*** Yingwei and his coworker from Jilin University reported an entirely new kind of macrocyclic arene, namely geminiarene, featuring two different but interconvertible molecular configurations. Taking advantage of the dual/gemini confonnational feature and the unique host-guest property of geminiarene, they developed unitary and dual guest selective adsorption/separation systems, in particular toward chlorobenzene and chlorocyc 1 ohexane.

Importance of storage time in mesophilic anaerobic digestion of food waste

Storage was used as a pretreatment to enhance the methanization performance of mesophilic anaerobic digestion of food waste. Food wastes were separately stored for 0, 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 12 days, and then fed into a methanogenic reactor for a biochemical methane potential（BmP） test lasting up to 60 days. Relative to the methane production of food waste stored for 0–1 day（285–308 m L/g-added volatile solids（VSadded））, that after2–4 days and after 5–12 days of storage increased to 418–530 and 618–696 m L/g-VSadded,respectively. The efficiency of hydrolysis and acidification of pre-stored food waste in the methanization reactors increased with storage time. The characteristics of stored waste suggest that methane production was not correlated with the total hydrolysis efficiency of organics in pre-stored food waste but was positively correlated with the storage time and acidification level of the waste. From the results, we recommend 5–7 days of storage of food waste in anaerobic digestion treatment plants.

The exploration of undersea resources becomes popular as land resources decrease. Researches were conducted with emphasis on the safety and efficiency of undersea mining of the large gold deposit in Xinli District of Sanshandao Gold mine. A series of tests for the physical and mechanical characteristics of rock mass were carried out, and the three-dimensional geo-stress distribution was tested in the mining area. Further, a similar experimental simulation platform, which revealed the mechanism of water inrush and ascertained the reason- able thickness of the safety isolate layer, was established for the undersea mining. meanwhile, the feasibility of cancelling the ore pillars and the safety conditions was checked by numerical simulation. The simulation results show that it is safe to exploit the ore body below the -85 m level （presently, the exploitation level is below -160 m in Xinli District）, and the ore pillars can be cancelled below the -560 m level. Fur- thermore, a novel backfill method was designed to reduce the rock strata disturbance and settlement, and the settlement of roof strata was monitored during the mining process. Engineering practice shows that the settlement of roof strata was small and that no disaster happened. This indicates that the undersea safety mining technology of the large gold deposit is achieved in Xinli District.

Carboxylic acid-based metal-organic frameworks(mOFs)are normally passed for the“pre-catalysts”for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)due to the hydroxides constructed in-situ during its alkaline hydrolysis process(AHP)in ***,it remains a mystery that they show advantageous activity over prototypical hydroxides when they are directly acted as OER ***,we propose for the first time that the steric hindrance effect of Nafion can induce enhanced catalytic activity of such *** from conventional catalysts without AHP,the Nafion with 3D structure weakens the AHP of Co-mOF nanoribbons,thus form.ng small size and low crystallinity species(cobalt hydroxide)with more active *** the existence of Nafion also optimizes its electronic structure,which is confirmed by transmission electron microscopy(TEm),in-situ UV absorption spectra,in-situ Raman spectroscopy and so *** with Co-mOF-K obtained by directly immersing the Co-mOF nanoribbons in 1.0 m KOH,the Co-mOF-NK obtained by AHP of Co-mOF mixed with Nafion shows better catalytic *** on the above inspiration,we realized the low overpotential of 268 mV at 10 mA·cm^(−2) by preparing *** work provides a new understanding of the structural reconstruction of mOFs in the field of electrocatalysis.

In polymer physics,the concept of entanglement refers to the topological constraints between long polymer chains that are closely packed *** theory and experimentation suggest that entanglement has a significant influence on the mechanical properties of *** indicates its promise for materials design across various ***,understanding the relationship between entanglement and mechanical properties is complex,especially due to challenges related to length scale constraints and the diffculties of direct experimental *** research delves into how the polymer network structure changes when *** specifically examine the relationship between entanglement,crosslinked networks,and their roles in stretching both entangled and unentangled polymer *** unentangled polymers,our findings underscore the pivotal role of crosslinking bond strength in determining the system's overall strength and resistance to *** for entangled polymers,entanglement plays a pivotal role in load bearing during the initial stretching stage,preserving the integrity of the polymer *** the stretching continues and entanglement diminishes,the responsibility for bearing the load increasingly shifts to the crosslinking network,signifying a critical change in the system's *** noted a linear correlation between the increase in entanglement and the rise in tensile stress during the initial stretching ***,the destruction of the network correlates with a decrease in tensile stress in the later *** findings provide vital insights into the complex dynamics between entanglement and crosslinking in the stretching processes of polymer networks,offering valuable guidance for future manipulation and design of polymer materials to achieve desired'mechanical properties.

The large-scale application of Zn-air battery requires the development of efficient,low-cost,and stable bifunctional electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).herein,an electrocatalyst of a Co/mo C-nanoparticles embedded N-doped carbon(Co/mo C@N-C)was prepared via the in-situ encapsulation of Co_(2)(CO)_(8)and mo(CO)6 in ZIF-8 using ball-milling,followed by pyrolysis under an Ar *** used as a bifunctional electrocatalyst,the as-prepared Co/mo C@N-C showed an ORR half-wave potential of 0.824 V in an alkaline medium and an overpotential of only 290 m V for the OER at 10 m A cm^(-2),which was 70 m V lower than Ru O_(2).The Co/mo C@N-C was also evaluated as a cathode in a solid-state Zn-air battery and delivered a higher peak discharge power density and better cycling stability(over 1600 min)than Pt/C-Ru O_(2).most importantly,our work provides a new strategy to prepare bifunctional catalysts and promotes their applications in the energy conversion field.

Data security is one of the leading concerns and primary challenges for cloud computing. This issue is getting more and more serious with the development of cloud computing. However, the existing privacy-preserving data sharing techniques either fail to prevent the leakage of privacy or incur huge amounts of information loss. In this paper, we propose a novel technique, termed as linking-based anonymity model, which achieves K-anonymity with quasi-identifiers groups （QI-groups） having a size less than K. In the meanwhile, a semi-homogenous generalization is introduced to be against the attack incurred by homogenous generalization. To implement linking-based anonymization model, we propose a simple yet efficient heuristic local recoding method. Extensive experiments on real datasets are also conducted to show that the utility has been significantly improved by our approach compared with the state-of-the-art methods.

In order to investigate the role of the amplification of peak ground acceleration(PGA) in seismic landslide formation mechanisms and study how earthquake waves interact with rock structures, a few strong-motion seismometers are installed at various locations on both sides of the Lengzhuguan gully. Five strong-motion seismometers were triggered at different depths in a tunnel at the same altitude during the Kangding ms 5.8 earthquake on November 25 th, 2014. The data reveal that the horizontal peak acceleration(PGA_H) at each site decreased with increasing site depths. The PGAH at the deepest monitoring site(99 m from the tunnel entrance) was approximately half that of the outermost site. The amplitude of the acceleration response spectrum was also attenuated from the entrance inwards, the dynamic magnification factor(β) of the standard acceleration spectrum was less than 3.5, and rate of change was the same as that for the amplitude acceleration response. The Fourier spectra of each monitoring site also decreased from the outside inwards, and the components of the Fourier spectra were more complex at the surface.
