MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are an emerging class of highly conserved non-coding small RNAs that regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. It is now clear that miRNAs can potentially regulate every aspect of cellular activity, including differentiation and development, metabolism, proliferation, apoptotic cell death, viral infection and tumorigenesis. Recent studies provide clear evidence that miRNAs are abundant in the liver and modulate a diverse spectrum of liver functions. Deregulation of miRNA expression may be a key pathogenetic factor in many liver diseases including viral hepatitis, hepatocellular cancer and polycystic liver diseases. A clearer understanding of the mechanisms involved in miRNA deregulation will offer new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to treat liver diseases. Moreover, better understanding of miRNA regulation and identification of tissue-specific miRNA targets employing transgenic/knockout models and/or modulating oligonucleotides will improve our knowledge of liver physiology and diseases.

Field Emission of SiCN Thin Films Bombarded by Ar^+ Ions

SiCN thin films were synthesized by a radio frequency chemical vapor deposition (RFCVD) system on P\|type Si (1 0 0) wafers using C 2 H 4 , SiH 4 and N 2 as raw materials. In order to get rid of the oxygen absorbed on the surface and improve the characteristics of electron field emission, Ar + ions of low energy were used to bombard the samples. The field emission characteristics of SiCN thin films before and after Ar + bombardment were studied in the super vacuum environment of 10 -6 Pa. It was showed that the turn\|on field (defined as the point where the current\|voltage curve shows a sharp increase in the current density) decreased from 38 V/μm before bombardment to 25 V/μm after bombardment. And the maximum emission current density increased from 159.2 to 267.4 μA/cm 2 . The composition before and after Ar + bombardment was compared using X\|ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Our results illustrated that the field emission characteristics were improved after the bombardment of Ar + .

To handle input and output time delays that commonly exist in many networked control systems(NCSs), a new robust continuous sliding mode control(CSMC) scheme is proposed for the output tracking in uncertain single input-single-output(SISO) networked control systems. This scheme consists of three consecutive steps. First, although the network-induced delay in those systems can be effectively handled by using Pade approximation(PA), the unmatched disturbance cames out as another difficulty in the control design. Second, to actively estimate this unmatched disturbance, a generalized proportional integral observer(GPIO) technique is utilized based on only one measured state. Third, by constructing a new sliding manifold with the aid of the estimated unmatched disturbance and states, a GPIO-based CSMC is synthesized, which is employed to cope with not only matched and unmatched disturbances, but also networkinduced delays. The stability of the entire closed-loop system under the proposed GPIO-based CSMC is detailedly *** promising tracking efficiency and feasibility of the proposed control methodology are verified through simulations and experiments on Quanser's servo module for motion control under various test conditions.

AIM： To develop and characterize a practical model of Hepatopulmonary syndrome. （HPS） in rats.METHODS： The experimental animals were randomized into five feeding groups：（1） control （fed standard diet）, （2） control plus intraperitoneal injection with lipopolysaccharide （LPS）, （3） cirrhosis （fed a diet of maize flour, lard, cholesterol, and alcohol plus subcutaneously injection with carbon tetrachloride （CCI4） oil solution）, （4） cirrhosis plus LPS, and （5） cirrhosis plus glycine and LPS. The blood, liver and lung tissues of rats were sampled for analysis and characterization. Technetium 99m-labeled macroaggregated albumin （Tc99m-MAA） was used to test the dilatation of pulmonary microvasculature.RESULTS： Typical cirrhosis and subsequent hepato- pulmonary syndrome was observed in the cirrhosis groups after an 8 wk feeding period. In rats with cirrhosis, there were a decreased PaO2 and PaCO2 in arterial blood, markedly decreased arterial 02 content, a significantly increased alveolar to arterial oxygen gradient, an increased number of bacterial translocated within mesenteric lymph node, a significant higher level of LPS and tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α） in plasma, and a significant greater ratio of Tc99m-MAA brain-overlung radioactivity. After LPS administration in rats with cirrhosis, various pathological parameters got worse and pulmonary edema formed. The predisposition of glycine antagonized the effects of LPS and significantly alleviated various pathological alterations.

With the increasing demand for water in hydroponic systems and agricultural irrigation,viral diseases have seriously affected the yield and quality of *** removing plant viruses in water environments,virus transmission can be prevented and agricultural production and ecosystems can be *** so far,there have been few reports on the removal of plant viruses in water ***,in this study,easily recyclable biomass-based carbon nanotubes catalysts were synthesized with varying metal activities to activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS).Among them,the magnetic 0.125Fe@NCNTs-1/PMS system showed the best overall removal performance against pepper mild mottle virus,with a 5.9 log_(10)removal within 1 ***,the key reactive species in the 0.125Fe@NCNTs-1/PMS system is^(1)O_(2),which can maintain good removal effect in real water matrices(river water and tap water).Through RNA fragment analyses and label free analysis,it was found that this system could effectively cleave virus particles,destroy viral proteins and expose their *** capsid protein of pepper mild mottle virus was effectively decomposed where serine may be the main attacking sites by^(1)O_(2).Long viral RNA fragments(3349 and 1642 nt)were cut into smaller fragments(∼160 nt)and caused their *** summary,this study contributes to controlling the spread of plant viruses in real water environment,which will potentially help protect agricultural production and food safety,and improve the health and sustainability of ecosystems.

