A novel multi-channel porous structure facilitating mass transport towards highly efficient alkaline water electrolysis

An advantageous porous architecture of electrodes is pivotal in significantly enhancing alkaline water electrolysis(AWE)efficiency by optimizing the mass transport mechanisms.This effect becomes even more pronounced when aiming to achieve elevated current densities.Herein,we employed a rapid and scalable laser texturing process to craft novel multi-channel porous electrodes.Particularly,the obtained electrodes exhibit the lowest Tafel slope of 79 mV dec^(-1)(HER)and 49 mV dec^(-1)(OER).As anticipated,the alkaline electrolyzer(AEL)cell incorporating multi-channel porous electrodes(NP-LT30)exhibited a remarkable improvement in cell efficiency,with voltage drops(from 2.28 to 1.97 V)exceeding 300 mV under 1 A cm^(-1),compared to conventional perforated Ni plate electrodes.This enhancement mainly stemmed from the employed multi-channel porous structure,facilitating mass transport and bubble dynamics through an innovative convection mode,surpassing the traditional convection mode.Furthermore,the NP-LT30-based AEL cell demonstrated exceptional durability for 300 h under 1.0 A cm^(-2).This study underscores the capability of the novel multi-channel porous electrodes to expedite mass transport in practical AWE applications.

Joint Task Allocation and Resource Optimization for Blockchain Enabled Collaborative Edge Computing

Collaborative edge computing is a promising direction to handle the computation intensive tasks in B5G wireless networks.However,edge computing servers(ECSs)from different operators may not trust each other,and thus the incentives for collaboration cannot be guaranteed.In this paper,we propose a consortium blockchain enabled collaborative edge computing framework,where users can offload computing tasks to ECSs from different operators.To minimize the total delay of users,we formulate a joint task offloading and resource optimization problem,under the constraint of the computing capability of each ECS.We apply the Tammer decomposition method and heuristic optimization algorithms to obtain the optimal solution.Finally,we propose a reputation based node selection approach to facilitate the consensus process,and also consider a completion time based primary node selection to avoid monopolization of certain edge node and enhance the security of the blockchain.Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm,and the total delay can be reduced by up to 40%compared with the non-cooperative case.

Transmit Power Minimization for IRS-Assisted NOMA-UAV Networks

The flexibility of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)allows them to be quickly deployed to support ground users.Intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)can reflect the incident signal and form passive beamforming to enhance the signal in the specific direction.Motivated by the promising benefits of both technologies,we consider a new scenario in this paper where a UAV uses non-orthogonal multiple access to serve multiple users with IRS.According to their distance to the UAV,the users are divided into the close users and remote users.The UAV hovers above the close users due to their higher rate requirement,while the IRS is deployed near the remote users to enhance their received power.We aim at minimizing the transmit power of UAV by jointly optimizing the beamforming of UAV and the phase shift of IRS while ensuring the decoding requirement.However,the problem is non-convex.Therefore,we decompose it into two sub-problems,including the transmit beamforming optimization and phase shift optimization,which are transformed into second-order cone programming and semidefinite programming,respectively.We propose an iterative algorithm to solve the two sub-problems alternatively.Simulation results prove the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in minimizing the transmit power of UAV.

Deep Learning-Based Symbol Detection for Time-Varying Nonstationary Channels

The highly dynamic channel(HDC)in an extremely dynamic environment mainly has fast timevarying nonstationary characteristics.In this article,we focus on the most difficult HDC case,where the channel coherence time is less than the symbol period.To this end,we propose a symbol detector based on a long short-term memory(LSTM)neural network.Taking the sampling sequence of each received symbol as the LSTM unit's input data has the advantage of making full use of received information to obtain better performance.In addition,using the basic expansion model(BEM)as the preprocessing unit significantly reduces the number of neural network parameters.Finally,the simulation part uses the highly dynamic plasma sheath channel(HDPSC)data measured from shock tube experiments.The results show that the proposed BEM-LSTM-based detector has better performance and does not require channel estimation or channel model information.

Time and energy efficient data collection via UAV

Using unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) for data collection has emerged as a promising technique to achieve both time-and energy-efficient data gathering while keeping data fresh. In this study, two schemes are proposed for flight cycle minimization and energy efficiency maximization to collect data from ground sensors. We first minimize the flight cycle by jointly optimizing the wake-up scheduling of sensors, the trajectory,and the time slot, which is a mixed-integer non-convex problem and difficult to solve directly. To this end,we propose an iterative algorithm based on block coordinate descent and successive convex approximation to decouple the original non-convex problem into two sub-problems and the constraints are turned to be convex approximately. Furthermore, the energy efficiency is maximized since the limited energy is a critical issue in UAV communication systems. We approximate the two subproblems as convex optimizations by introducing slack variables and applying SCA. The approximate energy efficiency is a fractional expression, and we use Dinkelbach’s method to solve it. Numerical results show that the flight cycle is minimized in the first scheme with the data requirement satisfied, while in the second scheme, the energy efficiency is maximized with the trade-off between the transmission data and the propulsion power consumption.

