＜正＞Studies have shown that parasites can influence the anatomical features of their herbaceous host ***,there is limited understanding about how vascular alterations in the woody host can be influenced by parasitic *** aim of the current study was to investigate the changes in the structure of the anatomical features and levels of the endogenous hormones present in Tamarix chinensis roots parasitised by Cistanche *** compared root xylems that developed in the presence of parasites and those of the control group,on the basis of numerous anatomical characteristics and electron *** indole-3-acetic acid （IAA） and cytokinin（CTK） levels in the roots were also quantitated by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay（ELISA）.The results showed that the parasitic plants can influence the development of the host *** the xylems of infected roots,the size of the vessels was smaller, and the number of the vessel was greater than that of non-infected *** from transmission electron micrographs indicated that there was a gap between xylem vessels and parenchyma cells and that a few starch grains were present in the parenchyma *** phenomena may be attributed to differences in endogenous IAA and CTK levels,which were significantly higher in host *** report could enrich our understanding of the interaction between parasites and their woody hosts.