基于Drucker-Prager屈服准则和非关联流动法则,考虑中间主应力、塑性区弹性应变及岩体剪胀性的影响,推导了深部圆形巷道围岩应力、变形及塑性区半径的封闭解析解。结合工程实例,对比分析了不同屈服准则和围岩参数对围岩状态变化的影响,研究结果表明:中间主应力对围岩破裂范围和表面位移均具有重要影响,且表现出明显的区间效应;剪胀角越大,扩容系数越大,围岩破裂范围与表面位移也就越大;围岩参数(残余黏聚力、残余内摩擦角、初始黏聚力)和支护阻力越大,围岩塑性区及破裂区范围均越小;D-P准则解分别与统一强度准则解、双剪强度准则解和M-C准则解相比,围岩破裂范围及表面位移均偏大,但与M-C准则解最为接近;在满足相同围岩变形条件下,D-P准则解所需支护阻力较其他3种准则解均较大,更偏向于刚性支护形式,分析结果可为巷道围岩稳定性评价与支护设计提供重要理论依据。

Woodchip bioreactors are an eco-friendly technology for removing nitrogen(N)***,there needs to be more clarity regarding the dissolved organicmatter(DOM)characteristics and bacterial community succession mechanisms and their association with the N removal performance of *** laboratory woodchip bioreactors were continuously operated for 360 days under three influent N level treatments,and the results showed that the average removal rate of TN was 45.80 g N/(m3·day)when the influent N level was 100 mg N/L,which was better than 10 mg N/L and 50 mg N/*** succession of bacterial communities in response to influent N levels and DOM characteristics was an important driver of TN removal *** to high N levels enriched a copiotroph bacterial module(Module 1)detected by network analysis,including Phenylobacterium,Xanthobacteraceae,Burkholderiaceae,Pseudomonas,and Magnetospirillaceae,carrying N-cycle related genes for denitrification and ammonia assimilation by the rapid consumption of *** a process can increase carbon limitation to stimulate local organic carbon decomposition to enrich oligotrophswith fewer N-cycle potentials(Module 2).Together,this study reveals that the compositional change ofDOMand bacterial community succession are closely related to N removal performance,providing an ecological basis for developing techniques for N-rich effluent treatment.

Objective:To investigate the protective effects of stir-fried Semen Armeniacae Amarum(SAA)against aristolochic acidⅠ(AAⅠ)-induced nephrotoxicity and DNA adducts and elucidate the underlying mechanism involved for ensuring the safe use of Asari Radix et ***:In vitro,HEK293T cells overexpressing Flag-tagged multidrug resistance-associated protein 3(MRP3)were constructed by Lentiviral transduction,and inhibitory effect of top 10 common pairs of medicinal herbs with Asari Radix et Rhizoma in clinic on MRP3 activity was verified using a self-constructed fluorescence screening *** m RNA,protein expressions,and enzyme activity levels of NAD(P)H quinone dehydrogenase 1(NQO1)and cytochrome P4501A2(CYP1A2)were measured in differentiated Hepa RG *** toxicity after inhibition of AAⅠmetabolite transport was detected using cell counting kit-8 *** vivo,C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into 5 groups according to a random number table,including:control(1%sodium bicarbonate),AAⅠ(10 mg/kg),stir-fried SAA(1.75 g/kg)and AAⅠ+stir-fried SAA(1.75 and 8.75 g/kg)groups,6 mice in each *** 7 days of continuous gavage administration,liver and kidney damages were assessed,and the protein expressions and enzyme activity of liver metabolic enzymes NQO1 and CYP1A2 were determined ***:In vivo,combination of 1.75 g/kg SAA and 10 mg/kg AAⅠsuppressed AAⅠ-induced nephrotoxicity and reduced d A-ALI formation by 26.7%,and these detoxification effects in a dose-dependent manner(P<0.01).Mechanistically,SAA inhibited MRP3 transport in vitro,downregulated NQO1 expression in vivo,increased CYP1A2 expression and enzymatic activity in vitro and in vivo,respectively(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Notably,SAA also reduced AAⅠ-induced hepatotoxicity throughout the detoxification process,as indicated by a 41.3%reduction in the number of liver adducts(P<0.01).Conclusions:Stirfried SAA is a novel drug candidate for the suppression of AAⅠ-induced liver and kidney dam

With the widespread use of upper gastrointestinal endoscopy,more and more gastric polyps(GPs)are being *** management strategies often rely on histopathologic examination,which can be time-consuming and may not guide immediate clinical *** paper aims to introduce a novel classification system for GPs based on their potential risk of malignant transformation,categorizing them as"good","bad",and"ugly".A review of the literature and clinical case analysis were conducted to explore the clinical implications,management strategies,and the system's application in endoscopic *** polyps,mainly including fundic gland polyps and inflammatory fibrous polyps,have a low risk of malignancy and typically require minimal or no *** polyps,mainly including hyperplastic polyps and adenomas,pose an intermediate risk of malignancy,necessitating closer monitoring or *** polyps,mainly including type 3 neuroendocrine tumors and early gastric cancer,indicate a high potential for malignancy and require urgent and comprehensive *** new classification system provides a simplified and practical framework for diagnosing and managing GPs,improving diagnostic accuracy,guiding individualized treatment,and promoting advancements in endoscopic *** some challenges,such as the risk of misclassification due to similar endoscopic appearances,this system is essential for the standardized management of *** also lays the foundation for future research into biomarkers and the development of personalized medicine.
