Molecular phylogeny of Pamphagidae （Acridoidea, Orthoptera） from China based on mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase II sequences

Phylogenetic relationships of Pamphagidae were examined using cytochrome oxidase subunit II （COIl） mtDNA sequences （684 bp）. Twenty-seven species of Acridoidea from 20 genera were sequenced to obtain mtDNA data, along with four species from the GenBank nucleotide database. The purpose of this study was analyzing the phylogenetic relationships among subfamilies within Pamphagidae and interpreting the phylogenetic position of this family within the Acridoidea superfamily. Phylogenetic trees were reconstructed using neighbor-joining （NJ）, maximurn parsimony （MP） and Bayesian inference （BI） methods. The 684 bp analyzed fragment included 126 parsimony informative sites. Sequences diverged 1.0%-11.1% between genera within subfamilies, and 8.8%-12.3% between subfamilies. Amino acid sequence diverged 0-6.1% between genera within subfamilies, and 0.4%-7.5% between subfamilies. Our phylogenetic trees revealed the monophyly of Pamphagidae and three distinct major groups within this family. Moreover, several well supported and stable clades were found in Pamphagidae. The global clustering results were similar to that obtained through classical morphological classification： Prionotropisinae, Thrinchinae and Pamphaginae were monophyletic groups. However, the current genus Filchnerella （Prionotropisinae） was not a monophyletic group and the genus Asiotmethis （Prionotropisinae） was a sister group of the genus Thrinchus （Thrinchinae）. Further molec- ular and morphological studies are required to clarify the phylogenetic relationships of the genera Filchnerella and Asiotmethis.

A new species, Chorthippus（Altichorthippus） qixingtaiensis sp. nov. from China is described in this paper. The new species is similar to C.（A.） changtunensis yin, 1984, but different by： prozona longer than metazoan, maximum width of medial area of tegmen about 2 times as maximum width of cubital area in male, base of hind femur without dark sloping stripe on inner side and length of interspace of mesosterum shorter than minimum width in female. A new combination Magaulacobothrus tianshanensis（Zheng, Ma ＆ Ren, 2009） comb. nov. is reported. The type specimens are deposited in the College of Plant Protection, Shandong Agricultural University, Taian, Shandong, China.

Basedonthe 16S mitochondrial partial gene sequences of 29 genera, containing 26 from Oedipodidae and one each from Tanaoceridae, Pyrgomorphidae and Tetrigidae （as outgroups）, the homologus sequences were compared and phylogenetic analyses were performed. A phylogenetic tree was inferred by neighbor-joining （N J）. The results of sequences compared show that：（i） in a total of 574 bp of Oedipodidae, the number of substituted nucleotides was 265 bp and the average percentages ofT, C, A and G were 38.3%, 11.4%, 31.8% and 18.5%, respectively, and the content of A＋T （70.1%） was distinctly richer than that of C＋G （29.9%）; and （ii） the average nucleotide divergence of 16S rDNA sequences among genera of Oedipodidae were 9.0%, among families of Acridoidea were 17.0%, and between superfamilies （Tetrigoidea and Acridoidea） were 23.9%, respectively. The phylogenetic tree indicated：（i） the Oedipodidae was a monophyletic group, which suggested that the taxonomic status of this family was confirmed; （ii） the genus Heteropternis separated from the other Oedipodids first and had another unique sound-producing structure in morphology, which is the type-genus of subfamily Heteropterninae; and （iii） the relative intergeneric relationship within the same continent was closer than that of different continents, and between the Eurasian genera and the African genera, was closer than that between Eurasians and Americans.

Two new species of the genus Sinopodisma Chang, 1940 from Guizhou, China are described in this paper. S. xiai sp. nov. is similar to S. keloggii （Chang, 1940）, but differs from the latter by the length of a segment in antennae 2.5 times width in the middle part, median keel ofpronotum distinct, cercus of male very wide at basal part, its maximum width 2.2 times width of middle part and ancorae of epiphallus oblique inward, lower margin straight. S. fanjingshana sp. nov. is similar to S. wulingshana Peng ＆ Fu, 1992, but differs from the latter in hind margin of pronotum with small hollow slightly in the middle, tegmina of male extending over the hind margin of first abdominal tergum distinctly, interspace of mesosternum narrow at the middle in male, ancorae of epiphallus lower than anterior projection, length of subgenital plate 1.5 times width in female. Type specimens are deposited in the Natural Museum of Hebei University, Baoding, Hebei, China.