The sixth-generation(6G) wireless network will support ubiquitous connectivity and diversified scenarios to satisfy the requirements of various emerging applications. Full spectrum is a key enabler for6G to achieve the ambitious goal of a Tbps-scale data rate. In this paper, we first review the scenario and potential spectrum plan for 6G and then focus on SpectrumChain, a blockchain-based dynamic spectrumsharing(DSS) framework for 6G. The unique characteristics of blockchain for DSS are presented along with key technologies. Finally, the conclusion and future development trends are discussed.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs) have received a wide range of attention for military and commercial applications. Enhanced with communication capability, UAVs are considered to play important roles in the Sixth Generation(6G) networks due to their low cost and flexible deployment. 6G is supposed to be an all-coverage network to provide ubiquitous connections for space, air, ground and underwater. UAVs are able to provide air-borne wireless coverage flexibly,serving as aerial base stations for ground users, as relays to connect isolated nodes, or as mobile users in cellular networks. However, the onboard energy of small UAVs is extremely limited. Thus,UAVs can be only deployed to establish wireless links temporarily. Prolonging the lifetime and developing green UAV communication with low power consumption becomes a critical challenge.In this article, a comprehensive survey on green UAV communications for 6G is carried out. Specifically, the typical UAVs and their energy consumption models are introduced. Then, the typical trends of green UAV communications are provided. In addition, the typical applications of UAVs and their green designs are discussed. Finally, several promising techniques and open research issues are also pointed out.

The Geographical Rotation of Local Officials and Enterprise Cross-city Mergers and Acquisitions in China

The economic impact of the geographical rotation of local officials is important in China's official management system.This study used a zero-inflated Poisson regression model and found that the geographical rotation of local officials significantly increased cross-city mergers and acquisitions(M&As)of enterprises.The impact of local officials'geographical rotation on M&As was more pronounced under certain conditions.These conditions included:(i)when officials were transferred from cities with a higher development level to cities with a lower development level;(ii)when the outflow cities were municipalities directly governed by the central government,provincial capitals,or separately listed cities;(iii)when the transfers of officials occurred within the same province;(iv)when the transfers took place before 2012;and(v)when the transfers happened in the years following significant central government conferences,which provided strong political incentives for M&As.

Hybrid Multiple Access and Service-Oriented Resource Allocation for Heterogeneous QoS Provisioning in Machine Type Communications

Non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA)has emerged as one important enabling technology for future wireless communications and services,including machine type communication(MTC).Unfortunately,supporting diverse MTC services and massive connectivity is still challenging due to the very different service requirements,scarce radio resources,limited battery capacity of MTC devices,as well as rapidly changing network conditions.In this paper,a hybrid-multipleaccess(HMA)scheme for service-oriented resource allocation scheme is proposed in supporting diverse MTC services for resource constrained devices and networks.In the proposed scheme,HMA allows MTC devices to choose a suitable type of multiple access technique according to their channel conditions,power constraints,and quality of service(QoS)requirements.To support service-oriented resource allocation,the physical network is firstly sliced into several virtualized networks based on QoS requirements and hardware conditions of MTC devices.A novel utility function integrating network performance and the power consumption in MTC devices is proposed.Furthermore,the resource allocation problem is formulated as an optimization problem to maximize the different utility functions under constraints of user QoS requirements and maximum transmitted power.To improve computational capacity as well as reduce the operational latency,a cloud-edge collaborative scheme is further designed to share the computation loads between the cloud and edge.Simulation results demonstrate the proposed service-oriented resource allocation scheme is effective and illustrate that the proposed hybrid multiple access method provides better performance than NOMA in terms of effective energy efficiency.

政府目标如何驱动能源效率改善是一个重要问题,“十一五”规划节能目标政策是中国转向能源节约型社会的关键契机。本文通过手工收集地级市层面节能目标约束数据,采用双重差分法考察节能目标政策对地区能源效率的影响。研究表明,节能目标政策显著提升能源效率,这一结论通过了一系列稳健性检验。机制分析表明,节能目标较高地区通过调整经济增长目标、优化产业结构、促进技术进步和改善资源配置效率实现地区能源效率提升。异质性分析发现,治理激励和晋升激励较强地区的能源效率改善效果更好,自然资源禀赋低、市场化水平高、财政支出水平高的地区政策效果也更加显著。微观企业层面的经验证据也支持上述发现,为中国在“双碳”背景下合理制定和科学实施节能目标政策提供政策启示。
