P energy trading framework considering prosumers’trading partner preferences(TPPs)and system *** first,we build the P2P trading models of prosumers equipped with different distributed energy resources(DERs),and TPP ***,to solve the established energy trading problem,a fully distributed double-consensus alternating direction method of multipliers(DC-ADMM)is proposed,which can achieve transaction consensus when considering market players’***,a risk-based security constrained economic dispatch(RBSCED)model based on AC power flow is established for the first time,by which a distribution system operator(DSO)checks system security and obtains risk-based locational marginal prices(RLMPs).Moreover,double-regulated price signals related to RLMPs which contain grid utilization prices(GUPs)and DSO’s retail prices realize management of players’*** the end,the proposed method is applied to an IEEE33 bus distribution *** show the proposed method effectively reduces system risk and ensures secure operation of system without direct management.

Influence of tectonic preservation conditions on the nanopore structure of shale reservoir: A case study of Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation shale in western Hubei area, south China

Tectonism is one of the dominant factors affecting the shale pore structure. However, the control of shale pore structure by tectonic movements is still controversial, which limits the research progress of shale gas accumulation mechanism in the complex tectonic region of southern China. In this study, 34 samples were collected from two exploratory wells located in different tectonic locations. Diverse experiments,e.g., organic geochemistry, XRD analysis, FE-SEM, low-pressure gas adsorption, and high-pressure mercury intrusion, were conducted to fully characterize the shale reservoir. The TOC, Ro, and mineral composition of the shale samples between the two wells are similar, which reflects that the shale samples of the two wells have proximate pores-generating capacity and pores-supporting ***, the pore characteristics of shale samples from two wells are significantly different. Compared with the stabilized zone shale, the porosity, pore volume, and specific surface area of the deformed zone shale were reduced by 60.61%, 64.85%, and 27.81%, respectively. Moreover, the macroscopic and fine pores were reduced by 54.01% and 84.95%, respectively. Fault activity and uplift denudation are not conducive to pore preservation, and the rigid basement of Huangling uplift can promote pore preservation. These three factors are important reasons for controlling the difference in pore structure between two wells shales. We established a conceptual model of shale pores evolution under different tectonic preservation conditions. This study is significant to clarify the scale of shale gas formation and enrichment in complex tectonic regions, and helps in the selection of shale sweet spots.

Mechanical response of a tunnel subjected to strike-slip faulting processes,based on a multi-scale modeling method

The stick-slip action of strike-slip faults poses a significant threat to the safety and stability of underground *** this study,the north-east area of the Longmenshan fault,Sichuan,provides the geological background;the rheological characteristics of the crustal lithosphere and the nonlinear interactions between plates are described by Burger’s viscoelastic constitutive model and the friction constitutive model,respectively.A large-scale global numerical model for plate squeezing analysis is established,and the seemingly periodic stick-slip action of faults at different crust depths is *** a second model at a smaller scale,a local finite element model(sub-model),the time history of displacement at a ground level location on the Longmenshan fault plane in a stick-slip action is considered as the displacement *** integration of these models,creating a multi-scale modeling method,is used to evaluate the crack propagation and mechanical response of a tunnel subjected to strike-slip *** determinations of the recurrence interval of stick-slip action and the cracking characteristics of the tunnel are in substantial agreement with the previous field investigation and experimental results,validating the multi-scale modeling *** can be concluded that,regardless of stratum stiffness,initial cracks first occur at the inverted arch of the tunnel in the footwall,on the squeezed side under strike-slip *** smaller the stratum stiffness is,the smaller the included angle between the crack expansion and longitudinal direction of the tunnel,and the more extensive the crack expansion *** the tunnel in a high stiffness stratum,both shear and bending failures occur on the lining under strike-slip faulting,while for that in the low stiffness stratum,only bending failure occurs on the lining.

Consensus on glycemic management for patients with coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes

The prevalence of patients with coronary heart disease(CHD)and diabetes mellitus is notably high,posing sig-nificant residual cardiovascular risks even after routine interventions such as antihypertensive,lipid-lowering,and antithrombot-ic *** studies have demonstrated that certain glucose-lowering medications confer cardiovascular benefits for pa-tients with type 2 ***,a survey indicates that cardiologists may not be fully acquainted with the optimal screen-ing timing,indicators,and diagnostic criteria for type 2 diabetes,and there is insufficient awareness and a low rate of prescrip-tion of novel glucose-lowering medications with proven cardiovascular efficacy,such as glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agon-ists(GLP-1 RAs)and sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 inhibitors(SGLT-2i).In this context,based on domestic and international guidelines or consensus and the latest evidence-based evidence,this consensus aims to standardize the glycemic management for patients with acute coronary syndrome,chronic coronary syndrome,and perioperative management for percutaneous coronary *** highlights the key points of screening and diagnosis of type 2 diabetes,and the comprehensive management of cardiovascular risk in patients with *** consensus elaborates on the principles and algorithms of glycemic management for CHD patients,without involving acute complications of diabetes,clarifies the clinical practice of glucose-lowering medications with cardiovascular benefits,and promotes the standardized use of these medications in cardiovascular and other related spe-cialty ***,it addresses the glucose-lowering treatment to comprehensively reduce cardiovascular risks.

Coordination-driven self-assembly of a molecular 818knot and molecular borromean rings

We report the facile construction of a molecular 818knot and a molecular Borromean rings assembly through self-assembly directed by Cp*Rh corner units. Two curved ligands of similar size and shape were used in this study. The slight steric differences between the two ligands induce the formation of distinctly different topologies of the assembled products. The structures were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray analysis and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

Percarbonate activation catalyzed by nanoblocks of basic copper molybdate for antibiotics degradation: High performance, degradation pathways and mechanism

Sodium percarbonate(Na_(2)CO_(3)·1.5H_(2)O_(2),SPC)has been extensively employed as a solid substitute of H_(2)O_(2)for Fenton process in water treatment,because of its high stability during the production,transport,storage and *** addition,SPC can be applied in a wider range of work pH,it is also applied as a buffer in Fenton reaction for preventing a drop in ***,we have synthesized basic copper molybdate(BCM)nanoblocks with the molecular formula of Cu_(3)(MoO_(4))_(2)(OH)_(2)as an efficient and heterogeneous catalyst for antibiotics degradation via percarbonate ***,fully physical characterizations confirmed BCM nanocomposite exhibited a structure of *** also found that BCM/SPC system could work in a much wider pH range,compared with H_(2)O_(2).Then,BCM/SPC system presented a good anti-interference ability for natural organic matter in OTC *** results and Quenching tests confirmed that the co-presence of·CO_(3)-,·O_(2)-,1O_(2)and·OH in BCM/SPC system.