Two new species of the genus Eotmethis Bey-Bienko, 1948 are described in this paper, namely E. daqingshanensis sp. nov. and E. gansuensis sp. nov. from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Gansu Province, respectively. The type specimens of the new species are deposited in College of Life Sciences, Hebei University, Baoding, China.

Investigation of bubbles escape behavior from low basicity mold flux for high-Mn high-Al steels using 3D X-ray microscope

During the continuous casting process of high-Mn high-Al steels,various types of gases such as Ar need to escape through the top of the *** which,the behavior of bubbles traversing the liquid slag serves as a restrictive link,closely associated with viscosity and the thickness of liquid *** contrast to two-dimensional surface observation,three-dimensional(3D)analysis method can offer a more intuitive,accurate,and comprehensive ***,this study employs a 3D X-ray microscope(3D-XRM)to obtained spatial distribution and 3D morphological characteristics of residual bubbles in mold flux under different basicity of liquid slag,different temperatures,and different holding *** results indicate that as basicity of slag increases from 0.52 to 1.03,temperature increases from 1423 to 1573 K,the viscosity of slag decreases,the floating rate of bubbles *** addition,when holding time increases from 10 to 30 s,the bubbles floating distance increases,and the volume fraction and average equivalent sphere diameter of the bubbles solidified in the mold flux gradually *** one word,increasing the basicity,temperature,and holding time leading to an increase in the removal rate of bubbles especially for the *** findings of bubbles escape behavior provide valuable insights into optimizing low basicity mold flux for high-Mn high-Al steels.

In this paper,we investigate a decentralized diagnosis problem of a discrete-evnt system(DES) subject to unreliable sensors,where the sensor observations of local diagnosers may be non-deterministic as a result of possible *** studies on decentralized robust diagnosis can only deal with different types of sensor failures separately,e.g.,all sensors suffer from the same type of sensor failures such as intermittent sensor failures or permanent sensor ***,since sensors of different local diagnosers may face different external environments and have different internal characteristics,sensors corresponding to different local diagnosers may also have their own fault *** this paper,we propose a flexible framework of decentralized diagnosis for DES subject to unreliable sensors such that sensors of different local diagnosers are permitted to have different types of sensor *** this end,we extend the existing decentralized diagnosis framework to the case where there exist common sensors broadcasting their observations to all local *** apply linear temporal logic(LTL) to constrain infinite behaviors of private sensors of local diagnosers and common ***,a new notion of φ-codiagnosability is proposed as the necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a decentralized diagnoser that works correctly under sensors,satisfying LTL-based sensor ***,we provide an effective approach to verify the φ-codiagnosability.

Fungi are known to be crucial in the formation and stabilization of soil organic matter through their exudates and dead residues (necromass). Yet, it remains unclear how fungi contribute to the persistence of carbon in soils over millennial scales across biomes. Here, this study fills the knowledge gap by linking fungal carbon stocks with minerals-associated carbon stocks across major biomes. A strong correlation between fungal biomass and reactive mineral-associated carbon stocks in soils across six biomes supports the substantial role of fungi in soil carbon persistence at the global level. High spatial resolution nanoscale secondary ion mass spectrometry revealed that fungi may stabilize carbon by forming organo-mineral associations through their close physical connection to reactive minerals and weathered nanoparticles. We propose a conceptual model that emphasizes the dualistic role of hypha-mineral interactions:(i) fungi accelerate organic matter decomposition by producing reactive oxygen species on the hypha-mineral interfaces, and (ii) fungi stabilize their residues on mineral surfaces, leading to millennial scale persistence of soil C. Concluding, fungi play a fundamental role in ecosystems that extends beyond the decomposition of persistent carbon. They are crucial in stabilizing carbon on mineral surfaces, thereby facilitating the long-term removal of carbon from rapid biotic cycling.
